Never before I went to a bar as racist, xenophobic and prejudiced as this one last night. The bouncer and the woman who stands with him at the door are extremely arrogant, uneducated, blackmailing and bargaining with customers to get in, barring customers and then laughing at us. If you take the time to dress up and have a happy evening, don't go to this unscrupulous place!

Funny - this used to be a cool easy going after work bar - now they try to be a hip club with wanna be bouncers who excert their power over who they want to let in and who can not enter - too bad that the owners have let it come this far...

The place was very diverse and that was the bar's biggest difference at night. Now they have an extremely racist, xenophobic and arrogant policy. The situations I saw were very clear, even among my group of friends. They tried to blackmail and extort us at the entrance. They said that if we didn't leave our wives at the barbershop next door and pay 3 francs, we wouldn't get in. We decided to go to another one! It's not about the 3 francs, but the attitude is the bad character of creating a rule to benefit from profits without possible communication, attention and especially "service" because there are many better bars in Zürich. The bar is a nightclub because it plays mainly Latin music and Latinos are left out!

I've always been there! But both times I went they were charging and bargaining for entry. If you don't pay to leave your coat at the barbershop next door, they won't let you in. The woman and the security guard were extremely arrogant, saying that if you don't leave your coat and pay for it, you won't get in. Absurd! Disrespectful to people who have been going there for years. I will never go back and I will use my group of friends to tell others not to go there.

Very fine food and served very quickly. Great service and very nice staff😉 Excellent coffee.

I've been to this bar a few times, and most of the time it was okay, except for a few staff members who were slightly rude. But this Saturday, when I went for a drink with a friend, I was surprised to find out I paid 30 CHF for just a glass of Prosecco and a small bottle of non-alcoholic beer. It feels like too much for what we got.

Disappointing experience with discrimination Unfortunately, I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Restaurant & Bar Talacker in Zurich, which I would like to share. When I wanted to make a reservation for 15 people in February using my Tamil name, I called to make sure there was enough space. I was assured over the phone that there was enough space and was asked to send an email. After I wrote the relevant email, I received a surprisingly rude rejection from the manager, claiming that there was no more space available. This is extremely strange because another employee told me on the phone that there was enough space. I find it particularly difficult to accept that my colleague with a Swiss name made a reservation for a similar number of people on the same day and at the same time and was politely told that there was enough space. It is sad and unacceptable that discrimination still takes place in the 21st century, especially in a place like Zurich, which is so diverse and visited by people from many different backgrounds. Such practices should not be tolerated and I hope that the management of Restaurant & Bar Talacker takes this seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

After the 6 of us were in the Kaufleuten Restaurant, we wanted to celebrate and continue to consume a lot, but the bouncers said we weren't allowed in because of the dog Bad reception even worse employees

Poor “door-policy” not letting my colleague and me in for “not being accompanied with famines”.. although the next three guys were free to go because one of them was “friend” of the bouncer… I’ll schedule my future company events outside your location, like Kaufleuten or George’s..

I can only recommend the Talacker, be it at lunchtime for delicious food or in the evening as a bar, it has been a place to be in Zurich for years and days ❤️

Was a cool day/evening. It was a lovely party. Gladly again. But please, dear owners of the Securitas Talackerbar, this is unreasonable. Treated my friend and her sister very inappropriately. Another incident like this will be the last time me and my friends visit this bar.

I just had Pad Kra Pao but this has nothing to do with the real Pad Kra Pao. Not tasty at all, the meat was not cooked in the sauce. I mean there was no sauce at all and not the taste of Pad Kra Pao. Was just meat with vegetables and rice. Disappointed… if we look at the prices they have, at least the food should be tasty!

Talacker is a great place for lunch and for Happy Hour, dinner and party. Reserve always for lunch and enjoy the Curries and the Pad ka Prau. In the evening entry is free. Wed to Sat they have great DJs and its really crowded. Be early or reserve. Great Vibes always!!! My favorite in the evening are the Mandu Momos, Vegie and Parma Pinsas (best in town). A place to go and to repeat as often as possible

The so-called “bouncers” are a disgrace. You can't do anything except provoke and offend. It's better to take a German course before insulting guests.

Packed and expensive, but apparently the place to be.

Inside the bar it feels too loud and outside there are people smoking. For non-smokers and peace loving people this is not the place to go.

Talacker bar, well, we stopped for a quick drink on a Saturday night as we waited for a friend, otherwise we would have never gone there. Lack of atmosphere and most likely world's worst Gin Basil Smash cocktail ever. Stick to beer and wine if you're going there (or just go somewhere else)

It was tasty, but there was a long wait

Prices are fair, service is friendly, the drinks are delicious. Sometimes it gets pretty crowded and stuffy in here on weekend evenings... so you have to like it. Otherwise good address in Zurich! I've never been here at lunchtime, so I can't say anything about the food on offer.

Never experienced such unfriendly employees! Especially the ones at the entrance. I just wanted to quickly say goodbye to a few acquaintances, so I didn't come back in - "de abig isch eh verbi, ich sött ahstah" - even though I had already been to the bar and spent a few hundred francs. In my opinion, something like that doesn't work at all!!

What a nice bar! If you are more into R&B, POP, Latino kind of vibes, the dj will definitely make you dance!

The bar and the music are generally good, but you should consider hiring professional security personnel. My colleagues and I went to this bar for the first time on Saturday evening and accidentally used the wrong entrance. It was outside. A security guard then stood in our way and said very rudely that we had to use the front entrance. Since this guy wasn't wearing a uniform that would have identified him as a security guard, I didn't immediately understand why he cared whether we walked into the bar from the left or the right. When neither of us said anything, he (by now I had assumed that it must be bar security) asked us, in a more unfriendly tone, if we had never been here before, to which I said no. He then said nothing more, but didn't clear the way for us either. He stood in front of us in silence for what felt like an eternity and looked at us. We didn't know exactly what he wanted from us now. Did he want us to run back out and then just come into the bar from the right side instead of the left? I finally asked if we could still stay here, to which he replied unkindly and cleared the way for us. I have never been approached by security in such a rude manner. Later in the evening I saw the same security guard physically arguing with a young woman over a glass. Although I didn't know what the argument was about, it is highly unprofessional for a security guard to almost come to blows with a young woman in the bar. I would strongly recommend this bar to hire security guards with appropriate training. These people certainly don't work for a professional security company, otherwise they would have worn the appropriate uniform and would know how to treat guests in a friendly manner.

The food is delicious. I find it a shame and incomprehensible that the same dishes always cost the same, regardless of the meat, vegetarian or protein-free. It's always very crowded at lunchtime and there are unpleasant waiting times, so it's worth ordering your food in advance (you'll wait there too, but less). The portions are a little too big.

Actually always 5 ways good fish but lots of sights in the meantime so bad lack of space and one star less. I hope it gets better again, it wouldn't be nice if it didn't stay mainstream.

Hasn't been there for a long time. However, I immediately felt comfortable. Good selection of drinks and fair prices. Very attentive and friendly staff. That's why I'm happy to come back. The evening I was there there were also well-known DJs. Very easy to reach by public transport. Parking is nearby, although it is usually difficult to find one directly in front of the house.

I've been going to Talacker for years for lunch and it's rarely disappointed. The Thai food is authentic and very tasty and the overall vibe is unique and fun (it's rough around the edges in that big city kind of way), with a lovely terrace to boot. Although the service can be a bit hit and miss (as some reviewers say), overall I'd absolutely recommend it (because 9/10 times it's still pretty competent and fast.)

Good curries, love the Talacker curry; staff is friendly, this place transforms into a hip and trendy expats bar in the evenings...

Food is ok. But that's about it. This place is ruined by the rude staff. They also seem to be overwhelmed by a drink order of 5-6 people. The first time should've been my last - I asked what drinks they serve and the barkeeper honestly said "look at the bottles behind me". The 2nd time I was there was with work and the staff acted the same. They give you a feeling that you disturb them in doing nothing by ordering something.

Coffee shop très agréable pour un petit déjeuner entre copine. Bien accueillis par le serveur qui parle français. Viennoiseries très bonnes ainsi que leur jus de fruits. Suffisamment de place à l’intérieur pour s’installer et prendre son temps. Nous recommandons !!

Boreal serviert im Allgemeinen sehr guten Kaffee, aber sie haben ihre freien Tage, an denen der Geschmack einfach nicht zusammen zu kommen scheint. Wahrscheinlich müssen sie ihr Spiel in einem Gebiet, in dem es mehrere großartige Coffeeshops gibt, etwas verbessern.

Für ein Café schmeckt der LongBlack-Kaffee sehr schlecht. Bitter bitter bitter! Zuckerkonsum macht es nicht besser. Darf man sich darauf konzentrieren, keine billigen Kaffeebohnen zu verbrennen oder zu kaufen? Nebenbei frieren Sie ein, weil die Schiebetür ständig geöffnet ist.

Se bajó del tranvía y estaba buscando un café y vi este lugar. Me alegro de haberlo hecho.No es barato, incluso para los estándares ricos en Z, pero será difícil encontrar una mejor experiencia de café.El lugar está decorado con sofás e iluminación suave. Las mesas están llenas de libros y revistas sobre café. El menú ofrece una buena selección de cafés y mezclas. Está excelentemente hecho. Los pasteles también son muy agradables.

Kürzlich eher zufällig hier vorbeigekommen und bin gleich etwas länger geblieben. Kaffee war fantastisch, der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und das ganze Ambiente hat hervorragend dazugepasst. Kann ich 100% weiterempfehlen!

Après une visite de la ville, une pause au Boreal coffee shop où nous avons apprécié un excellent café dans une ambiance agréable, servis par un personnel chaleureux.

Also, wenn man nicht wüsste, dass man gerade einen Espresso trinkt, würde man eigentlich nicht auf Kaffee kommen. Uns hat der Espresso überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Der Espresso Macchiato war vermutlich mit Soja-Milch (gefragt wurden wir nicht), leider auch eher ungeniessbar. Bio, vegan oder was es sonst war: mit gutem italienischem Espresso hat das dort nicht viel zu tun.

Kamen eher zufällig an diesem Kaffee vorbei. War für einen Samstagmorgen ziemlich voll, was ich als gutes Zeichen gesehen hatte. Ich bekam recht . Cappuccino , Espresso Machiato und auch die heissen Schokoladen der Kinder waren ausgezeichnet . Boreal hat eine gemütliche, wohnliche Atmosphäre. Ich habe das Essen / Gebäck nicht probiert. Für die Arbeit nicht schlecht - schnelles Internet (50 Mbs), viele Sitzgelegenheiten, aber wenig Anschlussmöglichkeiten, besser als Ort für einen gesellschaftlichen Besuch.

Mit dem Kaffee trinken (in Zürich) ist das so ne Sache: Wenig Orte, wo der Kenner wirklich auf seine Kosten kommt.. Zu einem vernünftigen Preis!Nun gibt es eine Alternative: Das Boreal nähe Löwenstrasse. Die Jungs wissen was Kaffee ist! Verkaufen ihre Kaffeebohnen (verschiedene Mischungen) über die Gasse, und brauen auch gleich einen super feinen Espresso, Crema oder dergleichen. Mit einer Cimbali natürlich. Kannst aber auch Filterkaffee (!) haben, wo gibt’s das sonst noch?!Junges Publikum, urbaner Stil. Sehr empfehlenswert - für Kaffee Aficionados!

Sehr schöne Kaffeespezialitäten, die Baristas wissen, was sie machen. Sie können zwischen zwei verschiedenen Espresso wählen Bohnen und Filter (V 60 und Aeropress). Und sie haben authentische neuseeländische Pasteten! !

Dies ist ein Café im amerikanischen Stil, das mehr als nur Espresso - Getränke serviert. Ich suche immer nach Orten, die Pour - Over -, V 60 - oder Aeropress - Braumethoden anbieten, und dieser Ort hat sie alle. Sie wählen großartige Bohnen aus einheimischer Herkunft und haben auch ihre eigene Hausmischung. Der Kaffee ist so gut und so glatt.

Was killing time in Zurich before a long train ride, this place is about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. As with most places in Zurich, there's a full English menu. Friendly staff, versatile seating (tables, high tops, comfy couches), free wifi - great place to spend a couple hours sipping a flat white and reading.

Die Boreal Coffee Shop ist eine eine sehr kleine Kette ( 6 insgesamt in dieser Zeit an verschiedenen Standorten in Genf und Zürich) . Ich besuchte Das Cafe liegt auf Talacker, sie ist nur einen kurzen Spaziergang von den wichtigsten lebhaften Einkaufsviertel von Zürich. Wie auch immer, es ist in einer relativ ruhigen Ort ist überwiegend auf einer Straße, die mit den Straßenbahnen (die Sihlstrasse Straßenbahnhaltestelle ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes direkt in der Straße) .Das Café ist von innen ist einfach, modern und doch hat eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre. Es gibt weich komfortablen Sofas und Sesseln sowie Tischen und Stühlen aus Holz im Inneren. Zusätzlich gibt es eine kleine Anzahl von Stühle und Tische draußen, wenn Sie möchten nur sitzen und die Welt an sich vorüberziehen lassen.Das Geschäft verkauft eine große Auswahl an Kaffeespezialitäten sowie andere alkoholfreie Getränke; außerdem eine kleine Auswahl an Salaten, Sandwiches und Kuchen/Muffins. Auf einer separaten Gelegenheiten, habe ich versucht ihr Cafe Creme und einem Eiskaffee. Beide waren gut gemacht, auch wenn deren Bean Roast ist für meinen Geschmack ein bisschen sauer. Was ich bin total süchtig, obwohl, ist ihre glutenfrei Banana Kuchen - es ist eines der besten glutenfrei Kuchen fand ich in Zürich (und ich habe schon viel. . . ) . . . . . . . . . . Es war so gut, dass ich einen für mitnehmen! (Hinweis: Boreal unterstützt das 'Zimmer' der Bildung der Kinder wohltätige zu lesen, und gibt Geld für jede Wohnung White Kaffee ihren Kunden kaufen) .Was dieses Hotel wirklich zu etwas Besonderem macht, sind allerdings die Angestellten. Sowohl der Männer serviert sind warm, freundlich und einladend und sind glücklich, Ihnen zu helfen in keinem so gut sie können. Sie kommen auf wirklich als das genießen würden, was sie tun - und das gibt dem ganzen Ort eine Stimmung. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Großartige Auswahl an Kaffees, schöner Sitzbereich in und out, freundliches Personal. Es gibt ein Flat weiß was bekommt man überall in Zürich und meine Kinder lieben die winige Frappe. Wir kommen wieder!

Je me suis rendu déjà deux fois dans ce coffeeshop et le café est de qualité avec une extraction assurée par une Marzocco. Le service était vraiment bien avec Pierre-Nicolas qui a été très serviable et souriante.

Seit 5 Monaten hier in Zürich einfach super ... Atmosphäre, Service und natürlich der Kaffee in allen Variationen. V60, wer die Milch nicht mag oder verträgt, oder natürlich auch Soja, wenn's sein muss. Die Leute sind total nett, man muss langsam sprechen, denn der Belgier spricht halt am liebsten französisch, oder war das flämisch?! Das versteht eh keiner, außer denen ;-).

Kürzlich habe ich gelesen, dass ein neues Café in Zürich aufgegangen ist; da wollte ich doch hin, australische Kaffeekultur... Der Barista war sehr nett und hat mir mit viel Sorgfalt einen Cappuccino gemacht, der mir auch schmeckte. Ich hab mich ins bequeme Sofa gesetzt und aus den grossen Fensterscheiben auf die Strasse geschaut. Eine Zeitung muss man selber mitnehmen, ausser man erwischt grad eine der zwei NZZ-Ausgaben, die herumlagen. Das Licht ist mir zu grell, es kommt keine gemütliche Athmosphäre auf, ich in nicht lange geblieben...

Ever since moving from Chicago I've been missing a coffee shop in Zurich that lives up to my favorites there..while Zurich has slowly been opening good places, this is my new favorite by far: it's spacious, it has couches, it has WiFi, it has reaaally good 3rd wave coffee and super nice atmosphere, what more do you want :-)

Boreal Coffee Shop has locations in Geneva and just opened its first Zurich location less than two week ago. As you enter the shop there are small tables, sofas & chairs, benches, high tables and stools at the front of the shop and more tables and sofas seating at the rear. There is a nice variety of hot/cold beverages, snacks, pastries, sandwiches, and merchandise on sale. The two super friendly gentlemen working during my visit were very nice and welcoming. I ordered my soy milk hot chocolate (they advertise soy milk and lactose free products on the wall menu board) 6.90CHF. I was even given a frequent customer stamp card they offer for returning customers. My hot chocolate was very good. They offer free WLAN, plastic plants adorning some of the tables and very clean restrooms. The place gets really busy around 08.30. I enjoyed my visit, would visit again and recommend to others.
