Very, very fine bakery. Unfortunately I'm not the only one who knows this. Always has a lot of people and a very long queue. You need time to buy something!

Be sure to get here early! The chocolate croissant was delicious. We also had some other pastries, a chocolate bunny, and their whiskey truffles. Everything was really good!

Certainly the best bakery in Basel, maybe even the best bakery in all of Switzerland 😀 Everything just fits here, super friendly service, everything is made by hand and not just mass production from the supermarket.

One of the best bakeries in Basel.

It's a real shame for everyone who doesn't know how fine the baked goods are in this great place. Every Saturday I drive about 10 km to get the kugelhopf with chocolate, nut and apple filling. Our littlest one always comes with us because he knows he can still get his free ride from the nice lady. wonderful, see you on Saturday

The bakery is by far the best I have ever shopped at. The bread is a dream...the cakes are delicious. The staff very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, after so many positive reviews, we have to give a negative review: The saleswoman was very unfriendly. The good baked goods do not compensate for the negative sales experience. Luckily there are other good bakeries with friendly sales staff in Basel. Conclusion: THIS BAKERY IS DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!

Supposed to be the 4th best bakery/patisserie in Basel but the croissants although great value were almost inedible because they were too salty.

It's a shame that there are no more bakeries like this in Basel. However: We have the Confiserie Krebs and it has been simply great (for years)!

The best bakery in Switzerland. The interior of the store has hardly changed since I was a child and this is not meant in a negative sense at all. The saleswomen always have a smile on their faces, whether it's 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. The goods are of excellent quality and almost every time I wonder whether the salespeople have miscalculated when I see the low price at the end of a purchase. I have never received such good products for such a good price combined with such friendliness in any other bakery!

I got a huge bread from my sister for my 70th birthday with the writing 70 years on it, it was great and so good 👍🥖

Very good butter croissants, graham bread is highly recommended and the whiskey truffles are the best in town. I still have to try the rest 🙏😀

The "Krebs" (under the grandparents of the current operators still "Obrist", where my great-grandparents "siesse Murbs" used to go shopping) has been in a league of its own for decades and is an institution in Basel. Everything here is worth experiencing, from the astonishing breadth of the range to the excellent quality of the baked goods and confectionery products to a shop team that has been working together for decades and is unparalleled in terms of professionalism and (almost old-fashioned) courtesy. Everything, from the legendary "Schnägg" (a "hit" among craftsmen, as I was told) to the always wonderfully designed shop window, is made here with a lot of love and dedication. The only "cancer" is low-flying when it comes to prices, which have remained unchanged and record low for ages. When you look at the queues in front of the shop, you almost feel a little pity for the poor people of Basel who apparently have to share a single bakery... My favourite patisserie and bakery in the whole of Europe, not only Switzerland. The range of cakes, bread and sandwiches is the best I have ever seen. Family business since 70 years. Try the Whisky Stengeli!

Hubby has been raving about this retro looking bakery & often brought home their huge, heavy, most delicious, and not to even mention the cheapest Schnecke you'll ever find in Switzerland. Be warned - once you tasted theirs, none other will ever satisfy you. Here, I asked them to make 30 smaller ones for my kid's birthday. When I went there the very first time to pick it up, true enough - the whole bakery layout seems stuck in time and the lovely ladies at the counter remind me of the movie "pleasantville". Just lovely.

My absolute favorite bakery since I was a child. A family business with just one branch. Large selection of delicious baked goods. The breads are extremely good and at a very moderate price. You definitely have to try the whiskey truffles, otherwise you'll miss something...On special days, such as Epiphany, the queue of visitors stretches far out onto the sidewalk The bakery is 100% recommended.

The Krebs is the best bakery in the canton of Basel-Stadt. The quality is unrivaled and the price is half free. We always buy our “rain cakes” there for our bike couriers as a reward for working in bad weather. As loyal customers, we occasionally receive a Gugelhopf as a gift. This is great customer loyalty, but it’s actually not necessary. We come because of the delicious products and the friendliness of the staff!

I agree with the many 5 star reviews and confirm once again what many have said before me, super nice staff, never unfriendly or stressed, even if there is always a lot going on and that has been every time I've been there... very fair prices and the most important thing, of course, super delicious baked goods. But be careful, the nut snails are addictive and even if the shop isn't really on my route, I like to take a detour 😁🤤

How, but how do they manage to make such delicious and wonderful apple cake or croissants and other sweets? And for so cheap??? It costs almost nothing compared to other bakeries in Basel. I have never seen this price-performance ratio before. The staff is very nice and flexible, they made an effort to get us our order at the last moment. I sometimes go to work early in the morning (around 5) just as the croissants come out of the oven: sensational.

A really very good bakery. The service is always very friendly, helpful and accommodating. A wide selection of different breads (flaked bread and butter plaited bread are recommended). Highly recommend Käsweihe...one of the best bakeries in Basel! Different selection of sweet parts, we love the delicious snails! You usually have to take a little time to buy, as many people appreciate the wide range and good products and therefore you usually have to queue. Highly recommended!

The Confiserie Krebs is a MUST! With so many excellent delicacies, it's really difficult to choose because everything is excellent and very inexpensive. Everyone comes here, you see police officers, paramedics, etc., and the shop is always full.
