Good classic bourgeois cuisine. Good friendly service. Very good food. Asparagus soup, entrecote with new potatoes, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. Apricot sorbet with grappa. Will definitely come back.

Good food and coffee but the staff is constantly pissed for some reason. Pity...

Accidentally ran into this restaurant for lunch. Lots of options in the menu and we chose 2 set lunches, which includes either a soup or salad and a main course. Food is good, service friendly and fast. The server is patient in explaining the menu and the food comes quickly. The restaurant is busy with lots of customers. We can tell most of them are locals given the way they greet the servers and interact. Pricing is very reasonable in terms of Zurich standards. $50 CHF for 2 set lunches with ample portion is considered a steal given the cost of living here.

Traditional Swiss restaurant, one of the few still surviving in the city. The food was very good, we were surprised by the tartare, one of the best I've tried in Zurich, probably the best. The cordonbleau is well made, the cheese is very good and a generous portion of chips, beans and cauliflower. In short, a place where you can enjoy the traditional food of our city, we will definitely come back.

The Weisses Kreuz restaurant is located directly at Stadelhofen (near the opera and the Seefeld district). Due to the long opening times of the kitchen (until 11 p.m. and the restaurant itself is open until midnight), you can relax after or before a visit to the theater, opera or cinema (the Arthouse Piccadilly cinema is directly opposite and is highly recommended due to the location ) treat yourself to something warm. The restaurant is rustic and one of the few Zurich originals with home-style cuisine. Food is good (no wow) - we had the cordon bleu and the entrecote. The restaurant is more impressive because it creates a unique ambience in the evenings (loud and crowded, but at the same time pleasant and relaxing). It is advisable to reserve in advance in the evenings and especially Thursday - Sunday. Service is nice and the price-performance ratio is also good.

Very friendly and hard-working crew, who were a bit overwhelmed with the jam-packed restaurant. The cordonbleu was below average: oily, hardly any cheese.

Sometimes you regret there is no way to give 6 stars. This place deserves even more when we consider the "climate". An absolute gem on Zurich's map. The authentic restaurant full of local people and almost no tourists. It is not so far from the most fancy streets of the city but offers a unique and beautiful experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, beer is good, food is very tasty. Prices are extremely good. Weisses Kreuz, I'd love to to visit you again.

A very nice pub that rightly deserves the name pub but in a well-kept setting. Large portions at moderate prices with very friendly service from the three gentlemen from Sri Lanka!

Great CH cuisine, fast service!

The food was fine, but the service was disgustingly rude. The waitress kept rolling her eyes, was constantly annoyed by us. Wish I knew what did we do besides existing… When my husband tried to order in German, he was corrected by her, because he couldn’t pronounce the food’s name with proper Swiss German… When we tried to pay with card it was not successful for the first time. She couldn’t be more visibly annoyed, snorting like there is no tomorrow. Absolutely despicable attitude, have no idea how she is not fired yet. If you are a tourist, avoid this place at all cost. Not worth any money…

Terrible treatment and with xenophobic connotations. The waitress treated us so badly that we had to get up and leave without finishing ordering the food. Horrible experience. I do not recommend it.

Great traditional Swiss diner. Wanted a taste of real Swiss cuisine for a price that wasn't crazy, and it absolutely delivered. I had the Kalbsbratwurst with a beer and the "banana-mama" for dessert. It was absolutely delicious. Plus the service and atmosphere were great. Definitely would recommend for tourists. You know it's real when they don't have enough english menus.

I was there at Sechseläuten, had a meal for 60 CHF and was insulted by both the waitress and a regular guest. The reason for the dispute was that you cannot pay with a card, even though the card machine was passed around for payment in another area of ​​the restaurant. I was patient and offered to wait for the machine several times since I didn't have any cash with me (and, note, there was no announcement anywhere that you couldn't pay by card) - the restaurant was full due to the holiday. Finally, I was insulted as a “sheepskin” and asked to get money from the ATM, which I didn't do. The regular guest said that we were in Switzerland and that we pay in cash here. Finally the card machine arrived and I was able to pay. Never, never, never again!

The Weisse Kreuz is still a real pub. I like going there. If you catch a time when it's not so crowded, it's a real pleasure. A good drink, the latest newspaper, friendly service - what more could you want? Cheers White Cross!

Good home-style cuisine in a home-style atmosphere. Service could be better and the "regular customers" aren't necessarily tasty to look at either. Actually a successful balancing act between a middle-class resti and a regular pub. If only the drinks were at least constant. But sometimes the beer tastes like dishwashing liquid, then the glass is still dirty from the previous guest and when you complain, people just shrug their shoulders! It was the last time I was a guest at the white cross!!!

We came here on the day of the Sechselauten festival for dinner, it was very busy but we had a reservation. The food was great but the service was TERRIBLE and DISGUSTING. Our waitress was so rude, I can’t count the amount of times she rolled her eyes, threw her hands up in the air, or got annoyed with us for no reason. Definitely not worth the visit with the way we were treated. She got frustrated with us when we weren’t quite ready to order and the carry on when we needed to enter our pin to pay, all because “she didn’t have time for this”. We watched the waitress all night while we ate her food, and her attitude was awful and rude to every other customer as well. SO BAD.

Where else can you find the “upscale neighborhood pub” in Zurich? Here!! Everyone likes to come to the Kreuz often: commuters, cinema-goers, poor people, Büezer, normal people, NZZ editors, opera house visitors and Seefeld bankers in suits. Very reasonable prices, excellent cuisine (yes, even the Cordon Bleu, which some complainers here disparage). Specialty: Swiss cuisine & Thai food. Usually just a short waiting time. Staff are generally friendly, but sometimes a bit too harsh when stressed. Likeable: carpenters (journeymen) apparently find food, drink and bed here for free while passing through. To the landlady: Please keep it up!

Excellent Rosti and Bratwurst and the Feldschlossen Beer wasn't too bad either. Really enjoyed our visit and the service was fantastic. We found a lovely authentic Swiss Restaurant

What appears to be a very conservative Swiss bistro has been transformed into a restaurant with a menu of traditional Thai and Swiss dishes. The previous owner probably had to sell his property, probably to the great dismay of the bar stalwarts who spend their afternoon reading their newspaper over a glass of wine or beer. The setting has remained in “its own juice” and the dishes offered are very well served. Obviously Thai dishes make all the difference. The price remains high because we are in Switzerland and also in Zurich. But if we ignore the desserts the bill remains equivalent to France. This is a good option for eating out of hours near the Place de l'Opéra where nearby restaurants are really overpriced.

I recently visited a restaurant for lunch and had an overall okay experience. The food was decent, nothing exceptional, but it was satisfactory. However, the service was somewhat disappointing as we had to wait longer than expected for the bill. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the restaurant seemed to be a standard quality place for lunch. The staff was friendly, but their service was slow at times. In summary, if you're looking for a decent place to have lunch, this restaurant may be a good option. However, it's not the best place for a fine dining experience, and the slow service can be a bit frustrating.

Made a stop here from the train station. Had the Indonesian Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice). Although not authentic but it was good. Overall, it was enjoyable.

Bourgeois cuisine in a bourgeois atmosphere, but unfortunately very loud. We didn't like the pumpkin cream soup. When we told the waiter about it, he just complained that we should have let us know earlier. He didn't let us finish and became very loud (he can't handle criticism very well). We would not recommend this restaurant.

Good grief. Some people are stupid. If you read reviews about the "poor quality cordon bleu" then maybe that's a good hint to NOT order the cordon bleu. The Bratwurst with Rösti was simply delicious. Someone put some genuine effort into putting that plate together. Friendly and efficient service too. The sidewalk table was perfect on this sunny day but make sure you check out the bar area for a bit of local Swiss culture. Highly recommended.

The 'Weisse Kreuz' Ost is a rustic pub like there aren't many in the city of ZH. Several menus every day, mostly of good quality. Prices OK.

Very good Swiss cuisine with extremely friendly staff and good value for money. The restaurant has a lot of wood on the inside and the acoustics were rather loud. The location is brilliant. Vegetarian menus are available, but most menus are meat-heavy. I'd love to come back.

Great restaurant in a central location. After exploring Zurich, hunger came to visit. We discovered this restaurant near the train station by chance with a group of 4 people. A bit strange at first, as everything seemed very old. But wrong! It's getting old, yes, but not old, but rustic! There are no frills like tablecloths and decorations here. Here you can get typical Swiss dishes and at fair prices. Very nice staff who are also very quick. The advertised side dishes were changed without our consent. Original sound: "But they also go well with it," but that was somehow appropriate for this restaurant. The food was plentiful and very good. I've always wanted to eat tripe, you can still get it here. Rooms and toilets clean. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

As tourists, we discovered this business almost by chance, but we were not disappointed. A selection of Swiss cuisine dishes. Authentic, local, and above all very tasty. Home cooking or home-style cooking is the word here. Totally recommended, especially if you want to get a little away from the immediate old town (and its prices).
