Don't hesitate for a second to go eat at Rani. The boss welcomed us at the last minute even though it was full. Really a great meal with our girls who enjoyed tasting Indian cuisine for the first time. Great choice of wines, a plus to complement your dishes. Thank you very much for the welcome. First time for me in this Indian restaurant. The owner is very kind and we immediately felt in a family environment. We tried the starters and the lamb vindaloo. The meat was really good and the spices didn't overpower the flavor as they often do.

Top cuisine, the chicken Butter transcended me, I will come back! The server is very attentive to customers and the exchanges are pleasant!

I came to eat on my lunch break and it was a real pleasure! A smiling and jovial young boy presented me with the buffet which is filled with tasty dishes. From vegetables to meat dishes, including the famous biryani, the spices revived my taste buds. I don't often rate restaurants but this was a real success! In addition, the small veranda is a warm place. The only downside is the scaffolding which does not enhance the exterior of the restaurant. Oh yes and the little mango mousse flavored with cardamom for dessert toooop! If you are in Lausanne, this is a restaurant that I highly recommend.

Family meal (3) Sunday lunchtime. We tasted several dishes, desserts and drinks. The dishes are very well prepared, the quantity is sufficient and the owner offered additional rice if desired. The welcome is warm. The service is very good. The spiced coffee is original and very good. We are already looking forward to going back to try other dishes.

I had a lot of fun discovering this restaurant. Very calm Monday evening, where we spoke warmly with the boss. The Rani is a very simple place, the cuisine is friendly and very good. I loved the Ularthiyathu lamb, with a very pronounced and spicy flavor. We had a starter to share with some excellent Indian specialties. The mango mousse at the end of the meal was the icing on the cake. The wine list is interesting. I took a Nero di Troia which went very well with the spicy side of the dishes. I would come back with great pleasure!

Most of the time we ate in this restaurent for the very nice buffet with excellent Price in Lausanne 22CHF In the buffet nice variety of briyani and plain rice, beef, chicken, fish,mutton, at least 4 vegetables curry, mango chutney, nice simple salad. Papadam and more and more Quality of the food is the key of this restaurent. Owner of the restaurent is very nice and welcoming person. 👌 Nice internal arrangement with beautiful Indian posters on the wall. You have small bar saved all kind of alcohol. Cafe and excellent mango desert at the end of buffet. Thank you for the taste of India chef. Please keep the same quality that will make the customers don't have another choice. Toilets are nice and clean. Overall well done. Highly recommended, one of the best asian restaurent in Lausanne.

Very nice Indian restaurant with a focus on Kerala cuisine. Very nice vegan and vegetarian options as well. I tried samosa and chicken 65 as starters. The main course was butter chicken and naan. All the dishes were delicious. A notable feature is the authenticity of the dishes using very indigenous spices and condiments. The mango lassi was so refreshing. The staff were very cordial and helpful. I really recommend this place if you want to try authentic flavorful Indian dishes!

Great place to have authentic Indian food in Lausanne. Food is delicious, and they have vegan, vegetarian, and non vegetarian options also available. We tried uttapam as a starter & malabar chicken, naan, daal, raita for the main course & mango mousse for dessert. Loved it all! Service is super friendly. They also have lunch menu options available for CHF 22. Parking options are easy to find around the restaurant.

Lovely Indian restaurant in Lausanne. It has had a slight change in ownership and Chef Liby (ex Nandanam) has joined the team. The food is fantastic, great flavours with an authentic taste of South India. They also don't use too much oil which makes for lighter meals (for Indian food ;)). They also have a CHF 22 priced buffet on weekdays which is quite extensive in its offering. Great service from the team there as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting the place.

As always, a great time spent at the Rani. The cuisine is always excellent, meat or fish, the presentation is fine and the dishes are tasty. The service is very caring and attentive. The atmosphere, warm decor surrounded by typical decorations, allows you to travel, giving the impression of having had a vacation meal.

Great dinner experience in this stylish Indian restaurant. We took lamb filet and lamb shank Vindaloo with naans. The lamb filet was tender and its sauce rich and tasty. Great portion for the lamb shank, plating was beautiful, although the fried veggies lack some crispyness. Naan went well with the dish too Special mention to the mango Lassi, my favorite version so far, elevated with spices (like cardamom and cumin), it was so addictive! And the staffs were nice

The restaurant doesn't look like much but the dishes are very good. The only downside is that there is very little meat (5 pieces) in my dish. On the other hand, a very nice presentation of the entries. The poor waitress alone for a crowded room, hence the wait. We will come back to this but hope that the quantities increase a little.

We go there every week, on site or to bring, and we love this place! The dishes are delicious with many original flavors, and very well presented. The restaurateur is also very friendly, knows the wines very well and is happy to advise you. For us, it is the benchmark in the neighborhood!

The food here was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We were a group of 8 people that visited the restaurant, all indians but from different parts of the country and we found the food very much to our liking. I'm from the south and the I liked the dosa they had there. Probably worth a try!

We had an excellent meal with very good service. Our server was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. The chef also came to our table and shared some of his culinary secrets. I can highly recommend the lamb shank. It was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of couscous very subtly seasoned with Indian herbs and a very unique essence sauce. My wife had a vegetarian dish and was also very satisfied.

I wanted to eat here but lost all confidence when I read the misleading content on the menu "LEXICON" page. And I am tired of having to waste my energy discussing with incompetent and ignorant restaurateurs (not mastering the subject that they display on their menu) to know the smallest detail of the composition of the dishes, because of this lack of clarity displayed in the map. This is why I preferred to leave and give up eating here. Coming back to the problem, on one of the pages of the card, it is marked in the title, on a green background, “VEGAN”. But when you read the dishes in detail you realize that it is false advertising. • Already vegan food does not exist, it is “vegan” food. • Then, it is not even a menu of vegan dishes that this restaurant offers, but of VEGETARIAN DISHES: since there are POA (Products of Animal Origin) in them: milk, ghee (a fat important cooking method in Indian cuisine), honey, etc. It is a real problem to title an entire menu under a false name, because customers who are not careful and not as experienced as me (who will therefore blindly trust what the restaurant displays on the menu) can order one of these dishes while thinking of eating vegan with a clear conscience, when the dish will in reality be vegetarian. They will therefore swallow POAs, against their will. Such a lack of transparency, precision and therefore professionalism in an area that the restaurant is supposed to master is unacceptable. This type of lax practice can only result, at best, in a lack of respect for the values ​​and consent of the consumers who trust you. At worst, food allergies end up at the doctor or emergency room.
