Sporting Park in Engelberg

Great centre with plenty activities. Very warm inside the changing rooms and bathrooms during the winter which is so pleasant. The restaurant offers good food and quick service (reservation is recommended during lunch time). During the working days it is not crowded at all. Very comfortable for the whole family, also with young kids.

The food tasted very good and the price-performance ratio was still right here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I give a clear recommendation. We were even able to watch an ice hockey game while we ate. You don't experience that every day.

We had dinner at a restaurant attached to the sports park (citizen gym?). (Business hours: Mon-Fri 11:30-13:30, 17:30-21:00, Weekends 11:30-21:00) The pizzas are between medium and large, so it's a bit much for one pizza per adult. The 'Sports Park' pizza was delicious, and the penne pasta and goulash soup we ate together were also delicious. This is a great restaurant in Engelberg for a reasonably priced meal. (The pizza here is cheaper and more delicious than the pizzeria in town.) It gives the impression that this is a restaurant that caters to local residents rather than tourists. It was interesting to be able to eat in the restaurant while looking at the indoor ice hockey rink.

Fine restaurant next to the one-way so I could watch ice hockey. Great staff and good food! Next door you can go cross-country skiing, ice skating, skiing, hiking... Perfect place with many possibilities. Perfect for a sporty weekend!

Unfriendly staff. If you don't have a reservation you have to listen to harsh comments. After consuming it, you are shooed away from the table if you want to watch the children ice skating. The sound makes the music !

Since we couldn't find temperature information for the rear cross-country ski area anywhere on the Internet, I took the liberty of going to the reception after eating something in the restaurant to find out more about the Internet before leaving. As we have experienced several times, it was significantly colder in the back area of ​​the cross-country ski trails than in the area of ​​the sporting park. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me much when it comes to bringing the appropriate clothing when the staff tells me that I now know the approximate difference and can follow it useful because the difference is not always the same depending on the wind and weather....

Cheap, pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food (schnitzel/fries) didn't suit my taste. The service was also overwhelmed, but if after serving the warm food you still have to wait for the cutlery, which was in a barrel (a handle), and an order for a table of 6 is taken first, then that's definitely it the wrong process. It was quite okay because of the nice lady and the fresh, delicious croissants the next day.

The curling is really great. We rented the train for 2 or 3 hours. There was also a helpful introduction, good instructions and tips during the game. It was a lot of fun. We will definitely come again. Afterwards we visited the restaurant. We were happy there.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Only the lady at the checkout, Ms. W***, she was probably in a “bad” mood yesterday. I wanted to get some skates sharpened. Everything would have been okay, but when you tell customers that you have other things to do than quickly sharpen your ice skates, I personally can't find the right answer to a simple, nice question. Nobody can know that you have to wait 3 days for it. It's a shame, I'll just have it torn down in Lucerne.

The ice cream was good but they chilled it too hard

Here's what's going on... If you want to while away the evening, you can do so here and even get some exercise at the same time. There is a small resti where you can drink and nibble something.

We held an event with 87 people on the fun course in the Sporting Park. It was great, the park employees really motivated all of our teams and the games were exciting and well prepared. A great idea for a team event.

You are welcome to come here. For ski jumping, a large press center with plenty of space to work will be set up in the climbing hall. It's always fun to work as a photographer here. The ice rink is always fun, even if as an adult beginner you don't have the right walking aid (it's only for children :( ) it's nice to eat and drink in the Stübli. And watching the curling competitions is always interesting too.

We were quiet desperate to find a simple place to have a quick dinner after a long day of travel on Sunday in Engelberg. Unfortunately, we learned that you needed a reservation for most places. By pure chance we ended up trying this place and we were positively surprised. Obviously, the atmosphere is clearly sports arena and the main customers are there for after their sports training. But we enjoyed, the kids did not have to feel bad for being a little bit louder and we were able to watch an ice hockey game whilst having our dinner. The food was very good for a sports "bar"/restaurant. We would go back anytime if we wanted a simple dinner.

We were ice skating, which was great - although a bit chaotic sometimes (lots of tourists on ice, haha!). They do clean the ice regularly. One part of the ice was only for hockey, but they are only allowed soft-pucks so there is no danger of getting injured. Renting skates is not too expensive, and there is a room for changing. You can also try curling, tennis, and there is a kids' corner and a pool table too. The food in the cafeteria was very good, must be the mountain air - but we ate a lot too :-)) Their website is reliable and refreshed every day.

I recommend it to all winter sports lovers. Here you can take lessons in skiing, downhill skiing, skateboarding and other winter activities. You can get vivid impressions just walking around the town of Engelberg, or admiring the mountain scenery from the ski lift. Get there from Lucerne by express train, departing once an hour.
