Vapiano in Zürich

The place is self-service, something that was not clear to me or I did not know when I went, they give you a card and you stand in line for what you want (pastas, risottos, pizzas, etc.) and they add everything to you. that card, in the end you pay the girl who is at the door at the exit, the pasta is fresh and they prepare it in your face, then you look for where to sit, the only thing missing is for them to explain to you when you enter how it goes, since in In our case, they gave us the cards and didn't ask us if it was the first time or anything, I had to ask. The food was good, we ordered a pizza and a shrimp and pesto pasta.

I ordered raviolli con carne. Unfortunately the dish was poorly prepared. Even though we were there early, the chef was in a hurry. He left an impatient impression. I regret choosing this store.

Always good to have late night dinner here in a city where the options are not so many! Even at 11pm the chefs are tolerant and decorate every dish carefully.

Penne with pesto and penne with ratatoille. Only bad. Both the penne and the sauces. Very muddy affair. Mini salad is good.

Great food, i like the atmosphere.

The manager (Kamal) is giving very bad service to the customers, he is rude and speaks with out education, he doesn’t want to have a conversation if there is a problem with a customer. I was speaking with him with respect and he doesn’t want to speak in English. Very bad example for the employees. The rest of the employees are very nice and friendly.

Looks good, has plenty of space, we had dinner during the week. It was very tasty and well cooked.

Pasta definitely takes too long. Why can't you prepare two orders at the same time if you have two woks? It's a bit of a shame if someone receives the pizza 15 minutes beforehand and you want to eat together. The food is very good!

Not tourist friendly at all. Very rude staff; specially Manyola, she doesn’t know how to communicate at all, very rude. Expected a lot but was a total disaster experience. Berger recommend this for anyone visiting Zurich

You order vegan food and they still put cheese in it. Then you say specifically that you don't want cheese and in the end they still want to grate Parmesan over it. The meal was not charged for and you are asked why you specifically don't want cheese. Far too expensive for what the staff are incompetent and you don't get what you want to eat.

The chefs do a great job, are very quick to prepare and respond very well to the customers' wishes. The employees are always very friendly. The food is good, although not particularly outstanding. The bread was a bit hard and slightly burnt today, but it's usually good. Unfortunately, you have to wait in line for quite a long time to prepare the food, even outside of main meal times, as there are fewer cooks then. You then have to balance your food up the stairs to your seat and at the end you have to queue again to pay. The prices are relatively high for a self-service restaurant. Despite all the imperfections, I like it here and I visit this restaurant regularly.

Very welcoming environment and very good food, the solution of the card given at the entrance to use to load food into the various cooking/service stations is very practical, very attentive and kind staff. Very good!!!

Easy going restaurant for Families

I was there the day before yesterday and had to wait until a place was free. Then a man called Massimo came straight away and was very attentive and prepared the table for us. At the end he came back and asked if we wanted another coffee. He also recommended cake and we took it Attentive employees will definitely go again just because the employees were so friendly, something you don't see often these days

“Death by chocolate” desert is barely edible. C’mon, stop offering this tasteless low-grade cacao paste mix to your (occasional) customers - it is simply embarrassing. PS: In response to Vapiano's response: yes, we tried to eat it over the course of 20 minutes - it wasn't getting one iota better, sorry. Not sure how many customers like it as it is, but it's a world apart from a "chocolate" taste one can find in chocolate tarts or cakes in Italy and even less indulgent places.

Food was good but salty. The whole experience is around live cooking. I saw the chef splashing the salt, but it was too late to do anything about it. So just make sure you inform the chef abouy it earlier.

The store is big, we saw that it was full of people and we also sat down, then we learned that it is a chain of stores. Unfortunately the shop did not have a waiter but it was self service Luckily there was an English menu so we could easily order so we got up and ordered a pizza and a pasta which was a ravioli with a sea urchin filling and a margherita pizza along with a soft drink Unfortunately now the violin with the minced meat was like frozen. Very bad dish The bill was €55 I think it was quite expensive for what the store offers. And in line to order pasta There was a long waiting time. Unfortunately, the price-quality ratio and the service, which in fact does not exist, are average, so I would not recommend it.

Great to have the food cooked in front of you… so fresh and delicious! The best part of course is that you can walk in without reservation! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Today around 1:00 p.m. we treated ourselves to crema di funghi with spaghetti, big compliments to Johann, he prepared it deliciously 🙌🏽

90 minutes waiting time, cleaning women walk into men's toilets while a male employee was working in the women's toilet. There were no campanelle left, hardly any onions either, prawns for pizzas were fried at the pasta station, where many people were waiting, instead of at the risotto station, which was empty.

We had to wait in line for an hour to get tomato sauce from a can. Johann had 20 minutes for a Bolognese and even had to wait in line to pay

Nice restaurant with tasty products italian style - pizza, pasta, salads... There is an outdoor terrasse at the back of the restaurant which is really enjoyable on warm days/ nights

My girlfriend's food tasted okay, unfortunately mine didn't taste at all, it tasted like water, unfortunately I can't recommend it

Pizzeria with self-service in Zurich

75 CHF for two portions of pasta, two soups and drinks! And then we had to wait in line for over half an hour. In Vapiano Germany I pay around 50 euros for the same order including the table order. It's unreasonable to make people stand there waiting for so long and then charge so much for poor service from the chef. I spend 40 euros more then I go for a fine meal in a Michelin star restaurant. So much money for pasta whose production costs do not exceed 5 euros, the price-performance ratio is no longer correct. Guys, it's pasta, not Angus steaks. I'm not surprised that this concept brought Vapiano's downfall. But at least noodles taste good.

Unfortunately my visit to the Vapiano Restaurant was disappointing. The employee Cristos at the pasta counter was very unfriendly and did not respond adequately to our wishes when preparing our two menus. Although we each ordered two of the same menus, he only used one portion of the ingredients, but prepared two portions of pasta. This led to confusion and dissatisfaction as we ended up paying for two full menus. Furthermore, the two menus were prepared in one pan, although we normally receive separate pans to accommodate different levels of spiciness. The way the chillies were just thrown on top and the obvious lack of commitment from the staff detracted from the overall experience. In the future I hope for better service and more careful preparation of the food. In addition to the disappointing experience during my order, I would like to mention that the employee Cristos was not wearing his name tag, which initially caused confusion as to who was responsible for our order. Only later did it become clear why this was the case. A missing name tag makes it difficult for guests to interact with staff and creates a more opaque atmosphere in the restaurant. Afterwards we went to Sihlcity where we also cooked appropriately!

My children and I were there yesterday and we really enjoyed the food. Very friendly staff. Shella cooked for us and Anna served us very friendly at the bar! Big compliment!

At the entrance I had to wait a long time to get a card. Food was tasty and prepared quickly. Decoration is okay, it's a bit too dark and the chairs are rather uncomfortable to sit on.

Service was great especially Angel the Baar keeper was very friendly.

I like the concept of Vapiano. The food is freshly prepared and tastes good, but is expensive for self-service. Unfortunately, the waiting time was too long and the branch is relatively small, so it can get crowded at peak times. In addition, we were overcharged, but the money was refunded without any problems - although initially too little. But maybe it's just an unfortunate coincidence. I would visit the branch again outside of peak hours, but I will check the receipt carefully in the future.

Great homemade pasta and good pizzas in a nice place.

Cozy, no table service, you get a pass and you use it to order your food at the pizza bar, pasta bar, salad bar, etc. The same with the drinks. You then pay at the cash register with that card.

I really like Vapiano but this one won't see us again. Service really terrible. Early on Saturday evening there was no more open beer, as a replacement you get bottled beer which was also expired. Alternatively, we were offered warm Prosecco because we forgot to keep it cold.

It is very impressive that the kitchen works right before your eyes, and that every detail, especially in the pasta section, is made in consultation with you.

I really like Vapiano. I had a particularly good experience with this Vapiano. Very friendly staff and incredibly honest. I wasn't given enough change - after a quick check the money was handed over to me without any problems. The food has always been excellent! thanks for that

Service extremely unfriendly. Tables were full and yet the food counter was full. According to the service, I had to look for a seat with my pizza in hand even though everything was full. never again!!

I am disappointed with the service! As soon as there is hardly anything going on, all employees are overwhelmed. Nothing works anymore and everyone is running into everyone else's feet. I doubt the cognitive abilities of these employees & don't understand how an employer can hire them. The food is in the solid range (price-performance ratio). The pizzas have very few toppings and it feels like they aren't being generous with the amount of ingredients. I don't like being treated like that as a guest.

As always, the food was great and I would happily go back to another Vapiano. One cashier is an absolute disgrace and tries to charge you more than you consume. Certainly an isolated case and should not be passed on to other good employees.

Yummy vegan pasta with red sauce and veggies

Delicious home-made pasta and pizza. The place can get extremely busy but the food is fresh and tasty.

I miss Vapiano service and professionalism. Today, November 26th, 2023 at around 5:45 p.m., I was served by a Caucasian chef with broken German in Bellevue. He took my orders with little interest. I always politely asked if I could order something extra, but was told: I only have two hands. He simply gave up the food without any desire. Either he got the wrong job or he is very underpaid. Since I didn't want to lose my interest in the food, I ordered from the other chef. Vapiano team: Request to improve the service as I know back then. I would like to continue eating with you. Thanks and regards

The food was delicious, but 23.50 for a small carbonara portion is a bit much.

The Italian restaurant offers authentic flavors in a cozy atmosphere. The fresh ingredients and refined spices give the dishes a unique taste. The attentive service and the atmospheric atmosphere make the restaurant a culinary experience. Highly recommended!

The food was very tasty. Priced correctly. Something very loud inside. The staff is super nice. When a child broke a glass, a waiter (Yous...) came running and wiped it up straight away. Mega attentive. Thank you very much for the wonderful food

We ate pasta here and were unfortunately disappointed. The noodles were still quite hard which ruined the whole meal. One of the two chefs that evening was also slightly irritable, which didn't make the experience any better. Fine for an occasional meal, but I wouldn't eat here regularly.

Came here for a pizza which was quite good. But sadly the Ice Tea here comes at a ridiculously high prize of 7.00 CHF... I mean yes, it's got Vapiano branding, but isn't even made freshly & locally, the bottle says it's in fact made in Czechia...

Restaurant I went to as soon as I arrived in Europe The ordering method was unfamiliar to me so I did it, but it was fun in its own way and the aglio olio was really delicious👍 Be sure to add some beef haha.

Great restaurant with a good concept. The acoustics are very loud and even with few customers it becomes difficult to have a conversation. Great idea with live noodle making, especially for children 😉

High quality self-service fast food restaurant. Pizza and pasta are solid, and there is usually a seasonal menu (currently with pumpkin soup, pumpkin pizza, etc.). Depending on the time of day, finding a place can be a challenge; you may end up at a shared table with others. Is relatively quick and uncomplicated.

Zurich is quite expensive for Vapiano prices, but good. Unfortunately, the employees were extremely annoyed and very unfriendly. Requests were not addressed and we were told, “It’s Saturday and we don’t have time.” Food was good. Beautiful roof terrace.

A perfect compromise between affordability, quality food and a warm atmosphere! It was my first time here and wasn’t too sure how it all worked. The hostess kindly explained, and everyone else in the staff offered the same level of service.

Cool place, you get to choose your pasta and have it cooked right in front of you, so you can customize it and have it done to your exact liking. They use fresh pasta and I think it makes so much difference in the texture of the dish. Their desserts were meh though, I would skip them. Also to add, for a restaurant it Switzerland this was moderately priced without compromising on the quality of the food.

The ravioli con carne and spinachi e gamberi we ordered were not tasty at all! We had the feeling that it was prepared without any enthusiasm. Unfortunately just not satisfactory and unfortunately not the first time in Bellevue. We think the Vapiano in Sihlcity is better!

My son and I had a pizza today and we found it very tasty. Good dough, fresh tomato sauce, fine ham and enough mozzarella. I can recommend it. Only the lady at reception wasn't particularly friendly

Was there today for the first and last time. The service at the checkout and the two pizzaiolos were unfriendly, almost annoyed. As if they wanted to say: Don't stress and go back. Ordered pizza and waited next door for it. A carelessly prepared, white/pale something, not fully baked, thrown into the box with the pizza peel (or was it the plate?), as if they were feeding cows in the stable. Then said hello at the bar and asked for pepperoncini. No hello, no nothing. You gestured with your head where the oil was, I had to look for it myself. I think she is pregnant and therefore tired. No problem. But I didn't find it friendly. When I went out there was this Vishan standing next to me, but no thanks, no goodbye, nothing. Overall impression: never again.

Worst carbonara spaghetti I've ever had. The sauce had no taste and was just plain bland. It's a shame because the price was relatively high (for the fact that there isn't even a service here). The lady at the checkout was also very unfriendly.

We were waiting for the pasta in the queue for 40mins, stuff is working super slow, so if you want to eat fast - don’t go here. The taste was also not nice, pizza 1 of 5. Salad was a bit empty. And all this you get for the price of normal food.

I visited this restaurant on 26.08.2023 with three other people, including a child. Unfortunately, we all got food poisoning. Ironically, I have survived street food in many places of the world without any problems just to get food poisoning in central Zurich.

Very delicious Italian food, we ordered Carbonara pasta. However, we have been to this restaurant in other countries and the same dish costs half as much.. (Zurich prices 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Italian restaurant, very suitable for lunch and dinner with the family. We came there as a large company and received our orders within 30 minutes. 7 different pizzas and drinks were ordered. There is a Ukrainian-speaking waiter, unfortunately they didn't ask his name, but they thanked the guy for his help))))

The guy who worked with drinks and cleaned the tables wanted the brake but the shift leaders didn’t approved and the whole situation was very publicly. Personally I don’t like their comments and attitude about this. You can decline him a break but there is no need for some comments. Stuff who leads the workers need to me more leader oriented and not „ Boss „ oriented. Regarding the kitchen, food is delicious.

The ideal place if you want good, rich food but have little time. The food tastes very tasty and the quality is good. The staff is friendly, although Vapiano serves many customers in a shorter time. They got this balance right. Whenever there is no time for a cozy meal with conversation but quality cannot be missed, I visit Vapiano.

Decent pizza, considering the prices in Switzerland this is an acceptable price.

That was really a shame. The beer: 50/50 foam and beer. Pasta with garlic? Raw garlic thrown on the finished pasta...same with the pepperoni. It's a shame, vapiano was really great 15 years ago. But that was really modest

The prices? The food isn't worth it. Mixing a seasonal soup so that you can't see what's in it is not possible. You can put everything in. Service? For the high prices I have to get my own food and the chefs with long faces look annoyed and then give out coal bread. No “First Class”. Only the ambience is ok but not worth 5 stars. Minimum result: Failed in all points!!!
