Unfortunately there was no lager left in the tank. On Friday night. The pilsner tastes like IPA, which it shouldn't. And it's pretty bad beer. The food was ok. Although not excellent. Wouldn't go there anymore.

Almost 2 stars. Unfortunately the service at lunchtime was very unfriendly. Plates were slammed on the table. The dishes were also rather mediocre, Zurich Geschnetzeltes without cream was very strange. The sweet potato fries were good though. No longer recommended.

We went yesterday to the place. It was fairly occupied. The service seemed only carried out by one person. So the time between visits to our table where not very frequently. However, he was very well organised and the orders where absolut correctly served. Ha actually even remembered who ordered what. The food was average. The burger I had is overpriced and not worth the money. It was stone cold. The french fries remembered of deep frozen standard. So nothing exciting. The ambience of the place is nice. I even left a tip for the waiter. Its probatly not his fault that he was alone. Would I go again? Not really, but if somebody invites me I would say no.

The choice of drinks is generally good and the place well suited for some simple after-work drinks. The burger was, however, made with total absence of love. Blant, lack of freshness, and no roast flavours. The expensive price is not justified, especially since you have to pay extra for the fries and the presentation of the food is uninspiring. We had to wait quite long for our order to arrive (it was weird to see that a group that had arrived after we had placed our orders were served way ahead of us).

Excellent brewery restaurant! They make some excellent ales, don’t miss the weizen. Food is very good as well, tried their soup combo special. Flights are a good way to sample all their beers that they have on tap.

At 8.45pm we were told that the kitchen was closed, a time which I consider scandalous even in Switzerland. A shame because the other times I managed to eat the food was very good, even not exactly one of the cheapest. I've always appreciated their craft beer, but I'm sorry to note that it's a place for Swiss people who eat at 6-7pm :| I don't think I'll be back.

Unfortunately, the unfriendly service left a negative aftertaste during our visit. The receipt was basically thrown on the table. When we cashed out, not a word was said, no thank you, no goodbye. The food was good, but we won't be coming back.

We were there with a group of 10 people and ordered the brewery tour and the 3-course dinner. I was in contact with the managing director Mr. Carpentieri regarding reservations and organization, he is super friendly, you get feedback quickly and everything worked smoothly (we came from Germany)! We received a very warm welcome and we really enjoyed the brewery tour including various beer tastings! The food couldn't be beat!! We will definitely come back next time we visit Zurich, thank you very much 😊

Beers ok, food was slow and mediocre

Beers are good, service is poor.. no interest in sales, you wait for service, had to go to the bar to order, it worked when you ordered twice, but not everything was brought, but it was on the bill.. there is room for improvement ...

We were there for a work event and the food was really good. However, we had to wait a long time for food because we were a group of 20. I cannot judge how it is if in small groups. The food was good. I had the Salmon which was delicious and the sweet potato fries. The garlic knot starter is also excellent. To share the Nachos as a starter are very good!

There were 5 of us who each drank a round of cocktails including 1 bottle of water. Since I wanted more water quickly, I refilled this bottle in the toilet. We were then made very disproportionately aware that we had to pay for this bottle and leave the restaurant. We would have ordered more cocktails and more water but it was our own fault… :)

Reasons for the criticism - Food not brought as agreed - Food was brought incorrectly and we were accused twice of ordering incorrectly - no apologies, rolling eyes and moaning - Food wasn't great either, spare ribs were dry and tough etc. - sat at the table when cashing out... never experienced that either There will be no next time here

We were there for all you can eat wings. For 28.50 you could eat as many wings as you could. There is also a portion of fries. The taste was incredible! Unfortunately the 3rd round was served cold. Employees were super nice and very entertaining! Keep it up 👏🏼 I'll definitely be back

Today we visited with several people for food and drinks. The food was as ordered and good, as was the beer. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. The prices are within the normal range for Zurich and I cannot understand the negative reviews.

Food was ok, price performance too. The pulled beef burger was good, the beef burger was a bit bland, the fries were ok. It's a shame that the fries have to be ordered separately and aren't included in the menu. Staff still has potential for improvement. The toilet facility smelled like a train station, which is a shame in a beautiful and modern restaurant.

Steinfels is great for a beer, I'd recommend their lager if you enjoy the style.

Unfortunately, our local restaurant has gone downhill. Today we were back at Steinfels for a long time. The decor is really nice, the restaurant is clean and the service is very friendly and attentive. The seasonal beer was very tasty and the wheat beer also tasted very good. But the food... that was just sad. We had beef once and veggie burger once. Both were very dry. The Veggi Burger in particular needed a lot of ketchup to eat because unfortunately there wasn't enough sauce. But the veggi patty itself also had a very dry consistency. We will definitely come back for the beer, we can recommend it. There are better burgers down the street at Big Ben ;-)

In the future I will probably have to read Google reviews before ordering. The cauliflower is exactly the same as it was 3 years ago. Taste bland, texture almost like raw, price overpriced (24.50 for half a cauliflower with a small sip of sauce poured over it). Very loud in the restaurant (music much too loud given the already high noise level from all the people). We waited a full 1.45 minutes from arrival until the food came.

I'm not used to the fact that you can't pay separately from the Kramer gastronomy even though you wanted to, not only that but the service wasn't very motivated to serve us. There were around 20 people

Unfortunately, the Steinfels used to be better. The staff was friendly and helpful but rather poorly trained. The restaurant was very full and therefore very loud. The food came in huge portions, the nachos in particular are easily enough for 4-6 people, but with the large main courses there was too much, it's a shame about the food! The dishes were okay but nothing more, my ribs were far dry :( At least the beer is just as good as it used to be!

Beautiful establishment from an aesthetic point of view, accommodating and friendly staff for this midday meal, choice with beer tasting. On the other hand, the food looks appetizing but it lacks taste, very bland, which is a real shame.

As the name of this place suggests, really local and therefore fresh beer is brewed here. And the beer, which is then offered in various varieties by the glass, is really fine. Of course you can also eat here and when the weather is good, there is plenty of space outside.

Had a rough feeling in my stomach after eating the wings - not sure if they haven't stored the blue cheese sauce properly or not washed the celery sticks? Got home an hour ago and have been on the WC ever since. Not cool. Also what kind of beer place has only one flavor of wings? I frequently drink beer and eat wings and this has never happened to me. Weizen beer tasted a bit more acidic than I'd expect from a Weizen beer. Atmosphere was okay, quite chilled for a football night on a Friday. Service was a bit slow but I guess it's meant to be a more upscale place than a dive bar where beer runs fast and shots even faster. I won't be back unfortunately.

Good beer and nice (although noisy at times) atmosphere. But the food was underwhelming: patty in the veggie burges was cold and the burger rather dry. The fries cost extra. In my opinion too expensive for too little value.

Despite making a reservation and showing up on time, our table was not available. We were then able to have another table. It's stupid for those who have reserved this table for themselves. Portions are too small for salmon. I find it a disgrace that you have to pay extra for the side dishes alongside the meat. I'm not sure whether the ribs were actually cooked in the smoker. Normally the bone should easily separate from the meat. The music was too loud. You couldn't eat comfortably and have a normal conversation; you literally had to shout at each other to understand something. But the service was top.

Ordered a sausage and cheese salad. This was completely overpriced and not filling. The staff seemed stressed, but otherwise friendly. However, the restaurant is not recommended for this price/performance... it's a shame.

We, a family of 4, had a very bad experience. Although we reserve a table in advance for dinner/6.30 p.m., mentioning that we are coming with 2 children and asking for a table in a quiet part of the restaurant, we get the first table at the door entrance, just behind the welcome desk, where the guests are received are further divided. The arrogant man at reception didn't even want to hear about changing tables. Finally we are forced to leave. It is certainly not a family-friendly restaurant and therefore cannot be recommended to us.

The service was very bad and unfriendly. We had to order water 3 times before it actually came and the store wasn't nearly full. We also ordered a pitcher, and then 3 came. When we explained that we only ordered one, we were looked at stupidly as if we had made the mistake. When we ordered food, after 20 minutes we were asked: “Sorry, what did you order for food?” Considering that the store was almost half full, it's almost an achievement to be so difficult to serve. It's a shame what happened to the store. Used to be our regular bar. But at least you can still enjoy the food, hence the 2nd star.

I ordered a Stonerock Hamburger with cheese, I have to say that it had no taste at all, it was totally tasteless, my partner's also had a The Mexican hamburger, the only thing that had flavor was the jalapeño. Conclusion... we will not return nor do we recommend it.

I only stopped here because I happened to be in a hotel half a block away, and honestly because this place has the most mixed star reviews of anywhere I’ve ever seen. Here’s a beer enthusiast’s review (note I didn’t try any food given previous peoples experiences): The space itself is nice! The outside area fits what I’ve come to expect from any bar/restaurant in Europe, and the inside is more reminiscent of a cocktail bar than any brewery I’ve ever been to. Service was good too. Beers: Lager: better than any mass produced beer, but I don’t think most people would be able to tell a difference Pilsner: crisp and refreshing! This was hands down my favorite Weizen: good squished banana flavors - no concerns IPA: very malty, perhaps more malty than I would prefer, but it might just be the local palate - very drinkable and delicious Summer Ale: this one I didn’t understand, maybe it’s a light haze pale ale? It confused me and easily the most forgettable I give the place 5 starts because I got good beer cold and quickly in a pleasant space.

After returning to the same place for seven months, the service was no longer as friendly and motivated. The chicken wings were fine but “dry”, not juicy and not a real wing. The first time there the service was nice and quick. In the « Mexican » hamburger the meat was very fine, but lacked salt and spices and the choice of cheese, which didn't melt so well, wasn't optimal. The dessert was good too. The consistency of the cake was dry (like the second time).

We wanted to have a nice birthday meal here. You wait an eternity for the staff, which is pretty uncool especially in the heat when you can't order drinks. When ordering food, the waitress ran away after the first person and had to be made aware that a second person, the birthday child by the way, also wanted to order something to eat. Food was ok so far, value for money was rather poor. The forgotten sweet potato fries were difficult and since there was no staff in sight, it was unfortunately not possible to complain about them before the skin course was eaten. And it wasn't really that busy. That was our first and last visit. Absolutely not recommended.

If I could I would give zero stars. It's just a total impudence - the conditions deducted around 25 francs from us. The conditions were extremely unfriendly, which is why I didn't give a tip. If you like American style, you've come to the right place🤗 absolutely delicious food, sweet potatoes were super tasty, as were the wings. Homemade iced tea in this weather is simply a must. Can only write the review based on a single visit. My impression is mixed. The beer is undoubtedly good, but I only liked the food to a limited extent. The spent grain bread as a starter was good and something different that you don't get that often. However, the chicken wings and ribs platter wasn't as good. On the one hand, the meat was difficult to remove from the small piece of ribs and the chicken wings were also pretty so-so. In my opinion, the price is too high despite Zurich. I paid almost 60 CHF for a small beer plus a normal one and the two dishes

The place is very nice, it feels elegant and the staff are very nice. The food is great, and I especially loved the craft beer. I do recommend it.

Over priced Food, but good beer

Great Weizen beer, good but not great food, portions a bit small (particularly for the price), staff friendly but could be more attentive. Newly renovated, nice location. Neither really liked nor disliked it, it was just a very average experience - especially the food (got the mixed plate - ribs and wings with fries). But if I ever feel like having a refreshing beer, I'll go for another Weizen here.

The restaurant has a nice interior and good ambience. Beer selection and quality is excellent. The burgers, on the other hand, were disappointing and the fries were from the freezer. Service in our case was unmotivated and slow.
