Quality of the food is top notch, as is the ambience. Unfortunately, the service seemed stressed (with 2 customers at the counter) and only partially friendly (no “good day” but “the next one” after paying, no “thanks, goodbye” etc. but “the next one”). Still recommended because of that good products.

I've been coming here regularly for a coffee for over a year and I always feel very comfortable: the team is very friendly and accommodating, the service is good and quick, the atmosphere is small but cozy - even on cold winter days it stays pleasantly warm here. I like to come again and again! :-)

Food 10/10. Service loses a point. Because the waiting times are long and there was only one lady behind the counter even though the bakery was crowded. We had to go somewhere else. The coffee machine was also broken. Unfortunately no information from the employee. It can happen, but it would have been nicer to clarify. I think the atmosphere is nice. One star deducted because the table wobbled enormously.

Since I have my dog ​​(puppy) with me and only to quickly order breakfast (which would take 2-3 minutes), a saleswoman made it clear to me today that my dog ​​is not welcome. I've been coming to Sutterbegg Pratteln often for a few years and I've noticed that for 2-3 months the atmosphere there has been very good, there's a very good service and team working there. Food A1 but the staff doesn't work properly from time to time. I had been waiting for 3 minutes even though there was only one person in front of me. Of course, this is not an advantage next to a train station where 90% of people have to "stress" on the train. I've often had to run away because I had to wait too long for my train and every morning I allowed at least 4 minutes for what should be enough for 2 croissants.

I am a regular customer at the branch in Pratteln and I have observed several times how customers complain about the staff for no reason or sit with dogs in the branch and when they are told that the dog is not allowed to lie on the seat, they get angry and look for a conflict with the staff! My impression of the staff is very friendly, reliable and always positive! The person who really stands out with her positive energy and friendly demeanor and greetings is the lady with short black hair who speaks standard German. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but it could well be that she is the branch manager! When faced with the greatest stress, she always stays calm and keeps an overview

Basically, I am a satisfied customer and visit several Sutter branches in Basel every week. A cappuccino costs CHF 5.20, which is OK even given the size of the cup on offer. However, last time I had the experience that I received a (much smaller) cup of cappuccino for the same price. When I asked why this was the case, I was told that customers were supposedly complaining about the cup size being much too large for a cappuccino and that this has now been changed (I doubt it). You have to let me know if you want a bigger cup. That seems a bit strange to me, because after I asked the question they both gave each other a strange look. Before one could react, she was stopped by the other... well, I didn't think anything of it and went to the branch at Karl-Barth-Platz 2-3 days later. They in turn gave me the normal cup size for the price. 1 week later I also received the “normal cup size” for the price in Basel Wettsteinplatz. In this regard, the statement appears to be a lie. Very dubious behavior.

Hello everyone, this little review goes out to everyone who is interested, both critics and the many who simply feel at home in SutterBegg Pratteln. I've often sat in coffee shops for 35 years, that's what my job entails. In these I conducted many conversations for interviews. These days I often work in Pratteln, yes, exactly in the SutterBegg bakery/coffee shop near the train station, which is why it is wonderfully located. There are mistakes everywhere, everyone has them, be they critics or well-intentioned people, be they random customers or the people working behind the counter. Whether rich or poor, politicians or so-called ordinary people. There is always something to criticize if you want to criticize. Maybe you're actually unlucky. In the hustle and bustle, difficult situations can arise or the item you want is sold out. Annoying. But let's be honest: When three or even four people fight for the seats behind the narrow counter in order to fulfill the customers' diverse wishes, it can sometimes become nervous. It's not easy to do everything perfectly. No matter what goes wrong, I generally feel comfortable here, like to have a drink, enjoy the baked goods, which are always fresh, appreciate their taste and find friendly staff who try to fulfill my every wish as far as possible. I don't give the 5 stars out of goodwill, but because I've been a guest here since it opened and have received good service without exception. When I compare this with other restaurants, the team and the offering here are definitely impressive. Nobody has to hide. Everyone has less good days. It's easy to say: Then you shouldn't be in front of customers in a job like this, this staff should always be impeccable, always smiling and always courteous. Hand on heart: we're not always like that. Why not smile anyway, even if someone looks grumpy or is curt? After so many hours of standing and walking back and forth, fulfilling wishes, putting up with the stupid customers that exist, only a few can always live up to the image of always friendly service. We couldn't do that either. So please, a little more patience, a little more goodwill, a little more understanding. And why not practice a little more self-criticism or a friendly smile? Friendliness looks good on everyone, including us customers. As we call into the forest, so it sounds back, says a proverb. So, let's take this to heart and stay friendly ourselves, even or especially when the other person doesn't really get it right. There is hardly any ill intent. It's exhaustion, frustration over bad customer behavior, headaches, your own life that you can't always turn off like a toggle switch. In any case, I still really enjoy going to Prattler SutterBegg. Baked goods are A1. Coffee I have the feeling that there are no recipes, staff just do it that way. I once worked in a counter-service café and what I noticed was that the staff used completely incorrect procedures. So it happens that even on a Sunday morning, a simple coffee takes up to 2 minutes (far too long). This is how it works at Sutter Begg Pratteln: Coffee order is taken --> price is typed --> customer is asked if there is anything else to go with it --> pastries are packed --> payment is completed --> staff is preparing (only now !) the coffee. The fact that the coffee is prepared at the end is absolutely inefficient. Possible reasons for this process: - Coffee could get cold, that's why it is prepared at the end (--> with the porcelain cups, the coffee will withstand that, so this worry is completely unfounded) - it only has one cash register and it would be blocked if someone else wanted to type (I understand, but on Sunday morning that shouldn't be a reason) Suggestion: The staff should prepare the coffee and during this time the guest has another chance to check the counter. The payment process can then be completed and the coffee is already on the counter. There should definitely be a rethink here. Since I have now observed this procedure with several people on several days, I assume that the store management ordered this workflow. Therefore an appeal to the store management: please change! This really bothers me. Thanks.

I'm a guest every day. Sutter-Begg. I always receive friendly and nice service. The staff is courteous. As you call into the forest it comes back. People who stand at the counter talking on the phone are there every day and probably expect a laugh? Do those who complain that the staff don't laugh all day in their job laugh?

Unfortunately, service has decreased here after Corona, it couldn't be more unfriendly. Unfortunately, the toilet is away from home.

I am a regular customer in Sutter Beg Pratteln and really enjoy going there, but for the past 4-5 months the staff there has been overwhelmed, unfriendly, very unprofessional, no matter what time you go, the staff greets customers in a very annoyed manner. The tables are often overflowing with dirty dishes, people say the eye eats with you, when you ask them to, even though there are no customers in the bakery, they come with an annoyed facial expression. The pastries are no longer as fresh as they once were. I think it's a shame that the bakery has slacked off so much.

The serving and taste of coffee are excellent! It would seem like a cafe at a bus stop, but I liked that each cup of coffee comes with a glass of water. We bought a schnitzel bread and a currybängel, unfortunately neither were convincing, the taste and quality were subpar, every gas station makes better sandwiches. The currybängel consisted of soggy bread, an unpleasant curry sauce and a thin slice of ham. The schnitzel bread also consisted of the above-mentioned soggy bread, a very spicy cocktail sauce and a dry schnitzel. Sutter Begg used to be a great bakery, unfortunately quantity seems to have replaced quality.

We buy something from Sutter Pratteln almost every day, be it on the way to work or at the weekend. The products are very fine and the ambience is also very nice. I think it's a shame that you don't accommodate customers who come so often and offer them a mask because they forgot it just once. The mask was then sold to me (!). In addition, the friendliness of the young lady leaves something to be desired; you are treated as if you had committed a crime. It's a shame that they drive away such regular customers. Next time I'll take a pack of mask and give it to them, then they can sell it. If there is a next time...

It's just ok. The staff are slow and not (quite) friendly. The location is great, and their products like everywhere else in their chain are fine, but it seems lack-luster customer service is to be found in several of their regional stores. It was a similar experience in their Dornach outlet.

When we visited, the service first came straight away and then didn't come at all. Only when we reminded again that we would like to order did we get a reaction. When ordering, the service staff left an unsympathetic impression when certain dishes were not on the menu. Conclusion: the focus is sometimes set incorrectly. If there are 3 guests waiting, clearing the tables cannot be the first priority. Dishes that are not offered should be removed from the menu, as this will also annoy guests.
