For me the best sushi place in Zurich. A huge culinary delight every time!! In addition to incredibly delicious sushi creations, they have homemade tofu and X other delicacies!

Great Japanese restaurant, maybe the best in Zurich, great food and service. Take the softshell crabs, they are amazing!

The salmon pokeball is super, the udon noodles a bit bland. Karaage is really good and decently priced, the softshell crab karaage is very good but too pricey in my taste. The rolls are nice but nothing exceptional. Would come again.

We both love asian food, and the food here was exceptional. We had the Chicken Karaage along with Salmon and Eel sushi and it's definitely something to rant about. Great service, great atmosphere, simply made for a superb ending to our valentines day 👌

My visit to the Japanese restaurant Yu-An in Zurich was outstanding. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very attentive. What really impressed was the sushi – a true taste experience. Each piece was of the highest quality and freshness. The variety and creative presentation of the dishes exceeded my expectations. Yu-An offered a perfect blend of excellent service and exquisite cuisine, making the evening unforgettable. It was my grandmother's birthday and the kitchen prepared a very nice desert plate for her! Great Japanese food, as always!

Absolute gem of a place! Not a hidden one though - being fully booked on an early weeknight. Reservation recommended, to avoid disappointment, though the seating is generous, and summertime terrace will offer even more more. The staff is super friendly and fun even with a full house to attend to. And the food....the food is soul-healing. My chosen medicine: the chawanmushi, perfect savory gooey yumminess to cry over in happiness, plus eel rolls which are the best sushi for winter nights (prove me wrong) plus one of their mini poke bowls (mini being a metaphor, that was a decent portion in its own) - the mix tuna, salmon, kingfish sashimi, because I have trouble making firm choices. Also helped myself with BFs braised pork belly, which I even forgot to take a picture of, I just went into a trance. Yes, I could barely move after the fact, but I am strong and independent so I also had dessert. Reader, they have mochi ice cream. Oh, and ume spritzers and other umeshu based potions. You will leave happy and surely return. If you don't, more seats for me.

In my opinion the best Japanese restaurant in Zurich. Friendly service, quick service and excellent food. It's priced higher, but it was worth spending a little more for the great food.

Excellent Japanese dining experience I had the pleasure of visiting this Japanese restaurant and I absolutely love it. The authenticity of the dishes took me on a culinary journey to Japan. The sushi selection was fresh and artfully presented, and the flavors of the various dishes were simply stunning. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and they were able to help me competently with any questions about the food and drinks. The cozy atmosphere and the attractive interior also contributed to an all-round pleasant experience. Also particularly noteworthy is the quality of the ingredients used in each dish. It was clearly noticeable that a lot of emphasis is placed on freshness and traditional preparation. Overall, my visit to this Japanese restaurant was an unforgettable experience and I can fully recommend it. I look forward to coming back soon to try more delicacies.

Great place for authentic yet innovative Japanese food. Most of the sushi is presented in a very unique way (see photo) and even though the dishes are rather pricey, I’d say they’re totally worth it. Recommend this place!

Visiting Yu-An on a Tuesday night turned out to be an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the cozy and serenely decorated ambiance enveloped us in a sense of tranquility and elegance. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was, undoubtedly, the highlight of the evening. Both a visual and gastronomic delight. We had the Volcano roll, the fried salmon tartar roll, the softshell crab karaage and the blumenkohl karaage. For dessert mochis and shots of Yuzusu. It's a place we would definitely love to return to and would highly recommend to any lover of Japanese cuisine.

I ordered northern ramen today. Lunch with salad. The ramen was delicious with soba, green onions, wakame, and bean sprouts. The flavored eggs were very good. Unfortunately, the soup was made from dashi stock. Msg taste was too strong. 3/5 stars

Yu-An is the best Japanese restaurant in Zurich for our taste. It is totally authentic (for people who have been to Japan before), has incredibly fine sushi, a large selection, top service and really top quality! We can only warmly recommend it, it is always a highlight!

Very good and fresh sushi. For me the best in Zurich!! I asked the boss if we could have a platter for 2 people for 100.00 and he gave us a great platter with lots of different things on it - all very tasty. Anyone who likes to be surprised. If you want, I recommend such a surprise record.

One of the most authentic Japanese in Zurich. Excellent selection and quality and very friendy staff. Very fresh fish. Was surprised by the extensive and unusual cocktail menu with japanese sake, plum wine and whiskey.

The service was outright DEPLORABLE for a Wed evening! It was absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get our order in since no one wanted to come over to our table to take it. I tried FLAGGING DOWN a sever many times but it seemed like they just didn’t want to bother at all! The food was absolutely below average compared to the other mediocre Japanese establishments I’ve been to. The starter was bland. The dragon roll wasn’t anything special. The matcha dessert was alright. The drink itself wasn’t tasty. We just couldn’t get past the horrible service and just wanted to GET OUT. It’s sad because my husband recommended this place but he was APPALLED with my feedback and review. We will never be coming back nor shall we be recommending this place.

Small but nice! The absolute insider tip. Enjoyed an evening here for two. Everything was great, food, service, ambience. We will come here to eat again. The garden/terrace or indoors are absolutely cozy and a pleasure.

The avoca /cucumber roll was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and top notch. We sat outside in a covered patio in the rain. It was great. Being from Californis, this was memorable.

Great sushi, possibly the best I have tried in Zurich so far. The choice of nigiri is quite limited and I hope it will be extended in the future to include at least saba and tamago nigiri, but what they serve is very well prepared and the ingredients are of higher quality than other sushi places I tried. Fast, friendly service and you can order online in advance. What a great little gem!

Nice and fresh food. We had the mix plater sushi and sashimi, loved the tofu with kimchi and the Poke Kobore crunch rolls (tasty as well). We enjoyed our time there!

Very cozy restaurant, food & service was great!

A very busy Saturday night, short of staff but they were friendly, except one Asian who did not want to serve me somehow. Foods were slow, some were good, some were ok, for sushi my kids said Negishi is better...one adult three kids we spent 250fr, which is quite a lot, def one of the most expensive sushi that I have and it was not a fancy restaurant. It is hard to find good sushi restaurant in Zurich I guess after a few attempts. I'm fine paying high price but at least good sushi I would expect.

We wanted to have lunch at Yu-An with the “Essen Gehn” voucher booklet. We called and said we wanted to use the voucher. We were told this was not a problem. When we arrived we were then told that there would only be a 10CHF discount over lunch. When we then explained that the booklet explicitly mentioned the bento boxes for lunch, we were told that we should order 2 starters and then get one of 2 bento boxes for free. So we ordered 2 starters and 2 bento boxes. When the starters came, we were then informed that only 20CHF would be deducted from one box. We then left because it wasn't agreed upon. It's a shame that communication doesn't work at all and you're constantly being given different information.

Without hesitation, Yu An restaurant is my favorite. The presentation of the sushi is as beautiful as its delicious flavors. Impeccable quality and service.

We just had a quick lunch. Unfortunately I have no picture but I ordered Yakiniku bento and I got small sashimi, ice burg salad, tekka maki, yakiniku and rice again … The yakiniku was thin sliced beef and it was really salty. I wonder they didn’t have anything to put so that they put tekkamaki. It was just embarrassing to bring my clients as I introduced them as a nice Japanese restaurant.. ( it was before) I hope they get better in future!

Went there for lunch and had reserved in advance in the garden. Everything went well with the reservation. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Food also came quickly even though there were a lot of people on the garden terrace. Food was also good but not wow. Solid and good sushi but nothing unique. Overall a good experience.

Very tasty food and friendly staff

First we ordered a tempura shrimp as a starter and it tasted very nice with a crispy outer shell. Then the main dishes were ramen and a weekly special bento box with fish. The bento box and ramen included either a free salad or miso soup, we got one of each. The ramen had a big portion of pork with seaweed, half an egg and bean sprouts. Very tasty and quite similar to authentic Japanese ramen. The bento box was divided into 4 parts: salad, sushi, sashimi and fish. Each of them were good, but not extraordinary. Overall definitely an amazing lunch/dinner spot, the staff is quite friendly and the food is tasty. The price is average for Zurich as well.

The Yu-an restaurant in Zurich not only offers a wide selection of Japanese specialties, but also extremely friendly service. The food is very fine and is beautifully served. I was impressed by the quality and variety of the dishes. However, I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is always busy. I was pleasantly surprised that not only was there sushi, but there were also many other foods to choose from. Prices are average for Zurich and reasonable for the quality of the food. The only minor criticism I have is that the restaurant can be a bit noisy. However, it is still a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I can definitely recommend Yu-an Restaurant and look forward to returning soon.

One if not the best places for japanese food ij zurich. ooki Izakaya is good for ramen and curry, while here its good for sushi. Wish they had more vegetarian options that were as rich in presentation and ingredients as the meat ones. The special roll cake they had was Amazing.

Absolute top location in Zurich. The food tastes fantastic and feels authentically Japanese. The service staff is very friendly and on the ball. Only the ambience could be a little quieter. It is usually very crowded and therefore loud, so normal conversations are rather difficult. Nevertheless, I am very happy to make a recommendation.

What an amazing experience. After years of looking for a good, local, Sushi restaurant with excellent service and a team that really focuses on taking care of the customer experience, Yu-An wins the award. Been in nearly every Sushi restaurant in Zurich for the last 27 years and this is the best one so far… not overly expensive and brilliant food… but service is the king! :)

Really big cinema at lunchtime. Super fast service. The food is high quality and extremely tasty. We were so pleasantly surprised that we ate here for the second time. Attention: It is always quite full and the tables are very close to each other, which makes it impossible to talk discreetly because the person sitting next to you can overhear.

Japanese restaurant near Stauffacher. It should be positively mentioned that the restaurant also has vegan and vegetarian alternatives such as vegan sushi on the menu. And they taste really good. Unfortunately there is no open beer on offer, but imported from Japan (not really necessary). If the weather is good you can also sit outside.

Came here for quick lunch and we were lucky to have a table without any reservation. I ordered a bento box with Yakiniku (grilled Meat) which came with rice, miso soup, rolls, sashimi and salad. It was good for the price. And would return to have dinner to check out their other menu.

Amazing place with delicious food. And, the service is great (super friendly and very attentive, but not pushy, just perfect). Definitely going here in the future! :-)) I recommend to start with the the tuna (cold dish) and the fried cauliflower (warm fish), or a mixed dish (for the first visit :-). Enjoy!
