VIVA berg.baiz in Churwalden

Today, Sunday, March 31, 2024, I spontaneously went for lunch. I found the menu very varied and had very tasty dishes on it. I haven't seen the dessert menu yet either. Really turned it on. The food was very tasty and can only be recommended. The employees were friendly and limited themselves to the bare essentials. Everything is good so far. I thought the price was high but the food was good. The atmosphere was ok but not really comfortable.

We had a great foundue chat in the Hüttli. Cheese fondue was very tasty and there was excellent white wine. Price performance is totally right. We will do the Foundueplough package again next time! Can be warmly recommended!

We celebrated a birthday with about 30 people and really appreciated the food. Everything was very delicately prepared and both large and small tasted wonderful. The organization in advance was very pragmatic, uncomplicated and friendly in nature. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the restaurant to everyone. In our opinion, the price-performance ratio was wonderful. Thank you to the whole team and see you next time

Unfortunately, ordering via the app does not work as expected. After 45 minutes of waiting, I asked where my order was. We're not talking about a complex order here. In addition, 1 meal was forgotten when we ordered. Maybe ordering via the app isn’t the right solution after all. The food was otherwise good

Modern robber baronism: a 0.5l PET bottle of CocaCola for CHF 5.90. This way you definitely won't generate regular customers, especially among the guests who have been coming to Brambrüesch for decades.

Nice place with good facilities.

We took the cable car up the mountain on a Monday in October and struggled to find a place to eat as it seemed nowhere was open. Bergbaiz was the only open restaurant we found and we were not disappointed. The food options were plentiful and authentic. Prices were fairly reasonable (given Switzerland's high prices and the location of this establishment). Bergbaiz is a great option to grab food and/or drinks after a hike!

This was my first ever to travel to this kind of entertainment place in the highest mountains and eat food and drink coffee. it was amazing experience.

Friendly is different. People don't seem welcome here. Ordering via an app is ok for me, but the waiting times afterwards are not at all. Where is the joy in entertaining guests among the employees here?

Very fine dining and very comfortable. Staff is friendly and makes an effort. The only deduction is 0.5 drinks for 6.90.- which is too much of a good thing.

Food was great, but just not too much of it ;). We had the Spätzli and another local dish.

We had to wait 20 minutes for a condition even though an employee was standing around outside. 2 other tables were occupied otherwise everything was empty. Our very simple order had to be repeated twice because we didn't understand the condition. 4 Coca-Cola, 1 coffee and an apple strudel. I don't know what you can't understand about it. Then it took 3 minutes to enter it into their ordering machine and another 15 minutes until the order was at the table. And then these prices for this service? Really underground. But when it came to paying, they were suddenly quick, but only possible with math tutoring. This is a shame for the lovely restaurant and location. I won't be coming anymore and won't have anything good to say. Malixerhof is a 5-minute walk away and recommended.

Great atmosphere, whether inside or outside. Lots of visitors on Sundays, so we had to wait quite a long time for drinks and food.

This was the first place for the appetizer on our gourmet hike. So it was soup or salad at 10:30 a.m. Both dishes were very tasty and strengthened us for the hike towards lunch.

We were there with a group. Very fresh food, beautifully presented, very good service. Also very good for gluten allergy sufferers (please register in advance). The diet chef tried very hard. Highly recommended.

Brambrüesch is always worth a trip, especially when you go to the Bergbaiz. You are always a welcome guest, with a lot of friendliness and a pleasant atmosphere. You have to accept the waiting time, but you have a great panorama. Sometimes I don't understand why people have something to complain about in this Baiz or write bad comments. Such guests should stay at home...

The behavior of the “boss” is completely insolent. No understanding after getting the wrong food. Vegetarian was ordered and it was brought with bacon. After the waitress took it away and brought a new one, the bacon was just removed and the same plate was brought back, i.e. there was still bacon underneath. After another complaint, the “boss” got loud and cheekily slapped the money we had asked for again onto the table and made another cheeky comment. Bottomless impudence like that!!!! I would recommend a course on how to behave towards guests and recognize your guilt… I've finished —————————————————————————- Here is the owner's answer: Here too the same table 31 on Sunday February 12th. We had a lot of satisfied guests that day. We try to treat our guests with respect, but we also expect respect. The table was served by more than one person, everyone tried in vain. Even though all the plates were empty, the money was refunded —————————————————————————— A lot of people are happy, that can be true... But you also have to understand those who are dissatisfied, especially when something like you did is done. 1 portion was served cold, the other was served with bacon instead of vegetarian...and the one with bacon was simply removed above the bacon and served again. It's just stupid that you didn't remove the bacon underneath the noodles. What would you have done if you were allergic? Would you have been so cheeky then? You should work on your behavior and tone when things don't go your way. As a landlord or even more likely an owner, you should be able to deal with such concerns better. It would have been polite to apologize, but you didn't even say that, you cheekily slapped the money on the table. That will not do. Ultimately, the customer is king. I work with clients myself, so I can say this with confidence. A friendly tone makes a lot of difference, which you didn't have and also means that you don't realize that it was your mistake. You can talk for a long time about how satisfied others were. But that one table wasn't it.

After a wait of almost 40 minutes, our order came. Unfortunately the spaetzli were cold and the Älplermakaroni with bacon instead of veggie. The spaetzli were warmed up briefly (no new portion). The Älplermakaroni came very well baked the second time (with a very dirty plate), but still with bacon in the lower layers. From this it can be concluded that no new portion was prepared, but only the bacon was taken out of the portion... If you offer vegetarian food, it should be served that way! After complaining again and demanding to get the money back, the boss became very unfriendly. He reluctantly “slapped” the money on the table with an inappropriate comment. The restaurant has a fantastic location, but the service is the complete opposite. What a shame!

Vegi was provided, unfortunately it came with bacon. Bacon was picked out from above and brought back to the same plate. Unfriendly service (where you call yourself the boss). I've never experienced anything like that, even in deepest Africa. Brought unclean plates. An impudence. I wouldn't even order more water here

We had to wait over 2 hours for fries and a cake, very unfriendly and the food was ok, we were very disappointed.

You wait over half an hour for service and when you come limping up to ask the previous guest to clear away the leftovers, you are only asked what you want...creepy subterranean service!!!

The mountain restaurant was cozy... despite the fog and drizzle, we enjoyed hiking... and in the restaurant we received a friendly and cheerful welcome and service!!!! the food was also very good!!!! I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy the sun and the view

A very beautiful corner in Switzerland. Very nice for hiking in summer and stopping briefly at the restaurant to feed yourself and your family. We ordered a "Plattli" which consisted of chicken nuggets and fries + sauces. Apart from the missing cutlery, there was nothing missing. Gladly again 😃

The restaurant would actually be closed because the train service was not running due to strong winds. The chef had cleared the snow from the terrace and warmly welcomed us and quickly opened the restaurant. Barley soup with house sausage is highly recommended. I also think family plates are great. Price performance is absolutely right. The vegetables (cauliflower) from Schnippo unfortunately deduct 1 star. Will definitely come back and recommend.

Great new ordering system at the table. Works great. Nice personel. It's nice that there is a daily menu with a drink on the menu. Food tastes very good (saffron risotto). Capun portion a bit small.

Completely overloaded, had to wait almost an hour for food and suddenly half the menu wasn't available (only a small menu). Food ok. Wallet shouldn't be too empty either, it's quite expensive (exorbitant prices). The toilet was worse than a rest stop.

The Bergbaiz makes a rather uncomfortable impression to me. It was drafty because there was probably a door or window open in the back of the kitchen. The cake I ate was good so far. Covid regulations were halfway implemented, service was ok.

Meeting place for workers working in the mountains and hikers who want a small snack and drink. Friendly staff, who will have a chat if they have time. Building has a wheelchair-friendly driveway which provides access to the terrace or indoor seating area. Toilets are located one floor lower and are only accessible via stairs.

We sat on the terrace. Weather great. Food very good. Service friendly and quick. We had to wait a bit to pay, but there was a huge rush at the time. A clear recommendation.

Were there for brunch on August 1st. The service and also the brunch were simply great! Everything possible is done to make you feel comfortable as a guest. Even if the weather didn't cooperate. But whatever, we'll just come back when the weather is nice. Definitely for brunch again.

Unfriendly and stressed...unfortunately we didn't know that it would close at five...because the last cable car leaves then. We were there at 4:40 p.m. and there was no drinking and the use of the toilet was reluctantly allowed!

Very nice restaurant, good food, ok price too. You have to be patient if you want to order food. Some staff shortage probably. But they try very hard to fulfill your wishes. The toilet is not suitable for people with walking disabilities, as there are a few steps to the lower area.
