Nice restaurant and good little typical offer, well presented from the outside. We got the smallest table because the boss said everything was reserved - even though half the restaurant remained empty until 9:15 p.m Cuisine: my entrecote was completely fried (ordered saignant). After making excuses, the boss brought me a new one, which was unfortunately tough and 3/4 fried again. Vegetables were raw and had a strange taste. Bratwurst with Rösti (a little greasy) was okay. It's a shame, the food quality and price didn't convince us.

I tried the rösti with bacon (speck). It was delicious, surpassing my expectations. I am confused as to why the rating is so low. The service is great, the atmosphere too and everyone seems to be enjoying their food.

The food was definitely from the freezer and i do think not even home made. The pie was half warm half frozen (microwaved) and then best thing they where out of cheese for the Fondue because of the Carnaval also the cherry pie was not available. Very weird. Also they have only one jazz song playing

I observed the owner be rude to some people. Strange behavior for someone in the midst of a busy area. The food was average but certainly didn’t meet expectations. The waitress was very kind and the ambiance was lovely/cozy.

Typical Swiss dinner based on raclette, potatoes, onions and cucumbers, all accompanied by a good red wine. The truly typical can entirely covered in wood with a stove in the center, deer antlers hanging on the walls. Friendliness and hospitality. Even though it is in the center of Lucerne, it feels like being in a cabin on the top of a mountain. The price....let's talk about it, I would say that 50 euros each for two onions, a potato and some cheese I find it excessive. Especially the 60 euros for a bottle of primitivo. But we know Switzerland is expensive

Service and atmosphere were spectacular. Food was authentic but not my style/taste.

Had dinner here today. The entrecote was ok, as were the fries. The hash browns were bad, with no flavor except for preservatives. I'm sure this wasn't freshly made on site, but came from the catering packaging! There's nothing easier than making hash brown potatoes. It should also be crispy, even if it is over-baked. What a shame! The service and the ambience are absolutely perfect, very pleasant. So I never eat hash browns here anymore.

Very cheeky service and and rude. Food is nothing special. Prices are expensive in comparison. Not recommendable. The first thing we said when we asked for water was that you won't be served because two colleagues are missing. In every restaurant in Switzerland you are served without discussion!!! WE HAD TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 5CHF BECAUSE WE DIDN'T WANT TO EAT TOGETHER AND REQUESTED SEPARATE PORTIONS, I've never had the cheek to pay more in Zurich for this reason. Fondue was never an issue. We order fondue and my colleague wanted to share it with his girlfriend, we had to justify to the waiter why and why and also cheekily. (The waiter was an older man with curly hair who had no idea how to serve customers) Water is finally served and is forcefully slammed onto the table for no reason. He tells us why we don't drink wine... here too we had to justify ourselves, I don't know why!!!! We are served. The waiter continues to slam the things on the table like a farmer who needs to be taught manners. A colleague asks the waitress for a sauce for her Kordonbleu, and the other waiter from behind answers without even being addressed. Do you want ketchup or mustard? Firstly she asked for a sauce and secondly he wasn't spoken to. Here too he showed his bad manners... At the end we are asked again why we didn't want to eat the fondue together - he would never have heard of such a thing. Here too we had to justify ourselves. Food was nothing special, I've eaten in better restaurants and I won't recommend it.

The Alpchalet restaurant is rather small, but has a very nice interior and a great selection of food.

Food 5 service 5 atmosphere 5 prices 3 Delicious food. Simple dishes with excellent ingredients, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was fast, welcoming, helpful and spoke many languages. The only downside is the prices; even for the high quality it was expensive. Highly recommended if you are only in Switzerland for one evening and want to get the Alpine feeling.

So good we ate here twice! Food and service was excellent. The young woman who served us both times seemed to run the entire front-of the restaurant efficiently and all by herself. Wine list is limited but pairs nicely with everything. Such a nice little restaurant vibe and away from the crowds/hustle from everyone else who clamors to sit on the water. Recommend.

Bad, inattentive service. Guests next door who arrived later were served first and already had their aperitif, while we couldn't even place our drink order. Such quality of service at these prices leaves a lot to be desired. We got up and left...

Wonderful and relaxing lunch in an inviting and warm atmosphere. Service was excellent (remember in Europe - they will not bug you and keep asking if everything is alright unless you get their attention). The food was good and well prepared. I have recommended this place to my friends.

This is such a charming restaurant. The server was very welcoming and kind. We came for last min fondue and Rosti before we leave Switzerland and they didn't disappoint. Very good food. Cute swiss decoration.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. The hash browns had too much oil (almost floating in it) and could have been fried crispier. A pity.

In the historic center of Lucerne, finally a place that serves typical dishes even in August. Delicious fondue and raclette. Young and discreet staff. Correct value for money. Highly recommended

I ordered a pancake with egg and bacon. Delicious, super hot. Prices quite high. When it comes to service, it's bad. We waited about 15 minutes to place the order with 20% capacity. The meals were prepared quite quickly. We also waited a long time to pay, the waitress "forgot".

Best Rosti ever!! Resturant is also so beautiful inside and lovely staff. One of the best places we had dinner for our Europe trip.

DISGUSTING NOT HOMEMADE AND SO EXPENSIVE for the quality even at for Swiss price. Only one waitress for all tables (poor her), only two choice of beers (poor me) but it could be ok if it is homemade like it’s indicated on the menu. Beef tartare (29- on the menu but 31- when you pay the bill) was so disgusting, I think there was more tomatoes than beef meat and so many spices I guess to cover the taste of bad quality food. Toast : not regular bread, you can do it better yourself. French fries…. Frozen « homemade » French fries for expensive price of 13.5- but according to waitress it’s « regular price in Switzerland » … no kidding ! I don’t recommend this « restaurant », run it’s a trap! And the morning after I am sick …. Thank you so much !

The prices are excessive compared to the quality. The pork cordon bleu was probably homemade, but not in the Alpchalet kitchen, but purchased ready-made from a catering supplier. The Cordon Bleu is offered on the homepage menu at Fr. 29.50. But it costs Fr. 37.50 (purchase value approx. Fr. 4.50.) Pasta with sliced ​​chicken in a lemon sauce for just under Fr. 40.00 with 6! small pieces of meat. You won't find sliced ​​veal liver like on the homepage menu here. The restaurant is not recommended.

Service not rushed, and we waited 40 minutes to receive our half-and-half fondue, overpriced for the quality. We spent almost 2 hours for an aperitif and a meal. We will not come back unfortunately for the restaurant.

For me it's a classic tourist trap and it looks like it. Prices are rather high compared to other restaurants for what is on offer. Wienerschnitzel was ok, but more of a cookie, fries were too salty. Service was at least friendly. I would rather recommend La Terazza which is next door. The price/performance ratio is right there.

We waited 1 hour for the food. We weren't even asked if everything was okay. We didn't even have enough bread and it took a long time for it to arrive... By then the founde was cold.

The waiter was very rude (the gentleman with the curly gray hair), fondue didn't taste like good cheese, pumpkin soup didn't taste natural, you had the impression you were eating canned soup. Completely dissatisfied!!!!

I was looking for a cozy, down-to-earth restaurant in Lucerne for a customer event. Service was friendly and competent, the food was on the table at about the same time, prices were okay, quality and quantity were good to very good. My customers and I were very satisfied with the overall package. It was ordered individually for 10 people: salads, meat, fondue. We would be happy to come back for a cozy evening when the opportunity arises.

Very well finished place but which has a very touristy flavour. You can taste almost all Swiss specialties such as cordon bleu, rosti and fondue. Prices are slightly lower than the other places but still within the Swiss average (cordon bleu around €40, fondue around €35). I recommend it if you want to taste a bit of Switzerland without too many pretensions

We really liked it. Friendly service and good quality food. Try the fondue. The only flaw is that it was not served to us with crunchy bread but with normal bread, the salad and veal sausage were excellent. This restaurant has proven to apply prices that are more calibrated than the unjustified and overpriced national average.

We came into the restaurant to have a quick snack of cheese fondue (priced at $35). We had a party of 4, and made it clear we wanted a single order. About 45 minutes later, a fairly large pot comes to our table. There was no way 4 people could have ever finished it. We received our check later to realize they charged us for 4 times $35. Biggest scam I’ve experienced at a restaurant. Do not recommend!

A decent service but charging for hot water (in a country where water costs little and is in abundance) 5chf then a cordon bleu 38 balls close to a supermarket cordon..... leaves something to be desired! I remain hungry

I had a Cesar salad for 29.- the portion was small and the "chicken strips" if you want to call them that, since they were hardly bigger than the bread croutons, were so few that they were almost not worth mentioning as an ingredient on the menu . Countless onion rings on the salad and taste like a ready-made salad from the supermarket. I would actually give one star, but since me and my colleague were each offered a dessert or coffee after we gave feedback on the food, one star wouldn't be fair. However, I cannot recommend the food. In terms of taste, quantity and price.

We had a good dinner. A little expensive, but this is Switzerland/Lucerne. What has really been notable has been the excellent treatment we have received. The waitress was really friendly, so much so that even though they were confused when they brought us one of the dishes, we decided that we would eat it ;)

Movenpick ice creams served without glasses of water. After asking 3 times, a drink served for 3 people!! No towel or smile. At 4 FCH the boule restaurant to avoid because of a tourist trap.

The food was very good and If I could I would give it 5 stars. But the service was not very good. It was obvious the server had forgot to ring in our meal. My mother and I had started to think maybe they needed to take a trip to mount pilatus to get some cows for our streak. I’ve worked in the service industry for 10+ years, and mistakes happen. I am not mad at a simple mistake, but it was unfortunate that after an hour of waiting for a rare steak, the 3 servers did not acknowledge or even apologize. They did not once return to our table to ask how our meal was. I couldn’t get a glass of wine once the steak arrived. Overall, good food; bad service

The good: The restaurant is beautiful inside and very cozy, the staff was nice enough to serve us 30 minutes before close. the bad: The "homemade" soup tasted like Campbell's soup with a little cream. Very watery. Also the staff was fairly unattententive, and this was before official closing time.

As recent guests wanting to savour traditional Swiss cuisine, we tried out this restaurant after arriving in Luzern for the evening. All we can say is: Never again! Staff were indifferent, and the manager outright rude. While it was busy there was no apology for slow service and two lots of people walked out. Quality of the food was 2nd rate for the high price we paid. On finishing our meal, no one acknowledged us leaving or thanked us for our custom so we left feeling extremely disappointed and ripped off (even for Switzerland)! What looked a cosy, inviting restaurant was anything but!

Delicious fondue but: - it is not possible to order dried meat - the small bowl of pickles/onions costs an additional CHF 7.50 - the staff is not very efficient and quite slow - tea is served in a coffee cup, very very small…. Too bad because the frame is super pretty

The fondue was unfortunately a ready mix and has nothing to do with a typical original Swiss fondue. The potatoes tasted bad, as if they had been reheated for the third time. Positive was our complaint was accepted by the boss without complaint. The restaurant seems more appearance than reality.

Atmosphere, ambience and employees were great. There is a deduction for the boss, who behaved impossibly, as well as for the Rösti, which was most likely a ready-made Rösti. The boss wanted to send us to "La Terrazza" first, even though it obviously had enough space and he only had to move two tables apart. Then he sat down at a free round table next door and from there he bossed his employees around all evening and loudly scolded them. At the same time he let them serve him. This behavior seemed unprofessional and very unsympathetic. Unfortunately the Rösti was a parcel Rösti. Because of these two defects, two stars are deducted. It's a shame, because the restaurant could give a lot.

Beautiful place, nice Dec, Swiss cuisine meal on the ground floor, expensive dishes, bottle of wine at 45 fch, 8 fch for a half glass of wine! 7 fch for a small bottle of water, indifferent staff, basement reserved for Italian cuisine.

The fondue and the roesti were super delicious and the staff was friendly and customer oriented. It was quite busy so it took a while to get our order but I definitely recommend the restaurant!

Melted excellent friendly setting. But profiteroles from Picard for dessert are just intolerable. Really a shame to end this good time with such a thing!

I ate outside today. The young ladies are very friendly and accommodating. The boss runs around complaining, nothing is right. Even after moving to the table you will be repositioned. Other guests feel the same way. If someone sits at a free table, they are moved to a smaller table with the excuse that the table is reserved. The boss is unsympathetic, chaotic and unfriendly. (Especially to the staff) You can't enjoy a meal there, even if it was okay. As an employee, I would throw the gun at him.

Too touristy to treat the customer Nice restaurant very well located in a pedestrian street. This is precisely the problem. People line up in front to get a table, and there is no need to build customer loyalty: they are passing tourists. The service is fast and efficient. Our waitress was charming and very friendly. On the other hand, we explained that one of the guests did not eat meat, animal products, eggs or dairy products. No problem, we were told. And here we are in front of a plate of röstis (lard) with vegetables (piece of melted butter on top, or cream). We ended up ordering a salad "without sauce". We were charged for the röstis returned to the kitchen intact. Is it the same if a guest is allergic to peanut oil and they are promised there are no problems? This would have dramatic consequences. Even in peak season, it is not good to treat the customer lightly. If you like local specialties, however, this is a good place.
