BAO LAB+ in Lac Léman (VD)

A very well decorated restaurant with a view of the lake, very easy to access from the station. I ate very well there and I will come back.

Went with a party of six and everyone loved the food and surroundings.

The service is the most awful that I’ve ever had. Literally the owner of the place, She allows herself a lot. She does not communicate with customers in a formal style, justifying that this place is a fast food restaurant. Although in fact, even for such a place, she allows herself a lot of excess. In particular, she whines, says a lot of unnecessary things, and expresses herself incorrectly even just by etiquette in communication with people. She was saying the stuff as like: “you order too much”, “you drink too much”. At that we moment we wanted to order more, specifically desserts, however, after we decided not to order. We have been the regular guests. But now, all patience has run out. We can’t sit at the place where you want to enjoy the food, but there were a lot of reasons to just go away. Miyazaki, Fuji and all other places is much better in service and guest relations.

Flavourful food that feels fresh to the senses. Great for a quick bite. Very enterprising and flexible in whipping up off-menu items on request. Two thumbs up!

I visited here on my trip to Chillon castle. I’ve been to many sushi/Japanese restaurants in the world. This place had incredible flavour, even their rice was so favourable and delicious. One of the best salmon poke bowls I’ve ever eaten. I’m not from Switzerland and now I am left craving their food unable to get it! Definitely come here if you are wanting some amazing food!

Nice waitress, but unfortunately does not make up for the quality of the sushi which was really bad. Lukewarm rice and fish much too thick, in addition to a very unpleasant aftertaste and two hairs found in my order... very disappointed

I originally came here to support a local asian restaurant but was very disappointed by their service and attitude. Before getting a seat, I asked the owner if it would be okay to charge my phone a little while eating. Although he said yes, he seemed to be unpleased with me charging my phone. While I was at my table, I heard him saying rude things in chinese which they thought I couldn’t understand. On top of all this, they falsely advertised having bubble tea which I was planning on ordering with my food. The maki set was also worse than what you would find at a grocery store and not authentic at all. If the owner sees this, I asked you BEFORE entering your restaurant if I could charge my phone. Don’t say yes, contradict yourself, and make an uncomfortable environment for your customers. I hope you can develop a better attitude so no one has to experience what I did at your restaurant.

Very good small Chinese restaurant close to the Montreux train station.

Dusty food. Wrong order. Don’t call it bao. Better taste a whiff a wind, it has more taste.

Food was average at best, fast food level, service was atrocious and aggressive. Owner (I assume) literally grabbed our credit card out of our hands, didn’t give us a chance (I am talking about a few seconds, not more) to read our bill and to decide what currency to pay in (foreign card with option of CHF and USD - the owner decided for us to pay CHF). When I expressed that we needed a minute and the way she was handling the situation was not ok, she started yelling at us that this was a fast food restaurant, did I not understand that they had no time. Incredibly rude service and yeah, fast food level food at non fast food prices. Ruined our lunch with her awful attitude. I live in Switzerland now, was visiting with friends from abroad, and I’ve lived in a few places around the world… never seen such an insane and over the top reaction to asking for the courtesy of a few beats to see our bill and decide for ourselves how to pay….if I could give negative reviews, I would.

Today is montreux anime festival, I come to the small shop to eat with very warm service. just in time for the boss in the package of bread and dumplings. Send me two Chinese Baos for free. Baos are large and lots of stuffed meat, very delicious. Bubble tea is really good and cheaper than other store. Truly a fantastic experience.

I do not recommend this restaurant to employ not professional and especially the hygiene that you can see through the photo.

In this small store, I experienced the excellent taste, fresh fish, the chef's skillful techniques and the owner's warm service make me think that this is a high-quality Japanese food store worth trying

Sushi is delicious, affordable, and convenient to take out.

Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism, he only gave us 2 Bao instead of 3 but made us pay the same price and it wasn't very good and the gyoza was nothing more.

Authentic Chinese buns and Japanese cuisine. The best in the area.

We come often with my fiancé and his family. There are not many of them (often 1 cook and 1 server) but they always manage to serve us in a very timely manner, even with large orders (which it is better to warn in advance all the same). The sushi is excellent, as are the soups, for a very reasonable price. The decoration is also very pretty and the balcony overlooks the lake. It is even more pleasant to eat there as a couple to enjoy the calm of the place and the beautiful view.

The food is excellent, the employees are very friendly despite some difficulties in French, the sushi is fresh and honestly the best I have ever eaten. I highly recommend

5 star for the environment and the lake view. Service is fast and food comes with decent portion, taste is ok.

We had a great time. Nice dumplings and non-salty Miso soup. Generous pot of tea. Amazing view and soothing music.

The bao are pretty good, but charging 1CHF more when paying by credit card, because “you understand we have fees” is a huge NO. The insistence on making us pay in cash tells me nothing of value about the probity of this establishment. Finally, I would add that the establishment is called bao lab but offers 2 flavors of bao. To tell you, there are more sushi than bao…

Excellent salmon poke with mango, avocado, purple cabbage, and fried onions on top. Beautiful view of the lake with a great breeze coming in at 6 pm

Best sushi and ramen in Montreux without hesitation. Great staff, excellent product quality (Tested and approved every Sunday evening!)

The Xiaolongbao vege are exceptional!

I really enjoyed the Bao Lab! The sushi was excellent! I will definitely stop by again next time I am in town!

The food was very good ! But not very welcoming

I recommend that you avoid their ramen like the plague, these three pieces of meat chasing each other in the cooking water of the noodles themselves are so bland, in short, go look elsewhere if you want ramen because they don't know how to make them at home. them

Very delicious. We had a Poké Bowl with shrimps, some sushi and Gua Baos. Plus they were very friendly.

The ramens are really not great, dry meat and full of fat, broth without any taste, the eggs not really marinated,... the gyozas really not great either, reheated in the microwave in their packaging... to be avoided.

The duck filled baos were freshly made and super delicious! Friendly staff and lovely place right next to the trainstation. We will come back very soon to try the sushi!
