Excellent tearoom just a small flaw the sofas are not always fresh but otherwise really great

Colorful tea room in orange tones, airy, with homemade chocolates. The cappuccino is delicious!

Our Easter bunnies have arrived. Open on Sundays and public holidays 8am to 4pm. The day begins with coffee, croissants or breakfast. At lunchtime, a sandwich, sandwich or a crisp salad. Afternoon, fruit cake, patisserie, ice cream. We end the day with an aperitif among friends. A cold beer, a glass of wine or a drink. On the Saturday after visiting the market, we are the ideal meeting place for friends and acquaintances. The Marktgasse team looks forward to your visit.

We wanted to get a mulled wine take away after the carnival parade (that's what they were advertising for). But as soon as we came in, the employee shouted loudly at us without greeting us that they were full and had no more space. Ok, we just wanted something take away but if you're greeted like that then you probably don't need the sales. We turned on our heel and went somewhere else.

We had 3 really good pastries. On the other hand, the service and welcome needs to be reviewed... - They refuse to bring us the tray upstairs because I quote "I have to serve the other customers, I don't have time". If staff are unable to serve on the 1st floor, why not close it and clearly indicate this? - When we come back down with our children, our arms full, one of the sellers exclaims to the other: "Roooo... they haven't even brought their tray back down... that's so...." . It seems crazy... if I want to bring my tray back myself I go to McDonald's or Coop Restaurant ... unacceptable! In short, what a welcome and what service! Tip: Take away unless you like the McDonald's atmosphere ^^.

Croissants at the limit, otherwise everything quality. Sometimes it would be cool if the boss himself would help a little when there is stress because the employee can't do everything alone.

Following my visit, I am disappointed. The extremely aggressive waitress. 3 customers before me had it put back in place. She speaks badly and when we answer her a little curtly....She refuses to serve the customer. In terms of merchandise, no more bread at the choc and the quality of the croissants was just terrible. In short, I think I will probably never come back again

I love sandwiches. You can't eat the stuff from M and C. The ones from Back-caffee taste great.

Very well-equipped and centrally located branch of this well-known chain with the usual very good quality. The floor makes it look a bit like an American diner, which makes it a little cooler. In summer there is seating outside in the most central location in Biel's pedestrian zone.

The restaurant is well located in the city center of Biel, a few minutes' walk from the train station. Public transport connections are available and can also be easily reached by bike. The staff seemed unmotivated to me, but they were friendly. The furnishings are spartan, everything is kept very simple. The price level for the food and drinks is medium-high. The coffee was ok, the croissant was rather dry. The toilet was not clean, there is definitely a need for action here.

Nice place, staff is kinda absent

The coffee advertises that it has 364 open doors. However, yesterday we stood in front of closed doors. The coffee shop was simply closed and there was no information to be found as to why this was the case... It was pretty annoying for us. The managing director at least apologized afterwards. But something like that shouldn't actually happen.

We didn't take anything as we were completely snubbed by the staff. Damage.

Employees seem extremely demotivated (at least that was the case today). Instead of two people sitting at a table, a friendly greeting would have been nice. Cappuccino at the lower limit of mediocrity. The design of the store is debatable; it seems too cold and almost sterile to me. Unfortunately the coffee didn't give off any atmosphere for me, it would have been ok if the staff and coffee had been good.

The staff is not friendly with a few exceptions the pastries are too big for my taste and they don't even bring the tray to the 1st floor. The ground floor is cold but the upstairs is warm and friendly.

Those who work on the street of the new market are poorly educated, they look at you badly if you just have a coffee and they pretend that you buy cupcakes or something otherwise they don't even say thank you I prefer PANETIER all my life

Very disappointing! The salami sandwich has just a little stingy, spartan butter spread in the dry roll, 5 wafer-thin slices of salami and a single, lonely slice of cucumber... and all that for an outrageous 5 francs! Dry as a bone and not worth the money in the slightest. It's a shame, because the patisserie is actually quite ok...

NEVER AGAIN!!! The service staff would have to be replaced immediately! Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. we (4 adults, 2 children, 1 baby) wanted to have breakfast in the Back-Café. On the ground floor. There were already customers drinking beer 🍺... otherwise the back café was empty... we then made ourselves comfortable on the 1st floor. After 20 minutes of unexpected waiting for the waitress, we decided to take a look downstairs and see where she was! When we asked if we could finally order, the lady said: “I'm definitely not coming upstairs to take an order!! I thought I'd just wait now... they'll definitely come at some point if they want to order something..." She asked us if it was our first time here in the Back-Café.... yes we were... then the lady said: “I don't serve anyone on the 1st floor! Ergo... we packed our things and went to have breakfast somewhere else! When we said goodbye to the waitress and told her that we wouldn't be coming here again, she said: “I don't care about that...! It's not my business!

Went to the coffee shop with my wife for a latte. Since our first date, we've given every restaurant a number between 1 and 10. We didn't like it badly compared to other restaurants. I would give it a 3 and my wife would give it a 4. So in the Google rating system it would be a 2. We particularly liked the very friendly service and the bright rooms. Unfortunately it was a bit cold. The bright orange color is very modern, but doesn't add to the coziness... A chocolate brown leather would be nice and would also match the beautiful wooden stairs. A bit of a shame, the selection of lunch was minimal! Finally We still found something to 🌮🍝🍲 on the map.

Large selection of pastries, well presented. Nice foam on the cappuccino. On the other hand, if you drink a coffee on the ground floor, I find it a bit like a canteen. It could be warmer and cozier. And the negative point is that the lady who served us didn't speak a word of French... and the menu is only in German... Bienne, a bilingual city....

Welcomed with a smile does me a lot of good

The coffee is good and the location is pleasant because there is no traffic. On the other hand, the service would be more pleasant with a smiling waitress who doesn't watch as if we were going to run away without paying her. Otherwise the hazelnut snails and brownies are very good ;-)

Friendly service! Fresh and delicious products that you can enjoy in the cozy lounge or, when the weather is nice, on the terrace.

Industrial confectionery bakery ❗Good coffee, bread could honestly do better, it's limited I think about the choice of different types of bread ❗ On the other hand, in terms of the place, the interior for lunch is on the 1st floor door it is really great arranged very comfortable armchair, sofa and chair with a view of my rue du Marché ❗Magnificent

Beautiful terrace and pretty window

It is a pastry-bakery which has its head office in Grenchen. The site is very pleasant and well located on a square without traffic, where you can easily take a seat on the terrace. Inside, the ground floor welcomes customers with a richly furnished all-glass bar. But the first floor is, in my opinion, the most pleasant of the spaces devoted to chairs and tables, because part of it is made up of single armchairs in a warm atmosphere, where the old floor boards are superbly restored.
