Steakhouse Al Capone in St. Gallen

I think it's a shame that there is no changing table in the restaurant. You also have to change your child's diaper where the bar guests go to the toilet in the evening. On a wooden changing table without a soft surface. Given that this restaurant has been around for 10+ years, I find it very shameful. According to the waitress, I wasn't allowed to leave my diapers in the trash because of the guests in the evening.

Been there on New Year's Eve. Service was, as always, very friendly and organized. Food was perfect. Hot stone with horse meat is highly recommended.

EXCELLENT! I was able to enjoy the 400gram black angus steak... Brilliant. I've never had such a delicious hot stone before. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Retro music from the times of Al Capone. Great service and and and... Gladly again :)

We often went to the bar on Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. because of the great drinks, beautiful atmosphere and the lovely people behind the bar. Today was the first time we were not allowed to enter the bar because our 1 year old daughter was with us. So the empty bar remained, empty. Apparently the concept has been changed, what a shame!

It's a shame that it wasn't open today, even though it's online until 11 p.m. But it's stupid when you're standing in front of a closed door and we wanted to eat steaks. The times should be adjusted

Order 400g medium beef fillet without hot stone for 65.- Unfortunately, I received a "beef fillet", which was by far the worst I've ever been served.

We made a reservation today and wanted to change from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Instead we were treated disrespectfully and yelled at on the phone. Never again. Such an expensive restaurant but with such staff. Sad!

Top selection of hot stone dishes, wonderful ambience in 20s/30s style. The staff is also dressed appropriately and offers first-class service. The accompanying bar as the icing on the cake completes the evening

The meat was okay, but didn't seem entirely justified for the price. Unfortunately, the risotto Parmigiano didn't taste like anything. It's also a shame that you don't get a single normal lager in the bar, there are only special craft beers. At least one Schüga camp should be possible.

We highly recommend meat on a hot stone. The meat quality is very good. Hot stone is also a specialty of the restaurant. Price-performance is also right. We'd love to come back!

Very good drinks, there was even a non-alcoholic cocktail for the daughter, which was our own creation and tasted similar to Capri Sonne. Ambiance is also really nice. Gladly again

Number one address in St.Gallen for horse steak

I had the lamb tenderloin and it was just superb. Loved it. The pasta was also very good and the tiramisu and chocolate mousse were fantastic. The waiter was also very friendly. All in all, a very pleasant and yummy experience.

My absolute favorite restaurant. It has a cool American feel with a touch of Italian. Pizza, pasta and meat are very tasty 👍🏻 I've eaten in this restaurant countless times. To recommend!! 👌🏻

Meat and service were excellent

It was nice to eat here more often and was actually always more or less satisfied, but today my soup was so salty that I could hardly eat it. I had to go to the toilet three more times after eating to vomit and have diarrhea when I wanted to complain at the end The self-proclaimed "boss" said that I couldn't prove that I was feeling sick because of the food and that her colleague smelled the smell of grass in the toilet, even though I was feeling perfect before. I didn't get a discount, compensation or any concession. I was just laughed at and disrespected Titled by this young man who calls himself a server, my amaretto sour cocktail didn't even have 4cl, maybe no alcohol at all, I feel very bad with stomach cramps etc. I'm thinking about going to the hospital because of suspected food poisoning. All in all, a really wasted evening. I'll never eat in this establishment again I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else who wants quality food and good treatment. You won't find that here...

It's a shame, I used to be a fan of this place. Last Saturday we wanted to go to the restaurant at 11:17 a.m. to have an aperitif and then eat. Well, we were a little early, but that happens. We were kindly informed that nothing was “on” before 11:30 a.m. With all understanding for the problems in the catering industry, but 13 minutes? We then found space at another location where we were very welcome, even if we were a little early.

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant yesterday and I must say that overall I was very satisfied. The food was excellent. The quality of the food was really excellent. The service was great and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I felt like they really went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable time. They were always there when we needed them. The menus were nicely designed, although I have to admit they were a bit too big for more than 2 people at the table and took up a lot of space. Still, it was great to have lots of options to choose from and I was impressed with the variety of dishes. As for the price, I was very satisfied. Overall, I think the ambience of the restaurant could have been a little more subtle and harmonious to improve the overall experience In summary, I was very happy with my visit to this restaurant and would definitely recommend it.

Bad service (very long waiting time).

The bar is expensive but ok. However, the service quality is a bit questionable. After we ordered, a larger group showed up, whereupon the waitress rudely told us that she was no longer interested in our order. When we asked after a little more than an hour whether we could still get our beers, she not only continued to be abusive, but also gave us the middle finger.

We went for ice cream and were pleasantly greeted and served.

We were welcomed and served very friendly. The pizzas we ordered were excellent and topped with fresh ingredients.

Super Service. Very professional advice from Marc. This young man has great potential, highly recommended to go to Al Capone and be served by Marc.

The Al Capone is located in the middle of the city of St.Gallen. Anyone who gets a window seat can enjoy the view of the market square. As this is a main public transport stop, accessibility is excellent no matter where you are coming from. There is also a parking garage in the immediate vicinity. Event catering is offered here and the decoration is 1920s style. The food - various pastas, pizzas and meat dishes - is good, as is the service. In addition, the restaurant is loud, the seating is very tight and you can smell a lot of kitchen after your visit. And not just if you choose a “hot stone dish” through your own fault. In most cases, an early reservation is necessary; the reservation system provides information about this.

Was eating with my girlfriend, it started with the table reservation - the table wasn't free even though it was reserved! Afterwards we ordered, my food (Hot Stone) was not convincing, the fries were cold and the meat was very bad, my drink glass was also extremely sticky... my girlfriend's pasta was not at all convincing, cold at the bottom and gratinated with cheese on top and very hard . Not a second time...

I went to dinner with my friend today. we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. The waiter was very nice and kept asking if everything was okay but the food didn't work at all. My food tasted like it had been warmed up and had way too much basil in it. My friend had meat with a hot stone, but after a short time it became a cold stone. The “cola” didn’t taste like cola either. the glasses were also sticky. the boss was also unfriendly. can walk through the store but can't say hello. He didn't treat the employees that friendly either. I overheard him telling you what to do in a very strict and unfriendly tone.

Unfortunately we only had 2 hours and the food came after 70 minutes, no time left for dessert. We weren't told anything when making the reservation that we would have to vacate the table after 2 hours🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately the price/performance wasn't right for me. . .

The meat was perfectly on point. Starter and dessert also great. So a big compliment to the chef. And a huge thank you to Mark for the perfect service. Keep it up!

I really liked Capone. Especially. the restaurant itself is very well furnished, I really liked the typical American atmosphere and the food was also very tasty, there were several of us and everyone really enjoyed it. Definitely, if I'm ever in the area again, I would eat there.

We had lunch here, argentinian sirloin, on a stone - excellent, it almost melts in your mouth. Service and ambience are also really good. Try it sometime, I can highly recommend it.

Last time it was only 3 stars but since my most recent visit I can only say: Simply wonderful. The steaks are excellent and the bruschetta is simply amazing. Service is also top. The head waiter has a sense of humor and brings dynamism to the shop. I would poach the waiter if I ran a restaurant business. Best regards

Great restaurant with a special atmosphere. Comfortable good chairs. View of the market square from the first floor. Elevator available. Public transport directly in front of the restaurant. Simple online reservation with wish fulfillment. Boss Luca and staff attentive, very friendly and humorous. And the meat on the hot stone is wonderful, as are the side dishes and the homemade dessert. Recommended in every respect.

Reservation of the table is a requirement; Al Capone is very well attended! The four of us spent a wonderful evening. Hotstone meat was excellent and the side dish was fresh. A misunderstanding regarding the wine pairing was also handled very accommodatingly; Thank you very much.

Steakhouse burger had no taste, I got very few fries. Overall very lean. Service was good, although we had to eat in the bar as it was very noisy.

The best meat from the hot stone in the city of St.Gallen. The managing director knows his craft as a host. The drinks in the associated cocktail bar are always great.

Very pretty place that mixes Italy and USA! The original newspaper-shaped card is so good! With articles in it, really well presented! No regrets about having been there! The service was great, the waitress made the effort to speak a little French. We ate well, the “Bonnie and Clyde” service was super good, except the Olives which were a little too salty. We then also had a steak on slate, the sauces were super good and the meat was very tender and well presented.

Great restaurant with a beautiful view of the trams and buses, as well as the usually busy St. Gallen traffic. Nice selection of international beers and great value for money for the Italian dishes. The steak prices are a bit high, but you get quality meat from the US and Argentina. My recommendation for anyone who doesn't know it is to try a tenderloin horse steak on the hot stone! Grill the way everyone wants, with fine sauces and a selection of side dishes. Steaks are available from 200 - 400g so there is something for everyone.

Beautiful little place in St Gallon in Switzerland. As a tourist from South Africa I found the ambience and atmosphere was stunning. As you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff and smiles. We had pizzas and it was delicious and each pizza was enough for 2 adults sharing. The pizzas was delicious. I had the Margherita pizza and it was amazing 👏 if ever I visit St Gallon again I will definitely visit this place 😊
