Berghaus Horneggli in Saanen

Great, friendly and uncomplicated service. Very nice and courteous hospitality. Great room with enough space for our group. Food top. Breakfast top, contrary to my expectations in such accommodation. Unfortunately the location is somewhat unfavorable, remote. Overall impression after our stay is very positive. Kind regards and a big thank you to the Horneggli team.

Everything was GREAT! As a group we were allowed to spend the night on the upper floor. All the staff were so friendly. The atmosphere was totally family-like and it was just lovely!

We were able to enjoy food and an overnight stay at Horneggli. The staff was very friendly and fulfilled all of our wishes. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is just great! definitely come back!!

Best restaurant in the entire ski area. Service and food are top, the small in-house Apes Ski Bar, Drunken Deer, has very tasty shots and the barman keeps you entertained. Keep it up.

Unfortunately no cabin magic. The noise from the elevator next door is very annoying. The drinks were still delivered, but you would have to reserve the afternoon for food. 🙄 We then left without food...

The food was good when it finally came... The three of us were there after lunchtime and had to wait 1.5 hours for the first two dishes. When the Älplermagronen and the Schnipo were eaten, there was still no trace of the tarte flambée. When we asked the service, they had a lot to do in the kitchen and only two ovens (the restaurant was half empty). After another 20 minutes the wrong tarte flambée arrived (vegetables instead of bacon) and after a full, or rather hungry, 2.5 hours we finally all had our food. The serving staff was friendly, apologized several times and offered us a coffee afterwards, at least. The tarte flambée had probably been enchanted away by the magic of the hut...

Amazing place for eating amazing cake and drinking a good beer with fantastic view!

Large terrace, directly at the Horneggli mountain station, varied menu

The barley soup tasted good, but was almost lukewarm, but I wouldn't recommend the Huus-Kafi that I enjoyed later to anyone.

We walked up the mountain in a full moon to get here, great experience.

Bit overpriced but it is a ski resort so what do you expect. Location great for a lunch and perfect views.

On a bad weather day, we were the only guests. Service was friendly. Menu is rather short, but dishes are good and quantity is very good.

Nice viewing terrace. Unfortunately, in this sunny and hot weather, there is not enough shade for seating. Recommended as a destination or stopover on the Rinderberg hike. In winter, the starting point for great skiing fun is from Horneggli.

Quite a typical restaurant on the mountain with a beautiful view. The atmosphere is slightly spoilt by the noise of the chairlift but its not critical. My croute was decent but I think the bread was a bit too thick.

The food is excellent. The waiter with the peroxide hair is capable of never bringing me back because he is so rude and rude. To top it off, a bottle of water at 9.90 for “miscellaneous” items on the bill that were never ordered: check it carefully because he doesn’t bring it spontaneously (and we understand why).

Unfortunately it is very close to the mountain station which is very loud and doesn't make staying outside very pleasant. Some staff unfriendly. The selection of food is good and the quality is okay.

Extremely unfriendly service. Actually a nice hut with a great panorama and food. We've always enjoyed staying here over the last few years. Unfortunately this hut is no longer recommended this year. The staff is extremely unfriendly and annoyed. The other guests are also regularly insulted by the staff, for example if they still haven't received any food after 50 minutes.

After asking several times, we still waited 1 hour for service! Unfriendly too. The only good thing is the food, but that's where it ends

We were only served after 1 hour and had to wait 45 minutes for our food and there was nothing to be seen from a cola. We still had to pay for it. The service was rude and we were deliberately left sitting when we wanted to pay because we were so "cheeky" - we actually just wanted to eat something

Hut magic... Since the gastro chain "Hüttenzauber" took over this restaurant, you can always count on friendly service and consistently good food. A strong brand!

Great give 5 stars plus. Conditions at the train station downstairs when boarding are unfriendly and cheeky. I hope the staff will teach these people some decency.

We hiked to Horneggli last Sunday and were looking forward to a delicious iced coffee from the ice cream menu... We waited quite a long time, which wasn't surprising considering the service wasn't particularly experienced and didn't bother us. But when the iced coffees and the two disasters arrived, we were negatively surprised that a restaurant would dare to serve such an obvious impudence! The whipped cream was gone and the puddle underneath was bad tasting lukewarm coffee. There was no trace of ice cream! The service employee wasn't seen for a long time. When paying I pointed out to her that this food was not edible and nothing was heard apart from a helpless stammering... Why do you have to build a restaurant chain if you can't cope with the quality of one restaurant? I have a few friends in my circle who have told me that they have had bad experiences in some Hüttenzauber restaurants. Sadly sad for Swiss gastronomy!

The view of the mountains is magnificent. The hike to Schönried was quite easy and not too steep.

A very traditional place where I already went with my Grandfather when I was a kid. Today a good lunch although the chef is sick. Markus, you can also do it! Your french fries are the best!

Due to COVID currently only take away, very friendly and quick service. The sandwiches are large and received universal praise. We will stop at Horneggli again.

Cozy mountain restaurant invites you to linger.

Every table is dirty and then they serve without cleaning... If you don't ask the staff twice if they would clean. It's a shame... Then they say the table next door was clean... As I said, none of them were clean...

Tables are covered with old dishes, service personnel idle instead of taking something away.

We could only order something to drink. We were there for 45 minutes and couldn't order anything to eat.

Despite having a reservation outside, we sat inside. Waited 1 hour for food, 30 minutes for drinks. You can also eat more food with better taste for less money at other huts

Less good since it belongs to a chain and the service is disgusting. It's truly a shame how badly the waitresses treated us. Arrogant, indolent and rude.

Just the view alone doesn't do it! Unfriendly staff. A sandwich cannot be offered because it is not on the menu. Last but not least, we received an unfriendly comment because a service colleague had mistakenly placed her order on our table. Prices too high.

Has been my lunch place and favourite restaurant for the Drink before last run because great location and nice old house. Now the atmosphere and character has changed. Instead of the traditional name „Horneggli“ it is now called „Hüttenzauber“ - are we in Bavaria or Austria? The old worn out charming wooden tables have been removed and now there‘s cheap pseudo-modern lounge chairs. And the best: we arrive on a sunny afternoon at 4:30 for a drink in the sun before going home - as we did for many many years (>25): guess what, they send us away with an arrogant statement: chief has closed the cashier. Wow - I know this place for 48yrs now; that‘s it, will no longer go. Has turned into a very uncool place, what a shame.

Good food (much more than a snack) and nice view. Very popular, best to book in advance. The only downside is the noise from the nearby ski lift.

Ever since the management this place was taken over by HüttenZauber, the food and service have become abominable. Used to be one of the few nicer places to eat on the mountains, and it is a shame that this is no longer the case.

Well located, comfortably furnished, beautiful view, nice service & prices above the pain threshold: 1x coffee and 0.5l cola by the glass = CHF 10.30.- 😠

Great mountain restaurant in a fantastic mountain world! Nice service and good food! There is also a children's menu. Our boy (7 years old) loved the french fries with schnitzel!

After a hike we were very disappointed that this wonderfully located mountain restaurant had closed. Although the mountain railway next door was in operation.
