The Aperol was delicious. It doesn't say anywhere that you can't pay by card! That's very disappointing!

Serving soup from a supermarket and charging 16 francs…. Found the same soup in Migros for 3.40 francs.

Extremely expensive cappuccino that looked like colored water. Poor quality! Furthermore, it has not been possible to pay by card and they do not even give a receipt - the accounts are handwritten on paper. How is this possible in Zürich? A place not recommended to return to even though it has magnificent views and is the only one open on Sunday!

It's really worth learning how to make a cappuccino.

The staff was so friendly! food was awesome and the cheesecake was delicious :) would definitely recommend this café, especially on a sunny day if you want to enjoy the view by the river.

Such a cute cafe in perfect location. We had greek salad, pumpkin soup, tea, coffee, cheesecakes. Everything was tasty. Service was excellent, they were closing and didn't rush us. Thank you!

The customers are driven away due to the active unfriendliness of the staff (lady on February 21st, 2024 in the afternoon). Several customers were "reprimanded" in front of my eyes...only cash accepted...🤦🏼

We were not told that we can just pay by cash and they dont even have cash to pay back the change, so they gave us euros which is not even the same value. They are a disaster

Nobody informed us we can only pay by cash, so after going to the ATM and getting the money, the staff already forgot about us, it took long time to finally get their attention in order to pay. Once I finally did pay, they don't have cash to give you change...so, instead of 5chf, I've got 5eur xD. Tourist trap.Alive thanks to the location.

Stay away. There are many great coffee places in the area - this is not one of them. Service is absolutely terrible. They only take cash but wouldn‘t tell you upfront… Not recommended.

Bad food and bad service. A soda was served instead of Sirocco tea. The pizza we ordered (purchased ready-made!) arrived burnt. The cheese was barely melted, but the bottom was black. Because I was hungry, I started eating the part that was a little less black. We wanted to ask the waitress if we could get a new pizza, but we weren't served at all. We sat outside for at least an hour and weren't even asked how the food was or if we wanted to order anything else. When we went in to ask for the bill, it took another 15 minutes until someone finally came. We pointed out the burnt pizza and asked if they could accommodate us in the price. The answer was: “They have already eaten it, they should have said something beforehand.” Great! I would have said something if we had ever been served! After that we could only pay in cash and had to go back in; because they still had a card machine and we were missing 15.- in cash. (You could have left it alone as a courtesy, keyword burnt pizza..) In the 5 minutes we were inside, two other guests came in to ask if they had to order inside or if someone was coming outside. The guests were almost shouted at to just wait outside. There was no apology or at least a sign of understanding. This was definitely my last time at this place, which I told the staff. And that didn't get any reaction either :-)

I went to this bar with company and ordered a cappuccino. It was really a disappointment, the cappuccino was not good, the glass was long and narrow, there was some foam placed at random, it looked like Mount Cervino, and among other things they added cocoa without first asking if I had consented . The place is located in a nice area with good potential, it's a shame that the staff doesn't have the right skills otherwise it would be a good bar!! Having excellent coffee machines should be in symbiosis with having the right qualifications!

Worst and most expensive coffee (cappuccino 7.80) in Zurich. Service doesn't come outside, you can wait forever.

They give me a bad look when I sit on the terrace in the distance and when I approach, they tell me that you only pay with cash and serve at the bar and then they serve me an espresso for 5.50 chf in a paper cup...I don't care. I could believe it... What is my surprise that a Swiss man arrives and serves him at the table and puts the espresso in a porcelain glass 😳….And there I caught his attention and he dropped the tray 🫣 What a shame that in Zurich and in this location there is a place with such terrible service 😡

The most disgusting pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I was shocked when it was put on the table. 27 francs for something that I wouldn’t even feed to rats. They will except card if you insist that you do not have cash.

The only positive aspect for this restaurant is the location / view. I arrived here because the cocktail bar next door at Hotel Storchen was full and I wanted to drink a coffee by the river. Better to wait 10-20 minutes for a table to become available there than to come here. What they serve here can hardly be called coffee, it is only colored water which they sell at an exorbitant price even for Switzerland. I'm pretty sure there is evasion here, only cash payment is accepted and no tax receipt is offered. If you do not have CHF, payment of the note in EUR is accepted.

Ordered beer and coffee. Waited over 20min. Didn't even get a menu. What we ordered never arrived. 20-30 minutes later we left without having received what we ordered. Then saw that they apparently only accepted cash. Lucky we went.

Unfortunately, the beautiful view doesn't make up for the subterranean service. Incredibly unfriendly. You have the feeling that you, as a guest, have to apologize for your visit.

They do not accept credit cards as a means of payment and they do not give a receipt with the amount paid. I had to leave my belongings and my passport to go out and find a working ATM on a Sunday. Judging from the reviews, I’d say the owners might engage in some tax evasion of some sort. Bottom line: avoid this place.

Beautiful view. Good food, but overpriced. They didn’t take credit card so I had to go withdraw money from the atm.

The worst coffee in one of the most beautiful places Zurich has to offer. A pity. Tip to the landlady: Buy a new coffee machine and make decent coffee. What you served us has about the aroma of dishwater.

The café is located along the river. The cappuccino was ordered and it arrived hot and tasted great, but the dessert was substandard. Important note: The café does not accept payment by credit card or bank card. It only accepts cash!

Impolite staff. Didn't bring any menu. We ordered. Once we wanted to pay, they said it was cash only. This was not written anywhere, but they claimed it was mentioned in the menu, which we never got. Tables are super close to each other, impossible to have any privacy. Definitely not recommended. Nice view on the river.

Popped in for some drinks on a rainy day. Nicely decorated place with bistro art and seating, and outdoor seating available. Service was rushed and not the most polite. The range of teas were good but other hot drink menu was slightly limited - not the best prices around either. There were cake options but nothing stellar. Cash-only payment was a bit inconvenient but okay for us. Great view of the river.

Unfortunately, apart from the beautiful location, there is nothing positive to say. Cappuccino for SFR. 7.50 was like brown Limmat water. Service unfriendly, card payment not possible. Shameful for Zurich.

Location right on the Limmat is nice, but that's about it. Service staff very unfriendly. When we wanted to pay we were told that this was only possible in cash. I think if you do this, you should be made aware of it by the staff before/when ordering!!! When paying, the service lady said in a snippy tone that I should quickly find an ATM and use my husband as collateral! have to stay there. The neighbor didn't have any cash with her either and had to leave her ID behind (for a coffee) while she went to the ATM.... In retrospect, it's clear to us why there were free seats outside in this restaurant in particular while all the neighboring restaurants were packed to capacity were. Only CASH payments in 2023 and in a cosmopolitan city Zurich is very special and raises questions

Cash only. Not advertised. Every other bar and restaurant in Zurich with very few exceptions takes card or twint. Not this place.

Unfriendly service. They have to learn how tea should be served. This includes something small sweet and, as a polite form, sugar. I wanted to order another Prosecco, but changed my mind. I'd rather go to a neighbor and leave my money there.

One of my favorite cafes in Zurich. The atmosphere inside and outside, as well as the quality of the fine offerings match the friendly, courteous and cheerful service. (Unfortunately, not all staff are like that, but we're mostly lucky.) But we always come back👍🥰

They charged 23 CHF for a frozen pizza that you could buy from the supermarket. I understand that It’s expensive in Zürich but i would recommend you to go to Vapiano or any other pizzeria for a real meal instead so you don’t go hungry. But great view.

I should have read the other reviews first: I read that others have already asked why the staff doesn't point out when ordering that you can only pay in cash. It's on the menu, but it would be nice if you do it verbally. And it would be even better if the service wasn't so condescending. The price is high, but the view is magnificent. The cold coffee was average.

They offered us a 1 CHF frozen pizza from Lidl as “homemade” pizza for 23 CHF. They ripped us off! Also, the wine was terrible. Good views though.

Only cash payment possible (no Twint either). We only became aware of this when we paid, as the waitress didn't say anything about it when we ordered. We paid 21.50 for two disastrous cappuccinos and a piece of inedible strawberry cake. What an impudence! The service was also very unfriendly when I asked why customers weren't told in advance that cash payment is not possible. One thing is clear here: people are only interested in money, not in satisfied guests.

Small café on the banks of the Limmat....what joy!

Unfriendly staff, outrageous prices, cash payment only. A small beer CHF 8.50 😩 Non-alcoholic beer for 6 francs was billed at 8.50.

I attended the coffee shop this afternoon. Just after taking my seat with my husband, the waitress (Christian) behind me tripped and caused milk to spill on my jacket. My husband and other patrons saw the incident and in particular the mess that was caused to my jacket as a result of the spillage. However, the waitress who caused the mishap , chose to blame my jacket for causing her to trip and refused to apologize to me nor to take any responsibility whatsoever for the damage to my jacket. In fact she was downright rude to me and the guests who witnessed the incident were shocked and appalled by her behavior stating that it was inappropriate and unprofessional. Needless to say I will not be returning to the coffee bar and urge any potential customers to similarly stay clear of such place with an awful attitude and even worse service .

The coffee has a really good location and is open on public holidays. But unfortunately that's all positive. From the service to the prices, it's more than questionable. The cellars discuss which tables they should share among themselves. A 2.5dl beer and a chai tea cost 17.- I'm speechless. Only cash payment possible! This has nothing to do with Zurich.

Bad and expensive capuccino ever

Nice location but nothing else. The service was terrible.. both waitresses were impolite and indifferent. We asked for the bill almost 4 times, and they were not responding.. despite the fact that it was not crowded.. They only accept cash and didn't even brought us the receipt.. the waitress calculated the prices on the spot while reading the menu.. I really do not recommend this place at all.. there are lots of other beautiful places to drink your coffee near the river. I also asked for a straw and they brought it after 10'... And they weren't busy at all.. they also brought it with bare hands.. Just terrible..

The Café Wühre is located in the old town, right next to the Hotel Storchen and not far from the town hall, directly on the river and with a view of the Grossmünster. In summer you can sit outside, but it's also worth drinking coffee there in the cold season. Very nice, friendly staff! Very tastefully decorated.

It is located exactly between the Rathausbrücke and Münsterbrücke bridges over the Limmat River. There are terrace seats where you can enjoy the view along the river, and indoor seats with colorful seats. I often stop there after a walk along Lindenhof Hill or along the Limmat River. We had lunch on January 1st, and even though it was winter, the terrace seats were almost full. I see a lot of bad reviews, but I've used them several times and have never had a bad experience. It's a popular store, so it may take some time for your order to be taken and for your item to be delivered, but that's to be expected when you see how crowded it is, so if you're going to use the store, please be aware of that. I think it's fine. Minestrone (15CHF) is delicious with the sourness of the tomatoes. The ham and cheese toast (15CHF) is toasted crispy and fragrant. The total price of 30 CHF (approximately 4,500 yen) may be a normal price in Switzerland, where prices are high, but as a Japanese person, it was a moment when I was keenly aware of the devaluation of the yen. However, this store only accepts cash payments, which is inconvenient for tourists.

A proud 7.50 for dishwashing water with construction foam, they call it cappucino. High prices are normal in Zurich, but the service is also good. Unfortunately that's not the case here, which is a shame.

Poor service. Cappuccino was a left down. It should be served in a nice cup, with a nice topping. It’s a place that has lots of potential but needs lots of improvement.

I find 7.50 francs pretty expensive for a cappuccino. But what they serve at Café Wühre is a watery broth from a fully automatic machine - never again, thank you!
