White Horse in Lausanne

I went there during a lunch break. Fast food, time spent there a little less than an hour, good burger, good fries and good beer. Nothing to complain about there. I also appreciated the decoration and the staff being impeccable. However, at more than 37 francs for a burger and 4dl of draft beer... It stings. Neither the quality nor the quantity justifies these prices in my opinion.

During our dinner at the White Horse, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the friendly and relatively quick service. The beer was also delicious. Although the restaurant was not very busy, we enjoyed the experience. We recommend it for a pleasant and relaxed evening.

We went to eat lunch as a family. The people are very friendly, the menu varied and the prices reasonable. Thank you for the drawing blocks and pencils that were offered to the children. We'll be back soon

Great place for burgers and beers with very welcoming service. Works late and serves food until midnight which is rare in Swiss! It could be even better if burgers could be served medium rare.. Will visit again!

Open till late, under the moon's soft light, Where tales and laughter fill the cool night. A blend of cultures on a plate and glass, In this warm haven, all can raise a toast and pass.

Very welcoming and pleasant staff. We didn't eat anything but we came to take part in a Blindtest event.

Best value in near Lake proximity. Excellent food and beer selection. Shame about the loud tv but still you are well taken care of. I had a salad with prawns and salmon and it was delicious!!!

A place that I recommend without hesitation! Attentive staff, good home-cooked food and a restaurant kept clean from the plate to the toilets! We were a group of 10 with children (not easy) and all the dishes were served at a good pace. Thank you for your welcome, it was superb!

Until last year, we were used to coming to this great restaurant with truly excellent food quality! Since the beginning of this year we have been there 3 times and the 3 times have been the last..... Fries inedible, cold, meat lukewarm and full of nerves, the quantities are correct but the quality has become really cheap. I do not recommend this restaurant, bad fries, sardines or sardine oil in a Caesar salad, poor quality meat for an unchanged price. I don't find that correct. The service is good, the atmosphere on the other hand we don't hear each other spoken, when we came there was a group of 6-7 people playing darts behind us, the noise and the cumbersome side with bad food means that we will not return there again, price-wise an addition of 150.- for 4 people without alcohol or dessert including 2 Caesar salads and 1 entrecôte.

While passing through Lausanne, we stopped at this address on the recommendation of a local and we were not disappointed. Plus in this month of October the sun was with us...the friendly and warm service, the food was very good, we had salads and they were plentiful enough...In short we had a very good time, I recommended !!!

Restaurant with a bit of an “Irish pub” atmosphere which is very pleasant. A quick stop to drink a cold beer, very good and really inexpensive. We will return there to taste the cuisine! So we went back a month later with friends for a farewell drink, and it was very good and very plentiful. Really nice atmosphere, and friendly service. Plus (little tip, before 7 p.m.), we were able to take advantage of happy hour for drinks! I recommend this address 🤩

Due to my visit to this restaurant, I almost missed the train and then the plane. We wanted the service to be as quick as possible, so before we looked at the menu, we wanted to find out how long we would have to wait for the dishes. We had a maximum of an hour for the entire service and food. We were assured that everything was going smoothly and that we would be served quickly... ok, we just had to wait for the waiter who had to serve the table. And so we stood and waited and waited and after 10 minutes we were talking "where can we finally sit down?" We were told that we should choose... after 10 minutes of waiting for the staff who were about to return, we had to make ourselves at home. Ok... And we sit and wait for the menu... 10 minutes, then the waiter comes to take the order. And we haven't received the menu yet... ok. To relax, I managed to order a drink (from memory, from a conversation with the waiter). After waiting a dozen or so minutes for the drink, we received it, but the order was wrong. I didn't want to waste any more time, so I finished what I got... we had about 10 minutes left to eat, pay and leave on time. I wanted to get up from the table and leave. They would have lost CHF 30 for the crazy cocktails and would have had something to eat, and I wouldn't have missed the train and the plane and the whole trip in general. They had to pack the food to go, so I didn't enjoy it. The dish itself looked as if it had been standing and waited for us in the kitchen for 30 minutes... but there was no time to complain. The steak was poorly cooked, the fries were yellow-black in color and had more water in them than crunchiness or even flavor. They were inedible when fresh and the entire dish had to be packaged for takeaway. I paid over CHF 60 for a cold steak, old fries, 2 wrong cocktails, wasted time and additional stress not needed before the trip.

Traumatic experience, the owner of this restaurant has lost his mind! My 15 month old and 7 year old sons and my wife went to lunch today at noon at the "White Horse" restaurant. We ordered a la carte and when my son received his fish and chips, I asked for a little bit of tartar sauce. The boss told me to charge it extra. I told him that for the price of the dishes, a little bit of tartar sauce could be included. He got angry, punched the wall and told me he was the all-powerful boss and that I could never come back to his restaurant again. My whole family was traumatized and this gentleman ruined my appetite. It's unfortunate, because the entire staff is super nice, but this man who recently became boss, has taken on a huge head and is very aggressive. Avoid at all costs!

Very friendly and welcoming staff, very smiling and professional waitress. Good Burger and the fries are delicious. Location close to the lake and a few parking spaces nearby and non-stop cooking which is practical when you want to eat outside of lunch service. Eaten there.

We have eaten well. Fast and excellent food. Wonderful staff, very attentive. Very good location near the lake. A little noisy with the road nearby but very bearable. Glass panels are installed to limit this.

I was there for a drink and it became my spot. The cocktails without alcohol are one of the best I ever try since I’m in Switzerland. And the burgers amazing.very friendly staff. My friend choose the Mix. There is also kids menus.

Great burgers and lots of beers

Close to the lake, pub style, the White Horse is an astonishing bistro. Beautiful menu including a list of succulent hamburgers. The White Horse has a gluten-free version, served with a delicious gluten-free purpose. Class! We can eat at more flexible times. Among the wines, a wide choice of wines by the glass. Top. Standard tables, some with high chairs and a nice level terrace. Screens also to broadcast sporting events. Gluten-free ones are very well treated.

Interesting street restaurant in the center of Lausanne. Had a beef steak medium perfect! Had Drank the best mojito there, unfortunately it wasn't offered during the "happy hour" period

Best Burger I've eaten in a long time. Quality dishes (excellent truffle pasta) Very good service, very fast. I would come back without hesitating.

The food and service was excellent. The only thing to know is when sitting exterior the chairs are not so comfortable, if you are 3 or more persons there are some chairs without back support, sometimes while eating you get tired, otherwise everything was good.

One of the best spots for a drink and some pub food in Switzerland. Great selection of beers on tap as well as a cider, Guinness was tasting fresh. The service is always friendly and the burger I had was absolutely delicious! I also appreciated that they have the option of sweet potato fries which were crispy and not soggy at all. Highly recommend for drinks, watching sports or grabbing a casual bite to eat.

A nice place to sit, nice happy hours, tasty food and, above all, relatively normal prices!

Food is a 10/10. Ambience is also great. Like a classic sports bar with football and tennis. But the service… we were served once during happy hour. In a whole hour! That does not work like this. We waited 30 minutes for the bill because no one came. Positive: the dog got water :)

Food OK even if the accompaniments (with a burger) are light for a burger at 26 CHF... On the other hand, the price of the beers... 4 dl for ~9 CHF is not far from being a steal... To summarize: Nice atmosphere but too expensive for what it is.

I don’t know how this place gets such high scores. The hamburger was cooked like leather and had a strange taste, the lamb shank was tasteless, tough and served with boxed pasta. The salmon “ steak” was a thin piece of salmon fillet. My one friend did like the fish and chips but that was the highlight. We had a variety of servers and none really checked on us after the food was served. It’s more bar/pub with typical bar food, not a restaurant.

The hamburgers and fries are amazing! 100% satisfying, especially after a hike! Plus: Very good beer selection! Highly recommended👌

Deplorable welcome from the owner who, according to him, "will no longer take reservations from us because we do not generate enough turnover for him" without counting the managers who do not question the quality of their food who is according to them "perfect" so I strongly advise against it and if despite everything you still want to discover this bar, prepare your wallet otherwise the boss might give you a moral lesson (if you don't score 3/400. - number per table according to his statements).

The burgers are good and well presented. However, I find that the price is quite expensive for a burger. When you pay 25.5 CHF, you still hope that a salad is included with it.

I am very sorry but there's a double standards due to customer. I asked french fries with my beer to the service staff He told me that I should wait 5:30 pm . Then the same staff brought french fries to the next table after 10 minutes. When I asked why? He told me that kitchen was busy when I asked

The food is excellent and the youngest evening waiter is very friendly and helpful… on the other hand the older waiter, the one with a beard, is not friendly at all, he spoke to us very badly just because my brother spoke to him in English (he comes from London) But eating well is worth it.

Go only if you’re prepared to have the manager / main bar tender roll his eyes at you, raise his voice if you take a few seconds too long to decide if you want another round, and make sure it’s not ordered in the last five mins of happy hour unless you want a lecture and to be refused your order. Oh, and if you go as two people and sit at a table for four, two others (not three, not one - TWO) more better show up. Otherwise you have to move tables. And god forbid a few extra friends come join. For being a “sports pub” - definitely rigid and unpleasant and this guy alone makes it so.
