Great service and delicious food.

Although many of the tables were already set, the only thing that was cleared away for us was coffee - not a given, thank you very much.

Always nice to have dinner here before flying from Zurich Airport ! Food is nice with friendly and polite service !

Wow! I've rarely been so amazed. The taverna makes an inconspicuous impression from the outside. Inside it is beautiful and totally clean. You just feel comfortable. The food was amazing. It was so delicious and the service was very friendly and funny. We had a nice dinner there.

I was very satisfied with the service, as well as with the food. Have had Cordon Bleu here and have to say they do it very well!

I had the veal Zurich style and my husband had the ribeye with fries. We shared a cesear salad. Everything was very good. His steak was seared on the outside and cooked to a perfect medium. The veal was tender and the sauce delicious. Finished off with one scoop of chocolate ice cream. No reservations were needed on a Thursday night at 1800. It was walking distance from our airport hotel. The prices were average for this type of food. 120 CHF for all this plus 2 bottles of still water.

The food was good, vegetables could have been more and a little crunchier, cordon bleu and burgers were great. Unfortunately, the service wasn't seen often even though there were few guests. Nice restaurant.

Dice beef fillet had the taste of old expired meat, my stroganoff was very tough and had a champion and a pepperoni piece. I thought it was a shame, I would have told the waiter and left it. I definitely won't eat there again.

We celebrated a birthday with 16 guests. The planning was totally uncomplicated, we were even allowed to decorate and put the tables together according to our wishes. The service was reliable and unobtrusive, the food came quickly and everyone enjoyed it. The ambience in the interior with all the wood is very cozy, and the winter garden filled with plants is something special. We felt completely comfortable, it was great.

Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. The portion of cordon bleu is okay, but the stroganoff with spaetzle could definitely use more side dishes. It's okay in terms of price, but you should be satisfied with one skin pg. I find a scoop of ice cream with Baileys for 15.50CHF a bit steep. Apple strudel was OK.

I was looking forward to the truffle ravioli in advance. It's a shame that it was "only" with truffle oil. I think it should be declared like this on the card. The empanadas taste very fine, but a bit too dry. Otherwise we were very satisfied. Above all, the service was great!

I would highly recommend this family restaurant. It was our first meal after arriving in Switzerland and possibly my favourite meal of the trip. I had the vegetable spatzle and my friends had the burger with fries. The portions were large. Their local beer on tap was great. The venue indoors and on the glass terrace are gorgeous with lots of natural light and thriving plants. The service was so welcoming and it was very helpful to see they had an English version of the menu.

We had dinner here about a year ago on our stopover in Zurich and we loved it so much we just had to go back. So I booked a longer layover just so we can have lunch at Sri’s place 🥳 and it was just as good as I remember it! Best Veggie Spätzle I have EVER had (homemade), delicious Feld Salad 😋 and My husband loved his Züricher Geschnetzeltes. Thank you Sri - you are wonderful and We can’t wait to be back!

Actually everything would be fine but since I simply paid 23.90 Fr for a sausage cheese salad and despite complaining, no insight... I've never paid for that until now.

Quaint local. Very courteous service. Burger was generally okay too. It's just not a burger roastery. Burger bun was a little harder so it wasn't quite as fresh, but you could eat the burger well.

Very close to the airport, in a nice local area. Lots of seating available inside and outside. The staff are super polite and friendly. Menu available in English and plenty of choice. It is quite expensive but that’s like most places in Zurich. The food was lovely, I had the Pork with ham and cheese inside which came with some vegetables and fries. The steak looked amazing and a really nice place to get traditional Swiss food.

My sister, cousin and I had a late lunch/early dinner at Zur alten Taverne on Friday, May 6th. It was one of the few places open that served both food and alcohol. We were greeted warmly by the owner or manager, and provided English menus. The drinks were excellent (Aperol spritzes and wine and mojitos). My cousin said her spaetzle was the best she'd had in her travels. My sister and I both had the Zurich Geschneltes, which was excellent. We also shared a tiramisu, as recommended by the owner, which may have been the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful. The owner was very friendly and spoke excellent English. And we all chipped in to clear the table and save the glassware when a sudden downdraft storm ended our meal. It was an excellent final meal before flying back to the U.S. We really appreciated the friendly and excellent service and conversation from the owner. The food and drinks were reasonably priced as well as tasty.

There were 4 of us (2 couples) in Zurich following a Rhine River cruise. Staying at a very nice hotel, less than two blocks away from this beautiful restaurant, that we randomly picked to have an early dinner. Oh, what a pleasant surprise! Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and very nice and attentive service from one gentleman. He was the greeting host, seated us, (gave us an English menu, and he was multilingual with perfect English) took drink orders, very well informed on available wines,beer, and menu details. Served food, and was bussing the table too. I have to believe he may have been the owner, or manager, if not, they have one fantastic employee! And the food! We each ordered different selections, and it was all delicious, and beautifully plated. The tiramisu for dessert was the best I have ever had. Thank you for a truly beautiful and delicious dining experience!

Very good service. The pint of beer was not carbonated and was probably the rest of what was in the tube. But then we got a new one right away 👍 Unfortunately, 1 hour after eating I had diarrhea. I think there was something wrong with the burger meat.

It was our first time in the Restaurant Zur alten Taverne. The service is friendly. Unfortunately the tomato salad was from the fridge and was cold and tasteless. The homemade salad dressing is very tasty. The bread served was more from yesterday and not fresh. The main courses are good and sufficient. The highlight was clearly the homemade desserts. Ambience with artificial flowers takes some getting used to. The large oven makes everything cozy. On the whole we were satisfied.

Excellent food and great service

This place probably used to be great many years ago however I do not recommend this place anymore at all. We were a few people there and had different dishes. All of them were way TOO OVERPRICED for the amount of food received - we were all still hungry after having had dinner there! And obviously there isn't too much love put into the food nor the ambiente making it a place to forget and to never return.
