My father was in Grabs Hospital and was treated by Dr. Crippa looked after. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to say very, very big praise and a huge thank you to this doctor. We have never met a doctor like this before! Mr. Crippa is very patient-oriented, takes the time to talk to the patient and explain everything, is very sensitive, friendly and also includes the relatives. The treatment/illness was also explained to us by Mr. Crippa explained and discussed with a drawing. I could write a lot more but this doctor is just GREAT! Thank you very much again!

I was in this hospital last week and I have to say it was really bad, no decency and stupid questions. I was in really bad pain and tried to explain what I had, but instead of people listening to me, they didn't let me finish, then there was this stupid question that I would never have asked a patient. Really embarrassing, I have to say: Yes, what's wrong with you hoped that they came here. So you really have to ask a patient this stupid question. I was there because I was in pain and not for fun, and then I wasn't taken seriously, so bad who hired these people, this doctor was really bad, no decency and cheeky.

I ended up in Hospital Grabs with a gunshot wound. In general, doctors in Switzerland have very little experience with gunshot wounds and their effects on the human body. With Dr. Med. Diego De Lorenzi but I won the lottery. He is an extremely skilled surgeon and has considered the wound itself as the deciding factor in the type of treatment. Despite the size of the procedure, the incision is very small, the scar looks cosmetic and heals perfectly. The whole team is competent, operational and friendly. My entire stay at Grabs Hospital was an exclusively positive experience. I could even say “gladly again”😅

Had to go to emergency with my husband because of severe knee pain. One of the nurses was questioning him when the assistant doctor came in, interrupted the nurse and introduced herself without apologizing. Already a no go! Then they asked questions which a patient cannot answer unless he is a doctor himself! He had to have an x-ray. Another nurse came to get him. She called him and ran off without asking if he needed help and when I asked him loudly if he needed help, she just shrugged and rolled her eyes! This could also be observed in exactly the same way with an older lady with the same carer!!!!! We had to wait a very long time and had our baby with us because I was driving my husband and I had to drive him back home. Some nurses were visibly annoyed because my baby was crying and asked if I wanted to go home for the night. I said no and explained why. All I got was: “Yes, you have to know” with an annoyed look! Now we called radiology today because we need the x-rays on CD for our doctor. This is not possible and they have never heard of anything like it! Please? For years all doctors have given it to us on CD and one hospital refuses or says it doesn't work?! Very, very old-fashioned and cheeky nurses and doctors. I will soon be operated on in this hospital and hope that everything goes well for me. The preliminary examination was very poorly organized, I had to wait 30 minutes and was sent to 3 houses! That simply does not work! Very very disorganized and in summary old fashioned

I'm terrified of hospitals and operating rooms. Everyone here was so friendly and understanding that they were able to take away a lot of my fears. From the nurse and anesthetist to the surgeon and the senior doctor, everyone takes extremely loving care of you. Can only recommend this hospital.

Ligament surgery, Dr. Gerhard operated on me. So far I am very satisfied with the doctor's service. While I was in the hospital, the service was really excellent, from the accommodation to the medical staff. I am especially grateful to Sister Suada, who was extremely pleasant and dedicated. All the workers were nice and I felt good. It's been a month and a half since the operation, so far everything is fine. I hope that the recovery continues at this pace and that eventually my knee will be as good as new. I have heard many bad things about this hospital, but my experience is different and I would really like to praise the doctor and the entire staff.

It was absolutely amazing from entry to exit. I come home spoiled. Entrance, changing, surgery. That went quickly. The care is attentive, professional and friendly. The food was very good. My mother was admitted to the hospital as an emergency, very weak. The values were catastrophic, she was hospitalized for 1 week and apart from being spruced up, no further investigations were carried out regarding the cause. Since she was very weak and also in need of care, she simply didn't shower or look after herself for 5 days. A urine catheter was placed, to this day we don't know why. It was said that she suddenly couldn't dissolve water, which previously worked perfectly. Was then referred to the geriatric ward in Walenstadt for 2 weeks, and the same thing happened there too. Called the family doctor today, he couldn't find anything out of the report, just said it was unusual, 3 weeks in hospital, no kidney examination because of the infection, no gastroscopy because of diarrhea. Pure waste of time. Swiss hospitals are being sabotaged by austerity measures, incompetent doctors, but they're milking the medical system dry. Welcome to rich, proud Switzerland. Appointment with the urologist and gynecologist tells us what could have been done in the hospital.👏

Small correction as of June 2023.... I've been with you for an operation for 2 days now. As always, very, very friendly and nice. This time as semi-private and nothing to complain about. Cool guys during anesthesia induction. Everyone on the ward was super nice and accommodating. 5 stars are given when I, as a “day visitor”, can choose the food menu in advance. This was my first time here. My visit lasted 3 days as a private patient. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The food was also great. Only the room on ward F was worn out given its age. But there will be something new soon.

So, I read a few reviews here. Especially the 1 star reviews. From my point of view, it should be noted that these days we humans feel less and less understanding and empathy for our counterparts. You don't have patience, you don't listen, you communicate misleadingly, etc. In addition, time always runs differently for the patient. Because in the waiting position, time obviously runs much slower. I myself was brought in by ambulance at 5:00 p.m. and was admitted at 9:30 p.m. For me, the wait also felt longer, especially when you wait in considerable pain. However, I quickly realized that several emergencies were being handled at the same time and this is certainly not easy to plan. At no time did I feel left to myself. The next step was always explained to me with the information that it might take some time. So dear future patients of Grabs, make your own experiences and don't be fooled by the 1 star frustration reviews. On the one hand, I feel sorry for these people that they did not receive the help they needed, and on the other hand, they did not benefit from the excellent expertise. For me it is one of the most beautiful hospitals in the area and the food is just as delicious. I know it might sound like an advertising review - unfortunately I have to disappoint you, it was just my experience. I would like to personally say a big thank you to the doctors, assistants, nurses, therapists, cleaners, and simply all of the employees for their tireless efforts to help us - thank you very much for that. And if something doesn't work right away, dear patients, please be understanding and patient with people who help you. Findings: herniated disc. Result: Pain-free and runs like clockwork again.

Very bad doctor in the hospital's pulmonology department. I had sleep problems due to a mental illness, and in pulmonology they said I had sleep apnea. I've been feeling very well again for several weeks. Now almost 2 months later I (a professional chauffeur) is threatened with having my driver's license revoked due to lack of sleep. Very incompetent doctor who only takes advantage of his position of power. I can't recommend it.

Am disappointed. After a recent operation, the nursing staff refused to give me the prescribed reserve medication for the pain. I'm horrified. Grinning stupidly in my face. Every person has the right to a pain-free existence. As a patient, you could feel the disagreements in the team. It took about 6/7 minutes to respond to the bell. The only HF nurse who recognized us as patients and our dignity is Roberto Gassner. He and his FAGe work colleague from late shift did a good job.

I recently gave birth to our daughter at Grabs Hospital and was already there for a pregnancy check. I would do everything exactly the same again. The staff, from the doctors to the room service, is extremely friendly. You are extremely looked after. All of my wishes regarding the birth and postpartum period were always respected and adhered to. I felt taken seriously. The nurses in the postpartum bed sometimes take the baby from you so that you can take a break or sleep. This is no comparison to my first birth, which I had in another hospital. The food is also extraordinary! I had a great time here and would have loved to stay longer!! Thank you!! ❤️

I was asked by my chosen gynecologist, as I am a new patient, to present myself to the gynecological clinic at Grabs Hospital, as they only have time for me in a month. Called the hospital: As a new patient with complaints, a 1 year wait, that's not possible at all. And then the statement that I should look for another gynecologist, there isn't just one. Please? I had to ask again if I really called the hospital - yes, that's tough! Can you imagine how someone who needs medical help feels and receives a statement like this from a hospital?

My friend was referred to your facility (emergency) by her family doctor this afternoon with severe abdominal pain (cramps), nausea, dizziness and fever. She has had the symptoms for the 3rd day now. She was sent home after some time with her pain, blood tests and increased inflammation levels. No ultrasound or further examinations were performed. She only had her blood drawn twice because the wrong tube was used the first time. Now she has been back in the hospital with you for over 2 hours because her mother did not agree at all with the procedure in this case. She still has severe stomach cramps and vomiting, lies there with a fever and chills, and asked very politely for a blanket, which unfortunately they couldn't give her because it doesn't seem to have one. You really can't be more empathetic.

Yesterday my mother had to be picked up by the rescue at around 7.30 p.m. She was taken to Grabs Hospital. It was said there that no “women’s bed” was available. If she had to remain stationary, the only option would be to transfer her to Altstätten or Walenstadt. After we asked whether Chur was also possible, this was clarified. A lot of time went by and my mother, who is very modest, cried and asked for painkillers. We were told that Chur was not possible and that she would now be seen in an emergency. The routine examinations, blood samples, etc. were carried out. She still didn't get any painkillers. The nice nurse had given her something a long time ago, but the doctor had to order it. The hospital staff's nerves were frayed due to complete overload. We were not taken into account at all. Since my daughter stayed with her grandmother, a Mr. Bollhalder asked me a few questions in the hallway, including whether my mother would like to be resuscitated. I said yes. Then came the counter question as to whether I was sure, since she had been saying for 3-4 days: "I like it now." I felt so misunderstood. My mother was still crying and hoping for a painkiller. Finally at around 11:30 p.m. she was given a Novalgin. This nurse said the situation had changed. A woman had just died. All you have to do is clean it up and then my mother can have this bed. We felt really sick and my daughter just wanted to go home with her grandmother. The doctor said we would make life difficult for her. We weren't there to help her, we were expecting help from Grabs Hospital. However, since we didn't get this, we decided to go home with our mother. This morning I received a telephone call from the head of internal medicine, Dr. Crippa. He mentioned that he was on the management of the Werdenberg-Sarganserland hospital region. (As if I cared!) He called our behavior unacceptable and that we should never show up again. Neither me, nor my daughter, nor my mother, who is really the least responsible. What kind of oath did this “chief doctor” take? To save or destroy human lives? Where is the humanity in the face of such behavior by a “chief doctor” and some of his employees? Simply INCREDIBLE!!! Excellent place to be treated. I had a planned surgery and it was a pleasure, as much as it can be :-), to be in the Hospital Grabs. It was very well organized, starting from the preop examination, to the surgery and the post op treatment. Everybody was very friendly. You are treated as a person and not just as a number. The rooms are very nice and the food was fantastic. Special thanks to the surgeons, especially Dr. Nowak, to the staff in the surgery area and the nurses on the 2nd floor.

Experience of a Covid 19 patient: Admitted to the intensive care unit at Grabs Hospital as an emergency, then later recovered in the ward room. Awful emergency room, awful care. Went there after a car accident. Without asking what meds I am currently taking, the nurse had me take some meds (I guess they were for pain) and told me I could leave. I asked to see a doctor and she wanted to know why. I told her it was bc I was dizzy. No dr ever came to the room I was waiting in so I ended up leaving after waiting in a room for an hour. Disgraceful.

Unfortunately, Helsana will not pay for semi-private or private inpatient stays at Grabs Hospital in the upcoming model. I don't know whether other health insurance companies will follow suit. Since the medical options are very limited anyway (e.g. no cardiac catheter laboratory; no interventional (neuro)radiology with a stroke unit available; hardly any specialties on weekends and outside 8-to-5 hours), the question arises as to why not better go to the KSSG. Palliative care patients are certainly an exception: the dying process is probably more “personal” and better accompanied in smaller hospitals. Conclusion: A good option to die for. If you are hopeful, please prefer a 21st century hospital.

My personal and own opinion here is simply: If it's at all possible and the circumstances allow it, anywhere else but here. During my last visit, I was not taken seriously in an emergency and was almost laughed at and insulted. An hour later I had an emergency at a family doctor and was helped within a few minutes. Diagnosis: Severe conjunctivitis in both eyes! Was not recognized! It should be hay fever! Well, THANK YOU

Had an operation with a multiple days stay here and had to visit for a few other occurrences without any complaints. The doctors and nurses were always professional any I understand it can be a very stressful job. My recovery went well and I was always looked after in a professional manner.

Just moved to the area at the beginning of the year and as a cancer survivor, I was looking for some support in finding an oncology team to help me with my side effects. Dr. Diem and his colleagues refused to give me any guidance. They just told me to go back to Innsbruck to get a recommendation for a radio-oncologist in Switzerland. Seems like if you are not a local, they don't care about the patient and they do not provide any alternatives or guidance. If you have to go there for an emergency, be careful as the lack of care can kill you.

Grab's hospital doesn't work at all!!! After my ankle fracture got worse and worse after 3 operations and the bacteria I got in the hospital, an assistant doctor came to my bed and told me during the rounds in a 5-bed room (like in the Middle Ages) that my foot would just have to be removed and now you don't need to look anymore who is to blame. The head doctor was surprised that I decided so vehemently against amputation. Now I'm lying in Zurich (2 bed rooms) where people don't even think about amputation and where the current head doctor is surprised that the foot should be removed. I'm definitely considering legal action and since I still want to keep my limbs, I'm now taking a huge detour around the house.

A nice hello or Grüezi is completely out of the question! Radiology: asked four times for the name asked three times for the correct page. In the tube itself the question was asked again whether it was really this person or not and the right side? In the end it was said that the wrong person was being examined. Hello???

Waren letzten Sommer hier essen. Der Chef stand rauchend in der Ecke und hat die ganze Zeit seine Mitarbeiter blöd angefahren. Das Essen war mittelmässig. Der Dessert landete am falschen Tisch. Wir konnten es beobachten wie der Kellner den Teller wieder wegnahm und direkt zu uns brachte. Ich sagte dem Kellner das ich das in der jetzigen Corona-Situation nicht angebracht finde. Darauf lief er ins Restaurant, drehte dort eine Runde, was man von aussen sehen konnte, und brachte mir den selben Teller wieder an den Tisch und meinte, die Küche habe einen neuen für mich gemacht. Absolutes no-go!Das man nur Bar bezahlen kann, wird einem auch erst bei der Rechnung gesagt. Der nächste Bankomat ist mit dem Auto 20 Minuten entfernt. Wären Sie nicht das einzige Restaurant weit und breit, wären die auch schon wieder Konkurs gegangen. Wir werden bei diesen Pächtern sicher nie mehr einkehren. Denke aber auch nicht, dass es die solange machen. Schade um die schöne Lage.Evtl wird beim nächsten Wirtwechsel ja dann auch endlich mal etwas am Gebäude gemacht.

I have ordered there several times and have always been very satisfied. After today's experience, I can definitely not recommend this restaurant. Will not order there again! You wait 40 minutes for your order, only to get a call that unfortunately half of the order has run out. A call immediately after ordering would have been more than appropriate. It's a shame, but there are other better options.
