The ladies are just incredibly rude.

Not many options around the area but this shop has a great value bakery and coffee, even compared to bigger chained store next door

I had a terrible experience at this establishment. The owner's behavior was shockingly rude and even displayed racism towards tourists. I would strongly advise against visiting this place. Do not stop there.

In this cafeteria you will be treated badly and you will pay exorbitant prices. The owners, apart from being very unfriendly, are unprofessional. The coffees are good and the pastries too, but it is not enough to have good products.

Don't waste your time in this place. I am now reading the previous reviews and can understand that my case was not isolated. After having dinner with a friend at another place nearby, I was satisfied but he wanted a coffee so we went to this place. As we sat down he ordered a coffee and when asked what I wanted I said nothing as I had just finished dinner and was just accompanying my friend. It was then that the waitress was extremely rude, treating us badly and saying that if I wanted to sit too I should buy another coffee, and that I couldn't just sit with my friend. We left the place, which was empty, and will never return.

Super rude employee. My wife and I bought three pastries from their bakery and sat to eat them at their tables. We were kicked out because we had a cup of coffee from a nearby vendor. Employee had a major attitude — seems that I'm not the only one to encounter it, either.

Nice little bakery/mini market. Clean environment, tidy place, prices reasonable for Switzerland, helpful staff.. A nice alternative to the very expensive restaurants of the area

Avoid this place. Unfortunately one of the women who works here is psychopathic, and (judging by the myriad of previous negative reviews) probably racist. A word of advice - do not run a hospitality business in a tourist town (where you rely on tourist money) if you hate tourists and are unfriendly, disrespectful and aggressive. You are in the wrong line of work and you are clearly terrible at your job. If you don't like engine noise, don't run a business next to a main road / parking. This time you were very lucky we didn't report you to the police for attempting to damage private property - you know who you are.

Extremely rude. I entered 20 mins before closure. I was greeted by very rude and unwelcoming face saying we are closing. I said I just want to have coffee. Their washroom was locked I requested for keys. She refused upright saying u can't use it. It is cleaned now. It will open tomorrow. Will not recommend this place to anyone. Worst behaviour

Bought a coffee and whilst sharing my coffee with my guest, one of them wanted to use the restroom and the lady serving in the cashier was rude to say you didn’t buy the coffee so you want be able to use the bathroom and must pay 2 franks but we all had coffee sitting down and bought more stuff. She needs a common courtesy lesson. Ruins such great hospitality the rest of the village has provided. Hopefully she learns to use her brain.

We visited on 19 August early morning. The staff was very rude, ill-mannered. I took the key to use the restroom but was unable to lock the door after using it despite trying multiple times. The lady in the staff was rude to me about it even after I explained I tried locking it multiple times but it's jammed. Instead of accompanying me to help me lock the door, she said "No, it's not hard to lock the door, go lock it". When I finally locked the door after struggling for a while, and returned the key, she went and checked if I locked it (clearly displaying mistrust). They need serious training on how to treat customers with respect and politeness. In addition to all the humiliating treatment, the food wasn't good either. The croissants were cold and hard. The chai latte was more like a diluted sugar solution. I would not recommend this coffee shop at all.

On one day the woman working was very kind and welcoming, on another day a different woman was quite harsh and unkind for no reason. She seemed displeased we had solicited her business and told us we "couldnt be there" as we were packing up to leave. Many other reviews have said the same, perhaps she should take this into account. Chai is bad.

Good place for snacks and coffee

As you will see, this bakery is by far an exception to the norm, however you will have to read my other reviews to understand why. My experience here was probably one of my fondest memories of all my time in Switzerland by a land slide. First off, the baked goods and the drinks my friends and I had here were consistently delicious and fresh. Furthermore, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Finally, given the cost of food elsewhere in Switzerland, the value of your francs here went a long way. Truly a great experience. The atmosphere of this bakery and cafe truly reflected the beauty and comfort of the Swiss landscape. Normally, I would finish every review with saying that there's a very reliable and accessible grocery store chain in Switzerland called Co-op and recommend that you go to that grocery store to get food, but I truly believe you should visit this place if you find yourself in Lauterbrunnen.

Rude cashier with glasses..when my child 1.5 years old was talking she she said shhh rudly.. I wish I just cancelled my order at that time ربي لا يوفقها :)

Strategic location in front of the train station, where you can sit and enjoy some coffee and snack.

Staff is a little numb to tourists however, it is open very early for early morning travelers and great selection of pastries, sandwiches, delicious coffee and located next to the train station, bus station and gundela to murren

The two ladies who were working the morning of Apr. 26th were a little rude. The server rudely told me if I wanted another glass of tap water she would have to charge me because they “charge for tap water”. Why on earth would they charge for 4oz. of tap water???!!! They both need customer service skills. Their personalities were tough and stoic.

Nice place to grab coffee and a snack after the train into town.

The staff is rather RUDE! I was here today, just sitting on a chair whilst my friends buying food to takeaway from them. She said, I didn’t buy anything so I’m not allowed to sit. I understood and did not argue but she said it in the RUDEST way and appeared to be racist as well. I hope the MANAGEMENT get to do something with this. This is a tourist area and you’re supposed to be welcoming or at least humane. She is the Beast in the Beauty of Lauterbrunnen Switzerland! 18450H 20/04/2023

Overall, it seems like the Lauterbrunnen Coffee Shop is a great spot to enjoy some tasty treats while receiving excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Prices are not cheap but certainly among the lowest in the area

Very bad service from the waitresses, hostile environment and it seems that you have to ask permission to do anything. It's a shame that you come on a trip and they treat you so badly!!!! And water in Switzerland is free. Because in other places they give it to you for free but here you are stingy

Very bad attention. One of the waitresses is very unpleasant and does not know how to treat her customers with tact or politeness. He told us that they charge for glasses of water when you exceed the free amount they give you for a drink. And he also added: this is Switzerland. Sorry to call you waitress, but right at the hotel across the street when we went to eat the waitress gave us a 1 L jug of water for free and you could refill it. So Switzerland is not like that. It is you who are money grabbers and stingy.

We have come and ordered 3 coffees and cakes. We asked for two glasses of water and they gave it to us. But when we have ordered the third they say that if we order more they will charge us because we cannot drink for free. And the glass of water was from the tap eyeball!! The next time I come (I come a lot) I WILL NOT GO AGAIN. I'm giving it one star because it's mandatory, otherwise I wouldn't even give it one.

Very unfriendly and rude staff. The waitress is a person who is not qualified to be with customers because she is a conceited rude person who is not professional at all. On top of that insulting us!!! Come on, it's a shame that you travel there to be treated so badly. And he treats us like stupid tourists telling us that this is Switzerland 🤣🤣 sorry girl, we live here and the people are more educated than you. Zero recommended. You are left without some very good clients and what we could have taken!!

I had a coffee there and it was good.

Phenomenal pastries and sandwiches, perfect for breakfast or lunch. The owner was very kind and hospitable, she helped us understand the menu better. Highly recommend over any paid hostel breakfast.

I see several comments below about being non-white, probably this is the same reason for us. Very dissapointing experience. This is a one-stop shop for cafe/bakery/convenient store/deli! We grabbed bakery items for breakfast and sat down for local beer from Interlaken. Don’t forget to look at the menu card for soup and pizza options. Great place!

Rude (even by Swiss standards:-)) customer service, probably because we are non-white. We didn’t feel welcome at all. My kid touched the glass of the cake display cabinet and was chastised by the counter lady, who explained she will have to wipe down the display glass now. Also pricey for what they offer. Location is great though, situated right next to the station.

Not to recommend to anyone, very dry and serious staff, not at all friendly, the cakes are from several days ago...

Basically everything was good, unfortunately the service was a bit inattentive… we would have liked to have consumed more.

The service was very nice, the breakfast plate was very meager. Coffee tasted delicious. Toilet was clean and free WiFi upon request. Own free parking space, which in my opinion is very important in Switzerland.

I bought Poulet Burrito, it was tasteless and sad but pastries was okay.

Burrito was nice.. Not many vegetarian options were there.. They just had burrito and veg sandwich..
