Berggasthaus Mesmer in Schwende

Beautiful mountain restaurant with very friendly and attentive service. This place is perfect for an overnight stay in the middle of the Alpstein so you can get out and about early in the morning before all the day's tourism. The prices are very fair and the Rösti is simply world class, worth walking up the mountain just for. We'd love to come back. Bring change for the showers ;)

Very bad service and attitude from the waiter. For people with lactose intolerance, they don’t offer alternative milk or lactose free milk, and they let you know in a very rude way that this is not possible. The cakes don’t look home made at all.

Very nice mountain inn nestled between two mountains, with a great view of the valley. Rooms / loft are simple but nice. Early reservations are always recommended for overnight stays. Good starting point for great two-day hikes, nice overnight stay a little out of the way. The food is always delicious and the service is quick, uncomplicated and friendly 👍🏼

The world's best Rösti ever with the best view can be enjoyed here! You have to earn money on the walk here, but it's definitely worth it!

We had a 5-pack for the overnight stay. It was neat, the space was ok. The staff was very friendly and the service was very satisfactory! The food is good, home-style. Was very fine. The Mesmer lies on a plain, nestled between two mountain ridges. Beautiful, quiet location to switch off and enjoy.

Mesmer a special place. Compared to other mountain houses, it can't keep up with the all-round view, but that's what makes it special. The climb is steep, the mountain sides are narrow and the mountain inn is wonderful. The hut crew is well organized and the food is delicious. The challenging climb is definitely worth it. We continued on to the shepherd.
