+Fine food, especially etagere highly recommended for vegetarians +attentive service and courteous. -Mostly very crowded and quite loud and a little cramped. -However, you always have to reserve in advance, especially on weekends, otherwise you have to wait a long time.

Every single item we orderer tasted better than expected, coffee included. We came for brunch with a reservation. Service was quick and friendly, staff asks you whether you’d like to speak German or English. Will definitely return for more!

Ok. It's been a while since I left a review on Google. Babu's gave me the best chicken, egg, and bacon bagel I've ever had. The mocha I ordered was perfection. The porridge was also spot on. I have to admit, I've never gone somewhere for breakfast and enjoyed it so much to then think about it again all day. Everything was perfect about BABU's.

Nice bakery offering sit down and take out options. We got cookies and an assortment of pastries for take out after a hike up Uetliberg. They were all pretty tasty and fresh! Next time we'll come with more time and sit down for a while since the inside looks comfortable and cozy.

Lovely breakfast bagel and portobello toast. Once you have a seat, you order upfront and are served quickly by friendly team members.

Lovely lemon cake! If you want to dine it, there is a little bit of a wait (10-15minutes). You have two lines as you enter, the line on the left is to buy items and go and the one on the right is to wait for seating. The breakfast platter which is small and has a mix of cold cuts and cheeses is a little limiting in the cold cuts amount however, it is for CHF13,- which you will realise is just Zürich prices - it’s a good snack amount.

Finally found a "bakery" cafe at Stadelhofen where you can sit... Thursday morning at 9:00 everything was full, we could only get a place "in the shop window". Self-service. The espresso was sour and undrinkable for us. The scone was okay, something in common with the English original. But what was very tasty was the apple-cinnamon snail. Really good.

i‘ve visited this bakery once/ twice a months since four years. the last couple visits were quite disappointing. especially with the employee at the cash register. today around 4pm there was no line and so i decided to spontaneously to dine in. the female at the cash register seemed not motivated and unfriendly, not the first time i‘ve encountered her. the only attentive employee today was the one guy in the team. i ordered a chai latte, which i won’t recommend. it was barely warm, had an off taste and was too sweet. generally, i‘m bummed out about that some of their pastry have somehow changed their appearance and don’t taste the same as they used to. overall, unsatisfied.

Very nice brunch place that is always packed to the brim so would recommend a reservation a day before. I absolutely love the hash browns with bacon and sunny side up egg! They also bake fresh cakes/desserts and are extremely delicious! Especially the raspberry tart. It is a little bit over priced but it is definitely worth going once in a while. Best brunch place in Zurich.

It was very nice. It is a little expensive but the food is very good and the bakery itself is very lovely. It was a tight at our table because it was a bit small and we had a buffet so it was hard to place everything but all in all very good. Will definetly come back here!

Got a hash brown with scrambled eggs, carrot cake, and a focaccia. I think the focaccia was the best as the hashbrown though crispy on the outside, is really normal I felt. Carrot cake was decent with a hinge of lemon. Got an americano which doesn’t taste too well. We went on a Friday morning and it was packed inside so we opted for an outdoor seats. Service staffs were rather friendly and food was served promptly too. Rating 3 stars as I felt it’s a little overpriced for the food I ordered.

The most child-friendly coffee in Zurich! We are overwhelmed by the understanding and support of the entire staff. The stroller and our crying infant were no problem! Thanks so much! We really appreciate it!

This is one of my favorite places to have brunch in Zurich! The waiting time can get pretty long so make sure that you reserve before. The service is TOP and also the food is delicious with quite good price value. It is definetely recommended if you find yourself in Zurich.

Not again. “Theaterstr” table and babus finet pre-ordered. The location is a lot, but certainly not a place with charisma. After 10 minutes the service came, after another 10 minutes the drinks, after 30 minutes we asked when we could expect the food etc. the scrambled eggs with bacon we ordered came without bacon…… The price was right again…

Just no. I don't understand some people's beliefs at all. The prices are close to the Baur au Lac Hotel and value for money is not right at all. You are not served at the table. The café is always full, or at least it seems so because it is very cramped. The ceiling vent blows cool air directly down to where I and the food are. (Visit in winter, depending on where you sit) Due to the long line at the checkout, we decided to grab some small to-go and find another cafe nearby. But we were served with a wry look and the statement “oh, we hardly ever do to-go haha”. After we asked for a cookie and a croissant, the waitress responded with the counter question: “Ah, isn’t there any left in the glass there??” “You should know that, you work here.” She: “ehhhhhm” We then left without anything and thanked them for the experience.

Food was mostly fine. Nice selection, very nicely presented (etagère breakfast). The muesli was a bit sour, the scrambled egg with bacon was somehow covered in liquid and bacon fat. Everything else tasted good to us. The restaurant was very busy (Mon morning). Luckily we have reservations. Furnishings very homely/cozy. It was sometimes a challenge to get noticed by the service team to reorder. For 3 people, the Etagèren breakfast including 1.5 hot drinks per person paid an average of CHF 140.-, which I consider to be the upper limit. But we were all full and had a few things packed up.

I let myself to say this after 5 years of visiting this place - I very much like Babus, for lovely short bread cookies and spicy oat cookie. Thats all 😅 Rest it is kinda nothing really special.. just it is, overpriced unfortunately, and not delicious, All of the food in Babus is just correct… :)

I'm thrilled with the babus and the products, and I'm happy to pay high prices for them. What I just don't understand is the way of ordering. Saturday morning, a lot of people are standing in the entrance. I would like to order some tea first. Only one cash register is open, which means I have to stand at the back and wait 10 minutes until I order the tea, and it takes another 12 minutes for it to arrive. Every time we went there (as a couple) there was one person in line to order. Why can't you order at the table using a QR code? That would reduce a lot of frustration! I think investing in the ordering system would be great for all customers!!!

Food and baked goods are pretty delish. Super busy on weekends. Make sure to reserve your table. Cuz walk-in lines are looong. Their order-at-counter-system is such a hassle. Tip: As soon as it’s your turn, order all at once - if you forget to order sth or you want to order another item later, it’s gonna take forever unfortunately.

Pastry is great, however we got the avocado toast and it was basically tasteless - it was just mashed avocado placed on bread - no spices whatsoever. Other than that the staff was very cute.

Had an extensive brunch here with granddaughter, it was excellent, nice service and cozy atmosphere.

Super brilliant breakfast. Bagels are awesome. But if you want an orange juice in the middle of your meal, for example, you have to wait in line at the checkout. behind the people who get "to go"....in our case you stand in line for 10 minutes and your lost egg is cold...it's a shame

Be sure to reserve in advance. It's rather expensive but worth a visit! The staff tries very hard, explains everything in advance and introduces the various delicacies from the etagère.

Absolutely no value for money - especially for the self-ordering system at the counter and with a high number of visitors there was also a train station feeling inside - a shame - but the food itself was good and the service was also friendly

This place is a must try!!! Ian’s service was absolutely outstanding and highly deserving of praise. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, seated at the best spot in the restaurant even without a booking. He helped us with our order and also saw us out with handshakes and a smile on his face. We also saw other staff including Ian helping customers out with their luggage in the store. Give my guy Ian a raise!! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, warm and welcoming. The only negative would be that the portion size of the food was small (still hungry after eating). Recommendations: eggs Benedict, pancakes, gingerbread coffee and mushroom breakfast. All amazing!!

I was at Babu's Bakery & Coffeehouse on Saturday. I had rösti with sausages for lunch and drank a Coca Cola and just enjoyed the day and had nothing to do and that was just nice.

I went with my husband for coffee on the last day of the year and it was a perfect choice. The carrot cake was amazing, the egg benedict and egg florentine were wonderful, and the café latte was delicious too! I highly recommend it.

Babu's, place of the heart. A delightful place to relax. The place has attention to detail, the staff is friendly and the food... super. I ate the best açai bowl in my entire life. I will definitely come back

Decent food. I had the scrambled egg and Hash brown which was decently portioned,cooked well. Avocado toast was nice, bread a little chewy but flavour was great.

Don’t let the picture fool you. We wish our visit was as nice as the picture looks. It’s a self service cafe place but they don’t bring that to your attention, so we sat there for at least 10 minutes like fools. We then ordered our food which were two different kinds of eggs Benedict which they served one of the wrong kind and the other one was already cold by the time we got it. They were not friendly nor attentive even though there was plenty of staff, just standing around. Our conclusion after this visit is that it was not good service nor food and for that the prices are not reasonable. A real bummer!

For a brunch on a Saturday, the perfect ambience and a varied offering. Everything was freshly prepared, the staff was very friendly! Stephan was a great guy and made time for us. Always worth a visit⭐️ But it's not exactly cheap.. we spent 177.- for 4 people..

Big rip off! Long queue only to be seated outdoors which is super cold. A decent mean per person will be CHF 30++ and they don't have heating outdoors?! Food is ok, but overpriced in every aspect. Service is sub par. We were with a 4 year old and the manager didn't bother to seat us in when few tables remained unoccupied for the entire time we ate outdoors in the cold weather. Wish I knew before queuing up that they only offer outdoor seating for walk-ins.

Lovely coffee shop all around!! Everyone is very kind and attentive (and patient for those of us with super limited Swiss-German skills.) They offer non-dairy and lactose-free milks which was a huge plus for me! The food is delicious (had a poached egg which was served with greens, a dab of tomato based sauce, and two different breads!) and the coffee is great (gingerbread latte w. oat milk.) It's been my go-to while on vacation, thank you!

Love, love, love the pouched egg ❤️ and the baked goods are terrific. Service is often friendly and quick. However, I think it's a bit of a shame that Babu's is so full. Creates a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere. Especially when every table is occupied.

We went for breakfast, but they said we had to wait 45 minutes without a reservation. We got our food from inside and continued. I don't think there is any need to wait in an extra queue.

The food is excellent and there are many options to eat and coffee as well. Definitely the best is to reserve before going, otherwise is possible you have to wait minimum half an hour or more.. anyways, if you have time it worth it!

Great service, ambience and most importantly spectacular bakes. The croissant was dope! It opened sharp at 7 am and there was a steady stream of locals. Would recommend to anyone who is travelling around the area!

Tip: even if the line is long and he says 45min. Stick with it; 1) its worth it. And 2) most people dont want to wait that long so the queue quickly gets smaller. We waited 15min when told 45min ✌️🎉

Too crowded, okay food, high prices.

A great cafe offering, among others: coffee, cappuccino and cakes. Friendly atmosphere. I think the prices are reasonable. Friendly and efficient staff. A good place to meet friends. I recommend Cappuccino and sweets ;) I would happily choose this place again if I visited the city again.

Rather disappointed. The place looks cozy but so over crowded that it looses its charm. How they handle reservations is curious, no matter how much you are late they keep the table even with a queue outside. We had 1h wait and the food is not worth it. Rather average. The bacon was too burnt almost, so hard that it was not enjoyable. The poached egg is nowhere near restaurant quality.

System for ordering was a bit confusing. You have to be seated by them at a table then you can go order at the counter. I guess I got skipped in line for a table so when I got to the counter the lady acted like I was an idiot for not having a table and just shrugged, so I left. Food looked good though.

We ordered: - Babu s basic breakfast - 10.50 CHF each - capucino 5.5 CHF each - Babu s homemade hash browns - rosti with eggs 20.5 CHF - cheesecake 7.5 ——————————————— Conclusion: VERY DELICIOUS!! Really recommend ☺️

A typical brunch restaurant in the heart of Zurich. Make sure you book in advance! The menu is extensive and offers classics such as avocado toast and various sandwiches, or you can choose something unique from the baked goods. The coffee is also good, the service could be something better, I've been here 3 times and each time there was a small problem with the order. The prices are pretty average for Zurich. It's definitely worth a try!

Had a yummy breakfast here. Avocado with sourdough toast is delicious. This shop must be popular, need reservation even on a weekday morning, so we end up sit outside. The only things is I find it a bit pricey.

We went there for brunch and without reservation we had to wait for 30/40 minutes. The place itself is nice but bit crowded with not that much space left even just to walk around. They gave us our table (we could stay for roughly 1 hour and half) and we order a mixed of avocado toast, scrambled eggs, benedict eggs, pancakes and cappuccino. Nothing was really special and outstanding. I would say average especially the avocado toast. Scrambled eggs were totally with no taste, although the bacon was really good. We spend roughly 35 per person. The price are fair for the quantity and portion but not for the quality. Overall I would not there again especially if you need to queue.

I love this place, the avocado toast is very good and the carrot cake is exquisite. The weekend is always quite busy. I recommend it for a coffee with friends or a partner. The pancakes are delicious and so is the scone.

Super cool coffeehouse with fine food. It's pretty busy but the brunch and coffee is great. I've been there several times and I always like it. Price/performance ratio is 100 per cent, you get very good food, fresh and nicely decorated. Top. Always happy to come back.

The ambience, the food and the drinks are great. The problem is the organization. The weekend queue to get a table can last 1 hour. Then you have to order yourself at the counter. A reservation is only possible if you pre-order the overpriced, completely unnecessary and boring cake stand. Nobody wants this cake stand. Everyone who has one on the table still orders something else and no one eats what is on the cake stand. It seems like that's the price of the reservation.

Great brunch place. Loved the matcha latte and avocado bagel. Downside is that you have to book a table far in advance or battle it out at the door. The entrance is also not very comfortable to wait since there are multiple lines and people also leaving... The interior is also really loud and very crowded at peak times! But the service was great and quite fast despite the full restaurant. Book ahead of time and consider coming slightly early or late for a more comfortable experience.

Taste was okay, though maybe a little dry and some sauce would have gone well with it. Decent portion sizes and service was nice.
