Romantic fine dining in a sophisticated ambience, we were in the guild room. Entrecote with Cafe de Paris is highly recommended. Service great, friendly and attentive, wine glass is always refilled.

Courteous and warm service as well as excellent food and excellent wines. The only point of criticism: the tables are a little too close to each other, so you sometimes hear more of the conversations at the neighboring table than you would like.

This is a wonderful restaurant all year round but the ambience at Christmastime is magical. The service is always impeccable. The only reason I am giving the classic menu 4 stars is because it can be on the heavy side. You have to know there will be butter, cream, gluten, and animal protein in most of the dishes. If that's ok with you on a special occassion, then you are in for a treat. The Aklin is a Swiss tradition for all the right reasons.

The food is good, the service is ok and the location is wonderful. However paying 56 CHF for 7dl of sparkling water is just pure non sense and it almost fools customers. Over any value, just simply inflated. I don't recall paying that much for water neither in 1, 2 or 3 Michelin stars restaurants. I don't get the point and it is unfortunately a reason for me to don't return in this place. I usually never leave negative reviews, I'm not a troll or a hater but I really feel that someone played with my money here. Sorry.

I have been in Aklin several occasions for work dinners, food was never really good, but I excused due to larger groups. Yesterday, dinner for 4, and it was one of the worst dinners. I took cordon bleu and it was mediocre to be generous, but more close to totally pathetic. Meat was not specially tender, crush was pff, veggies, one of each, which doesn’t make for a nice accompaniment. Pomes frites were very good and frozen. Service was again very mediocre, they took my jacket from my seat without consent, full of my personal belongings, keys, mobile, purse. I know nothing happens in Switzerland, but excuse me, a bit of politeness. I won’t be back.

Wir waren in der Weihnachtszeit zum ersten Mal mit einem befreundeten Pärchen im Aklin in Zug. Dabei haben wir einen rundherum perfekten Abend mit ausgezeichneten Service und kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten erlebt.Den ersten Hammer erlebten wir bereits bei Betreten des Restaurants. Die Weihnachtsdekoration war einfach atemberaubend. Eigentlich steh ich nicht auf diesen XMAS-Kitsch aber dieser Overkill war mega.Als Vorspeise wählte ich eine Green Curry Soup, während meine Frau den Hummersalat bestellte. Beide Gerichte waren sehr gut abgeschmeckt! Zum Hauptgericht gab es für mich Zuger (!) Kalbsgeschnätzelte. Auch hier gab es überhaupt nichts auszusetzen. Super zartes Fleisch, knackiges Gemüse und einen leckeren Rösti. Die Gänseleber meiner Frau war gleichermaßen gut – außerdem konnte sie die Kalbszunge probieren, die unser Bekannter wählte und weiß nun, was sie beim nächsten Besuch um Aklin bestellen wird.Der Hauschampagner ist rund und fruchtig und der Elsässische Riesling, den wir auf Empfehlung der Bedienung getrunken haben, passte perfekt zu jedem unserer Gänge. Mit ca. 270 CHF pro Pärchen gehört das Aklin sicherlich zur gehobenen Gastronomie, ist aber jeden Rappen wert.
