Amazing Rosti! It was cooked well with great quality ingreadients. 10/10 comfort food 😍 Thanks Stadel!

We were a group of 14 people and they treated us very kindly!! Traditional Swiss cuisine. To highlight the KÄSESCHNITTE with a special touch of the xef. We also spent a lot on CHOLERA and of course the fondue. Both the Hostess and the staff have been very friendly and attentive.

One of the very nest fondues I ever had...!

This place was excellent! Such a nice vibe, and the staff was so friendly (especially our waiter, Elsbeth). The cheese fondue was so good and such an overall friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We have been to this restaurant many times but definitely the last time. We reserved a table three days in advance and was definitely the worst seat in the restaurant! This is a parking space and nothing else! There were two seats next to each other under a wall in the lower part of the restaurant. You would rather leave all your fondue dishes there but certainly not any paying guests.

Absolute disaster, We were in the Stadel very often but under new management it was definitely the last time. We were greeted in English. The waiter only spoke English and the boss was completely overwhelmed with her tablet because she was unable to place the order for two people at a table of four. After 30 minutes we left the restaurant without ordering anything. A pity!

We were looking for a traditional food experience (fondue, rösti and apricot sorbet). Menu was to the point and flavors were exactly what we wanted. Lovely intimate Swiss restaurant. Knowing its history makes the experience more special.

Poor quality product, certainly the restaurant is quite pretty, but we cannot say that the food was up to expectations for the price.

Cheese fondue (28F) and tomato ham and egg? I had the Rösti (26F) and it was really delicious! And the servers kindly responded to all requests quickly and with a smiling face. (I don’t feel like I’m in a hurry x) We even asked if they could split the payment by card and cash since we had to use francs, but they happily showed us a calculator right in front of us and let us pay in installments. We requested that both menu items be omitted from alcohol and salt, but since they are made only with cheese, they are too salty for Korean tastes, like all European foods..! Still, it felt so good and delicious! Of course, I recommend trying it at least once just for experience!!! There is no potato bag in the picture, but fondue comes with whole potatoes and bread as standard! There is no need to ask if both can be refilled, there are plenty of them! Both were delicious, but the European potatoes were really delicious. It was a good time. If I come to Zermatt again, I would like to visit again!!!

The team change is not a success. We regret the menu with varied dishes. We had to insist on having a green salad...The choice of wines is limited. And the waiter who DOES NOT SPEAK German... The emphasis on the traditional values ​​of a Zermatt family on the menu is a big joke. The restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday evening. SAD ! We have been customers for 11 years, every year. Weird place, feels tense.Food was below average.Ordered a bottle of wine and the owner came to open it for us but she struggled .Asked about the wine to make it less awkward, but it didn’t help. They charged for tap water. Tourist trap.

Huge drop on service. Valais plate served with white bread.... Fork of Chinese fondue for a cheese fondue.. More than average fondue. Minimal quantity. And best of all, the waiter speaks neither French, German, nor Italian. It has just become a tourist factory. A little questioning would be very necessary. A Valais resident in Zermatt is an extraterrestrial.

Cute place, but not good food. The Rösti was badly oversalted (and I like salty dishes). To be fair, the different Rösti dish of my SO was fine. The wine by the glass tasted like fermented mouth wash. Dessert was the highlight, banana split the winner. The lowlight was that of our party of 5, 3 had stomach trouble after eating here.

The interior design gives you a Swiss feel, and the staff will take good care of you.

The (male) waitress who brought us the menus was very strange, not to say unfriendly. No greetings and the cards were just listlessly placed/thrown on the table... the (female) waitress who took the order and then served it was a lot friendlier... The cheese slices were good. The sausage / cheese salad... well not bad but nothing to look at, the cheese was almost coarsely grated and therefore visually more of a nogo...too much in relation to the sausage..... The bread served with it had an indefinable taste... when I asked what kind of bread it was, they said it was probably because it was stored in the refrigerator... Certainly not a second time for us...

We got wrong food, despite even point with finger in menu what we want to order. At the end got right one. Long waiting time ~40-60 minutes. But there was some lucky guy, who got order very fast, as was served our food, the one wrongly served. While waiting, saw bartender mixing beer with sparkling water :/ maybe this is some special Swiss recipe, ~20% was watter in the glass. Someone ordered two beers, the one from pump got mixed, the bottled one offcourse was not mixed, as was served in/with botle. Apple strudel seemed like 2 days old, someone ordered, it was heated in microwave. And as the cherry on the cake, got umbrella stolen in rainy day, not a restaurants fault, just not lucky day 🤭

Spent a lot of money on a meal that wasn't very tasty! Also, the waiter was rude and impolite, and the restaurant's hospitality etiquette was completely substandard, would not recommend this restaurant!

My family and I have eaten at this restaurant twice during our stay in Zermatt. We really liked the dishes we had. The price is what you can usually find in Switzerland, this restaurant is even a little cheaper than others in the surrounding area. The dining room with a cozy Swiss style and a pleasant outdoor terrace. I would like to highlight the great kindness of the two waitresses who served us the two days we went. Always with a smile and excellent attention.

It's delicious, but it's still a tourist price. I asked for Rosti. It was freshly made, piping hot and delicious, but it was a little smaller than I expected. Cheese fondue seems better here.

Food is good. We read the reviews ahead of time where people complained that it takes more than an hour. We hoped that wouldn’t happen to us but it did. 1:15 to 2:42 still don’t have food but everyone around us was served first. They were very nice, but not my favorite experience in Switzerland so far.

The food (rösti with fried egg, ham and cheese) is a children's portion, as you can see in the picture. For the price of CHF 26.00, it would have to be at least twice as big. We will definitely never go there again. The waitress didn't take our complaint seriously. Afterwards we went to the Coop and bought something real for dinner. Total rip-off in this restaurant.

Terrible!! Price-performance is absolutely not right! For 44.- a small cordon bleu, bought ready-made, with a few fries. Came there based on recommendations, but were very disappointed.

The store staff looks busy and makes a lot of mistakes. Even though I only ordered one serving of cheese fondue, I was charged for two servings. Also, the type of cheese fondue served was different from what I had ordered. The menu didn't appear for a while after I entered the store, and it was slow to get my order. The rice is usually delicious, but the cheese fondue is quite rich in flavor, unlike what I order in Japan. It might be tough to eat alone. .

The Stadel restaurant. It’s a typical Valais restaurant. It is a standard and mid-range restaurant. A popular restaurant. The food is very tasty there. Local dishes like röstis and veal sausages. Very reasonable prices for the place. A small terrace which overlooks the central square.

Some weeks ago I went to Zermat for the first time with my wife and a couple of friends. We have chosen the restaurant by the menu’s diversity and we don’t regret about that, the food was really great. Everything was just ruined by the waiter. A guy with beard and glasses. First because of the way he treated an asiatic girl on our side. She just asked for something and he said that there were other guest in there and she should wait, but he said it in a really impolite way. But the wort happened with us. After eating I stated to looking at him in order to ask for the bill. After circa 5 minutes without having a feedback, I asked him when he was crossing my back: “could you bring the bill, please?” The response we got was: “ I just have two hands, wait!”. After listening the way he treated the asian girl, we didn’t get surprised about his impolite way of being. After that I just told him that I didn’t need his hands in my request, just his ears and he finished saying: “I must be respected “, and I replied say “me too, because I just asked for the bill !“. At the end I just would like to say that we had at Stadel the worst moments of our trip in Zermat and the waiter is far alway of being a prepared professional to deal with costumers.

A traditional style restaurant. Enjoyed the Rösti "Matterhorn". Well cooked and well season. Lived up to and beyond expectations.

Perfect place to go, if you want some Swiss food. Dog friendly, good atmosphere. Not only was the service friendly, but also the other people. Great food, very filling and large portions.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and the waiter immediately told us, no Rosti and no meat. Deplorable welcome from the waiter who I think should change jobs. He speaks to customers in an unacceptable manner. Example: “I have only two hands” or “Don’t sit ask first”. There are ways to express yourself young man. If you don't like serving do another job especially since you seemed overwhelmed with only 3 tables. As for dinner, it was passable at best. Certainly the prices are cheaper than other establishments but frankly, the mushroom risotto was a disaster. It was simply tasteless boiled rice with 2 unfortunate mushrooms that looked wasted as well. The cheese fondue was not bad but nothing more. Finally, I cannot recommend this establishment. I attach a lot of importance to the welcome, the first feeling when you enter a restaurant or a hotel must be positive because otherwise it can spoil your dinner or your stay even if it is good.

I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. My family and I had the most disappointing dining experience here, and I feel compelled to share it. Upon arrival, the staff directed us to a table surrounded by mostly empty seats. We had our baby with us in a stroller, but instead of making any effort to accommodate us, the staff member instructed us to park the stroller away from our table, near the kitchen. This would leave our child completely unattended, which is a safety concern for any parent. I couldn't help but wonder if the staff member would be willing to leave his own child in that situation. We politely asked if we could park the baby beside the table, understanding that it might block other diners but assuring them that we would move the stroller if necessary. The staff member curtly refused without providing any explanation. Throughout this ordeal, I couldn't shake off the feeling that the staff were treating us differently due to our ethnicity, which only added to our discomfort. In summary, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The inconsiderate and unaccommodating staff left a bitter taste in our mouths, and we have no intention of returning. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere.

Potato rosti is an absolute must try. I got on with Pork sausage, but they also offer fried egg. Pair it with mix salad and it's a perfect meal. Simple and homey flavours. Great wines and desserts as well. you won't go wrong with any, we had the Creme Brulee.

Food was just average.. fries tasted like supermarket packaged fries ..a hair was found in one of my rosti dish.. fyi they charged tap water for CHF 4..lastly the guy waiter shown a little favouritism between tourists/locals

Awful dining experience. Very expensive food for what it is: mediocre, "microwavable readymade meal"-like experience. When two guests from my party kindly asked for substitutions in their meals because of intolerances (e.g. removing tomatoes in one case, walnut in the other) both dishes were served with neither ingredient removed. To top it all off, paying separately (splitting the bill in 3) was not made possible by the staff because reasons. Bottom of the barrel establishment which remains open only because there are often more tourists around than seats at restaurant tables.

We loved this cozy restaurant. Great pasta, great service and an intimate cozy atmosphere.

Average but yummy German/Swiss menu. Super cute restaurant and very kind waitresses. We got lucky and made it in without a reservation. We sat downstairs, and it was a bit hot but enjoyable nonetheless.

Pretty good food and nice setting

I was very pleased to be able to get a table on Friday evening, even though I hadn't made a reservation. It was the last free table. The service was very friendly, the food was delicious, pork steak Valais, baked with tomatoes and cheese, with fried potatoes and vegetables.

During our two weeks of skiing vacation we have encountered some disastrous dining experiences in Zermatt. But this place tops it all. I presume you are safe as long as you are in the fondue circle. But you would be in for a very unpleasant surprise if you choose any of the other items on the menu. Our salad with grilled shrimp was truly bad. The shrimps were not cleaned properly and were so tough that they could have been used as corkscrews. The mixed salad accompaning the shrimps comprised of wilted lettuce, corn from a can and a bunch of other tastless vegetable varieties. We endured the appetizer but then the grilled salmon appeared on the table. The fish was so potent that we could smell its arrival from ten feet away. The presence of the fish on the table put me off my hard-as-a-floorboard pork schnitzel as well. Our complaint was met with a cold response from rhe server. We did not touch the food and requested to pay for the wine and walk out. They insisted on us paying the entire $170 ticket even thought we had not touched the food. So do yourselves a favor and don't go to this place.

Don't be fooled by Google ratings and comments. Visited to eat Swiss cuisine. I ordered fondue, pasta, and risotto, but I was told I had to wait over 30 minutes just for the risotto. Instead of risotto, I was choosing another food. After about 3 minutes had passed and I was ordering another food, the male employee started to be unfriendly, talking to himself in a slightly irritated manner. The food was not as tasty as the fondue and other foods I ate at the cafe in Cuiryere. I looked at the staff and waited for the checkout, but the time I spent getting dressed and waiting for the checkout was longer than the time it took me to order food and finish eating. Even 1 star is not worth it. Other than us, Koreans also had the same reaction.

Fondue may be too salty for Korean tastes, but Delicious The potatoes served together are the best. Draft beer is cheap and delicious. Rösti is also delicious. Highly recommended as a place for a quick lunch or a beer.

Waited a very long time (15 minutes) to place my order. Service extremely slow. Cannot take an order from 2 tables (total 5 people) at the same time. Another 15 minutes had passed before my food arrived, even though the restaurant was only half full

poor attitude from this Portuguese waiter with glasses and a scruff beard. waited 30mins for the bill and another 15 mins for the card machine. When we asked if he accepts card, he rudely snapped he is waiting many others as well and not just us. Also noticed him “selecting” customers, rudely telling some he had too many to handle when the restaurant has a few empty tables and accepts some despite the place filling up.

Oh my goodness!!.... the service was horrible. Bearded man with glasses from portugal... maybe. Granted that there was just one waiter handling the tables but his manners needed much improvements. Coming to this restaurant to be berrated by this man was such a disgusting experience. Shame on this man for his poor attitude. I witness him telling another couple to hurry up with their orders and appeared impatient. This is not a Karen's Diner. Food was alright, but sorry, despite its seemingly popularity with people around, no. Fix that attitude.

I can say a lot of things about this place. All nice ones. But I prefer saying that this is just the best Fondue in all Zermatt. I have read about in the Rick Steves guide and he could not be more right on suggesting Stadel. Totally recommended. Good price. Amazing food. Outstanding crude Swiss atmosphere.

Terrible experience. Only one person serving the restaurant who promised us a classic Raclette machine on our table with the usual sides etc. They didn’t actually have a raclette machine at all and served us this small plate. If we had the patience to wait 45 minutes we would have got a second one. But with the lack of service and the missing sides / forgotten salad, we paid and left without having a full meal.

Went to this restaurant for dinner at 5:30, went inside and kindly asked for a menu. I was then rudely told they start service at 6 so I went back out until I had the urge to go to the restroom leaving my little brother (10 years old) alone at the table for a couple minutes while my parents were a few feet away. I came back out to a “local” lady yelling at him in another language about him moving some things around on the table. She then proceeded to yell at my mother because we didn’t tell him anything. My 10 year old little brother was on the brink of tears not knowing what he did wrong because all he was doing was moving things around on OUR table. The waiter then ran out screamed ”I’m taking the beer” and proceeded to aggressively take the beer from my mothers hand as she was going to take a sip causing it to spill all over her. The waiter then went inside and kicked us out because the “local” lady told her to. The “local” lady along with the rest of her table then started yelling at us to leave as well and even threatening to call the police. When I asked who she was she claimed to be the owner and that we were just tourists who don’t know anything. What we wanted to be a nice evening out in zermatt turned out to be a traumatizing experience for my 10 year old little brother who left in tears. DO NOT COME HERE WITH KIDS.

Really nice restaurant...we ate fondue and raclette which was tasty and in a reason price...nice view with snow and really good service.

The dessert was the best part. Main course choices were just average. Service was ok. Not my favorite spot as far as food goes, but ambience was great.

Food was good, took like 20 minutes to get the rosti tho… the service can be improved, the waitress were kinda cold and a wrong meal got served so had to wait 10 more minutes. Solid 4 stars but unfortunately 5 can’t be given.

I had tomato soup, rösti topped with a fried egg, and fondue with finely sliced ​​mushrooms and cheese. Rustic ambience paired with Swiss warmth. The quality and quantity of the food were TOP. The prices are rather moderate for Zermatt. There was a beautiful bouquet of roses for our birthday child. Keep it up and good luck. Because that's how you live gastronomy!

The service is so slow, we waited for 1 hour. The man told us restaurant is open at 6pm so we already came 15 minutes before. But the food came at 7pm. Cheese fondue taste is not original because there’s wine taste in the fondue. might be not similar with asian taste

Awful dining experience. We’ve been waiting for a bill for 45mins since we asked for it. One of my friends then walked to a waiter and asked politely “can we have a bill please?” Well the guy replied “we’re not only serving you”. We should have believed in the reviews left before. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this restaurant if you don’t wanna ruin your holiday. Please avoid!
