Terrible service, unsympathetic, listless, we were lied to about the meat (after asking several times!), we were served warm beer and they didn't want to take it back, claiming the fridge was broken and there was nothing they could do about it. Never again! The only good thing was the size of the pizza

One star for the nice, funny, hard-working service. Unfortunately, that was all that was positive about this restaurant. The facility is quite run down and old. We had the 3-course T-Bone Steak menu. The “mixed salad” was a sparsely garnished leaf salad with a watery salad dressing. The T-bone with fries and vegetables was very disappointing. The waiter asked us how cooked the meat was, but the kitchen missed it by miles. Medium was ordered and well done was served. The fries were cold and soggy and the vegetables were overcooked. The tiramisou was a finished product, but the best of the evening. Finally, I can say that for me this restaurant is not a place where you can get delicious food or where I would go again.

Had a voucher from DeinDeal and wanted to reserve but don't answer the phone, gives a bad impression. Reviews and Bumann the restaurant tester confirm what we suspect (we had already seen the show before buying the voucher, but wanted to try it anyway) But no thanks. We received the money back from DeinDeal to the DeinDeal account.

Price exorbitant, pork schnitzel with fries Fr. 37.00!! no typo! The menu on the homepage does not match that of the restaurant, on the home page Fri. 5 p.m.!! When asked by the boss, these were take-away prices!! no clue anywhere!! Fr. 20.00 more with service!!! We were completely ripped off!! The food was otherwise averagely good! So be careful!!! We were also the only guests, which surely couldn't be a coincidence!! It's a shame we were guests for years, but not like this anymore! , Picata Milanese Fr. 39.00 !!! By the way, the risotto was inedible, more like rice pudding!

We had a Dein-Deal voucher for a 3-course pizza menu for two people. I called ahead to make a reservation, but was told to place the reservation via text message, which I did. I made a reservation for 6pm on a Friday evening but didn't receive a confirmation. When we got to the restaurant it was empty - except for a few people who seemed to be working there and sitting around - and I had the impression that they didn't know anything about our reservation. Unfortunately, the - actually quite nice - waitress didn't understand a word of German, which led to major communication difficulties. The lady also didn't know the drinks menu or brought us a menu to the table, which greatly reduced the selection. We had to wait a very long time (over 45 minutes) for the food. The green starter salad was served with a French dressing without us being asked which dressing we would like. Afterwards we were alone in the dining room for a while and in the meantime we were harassed at the table by an apparently mentally confused man who had visited the restaurant for a short time. After we got rid of it, two pizzas arrived that we hadn't ordered (according to the voucher we could have chosen one pizza). My colleague's pizza was a little dark on the edge, BUT OVERALL THE FOOD WAS VERY TASTY. Unfortunately, after the main course there was dessert, which I found a little uncomfortable. But the tiramisu, like the coffee I had with it, was excellent! The prices seem very reasonable for the good quality of the food. Unfortunately, the service and first impression left so much to be desired that I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to others. In the meantime, I really thought my colleague was having a joke with me using the hidden camera.

Even making a reservation by phone was difficult. We had a voucher from deindeal for a 5-course menu. The antipasti course came after the main course, we had to wait 90 minutes, although neither the pizza nor any other pasta dishes were available. The pasta was from the day before - hard and old. We stopped counting when there were three hairs in different plates and in the end the five-course menu became a three-course menu because the desserts were sold out. The entrecote was a T-bone steak, the fries were soggy and the bread was toasted, as it was also probably old. Unfortunately the dishes served were not good. We were given two wine glasses because we missed two courses, which unfortunately wasn't proportionate. We felt very sorry for the service specialist because she received all the complaints. She's just a temporary worker, well under these circumstances probably not for long.

A bunch of mozzarella and sliced ​​tomatoes, rather bland. Then the meat with fries. Burnt and cooked in old oil. We didn't want to eat it and asked for the voucher back. I've never experienced anything like that. Although we called to make a reservation (which was also very difficult), no table was reserved. On the voucher it was supposed to be entrecote, we got a ruined T-bone with inedible fries. We never will It's a shame because the first time we were there it was really great.

Addendum, March 1, 2020 The show with Daniel Bumann is being repeated. Someone must have gone way overboard with their ideas. I have also had some positive, but unfortunately also negative, experiences here. That's what happened last week when I went there again for lunch. According to the service staff, there were no lunch menus that day. So then just off the map. I wanted to order Piccata Milanese, but unfortunately there was no meat in the kitchen. I then ordered a standard pizza and waited a solid 50 minutes. Time is money and that's why I can't take a 2 hour lunch break like I used to. That's why I won't be going there again for at least the next few months, as the quality of the food varies too much.

Unfortunately disappointing. Service inattentive. Food: Salad too coarse. Spaghetti Carbonara was ok, too much egg, no spoon to eat. No grated cheese on the table. Spaghetti salmon with whiskey sauce, sauce curdled without whiskey. Dirty drinking glass. Something burned in the kitchen and the entire restaurant was full of smoke. You can cook it better yourself. Authentic music, after all. The boss tried hard. Service staff couldn't speak German.

Was at casa piccola italia again today, unfortunately the taste quality is decreasing, e.g. the risk is no longer so creamy -- still good. But the worst thing for me was the collapse of tiramisu. It may be good for other restaurants, but if you ate the right one, (earlier reviews with photos) you're still raving about it today. I almost said it was the best around. And everyone who was allowed to eat the real thing agreed with me and was thrilled. Oh yes, the service has also changed --- cozy but pleasantly cozy. No matter what, I'll go back and check to see if the boys can manage it again.

Difficult! Even 1 star is too much! What we experienced there last night was incredible. Here are a few key words: -No greeting, we have reserved for 6.30 p.m -Annoying high-pitched beeping from fragrance dispensers in the toilet, which can be heard constantly in the restaurant -Stale mineral with hardly any carbon dioxide left -No towels in the toilet (7 p.m.) -No ice for Aperol Spritz at the next table because there was no more ice -No capuccino for the guest behind us, only espresso -Cold meat and cold fries at the neighboring table -Guest who waits unwelcomed for 15 minutes leaves -Very long waiting times even though there are only 9 guests -Risotto is not risotto but simply wet rice -Instead of the fries I ordered, I received croquettes; there were no more fries -The meat is so tough and streaky that it's an imposition We couldn't eat anything apart from the menu salad and left the restaurant hungry and shocked.

The Piccola isn't that small... so the food was really good (T-bone steak with risotto, tiramisu and mixed salad). I would actually have to deduct a point for the service. The smell of the wine was very good, but then it failed miserably in terms of taste. It simply didn't meet expectations in terms of volume. However, what was again tip top was the coffee, espresso and grappa. Conclusion kitchen 👍Service still has potential. We will be back.

We made a special reservation in the restaurant, but we were still not noticed at the entrance. After 10 minutes we were assigned to a seat without being greeted. It was very crowded so we didn't find the waiting time to be a problem. Ambiance: It can't be that other guests have high-quality placemats in front of them and the rest of the guests get simple paper sets. Either everyone or no one at all and the same applies to the candles that were on the tables. Nevertheless, the restaurant has its charm and you feel comfortable. Service: The service can be optimized the most. It was completely understaffed and one of the service staff was extremely unmotivated and didn't give us the impression that we were welcome and I think she should have helped her colleagues more. I didn't experience a team working together and as a guest you felt that very much. Fortunately, our service was very warm and confidently satisfied our wishes at all times. Food: We were brought the wrong food twice, but that can happen so we accepted that and the taste was really good for the price. If the service was more organized and made us guests more welcome, we would certainly visit the restaurant again, because the food really exceeded our expectations.

Why do you think you learn calculations? Because it is fun? Unfortunately, the pasta (spaghetti) was still very hard and would have needed about 3 more minutes. However, I then received a small free dessert as an apology and the head chef even came by in person, thank you for that. The pizza was good. The portions are very generous. The service can definitely still be improved. Even though I speak clearly, the "waiter" didn't always understand me. In addition, you can tell that this is not a trained person (my plate was already cleared and I received the free dessert straight away even though my companion was still eating and therefore felt "stressed"). Otherwise the service was good and we received the food very quickly (too quickly for the spaghetti ;-)). I keep an eye on the recessions and would be happy to come back in a few months/years if there are any improvements. Best regards

Experience gastronomy of a different kind. Under the motto "Give Baslers in Basel a chance" (the chef should be good according to gastro savior Bumann) we went to Casa Piccola Italia early on Saturday evening. When we entered it was already visible that the temporary waitress (we felt sorry for her) was already in the red zone. But we went there because of the cook. After 45 minutes, the green salad found its way to our table, which was actually ordered as a mixed salad. After another 45 minutes - guests came and went without being served - the food finally arrived. We've since heard that the chef has changed, but maybe we'll be lucky. Instead of fries there was salad on the plate and apparently the rump steaks had to endure a death struggle so that they had to die a second time. It was no longer possible to think about eating and for the first time in our lives we had to leave the meat (including the side dishes) behind. Frustrated and CHF 75 lighter, we walked along Feldbergstrasse towards Johanniterbrücke and discovered the Nua restaurant with its real Thai delicacies. What a treat. Finally, we would like to thank Casa Piccola Italia for leading us to a new restaurant that we would like to visit again. We recommend that Casa Piccola Italia return to the Corner Pub and that the boss stay for more than 5 minutes the next time you stop by and perhaps give his employees a hand.

Apparently the chef has changed I took a seat outside. The table top was just laid up. So the whole table shook. I waited 70 minutes for the pizza. The service and the kitchen were totally overwhelmed - despite only a few guests. The desired ashtray was a candlelight cup filled with water. There were also around 6 cigarette butts in the cup. Food was ok, but unfortunately the spaghetti was too salty. The dishes (knife, fork) were not clean. The male waiter was very polite and very friendly. Unfortunately there were only 3 different types of ice cream on the dessert menu and the rest simply wasn't available. I think it's very bad, it's best not to give out the card. A lot needs to be improved for a restaurant. Better make a puff of it, it will definitely work better!

Maddening. First and last time. We were 2 people and we announced that we had an hour to eat because it was during working hours. They serve us a salad after 25 minutes. And the main course 25 minutes later. My companion had to leave without eating the pizza he had ordered and for work reasons he will not eat all afternoon. We ordered 1 Coca Cola and 1 bottle of water to drink. And they give me tap water for CHF 4.50 a glass, not included in the menu, and they serve it to me when I have finished eating. They never served Coca Cola but they did include it in the bill to pay. After complaining I got them to deduct the coke from the bill and their excuse was that the staff was new and inexperienced.
