Taj Mahal in Zürich

I ordered through the restaurant's website. I received a confirmation directly by email that my order had been received, but without specifying a delivery time. When the food still wasn't there after 60 minutes, I called and was told (not very believably) that there was a problem with the machine and that my order would take at least 50 more minutes. NO THANKS! There wasn't even an apology. I canceled my order over the phone and the employee told me to cancel by email as they couldn't do it themselves, which I found hard to believe. I wrote an email straight away and 5 days later I still have no answer. I just want my money back. NOT RECOMMENDABLE! Update: I have now received my money back. Thank you.

The Food was VERY Delicious and the personal was VERY kind! I defenetly recomend it!

The buffet at lunchtime was empty and not refilled. However, they were happy to offer us a table. Very unfortunate.

A luxurious Indian restaurant with late service

There were 8 of us and we were squeezed into a table for 6 while the restaurant was practically empty. You can also scare away the guests like this. The tables and chairs in this restaurant are so tightly spaced that you can't stand up if you sit against the wall. We wanted to get some naan at the buffet, but there wasn't any left there, the staff said they would be there soon. But it wouldn't have occurred to them to stop by the table and serve naan. No, as a guest you have to get up again (even if you can't because it's so tight) and go to the buffet. Overall, lousy service.

Brilliant. Just genius. We ordered several dishes. I've usually always had bad experiences with Indian food, but this one really tasted great. As of today, Taj Mahal is my new favorite Indian restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the great food.

The food was excellent. Service and advice is also excellent. There are a few deductions on the bill because not everything was listed. But as an honest customer I mentioned this.

I waited 2 hours for the food, after 2 hours the delivery person called me 3 times from the wrong address and said he was here. I went downstairs 3 times and no one was there, I explained to the delivery person who didn't speak German and to his boss that they were at the wrong address, 3 times. Then we claim that I'm joking, next time we'll take the customer more seriously when he says you're wrong.

I only tried their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. it's a good Indian restaurant. all foods were perfectly cooked. the mixed vegetables and fish are particularly good. rarely seen such good and well prepared basmati. impeccable and very attentive service. for this price in Zurich this restaurant is a gem. I would come back without hesitating

Samosa are good. Goat Biryani is excellent. Shrimp Masala is good too. Dishes are shareable between two people. Daal was a little too bland for my taste, so may be skip that. Highly recommend it for Indian food.

We've been waiting for our food for 1.5 hours, according to the app the order should already be with us. No one answers the phone, i.e. only the voicemail comes. Simply impossible. Addendum: the food arrived 5 minutes after our review, but without the naan we ordered and paid for. As an apology we had a mango lassi... well, we would have preferred to have the naan we ordered, for which we at least paid 5.50

One of the best indian (Halal) restaurants around Zurich i ordered food online and he brought Mango lassi as a gift with my order, it was so delicious.

Very friendly staff, the food was really tasty, hygenic restaurant with clean toilets.

We were there on Sunday and I have to say it was the best Indian restaurant we have visited in Zurich so far. The service was also exemplary. We will definitely come back, thank you very much Edit: after a year and many visits, still the best Indian restaurant far and wide, never been disappointed. If you don't try it, it's your own fault

I grew up with South Asian cuisine and for me this is one of the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants I have ever visited in Zurich (or Switzerland). Tasteful, authentic and not distorted and good value for money for the very large portions. Tip: try the “Barfi” as a dessert! We'd love to come back!

I don't want to be rude but it was one of the worst expérience I had in an indian restaurant. We were about 9 people and the food took forever to come. Literally they took around 1 hour 20+ minutes to serve us and we were the only table in the restaurant at the time of ordering. They seems like giving priorities to take aways and deliveries. I thought Geneva was very expensive but this small restaurant in zurich has one of the most high prices in Switzerland, I would say. Never seen vegetarian dishes this much expensive. The only good thing was the food tasted nice. Nothing exceptional though. Dissapointed. Not recommended.

Food fantastic. I really enjoy going there to get takeaway lunch when in the office as the food containers are really large and for 15chf it is a bargain for what you get. Really cool. Friendly staff. A bit small room. Else great!

Mega tasty with super friendly service!!! My first experience with Indian food was entirely positive. We ordered 4 different main menus - all of them were special in their own way and totally delicious👍 The starter “PAKORA” served with three different sauces was simply great. As a dessert, “almond parfait” with a little rose water flavor is the crowning glory. I found it very nice that the main menus were served in small bowls. So you could try it out.😊 There was also a warmer on the table to keep the food warm. We'll be back & I can recommend it with a clear conscience. Many thanks to Umar & team for the lovely lunch. Decent Indian with delivery service. Butter chicken was good along with Tikka masala and pakoras. Was not a fan of the sheesh kabab however.

Ordered food with just-eat and it was so good!! Good balance of spices and the panir form the tandoor oven was delicious. Will definitely eat again from there. But: could you please write somewhere that all main dishes come with rice? We werent sure and ordered extra rice, ended up with too much!

My husband and I went to the Taj Mahal for the first time yesterday and definitely not the last time. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive. It's a shame, we don't live in this area, we would be regular customers :) We'll be back...see you soon!

We thought the shish kebab was too poorly seasoned, not a classic one, unfortunately... 2. the papadam wasn't exactly worth mentioning 3. Appetizer plate even worse Price quality pretty bad!!!

A very pleasant culinary experience: the refined tastes of India are present and we enjoy without restraint. The view from the small terrace is not the most fantastic, but the kindness of my host more than made up for it! The prices are... Zurich 😉 so prefer the lunch buffet which is more affordable...

Just ordered Palik Paneer. I can't believe how unappetizing it was. I am sure that the restaurant also has great dishes and that the many satisfied guests have rightly given their positive reviews. However, the Palik Paneer was ridiculous, spinach from the freezer with rice, nothing else, and that for a price of just under 26.- That's really not ok. There wasn't a single onion or tomato in it, it was literally just frozen spinach with rice.....never had anything like that delivered... Never again 🤷

Can also be ordered directly to your home via Just Eat. The portions are generous and taste excellent! Our favorite is the Panir Masala. If you love garlic, you can order the Garlic Naan with it. The service is also very attentive, courteous and entertaining.

Really good Indian food considering it is Zürich. And also reasonably priced for Switzerland. I would suggest writing a comment with your order to indicate if you can eat normal Indian spicy. My vindaloo was a bit mild compared to what I would find in Brick Lane or W Devon Ave… Super friendly staff who can speak English as well as German. And open on Sunday afternoons to warm up when it is cold and dreary outside! :)

First of all, the food was good. We had the butter chicken with Naans. But I'd remove the 2 stars for the service quality. While there were only two tables on the terrasse, we had to wait a long time to order (despite the waiter going multiple times to the table next to ours). The waiter was not really competent, he removed the glass while it was not empty, was clumsy,..) I would not go back there. They are better indian restaurant nearby with better service.
