I recently stumbled upon Rex bakery during my visit to Zermatt and I couldn't resist trying out their delicious treats. I decided to go for their Cardomom bun and pair it with a ham sandwich topped with a Rex cookie. Let me tell you, it was a mouth-watering experience! The Cardomom bun easily became my favorite at the bakery. The aroma and taste of the cardamom infused in the bun were just divine. I found myself savoring every bite and couldn't help but think about going back to the bakery to experience the freshness right out of the oven. Now, let's talk about the Rex cookie. Hands down, one of the best cookies I have ever tasted in Switzerland. The texture was perfect - crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The flavors were absolutely delightful, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. Lastly, the ham sourdough sandwich. What can I say? The bread used in the sandwich was nothing short of amazing. Soft, fluffy, and full of flavor, it elevated the sandwich to a whole new level. I couldn't get enough of it and wished I could have a never-ending supply. In addition, I also had the opportunity to try their homemade Kombucha and it was fantastic. The refreshing and vibrant flavors of the Kombucha were the perfect accompaniment to my meal. It's evident that Rex bakery takes pride in their craftsmanship and attention to detail. The atmosphere in the bakery was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who were more than happy to assist me in making my selections. The prices were reasonable considering the quality and taste of the food. Whether you're looking for a quick snack, a satisfying sandwich, or a sweet indulgence, Rex bakery has it all. Their Cardomom buns, Rex cookies, and delightful bread will leave a lasting impression on your taste buds. Don't forget to try their refreshing homemade Kombucha as well. Overall, my experience at Rex bakery was simply delightful. The Cardomom bun, Rex cookie, and the remarkable bread used in the sandwich left me craving for more. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone visiting Zermatt. Prepare to be blown away by their delectable treats and top-notch bakery skills.

Although we live in Zermatt most of the year, I have discovered this bakery (via Instagram) only now. I have bought a very delicious bread and focaccia today and will go tomorrow to sample the cinnamon bun with some coffee. The garden looks very nice for a coffee break in the sun! Update the next day: had a great coffee & very tasty bun while sitting in the garden and watching Matterhorn peaking out behind the roofs... Perfect for starting a long hike! Update 2 weeks later: a very warm day so we have really enjoyed the coffee and chocolate muffin in the garden after a hike above Zermatt. The service was very friendly! Just a very nice little place. Coming again soon...

Oh my gosh, my first time in Zermatt and I stumbled upon the most amazing bakery! If you're into sourdough bread, you gotta check out the Hotel Rex's onsite bakery. They have all sorts of options and their freshly baked cinnamon buns, sandwiches, and deli products are totally drool-worthy (perfect for gifts, too!). The staff at the bakery are super friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. And the decor is so chic - I'm totally in love with those pink tiles! Overall, the Hotel Rex's onsite bakery is a hidden gem that you absolutely can't miss if you're into sourdough, pastries, or sandwiches. Their products are top-notch and the atmosphere is just delightful.

Just wow. Probably the best cardamon bun I've ever tried (moist, delicate, with subtle flashes of cardamon, and a crispy top and bottom to round it off).

Best bakery there is. Even checked in another luggage so I can bring some bread home.
