The service was super unfriendly and condescending. Several other guests also had a problem with the older lady. My mother asked very nicely for a water container for the dog and she gave a really cheeky answer, so I had to step in and say something. I have never experienced something like that. Otherwise very nice and pleasant restaurant.

2024: our favorite restaurant, even if you have to cross the lake! We love it and recommend it. We have become regular customers! A seasonal menu changes approximately every 3 months, in addition to the top standard menu. Service and portions sometimes a little random. Always very responsive to calls and emails. Congratulations to the team. (The millefeuille goes very well and allows you to prolong the pleasure the next day at home!) 2023: Delicious meal on the terrace. But shocked by the dose and the billing for a mini dose of whipped cream. I ask for lots of whipped cream: the waitress tells me no problem and she brings me 2 mini pots half full... Each charged 1.5 chf. At this price I would have preferred to have a scoop of ice cream! Especially since she didn't warn me... I made the remark to her when paying... That's it... I was disappointed on this point.

Delicious onion and fondee soup

This is the perfect place for a relaxed weekend lunch with friends and family. Beautiful woods surround the restaurant. Quality of food is always good, good wine selection and attentive staff. We have been many times…extra idea: you can easily do a long walk from centre of Zurich

My visit to Dengenried was marked by an excellent entrecote with Café de Paris. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty. The Café de Paris sauce gave the whole thing a spicy touch that harmonized really well. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a very good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Recommended for anyone who appreciates a good steak.

Very popular, a bit noisy, food and service good

Degenried is a very cozy restaurant in the middle of the wood. The atmosphere is like the one of a hut in the mountains. The food is what you’d expect from these places and it is based on Zurich style Swiss cuisine. Fondue and alike are on the menu, but we normally go for the Cordon Bleu, which is well prepared and has the right size. We came here a couple of times and once service was unfriendly, but otherwise is OK. I know they have a wine list, but normally I go for beer here (a few options) and I cannot comment much. Overall, a nice place to go if you are around.

Prices too high for quality. Open wine prices astronomical.

Very good. But CHF 170 for Fondue, 2 small salads, basic wine for 2 people is a bit much! However, it is a special place tucked in the woods. And the Fondue was, indeed, amazing! Maybe the best I've had!

We went there special for the cheese Fondue it was amazing! The waitress tried to misslead us to order a much larger portion, when only 1 portion was enough for sharing between 2. She was also rude to us and did not give us good service like the other customers. I assume it was because of our race. Otherwise, food and ambience was great. The other staff were very nice!

The food and service were really good. Unfortunately, despite the heaters, it was far too cold in the winter garden. The food cooled down quickly, the wine was too cold and, despite blankets and heaters, after a while it became too cold to sit. The tables in the winter garden should only be 'sold' for the aperitif, but not for an entire evening.

This is a wonderful place in the woods to enjoy lunch or dinner. The setting is incredible really inside the forest and it can be beautiful both during the winter and during the summer. You will find traditional Swiss food here that was well cooked and also portions are decent. Also prices are OK. So overall for sure recommended!

Rather small portion (for me, not enough croissants in relation to the three minced meat patties). Vegetables very fine.

A lovely restaurant on the edge of the woods. It’s worthwhile taking the Dolderbahn up and then walking the last ten minutes there. Excellent food prepared with care. I had a truffled potato soup that was stellar. Highly recommended.

We wanted to eat traditional swiss cuisine, so we got here based on a recommendation. The place itself is very welcoming and nice. We ordered from the seasonal menu different dishes but we got the same one and we were to hungry at that moment to give notice to the staff of the mistake. The prices are a little too high for what they offer, but it was a experience and the food was tasty.

Delicious Swiss traditional food. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. The location is ideal and even the outdoor tables are warm on a November lunch with the heating and blankets provided. Staff speak English.

Very good Leberli with Rösti, excellent venison ragout, nice selection of wines, cozy room, dog-friendly. The only downside: rather expensive. If you want to eat well in Zurich these days you have to pay.

Not recommendable! The behavior of the staff was not pleasant and courteous and unfortunately the food wasn't really good either, the price/performance ratio wasn't right and the ambience wasn't good either due to the staff! Seems very focused on profit and not the well-being of the guests.

The Degenried business is beautifully situated in the forest, surrounded by trees. Probably a dream on the terrace in summer. We were in the restaurant itself when the temperatures were slightly cooler. Although we were there at lunchtime on a normal working day, the restaurant was completely full. Luckily we had reservations. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and the food was excellent. The only downer: Although in my opinion the economy can be placed in the slightly higher price range, I found the price of 1/2 liter of open red wine from Fr. 45.00 and more a bit steep. I know that this price has become absolutely normal in Zurich since Corona. The quality may well justify the price. But on the other hand, I don't necessarily want to enjoy top quality wine by the glass. Because then a bottle would clearly be the better choice. A good house wine for Fr. 25.00 to 30.00 should also be possible today.

Very incomprehensible waiters. Entire restaurant empty. We reserved more than 12 hours in advance and still couldn't get a seat. It's a real shame... we were very happy and took a long journey. Not recommended

For us older couples, the Degenried is a wonderful place to take a breather, with or without a big appetite, with or without children and/or grandchildren with or or bicycles, whatever the time of day. It was always relaxing, refreshing and filling - It was difficult for me to write about it until I realized that only us old and even older people come to the Adlisberg in their cars while the young ones jog past -

A very nice and cozy place, everything runs smoothly and efficiently... Enjoyment Oasis Puur... from fresh goat cheese with pinene and honey to beef fillet served bloody and accompanied with translucent vegetables... such as carrot and spinach...

We really loved this restaurant! The service (thanks Nicole!) was impeccable, the food was excellent (the spare ribs with baked potato/sour cream and coleslaw salad were outstanding!) and the cozy atmosphere also fits this hospitable restaurant in the middle of the forest.

I had dinner with my sister in this wonderful typical restaurant in the forest in Zürich, just 15 minutes from the centre! Everything was wonderful, nothing to complain! Highly recommended! 😉🙏

In the forest and yet central to the city. The restaurant is idyllically located in a forest clearing, about a 10-minute walk from the Dolderbahn mountain station. Perfect for getting in the mood before arriving and digesting as you walk. The food is very good. I had my best tomato mozzarella salad here. 4 different types of tomatoes with a very, very fine Mozzarella di Buffalo. Then spareribs with a baked potato with sour cream. Heavenly! Definitely worth another visit.

Good food, some rarely seen dishes (bone marrow) and local specialties (Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, fondue), delicious desserts, really friendly service and, especially if you can sit outside, nice atmosphere.

One of the coolest places in town. This restaurant is close to Dolder and in the middle of the forest. A must see!

We came here because we saw great Google reviews of the location and they did not disappoint. I got the beef filet which was cooked a little less than medium, but it wasn't rare. My gf got the fondue which she enjoyed, I'm no fondue expert. The restaurant is not far out of the city but it is in the woods so it has the feeling of being in the country. It is close to a family fun park and a regular park/hiking area so parking can be limited. As an outsider to Zurich, we were actually parked illegally but luckily no ticket. The restaurant has menus in German, Italian and English which was a big plus as well. All food came out prompt, hot and fresh. I would definitely visit again.

Spare rips are very good. Unfortunately, Züri Gschnätsluts wasn't very good, a bit bland and boring. Ambience and staff great, very welcoming.

Hello Google friends! I definitely have to tell you about my last restaurant visit. It was so dreamy that I felt like I was on vacation. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant! There are few places that offer as much refuge and relaxation as this place. The service was fantastic. The staff can make you feel like you are the most important guest in the house. I felt like I was surrounded by millionaires. The food was fresh, tasty and prepared with great attention to detail. It tasted so good that I shed a tear of joy when I took the first bite. This meal was a real treat! My conclusion: I will come back. This is a place not to be missed. Next time you're looking for a beautiful restaurant, this is the place. Lovely restaurant in the woods, with a terrace. We stopped by for an afternoon snack of dessert and drinks, and it was top notch. Very delicious cremeschnitte and shoggi-mousse, and the ginger lemon tea was great too. The area is really out of my way, but I'm already very strongly tempted to go back again just for this restaurant!

The swiss fondue here was excellent tho a bit pricey. It's nestled in the woods making it a nice and peaceful location.

A hidden gem! We stumbled across this on a forest walk with friends, and couldn’t have been happier. Wonderful welcome, very friendly and approachable staff, and when the food arrived… excellent! We had the burger 🍔, 🐔 burger and chicken 🐔 nuggets. And one seasonal ravioli - all were delicious. We had 4 children in our group of 8, and they were very welcomed too by the staff. Never once did we feel unappreciated as guests. Well done, guys. We loved it and will be back!
