An absolute hidden gem! My recent dining experience at Gotthard-Mätteli was nothing short of stunning. Situated by a picturesque river, the location creates a beautiful ambiance. The interior exudes elegance with a touch of traditional Swiss charm. The menu was a culinary journey through Switzerland. From the refined fondues to the carefully prepared raclette, each dish oozed authenticity and flavor. The chef here truly understands the art of perfecting Swiss cuisine. The staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more special. They offered expert recommendations and ensured we felt very welcome. And let's not forget the view! The riverside setting and proximity to the mountains provided a scenic backdrop for our dinner. Whether you're looking to savor local delicacies or enjoy a romantic evening, Gotthard-Mätteli has it all. It's a place where you not only relish fantastic food but also create unforgettable memories. This restaurant is a must-visit for foodies and travelers seeking to savor the taste of Switzerland.

The place is easy to reach from Andermatt in just a few minutes, is designated as a camper place and is extremely inexpensive. We had a great chat with Andreas and were able to pick up fresh bread and warm and cross breakfast rolls. Risk of repetition 200%! An absolute recommendation from me!

I had a great time here. The owners are warm and kind, breakfast is abundant, the pizzas are great, the single room is big, and the guesthouse is full of character. Location is great too - the free shuttle (snow bus) stops just across, and the Hospental train station is a good 7-minute walk (although the walk from the station to the guesthouse has a bit of an uphill climb). I was ok walking with my backpack while dragging a snowboard bag. I would stay here again!

Rientrando a casa dl nostro mini tour in moto e prima di affrontare il passo del San Gottardo avvolto nella nebbia, ci siamo fermati a bere qualcosa in questo posto veramente carino e accogliente, ne vale sempre la pena

Lange Wartezeiten, das Essen ist fast ungeniessbar und das angepriesene Gulasch kann man getrost vergessen.Das Personal ist teilweise unfreundlich und schon bei wenigen Gästen überfordert.Vermutlich ist jedes andere Restaurant in Hospental und Andermatt die bessere Wahl.
