Excellent Neapolitan restaurant

Nice dishes and excellent Neapolitan pizza, even if the size isn't exactly a strong point (the crust is ok, but roll out that dough). The waiter who didn't take notes and boasted of an elephant's memory, forged by decades of experience... got two orders wrong. Better to lower the crest and get rid of pen and paper! 😜. Apart from this we were all satisfied with the dinner and the price also seemed fair. A bit crowded and chaotic place... But we can say that this is a good sign! Well done.

We had dinner in this much appreciated place.... But not for us, the dishes are very expensive!! , compared to the quality, the excessive prices, the pizza cooked well but with a bottom full of tomatoes!! Sorry but we won't be back!!!

Premise. We booked for New Year's Eve, so a fixed menu for the occasion. Really good dishes and the fish feels fresh. A discovery.

Overall very bad experience. They tried to charge us for a tiramisu and expresso which we didn't order. When we highlighted the mistake they said they had confused our bill with another table... Except that same table didn't order neither a pizza or a calzone. Total scam. For the food: essentially not good. Everything was too salty, specially the tomatoes and tomato sauce in the bufalina pizza which was topped with sliced burrata straight out of the fridge.

OPTIMAL Nice, informal and welcoming environment. If you want a little place away from the nightlife of the square this is the ideal place. Finely prepared dishes with a wide choice of fish and meat. Excellent pizza! Nothing is missing. All with very competent and kind staff. You can breathe the Neapolitan atmosphere. Thank you

Neapolitan restaurant in Lugano, we go there when we organize events at the university and it is always available to welcome us even before the official opening for lunch. The pizza is also good, we generally prefer the cuisine which is of a good standard. Prices are at Lugano level, not too expensive

Very nice place. Neapolitan cuisine with pizza. Neapolitans probably wouldn't recognize it as a place with typical Neapolitan cuisine, but taking into account that it is 800km from Naples... it's very good. The pizza could be slightly improved, especially the dough which is a little hard, but all in all it is quite adequate. Very good and plentiful dishes. If we want to find negative notes, we must turn to the furniture and furnishings. Very kitsch and obvious (fishing nets, little boats left and right, life jackets, buoys... the most obvious thing you can find in an Italian restaurant), but we can ignore it since we are here to eat and not to admire the decoration. Another slightly negative point is the prices. A little above the right level (20%), even taking into account the high quality of the food. Ultimately a restaurant worth trying, unfortunately not every day. Last note of merit. Accurate service, very kind and smiling.

Don't you expect anything? SURPRISE!! Business lunch at 1.40pm I enter the restaurant alone convinced that (Swiss times) they will look at me badly AND INSTEAD?? Pampered and spoiled, I was quickly served with a plate of AMAZING paccheri with peperonata!! I am a huge fanatic of pasta dishes and I tell you that this dish made me jump out of my seat! TOO GOOD. I accompanied it with a good glass of wine and a dessert (so much for the midday menu) I ENJOYED!! I am often kindly critical today I just say BRAVI

very beautiful setting and beautiful building on the banks of the river. However, the pizzas and dishes are quite expensive and not very garnished.

The food is good, the dishes all seem to be invited and prepared in a very homely way which in this case is not a criticism. The only flaw is the service, the customer is not observed carefully and therefore it is necessary to continuously call the service to be served.

Excellent Neapolitan cuisine, always fresh fish, pizza that follows Neapolitan traditions, always fresh desserts, excellent service, helpful and friendly waiters. 5 star chef. Romantic setting. Lugano's number 1 venue. Try it to believe it...obviously if you have a good taste. A hug to all the Anima and Core staff.

Worst service in Lugano, waiters are absolutely impolite, rude. The best decision of owner would be to fire the bald guy with beard.... Also, you will inhale mosquito repellent all evening.... (however better than eaten alive by them :)))) The food is medium, you can easily find much better palaces with kind waiters and friendly service, so please look elsewhere.

Good food is sometimes not enough, if the service is BAD with rude responses from the waitresses who treat you as if you were at a diner, after having requested several times to be treated with a minimum of respect, the first courses were brought individually several times everyone ate separately and after having spent a not at all pleasant evening there wasn't even an excuse or the kindness to offer a digestive or something to try to somehow save the dinner. Rudeness in a restaurant is the worst service.

I've been there a couple of times and I was happy with it. The dishes were excellent, the staff were really friendly and nice.

Wonder... there are no words to describe the place, the food, the staff, the cleanliness, the professionalism... the charm... every time I come here I feel happy. I love you!

Beautiful place and perfect food A little bit expensive

Every time I go to Lugano, my husband and I can't help but come and eat here. The food is excellent, the girls who serve and the manager are very kind. We will come back for sure.

The staff makes fun of you by not taking orders and not communicating with each other if customers have needs, so the wait at the table is endless (it doesn't matter if you have booked). Never had a worse experience in Lugano.

I had never been to this place near USI but this first experience was excellent! Prices are definitely not popular for the area (we spent 36 francs each for pizza, iced tea and dessert), but we all had some of the most expensive pizzas/panuozzi, so it's not surprising. My pizza was good, the fried meatballs melted in your mouth and the amount of ricotta in the crust was well balanced so it wasn't cloying. The babamisu is also good, a reinterpretation of the classic tiramisu with a babà well sprinkled with coffee. The service seemed attentive and patient to me: we made some requests which were fulfilled with a smile and professionalism!

Together with a friend we stopped by to grab a quick pizza before going to the cinema immediately afterwards. I'll start by saying that I've already been there twice and so far I've always had a good time. We ordered two pizzas and a water to drink, wanting to save it for later. We were the first customers, they had already placed a little something on the table for us to munch on which I appreciated and asked two different waiters if we didn't also want an aperitif. They seemed surprised and a bit insistent but I told myself I was exaggerating. Upon returning from the bathroom, however, I pass by the waiters who were taking our order, and the man exclaims "Do these people only drink water???". Stunned, I turn and look at them offended. Following the dessert order which we always wanted to avoid to make room for the popcorn, I felt obliged to justify myself on the Cinema issue to the waitress and order an espresso, but I shouldn't have. These things shouldn't happen in restaurants! friendliness is the minimum! There's no point in wishing me a good evening if you say anything to your customers behind your back. I'm sorry but I think I won't go there again, too bad.

The pizza is always excellent. The staff are genuinely Neapolitan (and in Lugano this is no small feat...). Unfortunately they make you pay (CHF 2.50) for the sad little plate that you find on the table when you sit down, with two tiny pieces of cold, clotted pizza. Strange operation to collect money...

The place is very nice. Unfortunately, the food rating is insufficient (the orecchiette were overcooked) and the service also leaves something to be desired (we had a shaky chair and table, no solutions were found and no aperitif was even offered). Sin

It feels like eating in Naples with Neapolitan sympathy. A must try when you are in Lugano.

I didn't like the pizza, it was dry and a little salty, I at least expected it to come with pieces of fresh mozzarella; I couldn't finish the dessert, after a while it became cloying. Pretty fast service and nice atmosphere, but that's not enough.

I called to reserve a table for a couple, intimate. I arrive and they put me right in the corridor, even though the restaurant was still half empty. Seafood really nothing special for the price. Friendly service but little attention to detail.

It was sold out, but while I was waiting for an aperitif, a table became available. Luckily I was able to enjoy an excellent pasta with cherry tomatoes and sea bream.

Takeaway pizzas with a bad surprise. Bottom part, burnt! Highly not recommended!!

Immersed in a southern Italian ambience. Very courteous service and good food. The pizza with porcini mushrooms was okay. Unfortunately rather rubbery. The lemon dessert goes wonderfully. The Primitivo by the glass was also great.

Ordered spaghetti all from gole veraci... it was too salty! According to the restaurant manager's answer... we never salt the vongole when preparing it... but maybe they weren't washed out enough, he said 🤔... and that's it!? ! No apology, no other reparations etc. in the name of the house!? A dirty glass that was only finally replaced after the 3rd report and so my son was finally able to draw water and drink after 10 minutes... Ordered a beer for me that was never brought!! Originally wanted to have Paccheri (pasta) di Mare according to the menu, unfortunately it's no longer available... was the answer! The service was and seemed weak and not prepared... according to the motto "we have to do and that's all"!!! So all I can say is ... price-performance clearly inadequate ... for what we ate the prices were absolutely inappropriate and exorbitant! ...It's clear that we won't be going there again and will certainly never recommend this restaurant Anima e Core (Sele and Heart) to anyone! 🤮🥴 ... definitely avoid 😉👍 A well controlled one

A taste of Campania in the middle of Ticino. Very characteristic with Neapolitan details that make the atmosphere worth enjoying. Courteous, professional staff and delicious food.

We used the take-away service in a complicated period like Covid, all the dishes we brought home were delicious, the staff very kind.

Bad service! They gave us not our order and add some thing to the bill. We have noticed that and they corrected but still be carefull!

Excellent restaurant. The only flaw is that when we called to book, we had specifically asked for a table on the river side and they told us we would have it. When we arrived they said there were only tables on the street side. That said, the food is excellent and the service is good. I would go back.

Pluses: great interior, pretty garden, nice shady place to stay, good dessert (Tiramisu) Minuses: food wasn't tasty at all. Waiters couldn't clearly explain what it'll be in English. Fish was fried in lots of fat and some parts tasted bitter.

Excellent pizza dough. I found some parts of my pizza a little burnt and the bill was high for a pizza and a 0.4 dl beer (CHF 24.-). It deserved 3 stars but I give 4 for the merit of the waiters.

As soon as we arrived they literally SENT US AWAY without even suggesting a minimum wait! The waiters passing by several times did not even pay us a glance!

I'm sorry, there's no point in eating well if everything is seasoned with discourtesy and rudeness. The internal space is very small due to the number of seats it contains and confusion reigns supreme... definitely not to be returned.

First time I come to Lugano, I found this restaurant by accident. I was amazed, I ate very well. Truly amazing pizza. Very kind and friendly waiters. I recommend it to everybody.
