The restaurant looks very attractive both from the outside and inside. You have the feeling of sitting in a vaulted cellar. Zurich Geschnetzeltes and starter platter were very good. Maybe the portion could have been a little bigger. One star deducted because the ordering process took too long for me.

The place had a very nice exterior decorated with cable cars, looked rather interesting. The interior of the place was quite rustic, but have many bigger tables to host big groups of people. The food portion was sufficient, several of us ordered the chicken basket which had multiple dips, one of us ordered the rosti meal and 2 of us ordered the hot stone beef meal (one was the more expensive cut). It was an interesting concept cooking the steak ourselves and there were a variety of sauces to dip after searing the steak ourselves. Also this is one of the rare restaurants that do not charge for water and it comes in a fancy shiny bottle. The servers were rather nice and noticed my mask dropped on the floor during eating so he offered to give me a brand new one as I was about to leave. Overall this place is not bad for dinner with nice Swiss food and ambience.

Unfortunately we cannot agree with the 5 star reviews. The food was rich and delicious but unfortunately our waiter was very stressed and annoyed. We had the impression that the restaurant was a bit of a mass tourist destination. It's a shame, but that was our experience in the Valais cellar.

A very good restaurant with many choices of fondue and what I am told is a classic Swiss fare. The house wine was a great pairing with the meal and portion size was just right for one or sharing with a larger meal. Will definitely come again on my next trip to Zurich.

Delicious traditional Swiss restaurant with an underground cellar theme. Beside the traditional fondue, they also have some of the more modern rendition of the traditional dishes made with different kinds of wine and beer. It's a place that I will have to go back every time I visit Zurich. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Rustic, excellent cheese fondue.

I was so glad to discover a restaurant with a vegan fondue. It was delicious!! We had a fun dinner and we ended up super stuffy with vegan cheese. The only observation (and maybe because I’m not fondue savvy) I would have been nice having other vegetables or things to dunk than bread and potatoes. But this restaurant is a must for a vegan stop.

The service was friendly however the room does not look like on the website, it is very dark and it smelled very strongly of fried food and fondue. The quality of the food was ok but nothing special. We waited quite long for the dinner even though we where only 9 people and the restaurant was almost empty.

Ate fondue outside. Nice location outside, friendly service. However, the statement that the 200 ml of white wine in the fondue pot were cooked and therefore "unproblematic" is more than problematic. (Alcohol doesn't completely boil away within a few minutes just because it shares a pot with cheese!) In any case, it hit me halfway in the head on an empty stomach - and that as a driver. Very bad fondue. Not edible. We had 2 portions of fondue and non of use could eat it. They offered a replacement without the cheap aftertaste of alcohol, but we didn't take it as the taste in general wasn't good, even if you remove the taste of alcohol. And the bread for fondue wasn't fresh. It was an expensive dissapoontment.

This restaurant is attached to the Best Western Hotel but still manages to operate on its own merits. Famous for its fondue which a lot of people seemed to order but does other local dishes too. Decorated like an underground cellar which looks authentic and has space for outdoor dining which wasn’t open during Covid. Staff and food were great and the chocolate fondue for dessert with mixed fruit pieces was a great end to a lovely meal (get one between two to be sensible)Outside had some tiny ancient cable cars setup for dining which look great but they weren’t open when we were there

Super Fleischqualität, nicht gefroren und dicker geschnitten als üblich, aber so zart, dass es trotzdem ganz rasch die gewünschte Garstufe erreicht, alle Saucen hausgemacht, gut abgeschmeckte Bouillon, heisse Pommes und genug von Allem. Toll! Für Fondue Chinoise Liebhaber die erste Adresse! Zudem - und in diesen Zeiten ebenso wichtig - das Schutzkonzept wird ohne wenn und aber umgesetzt. Man fühlt sich sicher zwischen mobilen Plexiglaswänden und kann sein Dinner unbesorgt geniessen.

Second spot with vegan fondue in the city I’m aware of. Their supplier is Vegusto, so if you’re a fan of the brand you will love it. They add their own seasoning so it’s not the thing you could probably easily recreate at home, therefore I recommend visiting this spot. I liked the very Swiss vibe of the place and the fact they have outdoor chairlifts adapted to tables and you can book them to have the full Swiss experience.

Super restaurant, friendly staff and exceptional Fondue Chinoise! The chocolate fondue dessert was also note worthy. I really enjoyed my stay and I'll make sure to come back! Please note that you need to book your table in advance: we had to book 1 week in advance since the place is always super busy, but trust me, it's really worth every penny!

I reached out to their restaurant in January 2020 (from the United States) to reserve time for a business dinner in Zurich for 50-60 people. They were great and so responsive. They made it easy to work with and provided me with different options for my vegan, vegetarian and gluten free guests in my party. I have been a few time at the Walliser-Keller and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Zurich. The atmosphere is really nice and suits well couples or larger groups. The service was friendly and prompt. We got the Swiss Herbs Fondue that was good - although I still prefer the moitié-moitié version. The Chocolate Fondue with fruit and marshmallows is really a blast, and I warmly recommend to anyone dining there.
