The T-bone steak was overly cooked and tasteless. We would not eat there again unfortunately. Very expensive too for the little it offers.

This was a great find close to our hotel. It’s a great upscale Swiss restaurant with a focus on cheese. We enjoyed the hot bread with cheese and salami with nuts as an appetizer. Then we had the mozzarella salad and parsnip soup to start. Our entries were delicious. We had the tomahawk steak and fish. Couscous as the side. Great meal! Good attentive service.

We celebrated a friend's bachelorette party in the city cheese dairy (or dinner, bookable as a "bridal show"). We arrived quite tipsy, but the hosts were very patient with us. Nicola Operations Manager showed us how to mix a cocktail and Nicola Chef prepared a delicious 3-course meal with us. Despite our loud, lively and obviously drunk state, the two Nicolas remained professional, explained everything to us calmly and had fun despite the work. I visited the city cheese dairy in Zurich as part of a COOKING DINNER WORKSHOP IN WHICH ALL HOSTS ARE ALSO GUESTS. What was missing, what could be better: Many cooking utensils were missing from our workshop. It was always organized quickly when you spoke to one of the employees, but the workshop seemed a bit misunderstood. Even if it's not a cooking course, but rather cooking with friends, I think it would be great if, for example, the various ingredients or kitchen appliances were briefly explained during the aperitif. One or two tips would also be helpful while cooking and it would be educational. It might also be nice if the table was set by professionals and you didn't have to set the table yourself.

Disappointed. My husband and I haven't been back (home) to Zürich in 3 years and the one thing we have missed is cheese. We were so looking forward to Stadtkäserei, but honestly, it was one of the worst expriences we've had in the last two weeks. The Food: The good - Capuns, the cocktail The ok- Cordon bleu (edited because I added chicken by accident) The bad- everything else we ordered. I had the pilz ravioli. There was almost no filling. The butternut squash (kürbis) was not cooked!!!! This is not a vegetable you can eat raw or blanched. There was too much celery and not enough onions. The green leaves in it (I think it was char) was ok. The portions were all wrong. It was a vegan dish, which I did not realize until it was served. Listen, vegan doesn't mean it has to be tasteless and this meal (32CHF) was tasteless and inedible. I also had the onion soup. The cheese puff pastry was nice, but the soup was waaay too sweet and the puff pastry was not enough to offset the sweetness. It was also almost inedible. But hey, if you like sweet onion soup, this is the place for you. The Service: terrible, just terrible. I'm not sure why (and I doubt our table was the 'blind' one) but we kept being ignored throughout the entire dining experience. Almost 10 minutes for the menus? That's pushing it even by Swiss standards. No offer for dessert after almost 20 minutes. We just gave up and paid the moment we got their attention.
