You should definitely give a try if you visit Murren. Amazing view with reasonable price for their food and drink. Drinking with this view during winter time is one kf the best moment of my Europe trip. 5-stars!

Dec23--visit to Murren and Alti Metzg was one of the TOPS on my gastronomic experiences there! VERY caring food preparation even though it's very busy and frankly, the BEST cheese fondue I found in Murren! (wow, that's saying alot). Perfect location along the busy skier route (people-watching fun here) with outdoor seating in the sun and food was fresh and appropriate temperature. Very pleasant staff. Highly recommended here.

Café and restaurant in the charming center of Mürren, in the Swiss Alps, accessible only by train or cable car. In winter, the city is transformed and the place becomes busy. Good typical Swiss dishes and a good wine list. Excellent service, very cordial and friendly from the local girls. Fair price for the location.

Mega good ! If you wish you can get a very tasty sandwich. Very pleasant and attentive service, very nice location to linger and absolutely great views. Also recommended by locals.

Restaurant with beautiful view and delicious food

The staff was super polite and very nice. This place feels warm and cozy even if we were sitting outside in the cold. The food was very tasty as well.

If you want to stop and enjoy a moment of respite, with a superb view, and some comforting dishes, this is the perfect place! Welcomed very warmly, we had the game soup followed by a delicious piece of apricot/lemon tart. The restaurant wants to emphasize zero waste as well and is making an effort to put this into practice! There is also a small grocery store.

Lovely little restaurant tucked away in a quiet mountain village. Be sure to sit outside for the amazing view of Jungfraujoch. The Sandwich and the daily soup were both really delicious. Be sure to stop by.

The food was average, view is good but the people are greedy. They charged 3 CHF for tap water and forced to pay a tip. There are better places in the bill so skip it.

We had dinner here our first night in Mürren. Salads were fresh and the pasta was delicious. The apple cake was a nice finish to a delicious meal. Very quaint and comfortable atmosphere befitting this beautiful place.

The museum gravy is fantastic. Friendly and fast. Smoothie was tasty as well!

Delicious food and a lovely view!

Food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We had the pie which was great and a soup! It was really busy when we went, but the waitstaff still managed to get to us on time for our paragliding time.

We went here because of the great reviews. We went for lunch and only got sandwiches and drinks. The sandwiches were good, no complaints. They just weren’t “great”. The view though, and the kindness of the wait staff were a 5/5.

The mushroom cream sauce over toast is amazing! This is a family run business that is so wonderful. I love their food, the atmosphere, and great views. My husband and I visited multiple times and ate almost everything on the menu. Everything is prepared by the incredible chef including the bratwurst!

There's never any space. And noone organises the crowds of people who push in,and push by trying to grab a table ahead of you🙄pretty rubbish experience here I would say

The staff said that the quiche had prawn in it, and i asked to make sure that it was prawns. She said yes and then brought us a prune quiche. When we said that we understood her as prawn, she said "whatever whats the difference," and then left. We also asked for cutlery, which she forgot and got annoyed when we asked for it again. Other than that, the salmon sandwich and hot chocolate were fine.

Ordered zucchini house soup with bread and pasta with tomato sauce. It was amazing and delicious food. The scenery was beautiful and was worth having.

My friends and I had a nice afternoon tea, beers and cake at this cosy shop. It also sells local produce like cheeses, meats, vegetables, pasta and more. Besides all the food and drinks, the view outside is impeccable 🏔️✨

A delicious meal with a gorgeous view. The tomato soup was the best I’ve ever had.

A spontaneous decision took me and my team colleagues to Mürren yesterday afternoon. Since there were no other restaurants open we have decided to try our luck at this one and only place in Mürren of which we knew it might serve some food even though it was called "the old butcher". The outlet was open and yes it had a restaurant service but there was no table available. Instead of telling us that there was no availability, the serving lady explained that we could wait or walk around a bit and she would reserve seats for 8 people for in half an hour. Now, here comes the part that many other restaurant owners can learn from. - do not reject customers - do not tell the customer what the customer already sees (current situation) - give hope and a perspective to your future customer by promising a table for 30 or 60 minutes later. If you practise this you can be sure, you will definitely have this customer not only in 30 minutes but everytime this customer visits your village. And on top of it this customer will recommend your location highly on google maps. I do not even know what I paid for the lunch meal because I was focused on the happiness I got by such a great service. The restaurant was full at all times while we were there and the staff was smiling and friendly permanently. What else can I wish as a customer? Well done "alti metzg" you guys deserve my 5 *!

Very well eaten..! Daily dish: house-made bratwurst with spaetzli...top! Curry soup with glass noodles very delicious! Bresaola/cheese/rucola slices...Tiptop. Fine fruit cake for dessert. And all of this with friendly service...Happy day...

The staff are very friendly and the view is nice. If you come to Mürren, I definitely recommend you go. Be sure to try the latte macchiato and cappuccino. Sandwiches are delicious too

We tried 3 menus: 2 soups and 1 meat plate. It was good. The staffs are friendly and warm, the view was breathtaking. Drop a visit if you’re around and get a table in the terrace.

We had a fruit cake, local mushroom soup, panini, and coffee. Food was delicious especially after a long day of hike. Staff was friendly and cheerful. Outdoor seating has a great view. They also sell local food and beauty products. Cute bistro.

We're not talking about great gastronomy, but the prices are fair for such a well-located place. (Pasta with ham and cheese at 18 chf, pint of beer at 6 chf). The waitresses were very nice!

They serve the best peppermint tea, tomato soup and raclette! My husband and I chanced upon this gem of a place during our honeymoon and truly it didn’t disappoint. Owners are so friendly too! Highly recommended😋

If you weren't in the "alti-metzg", you weren't in Mürren and if you didn't get sausages to grill, you weren't grilling properly. The staff is very warm and very competent. We enjoyed the fresh bread, regional ice cream, and the highly recommended “Chabiswurst”. It's definitely worth a visit. You can also sit comfortably and drink a coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. I could go on raving about it forever and the next time we're in Mürren, we'll definitely visit here again.

A nice little bistro located at one of the most scenic points in Murren. We visited for coffee and cake today and loved the Rhubarb pie they served. The lady who was serving was very nice and was attentive. The pricing is reasonable given the prime location. Although we went only for coffee and a quick bite, they do serve meals here too. Recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Mürren 🇨🇭 Take the cable car up to Mürren for €22 per person. If you are already in Lauterbrunnen, you can and should go “up”. Great little alpine restaurant with homemade delicacies. Meat sausage etc. but also a tart 🥧

Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food and everything was sourced locally so it made our swiss experience genuine and of utmost quality food. Would recommend others to try this restaurant whenever you’re in Murren.

Love this place! We especially like the fresh bread/pastries, local products (cheese/milk/butter, Schwarzmönch beer, produce, etc) and wine cellar. Adds a very welcome element of simple luxury to the village.
