The food was great. Oliver was the host. He really had a bunch of great stories to tell. We had raclette, and it was really good especially with the fire being so comfortable.

The fireplace bar no longer has any atmosphere. Instead of a real fire, the flames snake on a screen. All the cables are on the former fireplace ledge. Hotel guests loudly watch films on their laptops. That's definitely not going to create a mood. Definitely not recommended.

Incredible. Incredible bad! Booked table for 5. We arrived and wasn’t the nice tasty cuisine as expected but my fault for not checking. We ordered 3 schnitzel 1 Thai curry 1 risotto. French waiter brought the risotto on a super hot plate ( carried it with a napkin ) and handed it to one of the guests, even after me telling him to go around and that person hesitating, the person felt pressured in taking it and bruned their fingers, I immediately went after him to let him bring some ice, their was no apology, shame on you, think what your mum would say mr Frenchman. About the food : Schnitzel was incredible thin like 3mm at best( I know it should be thin but there was almost no meat and they curled upwards nicely. Obviously super dry. Then they throw salad on the warm schnitzel, makes it soggy and unpleasant, after asking the waitress ( she was good ) she explained she doesn’t know why someone would put salad on hot food. The Thaicurry was blend and the risotto didn’t had rice and stuck to the plate so that you could lift the plate and turn it around. Lucky you guys we didn’t took photos. Target a next door is more robust but incredibly tasty. Go there.

Its not olny a dinner but real Swiss dinning experience full of stories from locals and great atmosphere.

We had our first 5 star experience in a Wengen restaurant! Salad buffet......good choice, good quality. Tagliatelle......loved it! Vegetable curry ..... my loved the fact that the curry sauce came separately so she could put as much or little as she wanted. I wanted to love it, but the food was just okay. It seemed like each dish we tried was good enough but missing something. Service was great and we had a pleasant enough experience, but not enough to go back during our week in Wengen.

The ambience is good and you’ll have a nice view if they seat you by the window. Unfortunately, they won’t welcome you as warm as you expected from a restaurant which needs a reservation. The only professional and friendly warm waiter is the tall-white man. Not being racist but they did it to us and any other guests. They checked time to time to certain guest (favoritism) not to all guests. We ordered cheese fondue which is not worthy and Thai Curry is okay and still water for 9 CHF.

If you come in winter, it should be good, but if you come in summer, don’t be misled by the photos on the official website. The cabin actually has very little space, and you can sit around the stove. It is really not recommended for people who are afraid of the heat. The dinner price is 75CHF per person, and there are only 3 courses. The starter is a large plate of salad, and the main course is just a few small bowls containing bacon, tomatoes, minced garlic, mushrooms, pickled cucumbers and pineapples, and a large plate of cheese. You have to heat the ingredients by yourself, wait for the cheese to melt, and then eat it with bread/potatoes. It tastes good, but for those who only eat these things all night, or who are not interested in cheese, it will really be a bit unbearable. . The third dish was apple pie, which tasted ordinary. Drinks are included with dinner, but if you’re not a big drinker, it’s actually not a good deal. The cabin can only accommodate 12 people. If there are not enough people, you can dine at the same table with others. If you like to meet new friends, it is a good experience. I brought my parents here this time. They can't eat too much cheese, and I feel that I was misled by the official website. There is no photo of the food on the official website. I saw a photo shared by others on Google, and there was a piece of it. It was a piece of meat, so I thought I would be full, but I was very disappointed. Do I want to eat bread and potatoes to be full? After that, I saw other restaurants in the hotel. The price was only 55CHF, and they already had 4 dishes. Although drinks were not included, at least they were enough to fill you up. If you have children, I don’t recommend coming, because they will hate the stove making them very hot, and the charge for children is not half price. Taking me, 4 adults and 2 children, as an example, the bill is 400CHF, which is really not cheap, and there are other better options. s Choice.

Wir waren Gäste im Sunstar Hotel und haben für einen Abend die Gondel gebucht. Ein sehr romantischer Abend zu zweit.Das Fondue gab es in drei Geschmacksrichtungen mein Favorit“ Pilze mit Trüffelöl „!grossartig für nur 148 CHF inklusive Wein ein sehr fairer Preis für ein einziges Erlebnis. Vielen Dank an Olivier für den tollen Abend.

Ein einzigartiges Erlebnis.Wenn Sie gehen, lassen Sie Ihre Jacke, Schals usw. draußen - es ist gemütlich, aber ein bisschen rauchig im Inneren. . . .

Wir buchten eine Reservierung für 3 und als wir ankamen, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass wir mindestens 8 sein mussten und es war natürlich voll. TripAdvisor-Infos auch unvollständig.

Whilst we did not stay at the hotel, we enjoyed the restaurant so much, we went back to it again! First we tried the bar food at the Hotel on one night. It was quite delicious and staff were friendly and helpful and had a great atmosphere ( even though it had rained that afternoon!). We tried the main restaurant which had formal setting but the quality of the food and service was very good again.

A personal, interactive and cosy setting with an amazing variety and excellent local knowledge of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our raclette evening getting to know more about Wengen and the surrounding areas and about the other people who were participating in the raclette evening. There was also a great choice of schnapps to finish the night off!

During our trip to Wengen, we saw pictures of the Grillkota at the Sunstar Hotel throughout the town. We were very excited and knew we had to book a reservation. We found out that on most nights you actually need to book the grillkota with a group of 8 people. Since we were just a couple of two, we figured our chances to eat there were gone.Fast forward to a few nights later, we ended up meeting the fantastic hotel manager Oliver. He is an amazing individual and we quickly became good friends. He informed us that on certain nights of the week, they have open reservations for the grillkota, and that you can put your name on the reservation list. If enough people sign up, then they will host a dinner in the grillkota! We were thrilled and put our name in right away. Reservations are made at the front desk of the hotel. The staff instructed us to check back in the next day to confirm if enough reservations were made.We were thrilled to be confirmed for dinner on our last night in Wengen. We were greeted at the hut by Oliver with a delicious glass of a local white wine. The hut is so incredibly cozy. It's like your own personal cabin with a fire pit in the center. They served the most AMAZING cheese fondue that we have had in our lives. We are vegetarian, so they made sure we had generous amounts of bread, warm potatoes, and apples to dip into the fondue. It was absolutely delicious. Oliver is a wonderful host, and a wonderful human being. He has had such an interesting life and told us many wonderful stories throughout the night. We really appreciated his generosity and time. He helped orchestrate an evening for us that we will never forget!

Saw fondue night advertised on outside of hotel Sunstar so decided to book. Had a great night with a small group of others with log fire and served a 3 course meal including wine and water. Would highly recommend. Oliver was a great host with lots of local knowledge and history about the area and Europe. Would be even better on a snowy day with glühwein! Check it out if in Wengen!

Eine große Gruppe von uns aßen hier und hatten eine tolle Zeit, mit köstlichen Raclette (Fleisch und Käse Optionen) und wurden sehr gut von unserem Kellner Willy betreut. Es ist Teil des Sunstar Hotels, aber für Nicht-Residenten ebenso wie für Residenten zugänglich.

Wir waren im Juni von 2017 Wengen und wurden mit eines der besten Mahlzeiten auf unserer Reise im Sunstar Hut. Die warme, rustikales Ambiente war der perfekte Kompliment an die köstlichen Wein/Essen Begleitung. Sie werden auf jeden Fall nicht verhungern hier und es ist seinen Preis wert. Oliver war ein toller Gastgeber und hat uns auch ein paar andere Empfehlungen in der Gegend.

Super Erfahrung, super Essen und viel Spaß, großzügig organisiert unser Hauswirt Oliver. Ich werde es wieder tun als wir wieder in dieses tolle Hotel.

Een 'tuinhuisje' met open vuur waar je met 10 personen kunt bbq-en of kaasfonduen. Alles mooi aangekleed met schapevachtjes en kussentjes. De kok helpt met het vlees garen en komt af en toe de wijn bijschenken. We hadden een briljante avond met 2 gezinnen. Iets beters vind je niet in Wengen.

8 von uns hatte die Grillkota für den Abend. Wir entschieden uns für das Classic Grill Menü. Man bekommt ein gemischter Gemüsesalat, gefolgt von einem Barbecue mit Hähnchen, Schwein, Spare Ribs und Würstchen mit gebackenen Kartoffeln. All dies ist für Sie von einem unterhaltsamen Koch. Ich brauche wohl nicht zu sagen, dass das Bier und Wein fließt frei zu bewegen, und wenn Sie Kinder haben sie können so viel Lärm machen wie sie wollen.Alles in allem ein super ausgehen - vielen Dank, Willy der Koch für super Service.

Dieses Resort ist toll. Direkt beim Check in, der Empfang war warm und einladend. Bei der Ankunft erhielten wir einen gratis Glühwein und Oliver der GM war es uns persönlich zu begrüßen sind innerhalb weniger Minuten zu erreichen. Die Hälfte Meal Plan, das mit der Pause Buchungen ist fabelhaft. Wir nahmen an einem Abend das Raclette Hut. Was für ein unglaublicher Konzept. Die Hütte ist klein und Circular von außen. Einmal von innen, der Platz ist gemütlich und warm bildet eine runde Kamin. Das Innere ist aus Kiefernholz Holztäfelung. Wir waren begeistert und möchte in unserem Hinterhof bauen eines in Arizona. Oliver, der GM, dass hört nie auf, war mit uns die ganze Nacht und war so eine sehr liebenswürdig und zuvorkommend Freude. Unser Zimmer, wenn auch klein, war komfortabel und kam ausgestattet mit Balkon mit Blick auf die spektakulärsten Lauterbrunnen Tal und die umliegenden Berge. Unsere kostenlose Minibar war jeden Tag aufgefüllt. Das Sunstar ist günstig gelegen an der Main Street Wengen und hat einen Abholservice vom Bahnhof. Es ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt von der Männlichen Seilbahn führt zu einer der wichtigsten Skigebieten in der Region. Ich würde wieder hier übernachten und empfehlen es nur für den Service allein! Vielen Dank, dass Sie Oliver für unseren Aufenthalt zu einem außergewöhnlichen Erlebnis.

Meine Frau und ich hatten eine tolle Zeit mit Oliver und die anderen Gäste. Die Atmosphäre war das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Oliver war ein toller Gastgeber und er machte den Abend Spaß. Die Hütte war sehr elegant und komfortabel. Am Ende der Abend hatten wir neue Freunde gefunden. Dies war eines der besten Abenden, die wir je hatten, der in Wengen. Wenn ich wieder einmal in der Gegend in der Zukunft würde ich wirklich gerne dies wieder machen. Dies war die Nummer 1 in Wengen Sache, die ich schon seit hier: ) . . . . . . . . . .

The food was great as much as you can eat, half a bottle of wine each person, light starter before hand. the Hut and open fire is amazing! an experience like no other.

Einzigartige Erfahrung, mit erstklassigen Essen, Oliver war ein super Gastgeber! Muss sagen, dass man muss es erst erleben Hand! Konferenz eine andere Familie war auch sehr angenehm.

We attended a craft beer event at the Grillkota. It was fun and informative. I don't even drink beer and I had a great time. They explain the history of types of beers, the difference between types of beer, and (my favorite part) how to pair beer with various foods. The beer "samples" were very generous portions. The Grillkota only seats about 10 I think so sign up early as seating is limited. The seats are bench style around a fire pit. I believe they have other events at the Grillkota. I would highly recommend any event. It's a fun location and the hosts are very welcoming.

Während des Aufenthalts in der Sunstar Hotel in Wengen, wir aßen einen Abend in ihren Outdoor Hütte, wo unser Gastgeber, Oliver,, ein tolles kulinarische Erfahrung kombiniert mit seinen lokalen Geschichten, Humor und Wengen Geschichte.Alle Zutaten wurden zur Verfügung gestellt, und wir unser Essen zubereitet in klein Metallplatten über einen offenen Kamin. Jedes bietet beinhaltet zur Festlegung Käsesorten auf Ihr Gemüse oder Fleisch zur Auswahl. Ähnlich wie Fondue, aber viel mehr Unterhaltung.Der Hut nur Platz für 8 Personen, und so ist es zu empfehlen frühzeitig zu buchen.Vielen Dank an Oliver und Sunstar Hotels für eine unvergessliche Erfahrung!

Die Grillkota kann ich nur jedem ans Herz legen. Wir haben in diesem Hüttchen einen unvergesslichen Abend verbracht. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach klasse, das Essen super lecker und die Stimmung mit dem Feuer in der Mitte unbeschreiblich. Auf alle Fälle ein Highlight des Urlaubs!!Ohne Reservierung nicht möglich!

Nach einem warmen und persönlichen Empfang machten wir es uns als Gruppe in der Grillhütte gemütlich. In der Mitte des runden Raumes steht ein offener Kamin auf dem jeder verschiedene Grillköstlichkeiten in geselliger Runde Grillen konnte. Sehr freundlich und Aufmerksam war auch der Service. Im ganzen ein gemütlicher Abend in spezieller Atmosphäre!
