This is not the first time they messed up my orderr. Tonight I ordered food via uber-eats - got the wrong dish delivered /something completely different/ - when calling the restaurant they blaimed it on the delivery driver (I paid extra for priority delivery, and was the only dish the driver had) that he made a mistake. Uber only refunds and doesn't allow re-ordering - when reordering I have to pay another 8 franks for delivery. so last time I ordered here (and was a regular guest and orderer.)

The food was very delicious. The service workers even let us in and served us 1 hour before closing time. Super kind of you and definitely not a given! 😊👍

Hi , Had visited this restaurant for Women’s day celebration .. Beautiful restaurant with amazing ambience.. Restaurant service is superb .. We tried Indian delicacies and they were yum .. specially the Biryani and starter platter .. Overall wonderful experience . The Owner creates quite a gastronomical experience.. The Cheesecake was the icing on the top..

Hello all , I had visited this restaurant last month when holidaying in Zurich with my family ,we had a wonderful experience ,its a beautiful fine dine restaurant ,amazing ambience and yummy food...A special mention of Vegetable kofta and biryanis they were to die for ..Humble staff and great chefs ..must visit restaurant in Zurich for exceptional dinning...Love Ishika

Never order online from them...they show you 45mins time for food preparation but they will prepare the order in 2 hrs and then hand itover to logistics provider and blame it on them .. extremely poor.

The food is very special, you have to like it. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated. It was very cold in the restaurant and became uncomfortable after a while.

Quite disappointing food. Nowhere near as flavorful as you'd expect from Indian cuisine and dishes didn't really match the description in the menu. The paneer was dry and the rice (which is not included but costs an extra CHF 4.50 for a small bowl, despite the main dishes being rather pricey) was dry as well. On top of that, the restaurant felt very crowded with tables placed too tightly and it was so loud that it was sometimes hard to hear what the person on the other side of the table was saying. Maybe the fact that we saw no Indian customers should have been a warning. Needless to say that we won't be coming back.

We really liked this Indian restaurant a lot! 🇮🇳 The atmosphere and decorations were wonderful, the food was delicious and the waiters very kind and attentive. There were plenty of Vegetarian and Glutenfree options, all well labeled. Thank you, we'll be back! 🙏🏼

Dine carefully… While the food is great, it can be very VERY spicy. So please insist to the waiter(s) that you don‘t want it spicy. Also, waiting times are long, and for some reason, our group of six had to live with only one menu, while the party of three next to us was given a menu each (?!). If you get what you asked for, it‘s great! I had the butter-chicken, and it‘s super delicious. The mango-lassi was to die for!

My fish curry was so spicy that I could hardly judge whether it was still edible. Anyway, I felt very uncomfortable after eating. Although I like spicy food, I don't find it reasonable at these prices (rice is charged separately).

Food was ok. Price way too high compared to even better indian restaurant (e.g. 1L water = CHF 10). Venue was nice. Service was not great. I asked for a beer 2 times. I asked for NOT spicy meal but they probably ignored it.

Very authentic and delicious Indian food from starters to dessert and then with super friendly staff. I can heartily recommend it if you're in the mood for a taste explosion again, which you can experience with the classics like Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan!

My first visit to Tamarind Hill was characterized by very friendly and attentive service. There is a large selection of authentic dishes. We had the lentil soup and avocado as starters. Both surprisingly light and fresh. Afterwards the traditional chicken curry and potatoes with cauliflower, also very good. Be sure to try the naan with garlic, onions and coriander. Thank you

Hands down, this is the best I have eaten in my entire 10 days of Switzerland trip and trust me I have been many Indian so called authentic places.People here are so hospitable.The vibe is perfect and food is delicious. Chicken samosas and kheema nan’s should be on your table. 🥂😄

If you’re looking for a really good service, and really sweet people, you can dine here. However, if you’re looking for authentic high-quality Indian food, unfortunately, this place missed the mark. We ordered four things off the menu, and none of them were even close to being average. As you are well aware, Switzerland is an expensive country to visit and a dine. So I would do a little more research and dine at a restaurant that is a little bit more of a sure shot.

Coming from India and then Bay Area, we had high expectations from the food. The food was really good! We had the kadhai paneer and dal tadka, both were very tasty. A couple things to note are the portions are fairly small. The sabzi was almost not enough for the two of us. The service staff is very friendly and the ambience is pretty good as well!

I have a high point of reference for Indian cuisine, and Tamarind Hill passes it with flying colors. The food is fragrant and flavorful, and with an attentive staff and and authentic atmosphere, it is difficult to find fault in the place. We had the mixed boryani, a chicken tikki masala, and their "spiciest" lamb dish. All were great, but you should note that the spice levels are set for the lower level of European tastes. Also, a word of caution regarding the Mumbai lime drink. It somehow tastes like eggs, but that's part of its unique charm.

2 days ago we were as a group of boys at your restaurant. In the process, my brother and I took butter chicken. Turns out that was a bad decision as we both got food poisoning. Better make sure how fresh the meat is before you give it to the customers.

We loved it. The atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious and plentiful and the staff is excellent, super friendly. They offer ready-made menus to share, which is the best way to try a bit of everything and enjoy eating together. They also helped us so that my daughter could eat something, as she would not have accepted the spicy dishes offered on the menu for the little ones, they gave her cucumbers, rice and bread. Maybe I would just suggest more flexible menus so it's not all meat, chicken or fish but vegetables. The best Indian restaurant I have tried in Zurich.

Very spicy food! In Zürich, you don’t really find Indian places, but after a week of touring with no Indian food, this is what I needed! 10/10 food must try for everyone!

Went with my wife and eight year old son. The food and service are first class. The Mango Mint soup is hugely innovative and a must try. We tried the vegetarian Biryani and the Palak phool as well which were very well prepared.

It’s sad I’m having to write a bad review. If their customer service was good, this wouldn’t have happened. On Tuesday, two friends and I chose Tamarind Hill for our dinner plan. The ambience was nice and the food presentation and service were great. However, the next morning I had to vomit and it was clear that it was the food from Tamarind Hill. When I asked the other two friends, one of them also had to vomit in the morning. So I emailed them on Wednesday regarding the food poisoning and still haven’t gotten a reply. I haven’t been feeling well since this incident. This is super unprofessional especially in such a sensitive matter. Clearly something from their ingredients was off.

Highly priced, average food taste, small portion size. After reading multiple positive reviews online, we arrived here with decent expectations. But the food and service needs a lot of improvement. Menu prices are at par with Haus Hilt but the experience is nowhere near it. Portion sizes are ridiculously low in comparison to the price. Overall review is 2/10.

Postive: The one postive was that the server checked if any of the dishes could be made Jain. That's where the postives end. Negatives: 1) We ordered the Avocado Sev puri. There were only 4 puris and they didn't have any Sev, there was only a token sprinkling of moong dal. The avocado in the avocado Sev puri actually makes the taste worse as in the middle of some really decent chutney flavour you get a bland burst of avocado. This dish would have been way better being a simple Sev puri. 2) Steam rice. The steam rice which ideally should have nothing but rice for some reason had elaichi which made the taste of rice really weird and made it worse with a bland dal makhani. 3) Dal makhani was bland 4) Shahi mix veg was okay 5) Portion size were really small. I realise this is Switzerland but no other Indian restaurant we ate at in Switzerland has portion sizes this small. Overall absolutely no value for money.

Always a very friendly welcome, super special atmosphere and the food is fine, slightly different from the other Indian restaurants - perhaps a little less authentic but tasty and a change. Plus, the selection of dishes is extremely large!

I had the pleasure of dining at Tamarind Hill Indian Restaurant in Oerlikon. We have been there before, but this time the atmosphere was quite different. There was loud Indian music playing, and the restaurant was full of Indian guests. I thought it might be a wedding, but one of the guests told me it was a party for the Imperial Club members of India. I was a little hesitant at first, but I'm so glad I decided to stay. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was festive and fun. It was great to be surrounded by other Indian guests and to experience a more authentic Indian dining experience. To top it all off, the staff offered us free drinks to apologize for the loud music and crowded restaurant ! This was a very nice gesture but seriously why apologize? That was a good different experience! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic and not very expensive Indian meal.

We ordered catering from Tamarind Hill for a family event and it was fantastic. The delivery and collection worked perfectly and the staff was very friendly. The food was a huge hit with all of our guests. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

First of all, this was my favourite Indian restaurant out of all Indian restaurants I have visited in Switzerland so far. However, suddenly I started seeing a degradation in food and service from last 6-7 months.

Compliments to the Chef. Wonderful preparations of Indian food. Rarely found in Europe. So many Indian restaurants pass off substandard food as Indian food. Tamarind Hill is truly one of a kind. And compliments to the Service Staff for some exemplary service.

Food was great! Service was extraordinary. We asked for some recommendations on the menu and they suggested great options. They even accomodated our special requests in food and drinks. Truly recommend to try this restaurant.

Although I'm not normally a fan of Indian food, I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised at how DELICIOUS the food was! Price a little more expensive - we ended up spending around CHF 200 for 3 people. - Recommendation (my favorites): Starter: Tamarind Lamb fry & Lasuni Mushrooms Main course: Butter chicken & Garlic Naan & Garlic Onion Coriander Naan The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Above all, they wore traditional clothing, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
