Great ambience, nice staff, I always like tea in a pot, good menu, we were very satisfied and will come back.

Always go to Marmotte after cross-country skiing. Always have fine things, such as sandwiches, patisserie, orange cake, Ruch and model breads, pralines, vermicelle, etc. Various teas, drinks, ice cream, menus, etc. Visit recommended 😀 Freddy

Typical bakery with a very cozy snack area. After a hike in the snow, nothing better than warming up here! Good pastries, a warm welcome and also help from the boss to find our train timetable.

Nice location to have a coffee if you are passing through. €4.70 for a cup of coffee is actually completely absurd in such a village, but that is part of Switzerland.

Would highly recommend, everything is delicious on their dessert menu 😍

Bakery with the possibility of having breakfast on site. They have a very pleasant terrace in summer with a nice view of the surrounding mountains. The pastries are good, but nothing more. The prices are a little high.

This bakery is characterized by its very good quality. Bread and patisserie are simply to be enjoyed. It is the last remaining bakery and pastry shop in Kandersteg. The service is very friendly and quick. The prices are ok.

Overall it's a great experience here but the service was quite rude today and we waited 40 minutes for fries, which were also frozen.

Every time we are in the area a visit to Marmotte is a must. After countless visits we can't say anything negative. Thank you and see you soon

For years we have always enjoyed coming over after our hikes and cross-country skiing training sessions. The service is always very courteous and very friendly. Since she knows what we consume, we receive the Cola Zero before we order. Which we really appreciate. Thank you. 😊

We had lunch there. Location & playground for children are good. A bit of a small selection when it comes to food, but otherwise good. But the service was quite unfriendly and always ran away before you had actually finished ordering...

Nothing to complain about as far as the breads and croissants are concerned, however in terms of reception... The saleswoman who is already not welcoming at all, then who gets impatient and shakes her head because we ask for one more croissant afterwards that she closed the bag... Never seen that especially since we were the only customers, it's not like we made 20 people wait... I won't go back!

Went here twice on our trip in Kandersteg, delicious both times! The staff was very friendly and patient as we don't speak German. Highly recommend the quiche!

Highly recommended, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service

On the weekend in Kandersteg, we looked for our breakfast in this bakery. A deplorable welcome, barely a look, especially not a smile. We had the misfortune of ordering croissants, then thinking for 15 seconds max if we wanted something else (at no point did the waitress ask us if we wanted something else or if that was all), we completed our order with two additional pieces... the waitress, who had already closed the bag, started shaking her head as if our request was crazy and unwelcome, in total disrespect for her customers. We paid and left, but regret not having had the reflex to simply decline and leave. The language barrier meant that we were not responsive. Dismayed by such lack of professionalism.. If you go there, choose the small shop further away where you can find everything (including breakfast), and where the cashier was most pleasant..

Service has room for improvement

Nice small bakery in Kantersteg with a terras outside. They offer great pastries and we also enjoyed their coffee for a birthday celebration. Recommendable for a stop by.

The ideal place in the village for a small, simple snack (from the attached bakery and pastry shop). It also has a large selection of mountain sports, outdoor and family magazines. I miss national newspapers. And there are no Sunday newspapers either, which is why I usually go to other places.

Waited 20 minutes to order, as the tea room was only a quarter full. Ordered cheese slices, came after 25 minutes, the bread underneath was completely burnt, really black. Service...leaves a lot to be desired.
