Thai Square in Basel

Went there with a friend, they had curry and i had the ramen bowl with beef. The beef was tough and the broth bland. I asked for another one for better meat as they told me they can't do anything about the broth and it came out with the meat just as tough if not tougher. My friend had curry, which was delicious. The waitress were kind and understand, but sadly after both bowl coming out wrong i was still asked to pay 25 francs for it, thus the low rating. I would recommend this restaurant as long as you do not take the ramen bowl.

The restaurant was good. The location is convenient, the service was friendly and the price was reasonable. The food was good and the portions were generous. The homemade iced tea and Pad Thai are particularly recommended. The atmosphere was also appealing. Overall a positive experience.

The food was very good and the service really good, pleasant atmosphere, although busy. What was particularly special for me were the good flavors in the dishes and the fact that they were glutamate-free. Good job. Absolutely fair in price and only Swiss meat 👍

They are incredibly nice, great service. But the food is extremely boring and, above all, cheap: vegetables are frozen, tofu is mass-produced and tasteless, curry is bought ready-made and mixed together, not even the green curry tastes like anything, rice is dry, chicken sauce is non-existent. Actually a 3* because of the service, but deducted because of the bizarrely good reviews here.

If you like Asian food they have plenty of options. I like spicy food and I did find something to my liking.

Were there on New Year's Eve. Reserved shortly in advance, everything worked out. Very friendly staff! First have a little aperitif and then study the beautiful menu. We ordered 3 starters, fresh and good! For the main course, 2 different curries, wonderfully seasoned. Atmosphere, very modern, not for everyone. What made us very happy was that our dog 🐕 was allowed to come along.

I had the kimchi gyozas and the tofu poke bowl and I loved them!! Usually you don’t find kimchi gyozas anywhere. On top of that the bowl was so well combined and the rice was very well seasoned. I had the soyasauce and it was a great addition. One of my favorite places in Basel now. I don’t know how this dish compares to others that they have, if they are also as good. But I can say for sure they make great poke bowls and gyozas. I also had their homemade ginger tea. They had a nice array of dishes vegetarian, pescatarian, omnivorous and vegan. The waitress was very nice. The restaurant was nicely decorated with plants and lots of light. It’s more of an informal restaurant.

Large portion, friendly service! At lunchtime the menu includes an appetizer and a drink included in the price. The steamed gyoza with vegetables (3 pieces) were very tasty. The Green Thai Curry came in a large bowl with a large portion of rice. Everything was very good, even pleasantly spicy and we were served in a friendly manner.

Another Thai restaurant in a small space. Very good food and for lunch there is a small starter (usually 3 dim sum), a main course and a drink for a very fair price. We can recommend it.

The food is very good, but we still waited over an hour for the main course at lunchtime. The poke bowl was then served with chicken instead of salmon, as that was all there was. There would have been plenty of time to say this a little earlier. Unfortunately it is no longer recommended for a (quick) lunch.

While waiting for another reservation it opens at 7pm, I did not have any experience with this one. However it turns out that the service and the quality of food was superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The lady in the restaurant even gave us tulips as gift for free for the Easter holiday. What a day! They are not biased if you have a drink or more dishes.

My partner and I sat down at a table at 12:10 p.m. The restaurant filled up relatively quickly. After about 10 minutes, an employee announced that we could order straight away. It took another 10 minutes before we could order. Since we had an appointment right next door at 2 p.m., we were very patient, after all, we saw that there was a lot going on that Monday. After a total of 50 minutes we got the starter, which we enjoyed. We waited again...and finally the main course came. The taste was very good, but unfortunately my green beans were still almost raw. In total we sat in the restaurant for 90 minutes, a nogo even for those who are patient. A pity!

The lunch deal and the food is very good. Unfortunately, the transition from starter to main course often doesn't work, which results in a long waiting time. The food is good and the staff is friendly.

There were only 4 tables when we had a dinner on a tuesday night. The atmosphere was calm an quiet. The service was good. But the food was very disappointing. We went there expecting to eat phad Thai. It wasn't on the menu. Sweet and sour chicken had more vegetables than chicken, and it was extremely sweet, nothing sour. They bring water in a jar like bottle as if it was filled with tap water and the charge it. It was a firs that we were charged a water that wasn't bottled. I don't recommend this place.

Cibo under the avarege, waiters were really nice but we were waiting a lot for just for 2 day dishes (45min). Big entrance door that was annoying like was a really cold day. Also expensive...

Unfortunately it's not suitable if you want to eat something "quickly" over lunch. We were at the restaurant at 12:05 and the food was on the table at 12:50. This without any special requests, we had the daily menu. This may work in the evening, but if you have to work and only have a short time, this is too long. We had the green curry. A green curry should normally be bursting with flavors, but unfortunately here it was just slightly spicy coconut milk with a greenish tint and vegetables. You had to look for the aromas. The Thai ice tea was super tasty and the service was nice.

We went to this place today, super service, the two guys were super nice. even though we were with a little girl they were super friendly and helpful. It has happened to us a few times. Excellent food. We'll be back!

Modern restaurant with Asian cuisine with seating on the sidewalk in the 30s zone. Just had something to drink, the waiter doesn't understand German very well. Otherwise okay 😎

The waiting time for takeaway over lunch was 30 minutes and the potatoes in the massaman curry weren't cooked through. Therefore unfortunately only 3 stars.

Today there were four of us at Thai Square and everyone really enjoyed it. Luckily we got a table. It's better to make a reservation. The fruit and vegetables in the poke bowls taste fresh and delicious. 5 stars we are convinced.
