Tip top. Top old school service! The long-time employees as well as the newer ones are great. The selection of dishes is classic and the quality is good. As far as I know, the Kropf has belonged to the same owners as thezeughaudkeller for a long time, but both have fortunately retained their unique identities.

Beautiful interior, professional service, amazing food. The restaurant looks like a museum. They were fully booked, but we came early and don’t need a long time so they fixed us for a beautiful table. I ordered blood and liver sausage, something I usually won’t order. They were so delicious. I’ve never had better liver before. I would highly recommend it if you don’t mind eating blood and liver. It was a short and sweet dinner. I would definitely come back again whenever I’m in Zurich.

Very nice and cozy and traditional restaurant right next to the armory cellar. Nice selection of draft beers and food. The Zürigeschnetzelte with Rösti was quite large, so it is also recommended for hungry people. Unfortunately, some of the meat was a bit gristly.

Beautiful 19th century artistic decoration of the walls, excellent choice of food, especially Swiss specialities, fabulous choice of dessert, one of the best chocolate mousse in Switzerland, excellent well priced wine selection. I dined in at lunch for my birthday as a single guest, since I was working in Zurich that day. The food was very good, with excellent portion size, and the service was superb; the server was very helpful with regard to food allergies and other questions I had. Attentive and prompt, without being overbearing.

Very nice location. Nice personel. I had Wienerschnitzel, which according to my taste could have come with more fries. Colleague ordered Zürigschnätzlets. This could have used more flavor. Rather a lot of mushrooms compared to the meat. Well located, near Paradeplatz.

We chose the Kropf restaurant for our Christmas team lunch. The telephone reservation was very friendly. The restaurant was fully booked to capacity over lunch. Nevertheless, we received very friendly and prompt service. The dishes were delivered quickly and were of good quality. Here the service and the cuisine are well coordinated. Gladly again 👍🏼

Great food, great wine, everything was great. Except for the coffee. Since it is an important point for me and actually the "crowning finale" of an evening, it is a shame that such great places rely on fully automatic coffee. I'd rather do without then.

The three of us stayed here on the recommendation of a friend. We were probably just unlucky, but our table was in a drafty passageway, the service was very slow and inattentive and the food was not at all convincing. Dry fresh entrecote, venison pepper whose sauce already had a skin on it because it had been under the salamander for so long and liver with over-salted and dry rösti. Unfortunately, this actually tasted more like an iron pan than actually hash browns. What a shame for the otherwise great location!

The only problem from my point of view is the food: Even as a traditional restaurant, "the kitchen" (from our perspective and our experience) does not correspond to what I expect in this beautiful restaurant - a shame for the lovely and friendly service from your employees!

Everything is absolutely delicious, from the pork ham to the broccoli bouquet, including the vegetarian vol-au-vent… Incredible!!!….

The staff is extremely accommodating. So after a sumptuous, fine meal I was allowed to eat half a portion of pumpkin cream soup. Tiptop. :-))) What I found very unfortunate, however, is that the management apparently didn't like the waitress's decision to bring me half a portion of soup so much that the waitress was seriously beaten up because of half a portion of soup. This is not how you treat staff. This is a complete failure of leadership and absolutely ridiculous. I'll think twice about going into the goitre again.

Top friendly, very personal, professional service! Game, saddle of venison was impeccably fine, only boiled beef, boiled meat was too dry. The wine and the ambience are fantastic. We will be back!

They really know how to cook their meat! As a local expat, I know I’m not a huge fan of Swiss food in general. But this place has a lot to offer. The fall hunting season special offers different game meat, and each prepared to perfection. Juicy and tender. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try true traditional Swiss food.

“Great culinary experience” or “impressive design of the rooms” cannot express the joy we felt during our visit to “Zum Kropf”. We enjoyed the ambience, excellent and entertaining service and the perfection of Zurich Geschnetzeltes and Cordon Bleu. In any case, the price-performance ratio is right, even if the prices in the upscale restaurants in Zurich are different compared to the average restaurants in Germany. In any case, I enjoyed every bite, as did my companion. We even forgot to take a photo of our beautifully and lovingly prepared dish about this wonderful meal. Many thanks to the “Zum Kropf” for this excellent time. Therefore 6 stars! Even if it's not possible on Google.

Enjoyed dinner on a Friday. The restaurant was well occupied. All of my special requests were taken into account. For Zurich standards, the price/performance ratio was okay. Will come back.

Traditional restaurant with am interesting decor. Perfect for trying out some Swiss cuisine like Cordon Bleu or Zuricher Geschnetzeltes.

It's my first time trying some traditional zurich cuisine and i wasn't amazed at all. I tried pork sausage, veal steak and some Rosti, taste is not bad but very ordinary. Rosti is very much like hashbrown actually. Price is quite expensive too. Not recommended if you are coming from Eastern part of Asia.

Tourist trap! We came for the beautiful venue. We already knew that the food is mediocre and overpriced. BUT were directed to a boring terrace. Value for money = no!

Best place for Zurich cuisine. Recommend to enjoy your summer dinner at the terrace.

Pan-fried sliced veal and mushrooms in a creamy white wine sauce, served with homemade Rösti, Classic Cordon Bleu, Beefsteak Tatar, Lamb's lettuce with eggs and bacon, Homemade Apple Strudel served with warm vanilla sauce and Homemade specialty, apple fritters rolled in cinnamon and sugar, served with warm vanilla sauce. The veal and mushroom in creamy white sauce was a winner for me, the cordon bleu was also pretty decent. Between the Apple strudel and the fritters, it’s the latter that warms my heart.

In the center of the city, in a place resembling an art gallery and under the care of Niko (Niyazi). We enjoyed the sups (soups). You can taste more delicious Original Winerschnitzel in Vienna. I liked the draft beers. Swiss coffee is intensely liqueury, enough to get you drunk :). For dessert, I found the Apfel strudel and especially the strawberries that came with it very delicious.

Amazing food and amazing service. Nico was very kind and did a perfect job. The manger sat us at a beautiful table. We sat on the terrace and it was a beautiful night, but the main hall siding room looks equally stunning. I had cordon blu and we split the tomato mozzarella appetizer. Everything was wonderful! 10/10 I definitely recommend coming here ❤️

We were looking for some authentic Swiss cuisine on the first day in Zurich and found this inviting restaurant! Their rosti was one of the best we’ve had, and the Zurcher Geschnetzeltes was pristine! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some Swiss food!

The walk to the restaurant already shows that the "hidden" streets of Zurich have a lot to offer. The restaurant impresses with its baroque ambience with dignified furnishings and the paintings on the ceiling. The food is fresh, tasty and expertly cooked. For me it was an experience and I would love to come back and enjoy a traditional Zurich meal.

If you’re looking for a traditional Swiss meal in a unique and somewhat upscale location, then this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our meal here. They set us off to the side so we were in our own little nook. Not sure if this was for our benefit or theirs (we had three kids in tow), but regardless it was perfect. The food was great and had big portions. The service was quick and friendly. Would go here again should we ever make our way back. Try the cordon bleu or the roast beef and if it’s Spargelzeit, gotta get the Sparg’!

Courteous service and hearty food. The Leberli with Rösti met my expectations, the Rösti was golden brown and crispy, the Leberli was creamy and aromatic. Likewise the green salad with egg: fresh. We were a larger group of about eight people in a separate "compartment", unfortunately without the beautiful ceiling paintings, but with a little more peace and quiet. Everyone really enjoyed the gastronomy. Early reservation required.

We ended up in Zurich again with a group of 8 from the countryside at the Kropf exit. The food was excellent and the service was great. The welcome from Marisa was very warm and the two waiters Alex and Ricardo gave us an atmospheric and fine evening. Thank you for this lovely evening.
