On Saturday I was at the Gasthof zum Schützen for the first but certainly not the last time. From the first moment I felt comfortable. The service was great, the staff were very nice and attentive and special requests were fulfilled without any problems. The food was a dream, the price/performance was absolutely right and the dessert... simply heavenly. This inn is definitely recommended!

Really delicious food and something for everyone (including vegetarians and vegans). The service was very friendly and accommodating. Fast food delivery and serving. We even got free refills of the side dishes. Rolls were crispy and we got them wrapped for free.

Very good cuisine. Friendly service. Smoking lounge in the basement with a stylish bar. Jazz from September to March. Excellent!

A restaurant of the old good class! Here the guest is REALLY king! A maxim that only a few restaurateurs take to heart these days. Culinary honest and good, the wine list is definitely one of the best in the canton of Aargau. Great gems at unbeatable prices. The innkeeper personally led us into his wine treasury. We are excited.

The young hostess, wearing a pink jacket, greeted the table neighbors left and right. She didn't even make eye contact with us. I think we didn't look "rich" enough or "Swiss" enough. I can't think of another reason, we couldn't be overlooked and there weren't many tables occupied yet.

Already at the reception you can feel the passion and spirit that is lived in this restaurant. I always enjoy eating at Schützen. It is cooked with love and it always tastes delicious. The service is very nice and I feel very comfortable every time. The landlord is interested in how it tasted and I would have even gotten more morel sauce. Price performance is right!

We have been to Schützen several times and usually the food and service is excellent. Unfortunately not yesterday. Soup for starters was ok. Unfortunately, the wine only came after the starter, which is a shame when you go to the Schützen to toast to something. We ordered the city fillet medium, unfortunately it came bleu. We then waited in front of our side dishes and the second time the city fillet rare came and since we didn't feel like waiting again, we accepted it.

We can only recommend the game menu from the restaurant - extremely tasty with delicious side dishes. The autumnal table decorations also fit the theme. The service was very nice and professional. We'd love to come by again.

Business meeting in Schützen, Monday, June 3rd, 6:00 p.m. Very friendly service (female apprentice in her 3rd year), communicative and humorous! As always, the food at Schützen was excellent. Schützen classic “Stadtfilet”, Angus beef fillet in green pepper sauce with rice is simply the real burner! The three of us were completely satisfied and happy and...of course we'll be back!

We ate there one evening. Great place for Aarau. The center of the old town is very good. However, we did not like the restaurants in which we ate. For the same price as in the old town, Zum Schützen serves abundant and delicious quality cuisine. Do not hesitate !

Food is always great! Service is sometimes overloaded during busy times, but they make a lot of effort. The ambience is always beautifully coordinated and decorated. When it's busy, it can get very loud in the restaurant despite there being many rooms (with children, families, etc.). Having people with hearing impairments at the table can be problematic for them. However, all in all a highly recommended restaurant! There are enough parking spaces available directly opposite the restaurant. Unfortunately a bit far from the city center and the main train station.

The Schützen still shines as an excellent restaurant.

We, a group of 10 sedate but not easy-care gentlemen, spent a fondue chinoise evening. The service was pleasant, attentive and courteous. The quality of the meat was very good. We will be happy to come back.
