It's a shame that today, September 9th, on a Saturday with a beautiful day, the restaurant/bar closed at 4 or 4.30 pm, furthermore they asked for the collection by credit card, which then accepted the cash when I refused. Shameful

Great views, friendly service, very good good and reasonable prices make this an easy choice. Enjoy! Oh and they have stunning menu for kids.

Disappointing visit and lack of care for our family I would like to share my experience at this restaurant to inform future guests about what they might expect. Our visit started promisingly, but unfortunately it took an unpleasant turn. First I would like to address the situation with my four-year-old son. He was served a thin glass, although it was not suitable for children. While he was drinking, the glass in his hand shattered, which was very worrying for all of us. Unfortunately, although the waiter noticed what was happening, he completely ignored it. We received no help or support, nor were we asked if everything was okay or if our child was okay. This was very disappointing and we felt let down. About the food: We ordered a meat platter, but it didn't satisfy us. Instead of a selection of tasty sausages and ham, we received mostly pure fat alongside some salami and Parma ham. This was inedible for us and not at all what we expected. Overall our visit to this restaurant was a disappointing experience. Due to the lack of care for our child and the poor quality of the food, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant and will visit other locations in the future.

The first impression is reminiscent of a typical tourist restaurant. After entering the Ristorante San Grato, you will find a nice restaurant with the most beautiful view, a fine menu and very attentive and friendly staff.

We were there for dinner on September 30, 2021. Very friendly and very accommodating hospitality! We will be happy to come back on our next visit to Ticino. Oh yes...the food. That was wonderful! Platter with cheese and various other delicacies. The lasagne, bruschetta and the risotto with blueberries were simply very good. And the view you can enjoy there is simply unforgettable. Tip: Be sure to go to 'Swing the World'. ;-)

Wow, the conversion to modern was very successful. The new hosts bring some momentum. The sensational view can now be enjoyed all year round. We were last here before Covid and are looking forward to the new menu. This time there was “only” enough time for a gazezosa and a tagliere with Ticino cheese and sausage specialties...

We got dinner. Everything was perfect. The service is very kind and the risotto with perch is very good.

Positive: Nice service, made an effort as our Italian isn't really that good. Not a long waiting time. Food was good, nicely prepared, portion ok. Negative: the mixed salad was catastrophic. Ready salt with 3 kl. Cherry tomatoes and a few olives and fennel. Partially Salad light and brown. Gave him back! The "new" one was a bit "fresher". There was an effort in service.... We stumbled upon the San Grato park somewhat by chance. Once we reached the restaurant we were attracted by the beauty of the location. The welcome of the manager, with her friendliness and cheerfulness, positively surprised us. Menu not extensive, but with a very interesting selection of dishes and wine list. Priceless panorama. We will definitely return.

Ci siamo fermati al ristorante durante la visita al parco. Il propietario molto simpatico e brillante ci ha consigliato il piatto del giorno (luganighetta e risotto con funghi porcini a parte). È stata un' ottima scelta, piatto saporito e lo consigliano vivamente. Se possibile ci ritorneremo volentieri.

The staff is completely overwhelmed when the number of guests is moderate. When we visited, only the terrace was occupied by around 30 guests. There were no guests inside. The three people in service were unable to serve the guests on the terrace in a useful time. We had to ask several times for drinks or the menu. This also happened to other guests. The kitchen did a good job. The food was fine. Unfortunately my Ticino sausage was served almost cold. The sausage and polenta were really tasty. The two stars are for the kitchen and the beautiful location. If the service were improved, this restaurant would quickly get 5 stars. I would like to be pleasantly surprised next time.

Auch hier durch Zufall gelandet und eigentlich sehr gut verpflegt. Montag, gegen 13.30 wenig Gäste. Etwas kühler Empfang, aber freundlich. Das Vitello Tonnato und auch das Piccata Funghi waren ausgezeichnet. Preislich für diese Lage mit dieser Aussicht wirklich sehr vernünftig. Die Fahrt mit dem Fiat 500 war super schön trotz sehr engen und kurvenreichen Strassen.R. R.

The location, inside the “Parco delle Azalee” is really beautiful and the garden is very nice, especially in this blossoming period of the year. Food is average or below, and you don’t climb up there again, for that. At least staff is friendly and owner hearty. The inside of the restaurant looks like time has stopped a few decades ago.

Per la sosta-pranzo, intermedia tra le visite mattutina e pomeridiana del meraviglioso "Parco di S.Grato" nelle vicinanze dello storico borgo di Carona nel Canton Ticino, ci siamo avvalsi dell'omonimo Ristorante di S.Grato, ubicato all'interno del medesimo in una posizione elevata dalla quale si ammira uno dei panorami più incantevoli del Lago di Lugano e delle verdissime colline e montagne circostanti.La fortuna ci ha assistiti, concedendoci di pranzare all'aperto in un tavolino fortunatamente libero e quindi di poter godere lo splendido panorama del Lago di Ceresio da un'ulteriore prospettiva.Il pranzo, tipicamente tradizionale, ci è stato consigliato con garbo dal gestore del locale e ha incontrato il nostro gradimento; il rapporto qualità/prezzo è risultato corretto; l'atmosfera "ticinese" ha ulteriormente soddisfatto le nostre aspettative.

Der Parco San Grato ist im Frühling ein unbeschreiblich schöner Ort. Die blühenden Sträucher ergiessen sich den Hang hinunter zum blauen See. Diese Aussicht hat man auch vom Restaurant aus.Die Qualität des Essens war noch nie hoch, lässt aber von Jahr zu Jahr mehr zu wünschen übrig.

Ci siamo goduti il classico pranzetto pasquale famigliare (vele con ricotta, capretto nostrano / lombatina di vitello / meringata con fragole / colomba, caffè, ecc) accompagnato da un piacevole Merlot. Semplice la presentazione ed il locale, buono il capretto e gradevole il menù nel complesso, simpatico il personale, purtroppo insufficiente per l'afflusso di ospiti. Prezzo adeguato. Meraviglioso il contesto naturale (bel giardino botanico i fiore, con imprendibili scorci sul lago di Lugano, Carona e San Salvatore). Inadeguato il parcheggio auto.

Hier war zur Zeit eine grössere Gruppe anwesend. Deshalb vertröstete uns die Bedienung, wir sollen noch etwas warten. Wenigstens hätte sie vorweg bereits die Getränke bringen können, so wären wir nicht auf dem Trockenen gesessen. Ab und zu kam sie wieder vorbei, aber hat immer nur etwas mit den Händen gefuchtelt, wenn wie sie etwas fragen wollten. Wir verliessen dann enttäuscht das Restaurant.

Bei jedem Aufenthalt im Tessin ist dieses Restaurant ein Muss! Erneut wurden wir schnell und kompetent bedient. Das Risotto mit frischen Pilzen war das Beste, das ich je gegessen habe. Die Gnocci und die Polenta mit Braten ebenfalls spitzenmässig. Wir kommen immer wieder in dieses Restaurant! Das Essen und die super Aussicht sind absolut lohnenswert.

Il difetto maggiore di questo ristorante è la lentezza del servizio, cosa che può non risultare affatto un problema se si vuole trascorrere un po' di tempo in totale relax, all'interno di una cornice spettacolare grazie alla splendida vista sul lago di Lugano.Il personale è molto cortese e il cibo è ottimo e non costa una fortuna. La scelta è relativamente ampia, ma consiglio sempre di seguire quello che suggerisce il proprietario con la sua "lavagnetta".

In Svizzera è difficile mangiare decentemente spendendo il giusto, questo ristorante senza troppe pretese ci riesce. Il servizio non brilla per velocità ma è molto cortese e cerca di dare consigli che aiutino la velocità di uscita dalla cucina dei piatti. C'è un menù del giorno con 6/7 piatti che possono soddisfare tutti i gusti. Ottimo il brasato con polenta, i prezzi sono in linea con quelli svizzeri quindi medio alti. La cosa fantastica è la vista sul lago e la fioritura di centinaia di azalee e rododendri. Sembra di guardare una cartolina!!!! A pochi metri c'è un grande parco giochi nel parco botanico dove i bimbi possono sfogarsi.

Giornata di sole io e il mio compagno pensiamo di venire in questo parco botanico e pranzare qui. Servizio lento 15 min per comandare bibite e cibo. Porzioni scarse tre fettine di coniglio disossato con un pochino di risotto 26 fr. 3 fette di pane, alla richiesta di pane portano mangime per galline pane secco striminzito....non ho parole! Sconsiglio vivamente

Questo ristorante vale la pena prima di tutto per il panorama magnifico sul lago di Lugano e la posizione centrale rispetto al Parco San Grato in mezzo alle azalee in fiore.Pranzo di Pasqua con menù fisso molto buono a prezzo ragionevole.Servizio veloce e cortese, anche con ristorante pieno.Parcheggio privato a fianco del ristorante.

Wir haben das Essen (Risotto, Saltimbocca) sehr genossen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und das Ambiente stimmungsvoll. Die Terrasse hat einen schönen Aussicht. Es ist nicht ganz günstig, aber entspricht den örtlichen Preisen.

Salendo dal villaggio di Carona si entra nel parco ideato dall'ingegnere Giussani e in un paradiso che fiorisce in primavera spicca anche un locale che offre una vasta gamma di piatti quali: il risotto all'ortica, la lombatina d'agnello e, più esotici, gli scampi al Pernod.La scelta dei vini s'impernia sui Merlot del territorio della cantina sociale di Mendrisio.Per famiglie con bambini è l'ideale poiché poco sopra v'è un vasto parco giochi.

Wir besuchten den wunderschönen Park mit grossem Spielplatz und auf dem Rückweg kehrten wir hier ein. Die Bediendung ist sehr kinderfreundlich, jedoch das Essen hat uns nicht so überzeugt. Wir haben in Carona schon deutlich besser gegessen.

Speziell waren ein sehr gutes Risotto mit Pilzen und eine Pflaumen-Waehe mit Glace. Zuvorkommender Service welcher auf die Sonderwünsche der Kinder einging.

Ristorante immerso nel parco botanico di Carona, sopra Lugano. Vista mozzafiato sul lago, fresco d'estate. I piatti sono sempre particolari, preparati con materie prime di qualita', strizzando l'occhio alla tradizione ma con il tocco dello chef. L'ultim torta di pane era fatta con i fichi del giardino del proprietario... veramente molto genuino. Carta vini interessante, propone ottime etichette del posto e non. Prezzi non proprio popolari, ma la qualita', la genuinita' e tali preparazioni valgono assolutamente il prezzo richiesto. Da non perdere se si e' in visita a Lugano.

Das Restaurant ist auf dem Berg mit Blick auf das beste Aussichtspunkt, der den Park bietet. Speisekarte ist gut, der Service ist sehr freundlich und schnell.Frische Pilze im Angebot sind als in der Nebensaison.Auf der anderen Seite waren wir ein wenig enttäuscht, dass wir nicht mit unseren Ccards bezahlen und für Bargeld zwischen uns abkratzen mussten wie die Rechnung war nicht klein.

Wir waren bereits zum zweiten Mal hier und wurden wieder nicht enttäuscht: Das Personal ist sehr nett, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Die Speisen sind von hoher Qualität werden alle frisch zubereitet und schmecken dementsprechend herrlich und autentisch. Da viel los war mussten wir einige Zeit auf unser Essen warten. So konnten wir eine Weile die herrliche Aussicht geniessen - und erhielten dann unser frisch zubereitetes Mittagsmenü.

Splendido ristorante in collina, nel quartiere più colorato di Lugano, situato a Carona, nel mezzo di un parco botanico famoso per le fioriture di maggio. Il ristorante è il posto ideale dove soffermarsi in tutta tranquillità, e sentirsi come in famiglia. Cucina curata e semplice al contempo. Lasciatevi consigliare anche per un buon vino. Non si tratta affatto di un ristorante per turisti: chi abita qui e chi è da fuori, è trattato alla stessa maniera, come un re!

Abbiamo prenotato il giorno prima il tavolo e l'orario di persona. Arrivati sul posto non c'era la polenta, non c'era il maialino al forno segnalato sulle tavolette esterne. 1 ora di attesa con vino e acqua! Servizio pessimo al tavolo per tutti! I camerieri vagavano con i tableau con con caffè' e gelati e cercavano il numero di tavolo. Un disastro mai visto una gerenza scadente al punto tale che il cliente dovrebbe andarsene. Sembrava quelle trasmissioni comiche con le telecamere nascoste. Per finire il conto arriva senza che nessuno lo abbia richiesto, non chiedendoci se volevamo un caffè o un dessert. Ci dispiace per gli altri clienti quasi tutti tedeschi e indifesi a causa della lingua e dell'eta'

Abbiamo pranzato un sabato a mezzogiorno sulla terrazza di questo simpatico ristorante. Ho assaggiato i tortelli al tartufo: molto buoni. Anche il piatto ticinese propone salumi di qualità. Personale gentile con "show" e battute per turisti del caposala. Prezzi non proprio popolari, compensati dalla magnifica location!

Essendo del posto, ho sempre guardato con diffidenza a questo ristorante, l'ho sempre visto come una delle classiche trappole per turisti. Invece è stata una piacevole scoperta. L'occasione era la Prima Comunione di nostro figlio. Già al momento della prenotazione, per 6 persone, il gerente è stato molto cordiale. Cordialità che abbiamo trovato anche durante tutto il pranzo. La carta non è grandissima, ma ci sono sempre piatti proposti, fuori carta. Propone parecchie specialità Ticinesi.Le portate sono abbondanti e curate. I dessert sono quasi tutti fatti in casa. Ottima la scelta dei vini.

Ci sono andato con amici per la prima volta e devo dire che... il posto e la vista sono eccezionali. Anche il ristorante è carino, spazioso, e il personale disponibile e simpatico. Abbiamo preso, per iniziare, un buon piatto di affettato misto.... seguito da polenta e brasato. L'affettato era molto buono. La polenta ...da ticinese devo dire che non era il massimo, forse un po molle, ... da turista... andava bene. Il brasato era passabile. I prezzi sono onesti. Ci tornerei di certo un'altra volta.

Sono stato recentemente in questo ristorante con dei famigliari.Francamente all'inizio ero un pò scettico sulla scelta del locale, infatti pensavo di essere arrivato nel solito ristorante buono solo per turisti di passaggio.Invece sono stato subito sconfessato. Accoglienza e servizio ottimi e carta semplice ma ricca di piatti interessanti.Tutti i piatti ordinati si sono rivelati deliziosi e i prezzi sono più che appropriati.L'ubicazione nel parco botanico e la vista danno un valore aggiunto al locale.

Una vista da mozza fiato sul lago un parco meraviglioso anche in mese di luglio.Mangiato ottimamente dei funghi porcini freschissimi e polenta a volontà.Il servizio è ottimo e molto gentile anche consigli per le visite da fare sul lago.Grazie
