The Nest in Zürich

A great rooftop to see Zurich! We got some wine and we chill a bit with the amazing view! The place is super relaxing and was recommended by my friend. The service was very friendly. Nice spot to take some relax while ling walks in Zurich.

Best views of Zurich. Being vetted about a 25 Swiss Frank minimum spend per person was a bit degrading.

Amazing views of the city! But they don’t stay in the comfort zone and offer an amazing menu with local white merlot and small bites appropriate for a roof top. The service is also very good and the staff is super friendly. All and all a must if you want to spend a lazy afternoon at Zurich.

All was well in the Lounge there so I cannot complain.

Very nice place with an amazing view. Loved the food and the luxury atmosphere. Perfect for the afterwork drink with friends and family. Especially during golden hours. But the waiting time is quite long if you don't have the reservation in advance.

The guy that welcome us was very unprofessional and unfriendly! Also are a lot of rooftops better than this place! i definitely don't recommend it!

Great views of the Limmat, Lake Zurich and the Central Swiss Alps. Also three church towers in the immediate vicinity. Very friendly and attentive, helpful staff. Drinks are rather small and expensive, but you also have to pay for the view and the ambience.

More appearance than reality, minimum consumption of 25Fr. I was told 10 times. It goes without saying that you don't order just one bottle of mineral water. At 9:15 p.m. the staff called it a day, meaning we couldn't even finish our drinks in peace. After I went to the toilet, they almost didn't want to let me go back to the roof. I was asked again if I consumed anything? Do you need that, stork? Now seriously???!!!!!

Probably it is the closest rooftop terrace one can get to the Zürichsee, the food was okay and the aperol spritz tasted like aperol spritz. But(!) the view is amazing, good to have conversations and have a view on the city and the lake.

I loved The Nest, the employees were very attentive. The cocktails I tried were also very nice. You have to spend 25 chf per person, but you won't have any problems since the drinks on the menu are in this price range. I watched a magnificent view of Zürich at The Nest, it was very relaxing.

Beautiful place at the rooftop of Storchen hotel! Pros: Good food, nice cocktails (though the menu is quite limited). Cons: Can be quite hot with lots of bees when sunny; the food is quite expensive and there is a min consumption of 20 chf/ person; there is no possibility to reserve in advance, though quite difficult to access in the evening, if you don’t like queues like me:)

Wow, is the first thing you think when you enter the rooftop bar THE NEST in the Hotel Storchen. The view over Zurich and the lake towards the Alps is breathtaking. The service is very friendly and attentive, as it must be for a 5-star hotel. To eat, there are small bites that taste great. It is important to know that THE NEST does not accept reservations. It is only open in good weather and during the summer months from May to September.

Beautiful view, however the 25CHF minimum consumption per person is ridiculous, especially when the terrace is rather empty and it's not lunch / dinner time and almost all items on the menu are just under 25 and also extremely expensive compared to other places in Zurich. Only go there if you plan to eat, not suited and not worth just a drink. Very disappointing.

Spectacular place in the center of Zurich. Excellent service, excellent choice of cocktails executed perfectly. Not for all wallets but it's worth it!

The place is great and the views to Zurich - wonderful. The drinks were very good. When it comes to service: I do not understand why they refuse to make it comfortable for the customers. You cannot reserve, you need to wait in a queue for undefined time. So you cannot bring your guests or plan anything. If you enter and you want to change from the bar/ one table to another table - not allowed even if there are multiple other tables available for the same amount of people (we were just two). We asked many times, the rule is that it is not allowed to move. Overall- failing to deliver on the customer service and the nice feeling that you could experience if they just followed the standard practices of all other similar places around the world with reservations and some flexibility. Such a pity.

The Nest is a unique place in the City of Zürich, as you get a view over the lower Lake Zürich up to the mountains. The experience is worth the Time you might have to wait before granted acces. The capacity is limited and as there is no time limit you can enjoy your stay as long as you like. There is a minimum consumption of CHF 25.-/Person. The Food and Drinks are as expected verry good. The Crew under the Leadership of Chef Bryan is nice, competent and friendly. We where 6 Persons and did not have to wait for access. we did enjoy our stay and i can recomend it to every one who want's a special experience.

Absolutely love it up here. Every time I want to go for drinks I try to see if The Nest has space. It is super tricky to get a table but the view over the city from here is simply stunning.

The view, drinks and service is great and the food was good.

The Nest is at a 5 star hotel but the staff is unaware of it. The waiting time to get in is acceptable based on its size but everything after that is subpar. Once on the roof, a table is assigned to you prior to your arrival and you are unable to change it even if there are open ones in a better location. The staff will presumably ask the supervisor and then not do anything. The hot food comes out cold and tasteless. However, the drinks are really good and refreshing. The entire time during your visit no attention will be paid to you after your initial order. Not worth it of a 5 star hotel. On a side note very disappointing that the staff only seems to be passable in English and German seems to be difficult for them.

Lucky enough to get a spot here for my wife and I. FANTASTIC view of Lake Zurich, the Limmat, and Old Town. Snacks are wasabi covered (if memory serves me right). Although not needed at the time, they had some sun sails set up and equipment to cover the whole area against the sun. We did not eat there, but they offer small plates and entrees. If they were anything like the drinks, I’m sure they would be delicious. Think they had a 25 CHF minimum per person spend requirement. We easily hit that; I got used to paying a lot for whisk(e)y in Central Europe.

Top lounge on the roof of the Hotel Storchen. The view is fantastic. Wine and caviar were A1. The second dish from the grill has potential for improvement. Access is controlled. Minimum consumption per person CHF 25.

Loved the stunning rooftop view of Zurich, have not found better one without having hiked :) Ms.Letizia took a good care of us: rechecking how we were doing and always came back with a smile. 2 drinks and 1 appetizer (not a main meal) would cost 70-80 CHF/person. On Sunday waiting time in a live line was around 30 min. No reservations accepted. Hotel guests without queuing.

Waiting times too long, the view is nice but there are also other places. Once ok so you can see it, but wouldn't work a second time. Too little selection when it comes to food. Staff average, a bit snooty. There is also a minimum consumption per person, but it is not mentioned beforehand!

It was very nice...the service up stairs are very kind ..but the working hours are stange ..downstairs ,the hostess is not very polite ..semi rude always ! Before was open until 22h ..today at 21h closing because they opened earlier ! The management is poor , that's it ! Open at 11 or 11.30h ..closing ...rude hostesses .. Really sad , the view is amazing but the way to get up ,it's REALLY KILLING THE VIBES !! ( waiting in line ,plus hotel's guests has priority )

Dropped by on a Sunday afternoon for a snack and drink. The views are amazing and the service was top notch! We ate the spicy chicken and the Thai skewers which were great! Big thanks to Lynn for taking care of us. Next time we are in Zurich, we will be back !

The view and the ambience are something special. The food was good, but unfortunately an ingredient was forgotten in the dessert...

Quality cocktails and food. Unfriendly service, especially Markus who made us feel uncomfortable. We queue downstairs and get a random table, from the nice cozy view to the bar with our backs to the view. 25 francs minimum consumption.

Probably the best roof terrace in Zurich. No reservation means: whether you get a place is a matter of luck and patience. Ambiance, offerings and service are top notch. Only the Ibiza lounge house music seems somehow inappropriately clumsy.

Beautiful rooftop bar in the heart of Zurich in the Hotel Storchen. Located directly on the Limmat, spectacular views, nice but simple furnishings, friendly staff. The selection of drinks is good, but the menu is too small when it comes to food and especially desserts. The non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz and the Chardonnay were good, unfortunately there are no coasters and no napkins. In addition, the Aperol Spritz was served with 6 ice cubes, without a straw, which is impractical to drink like that. I can therefore only recommend the rooftop bar to a limited extent.

The vue is nice, the stuff totally unprofessional arrogant and not pleasant at all, had the worse experience in Zürich so far! Very disappointing!

The location itself is incredibly beautiful and the view is incredible. There aren't many places so you sometimes have to wait a long time. The system itself is not a bad solution in that you do this in front of the entrance to the hotel and not up on the terrace. However, there was no queue for us and you feel a bit silly until you are picked up. The selection of drinks is manageable. The prices are certainly adapted to the location (on the roof of the Hotel Storchen) and the location. The service was nice and there was at least a glass of water with the drinks and popcorn without asking. Certainly a place to be and the audience is accordingly. But the view is really worth it. As a detail: When you leave the bar you are no longer escorted to the elevator or all the way downstairs or said goodbye. It could still be changed.

It’s a beautiful location with a fantastic view on the rooftop of the Hotel Storchen BUT unfortunately our experience overall wasn’t great at all. The ordered spit-roasted chicken was such a tiny tiny portion, tasteless and not even properly grilled - 5 CHF per piece! The Pimentos on the other hand were almost burned. The Cosmopolitan and the icy cold house red wine did not impress either. The service is ok but we didn’t get a feel of genuine hospitality. We were so disappointed that we left after 1 hour. I hope they will improve and not just rely on the great spot and the hotel‘s reputation…

Bad coffee and service, unfortunately

Wonderful location and heartbreaking outstanding view and in general, the drinks and finger food are great at Nest. BUT this time the hostess service COULD have been more CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY!!! We were asked to wait, the line was not moving at all, we waited for almost 30min downstairs. I decided to show the view from the bar to my friend and we were allowed to go upstairs. When coming to the bar we saw at least four available seats (by the bar and in the middle of the room), there were exactly us and another couple waiting to be seated but unfortunately, the hostess did not place us within these 30min. We could not wait any longer and left for a different place. It is so pity the service is not so proactive. The bar staff should value clients' time with more respect by finding any possible solution. Esp. coming back to business after the lockdown should motivate the staff to work harder and appreciate every single client.

Amazing location…. THAT’S IT. Extremely expensive for what it is, basic finger food, Negroni 22chf ????? and not even special. Staff is not friendly at all but hey ! Welcome to Zurich where everybody is rude and not client service oriented.

I've actually been to The Nest very often and have always been relatively satisfied. On a Saturday I had a drink there with a friend. We were sat down, but then wanted to change seats because the view from the other FREE spot was nicer. Unfortunately the waitress made a fool of us and sent us to the other place. Not a problem per se, but the way it was done didn't work at all. Except that I've been there a few times and actually changed places. It was probably because I had the wrong shopping bags with me. It's a shame to be treated like this from a place where you expect class and decency.!

My girlfriend and I wanted to treat ourselves to a cocktail at The Nest today. When we got a table after a long wait, we were quickly moved out of nowhere and seated AGAIN. A short time later a spot with a nicer view became available. When we wanted to change the food, we were insulted by the RED-HAIRED waitress. We were told: "Ladies, you can't move around, otherwise we would just do this all day long. You've probably already been told that down at reception." And in a VERY cheeky way. We were indirectly called liars when we denied her statement. We then sat back at our original seat and saw the waitress seeking confirmation from the receptionist for her statement, which, as mentioned, we denied. The service was therefore, as already suspected, CATASTROPHIC. This isn't something you're normally used to from storks. It's a shame because we were regular guests. NEVER AGAIN!

For the view this is the best rooftop in Zurich. They don't accept reservations so you have to queue. The queuing starts at 6 pm, I went in the afternoon at 3 PM and there weren't many people so I didn't have to wait. The drinks are good, the food wasn't great.

Bar tour, worst location, were almost ignored

Very rude staff - especially the bar manager. Therefore no feel-good atmosphere possible. It's a big faux pas for the representative Storchen Hotel to recruit such incompetent staff. Customer is king should be emphasized here: Unfortunately, this is not the case.

We read the reviews and were prepared for the Nest. Short conclusion: Understaffed. When we got in we got served by Sitta which was clearly under too much stress by having to serve the whole restaurant. After like 45 minutes Lia showed up to help and we felt kindness in her voice. Our order was messed up like 3 times. Food was delicious. Prices are normal for Zurich and especially for a rooftop bar. They have bottle of wines for 70 francs. There is organization for who comes in first. We waited for 45 minutes in line and the americans behind us got a better table. If you spend 1500 francs they can make a reservation for you which is great to know for a special ocassion. You usually need 8 people but they would do it just for 2 if you want to spend the money. If the owners of the hotels would need to have the place managed I am happy to take over just contact me. Thanks!

Hey guys you need to visit Nest Rooftop Bar, ask for Oskan, nice guy and all the staff as well, food amazing, every bit, we had a nice experience, highly recommended!!! I would give them 10 stars!

Rude service just hotel touristy bar.

Just been there for lunch. The location is undoubtedly beautiful, but the waiter's behavior was absolutely subpar. We ordered several plates and got half of them delivered. After about 30 minutes we asked about the rest that was missing and it turned out that the waiter hadn't taken our order completely. This can happen to anyone and is not a problem. We finally received the rest of our order very late. We then asked for the bill, on which the two "forgotten" plates were not listed. We thanked the waiter for this, who was taken aback and said that wasn't right. Then he printed out a new bill listing everything and paid without saying a word. No apology, no “little thing on the house” or anything like that. Unbelievable, what a display of customer service and hospitality this is.

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. Despite the nice view there's nothing else to enjoy here. The drinks were merly decorated and overpriced. The staff was not very attentive but friendly though. No music was playing which made the whole bar really uncomfortable let alone enjoyable. On top of that the type of customers was weird too. I recommend to re-evaluate the concept of the bar.

Gorgeous views. Annoying that they don’t take reservations so you have to queue downstairs and staff is not in a rush to tell you when a table frees up. Service is ok. The vegetarian bao bun is not bad but overpriced for what it is. Their homemade ice tea is not good, tastes like artificial syrup and way too much sugar.

Reception on the Limmat side was unfriendly. Better to use the main entrance. service and view service "saves" 5****. Top!! Swiss plättli are excellent for when you're hungry. Own white wine Kerner very tasty

Top location, but unfortunately very poor organization and unfriendly staff. You wait a long time downstairs for a table without any information about how long it will last and when you come up, almost 2/4 of the tables are empty. In addition, the prices are very high.

Super nice view. Portions are very small (large tartare for 42 chf is a starter portion) and it wasn't particularly good either (maybe a matter of taste). Aperol Spritz costs 20 chf. Price (you can do it, I would say very optimized). The result is that most people order 1 drink and stay for 3 hours. I'm not one of those people, I like to consume a lot, but the quality has to be right for the prices. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

The location, the good aperitif service deserves 5 stars, it's a shame that the bill was wrong and by a lot, they admitted and compensated, but after the second dispute. It smacks of premeditation, perhaps because it was clear that we were tourists. Sin .

You have to experience it once! Probably the most breathtaking view of Zurich and the lake basin. The bar itself is wonderfully well-kept and elegant. The service was professional and courteous. Finding the bar is probably the biggest challenge. I thought the Noam beer was excellent. The prices are of course high, but that is definitely to be expected given the view and this house. And it is also justified.
