Truly a unique experience! The concept is super exciting and the service staff is simply incredible, really strong performance. The food is okay, nothing special, but you go there for the experience and not really for the food.

Very tasteful food! The surprise menu in particular makes it an experience. Our waiter was really very accommodating and we felt extremely comfortable the entire time. However, the volume in the hall was very high, so people had difficulty understanding each other.

The service is impeccable (Anja) Food is always a matter of taste. The meat was good, dessert was delicious. 2dl red wine = 18.90.- The receptionist is definitely the wrong person to be the first, last and overall contact. Unfriendly and no factual introduction. If you've ever missed your school class chairs, look forward to it.

I was there for the second time and it was again very impressive. The food was very tasty and Atilla, who served us, was super nice and helpful.

I don't want to miss this experience. The surprise menu was great (meat). Marco is a great waiter, the atmosphere is “dark” :-). We had a fun evening and had a richer experience without a cell phone... it was great!!!

Great experience, not for every weekend, but you should do it every 10 years. Good planning, great service through Matze, good food and the experience of not being able to eat with your eyes, classify things, and 'criticize' the restaurant ambience is very exciting. The aspect of experiencing what it's like without eyesight is also very exciting and impressive.

A new experience to eat and sit in the darkness

The older lady at reception was extremely unsympathetic and didn't even greet us. It was our first time there and she didn't really explain to us how everything worked. Only when we asked did she give us the information. We thought that maybe she was having a bad day and maybe that was the case, but to our surprise, the next couple were warmly welcomed and everything was explained in detail. When I asked if we had to wait where or if we could go in (just the next step) she was very annoyed. To be honest, I felt discriminated against by her because she was only like that to us... And there was a hair in my food, which I find hygienically unacceptable for the price. The waiter, on the other hand, was extremely friendly, nice and funny. The food was generally okay. Despite the older lady at the reception and the hair in my main course, overall it was a good experience and you should have this experience at least once :)

When we went in we were first in the cloakroom. Then we entered the entrance area. The lady behind the table looked at us briefly, then she looked away again. We looked around briefly and tried to find out what was next, unfortunately without success. I then went back to the lady behind the table and asked what now. She said the first thing she needs is a name. When she checked the reservation and everything was okay, she said we should take a badge and lock our watches and cell phones. No sooner said than done, then I asked again what was next. “So now you have to stand there and wait until XY comes, they can’t see.” Funnily enough, the couple after us were greeted warmly, asked if it was their first time here and what would happen next. Personally, I think the first moments are very important and I was disappointed here. The waiter was very friendly and it was actually completely dark! You couldn't even see your own hand in front of your eyes. The seats were a bit tight; me and my table companion were often elbow to elbow. The food was good, but also “just” good. I would have expected more for the price - but I think at that price you're paying for the experience and it was really very impressive!

I think it's cool to try something new. The money is worth it.

It was really great! The waiters 10/10 The food 10/10, just a great experience. It was a bit annoying that some guests occasionally looked at their cell phones or flashed something else. That didn't completely ruin the experience, but it really wasn't funny either. It takes away a bit of the joy in the moment.

While the food is good, the service is outstanding, the experience of eating in the dark and being served by incredibly kind and skilful waiting staff was great.

Very fun experience and great food.

We went as a family. There is a special children's menu, which also has three courses. We adults had the surprise menu, which was a great experience. Unfortunately our main course was only lukewarm. But the service was top. Experiencing that and using the other senses again is great. At the end we got the solution to the surprise menu.

Very well prepared food with excellent ingredients! Since you sit in the restaurant in the dark and we ordered a surprise menu (it changes every 2 months), we were able to guess what we had eaten as a quiz at the end. Staff, all blind people, were very friendly. You eat with all your senses other than your eyes. Children's menu is also available. You can hear happy voices, but they didn't disturb our conversation at the table.

We had a very impressive, guaranteed unforgettable evening and the staff was super friendly. The only thing I would criticize is the rather high prices. In any case, it is an extremely exciting experience!

We attended a beer tasting and it was a fantastic experience.

It’s fun for 30 minutes but after that it’s only complicated and annoying to be in the dark. You don’t see what you eat or drink, and you don’t see your company.

Through the darkness, you perceive everything even more intensely. You don't see anything. Nothing at all. Very special atmosphere.

The experience depends so much on all the guests. I think that we were unlucky to get a lot of loud guests this time, which seriously harmed the atmosphere. A detailed description of the dishes after trying them would have been nice, to correlate what we thought to reality.

As always, we had a fantastic evening in the blind man's buff. It is an experience that can hardly be described. You completely immerse yourself in the food. The reception is very friendly and the service is just great. I always had the surprise menu and it was fantastic. It's a real joy to taste what you're eating. The portions are also large and you are definitely full. I think price/performance is great. A feast for the senses. I always enjoy coming back.

Great experience definitely worth having. Marco the waiter was very friendly and quickly put us at ease. We would easily give it 5/5 if the 3 "surprise" dishes hadn't reminded me of my worst school canteen memories. Out of respect for future customers as well as the rest of the staff, change cooks!

Food was good, but nothing really special. The experience is an interesting one, especially if you come in good company. The waiters were quite pleasant and considerate, the only thing that felt weird to me was the lady at the entrance that acted surprised and condescending when she found that some of the guests didn't speak German. Seems like a common enough thing in Zürich and not a good reason to look down your nose at people.

Here they ask to add photos...!?!? In short, impossible because we are in a completely dark place...without someone who has been sensitive enough to imagine what a blind person can experience day to day, I would say that this place portrays well the feeling of losing one's sight... for me personally it is something that is worth trying, it is difficult to explain the experience. In relation to the food being bad or good, I just make the observation "and if it was made by someone without full vision, what was the sensation they felt when they sat down and tried to eat?!? comments would be the same or they have to live without eating..” congratulations for me on the idea and thank you for your receptivity at all levels. WORTH THE EXPERIENCE 😉

Something that must be experienced. Belongs in every bucket list. Eating blindly and being able to concentrate entirely on the taste is unique. We had the Surprise menu, where you only find out what you ate afterwards - and can therefore check how good your taste buds are. And best of all: it's also very good. Absolutely recommended. I can't say much about the ambience, it was black. :) but really well done that you can actually get in in the dark. Overall, conceptually cool and well thought out.

Good for them that the restaurant is fully in the dark, because what was in our plate was canteen level. Don't get me wrong: it is not dreadful, but it is also not worth over 100 chf per person for a "surprise menu" consisting of a soup, a mixed leaf salad bathing in sauce, a bit of beef, and an apple strudel. What I think everyone expects from a blind restaurant is to be surprised with textures, temperatures and tastes. I know very few people who primarily go to such a place to experience what it's like to have a disability while eating regular, poor quality food. From my own, personal experience: there was nothing surprising from the surprise menu, and my sense of taste was left as blind as my vision. After a 3 hours long experience from A to Z (only 4 servings), the only thing I wanted was to leave as soon as possible. When it comes to the service, it was ok (maybe too much apologies because "it's a long day"). Although we had to wait at least 30min in a room without chairs before getting seated because some other group was smoking a cigarette. Apparently the restaurant processes and the staff disability don't allow them for sitting people in an order that makes sense to the customers, which is unfortunate. I'm sure they can find solutions.

A really great experience eating here. Everything went smoothly with the reservation, even one more person registered two days earlier. The instructions were great. Our service was very friendly and courteous. It was also exciting not knowing what you would be served. Because you don't have the sense to see, your sense of hearing increases. With the starter it was clear what we were eating. The main course was difficult. The dessert again very simple. I can only recommend everyone to go out for dinner. Thank you for the great evening

I had dinner for two with my partner. We were served by the dear Attila. Our first time in the restaurant was a great and pleasant experience. The food was wonderful. The suprise food, which neither I nor my partner knew about, made it a nice and varied moment. It takes some effort to call for the waiter in a full restaurant. Nevertheless, it worked without any problems. There was also slight laughter when the called table was mixed up. Relaxes the mood. We'd love to come back! :)

Amazing experience. You are really in pitch black. The first 40 seconds was a bit tough (close to panic attack) but then once you are seated and start to observe your surrounding through touching the plates/glasses on the table and listening the others it's a very very interesting experience. The food was average, a bit pricey even, but you pay the experience here mainly. I highly recommend it for everyone to try!!!

I invited my husband to the “Table for Two” at Blinde Kuh as part of my marriage proposal. Matze served us wonderfully, the food was fantastic and the experience was absolutely unique. The experience connects and had exactly the desired effect of a very special atmosphere for me. We are now happily married and still enjoy talking about this very special evening. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to experience the world in a different way!

Very good service and a very exciting experience.

A special experience. Anyone who likes an exceptional culinary experience can definitely go. It's quite expensive, but the food is pretty normal. Dessert was good. The vegetarian main course of the surprise menu contained goat cheese... I personally don't like it. Too special a dish... a shame. Service was very good.

I can hardly find words to describe this unique experience. We were well taken care of right from the start, despite my lactose intolerance and my fears of agarophobia and nyctophobia. We were helped and were able to fully concentrate on all other senses and enjoy ourselves. An unforgettable experience!!! The only thing I would have liked at the beginning was a little more support (from the waitress), as the unfamiliar situation caused some anxiety. However, once you get used to the darkness it is an unforgettable, very exciting experience! And please don't be ashamed to call the waitress if you have to go to the toilet!👍

It was just great and unique 😊 the food was very good. Elisabeth helped us very well and made us feel safe. We put our hands on her shoulders and followed her to the table. All senses except sight can enjoy this experience 100%. Just to recommend it, thanks to the whole team.

I imagined it would be dark, but not that extremely DARK. But it was a wonderful experience and our waiter Matse did a great job, it was a great evening with lots of impressions in all the senses. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was the most amazing experience. With a niece and nephew who will eventually go blind, it was a blessing to see life through their eyes. I think the concept of giving amazing blind people an opportunity as well to excel in their skills is Brilliant!!

A special experience! Very enriching!

We were warmly greeted at reception and informed about what to do next. We were assigned a waiter, Matze, who picked us up at the entrance and showed us to the table very politely and professionally and accompanied us through the rest of the evening. He gave all of us further information about where everything was so that no one had any further questions. The food was delicious and unusual. Vegetarians get alternatives that don't deviate too much from the omnivore menus. So you could still tell each other which ingredients were on the plate during the “Suprise Menu”. vWe would like to thank Matze again, who led us brilliantly through the evening, and the entire Blinde Kuh team.

The food was delicious and the service was super friendly. At first it's really strange when you can't see anything. I wasn't able to cut with a knife and fork. I could only help myself with my hand and fork. Ambience 1 star less because I didn't see it anyway.

Very great place. We were welcomed by Matze himself. He took us to a table where we waited for our food. You don't see anything, which is very interesting. Food was ok, drinks were very expensive at 7.50 for half a liter of water. 4/5 stars

Very unique restaurant where you can experience how it is to be blind. Truly an experience worth doing. The food is also really good. The service is very nice. The only downside. Water is a bit expensive. With 7.5 CHF for 0.5 liter. It’s very pricy.

The experience was amazing and worth going, but the food was.. alright. For the experience, you are essentially in a restaurant with no visibility, no light at all, server by blind and partially blind staff. You have cutlery but you are welcome to eat with your hands :) As for the food, we had a surprise menu, it started with a salad with was pretty bitter and not really special; and then had a broth which had nothing special. The main was undercooked duck which was.. alright, with some boiled potatoes, and we also had a dessert with chocolate which was decent.

Unique experience and only recommended! Price is absolutely okay, if not cheaper than in other fine restaurants. But people go to BlindeKuh mainly for the experience.

We stayed just a little longer than we had planned. But man that was the best steak I've had in a while. Once I'd worked out what it was. Surprise menu ftw.

A place to marvel and admire, but also a place where you have to rely 100% on your ears. A place where maximum concentration is required, but also a sensual place. Enjoyment completely different!

Unreal experience and for everyone but I would advise everyone try it at least once. You will be in pitch black darkness and it will be disorienting at first but you won't experience this anywhere else. The food tastes good even if it gets messy and you'll have no idea if your plate is empty or not.

I'm so disappointed, I was very happy. You place yourself completely in the hands of strangers and this 'power' is completely exploited. Especially you who work with people who have limited vision should understand this best. I told the lady at reception that I didn't want any goat meat, feta, lamb, duck or anything else special, she just said no problem with the 3 course menu, there was nothing special... Yes, okay, but then I ate rabbit and calf gland! Then I had to throw up all evening. I realize that some people like to eat this and that you shouldn't just eat the fillet of an animal, but isn't that my decision?! Thank you for showing me once again what kind of person I don't want to be.

This was an incredible experience. The food was delicious and was so fun to figure out what was in front of you. Our waiter, Matze, was excellent at guiding us through and ensuring our meal was top notch. A new experience being in the dark but loved it!

An absolutely unique experience! I can really recommend it. The first few minutes take a bit of getting used to because everything is really dark. It couldn't get any darker! I think it varies from person to person. The surprise menu is also recommended, as it makes the experience even more exciting. The food was really good, although as we all know, the eye always eats with us, which is logically not possible here. Service is absolutely top! You get better service than in some normal restaurants and from visually impaired staff. A great experience which I find a bit expensive but worth it.

Totally exciting to eat with just your senses of touch. The reception is very friendly. You have to put all your phones and smartwatches there. A blind waitress is responsible for you and leads you into the dark restaurant. It's remarkable how they can serve you without seeing you. Most of the time you don't sit alone because the tables are close together. You can then listen to what the others are saying. You shouldn't tell too much about private things. We ordered the 3-course Suprise menu for around 80 CHF. You don't know what you're getting. They are available with meat or vegetarian. At the end you can find out what you ate. Great experience. The food was simple and delicious.

Already here for the 2nd time. Very unusual and instructive.

A thrilling experience. At first it feels uncomfortable being in this complete darkness but you get quickly get used to it, and know where are your cutlery for instance, your plate and your glass. The waitress was amazing, walking around and serving us our food and drinks. The food was good, we had the surprise menu and went there as part of a company's dinner event. Overall I liked it and found being in the dark somehow relaxing. Be careful to not fall asleep though!

It was an incredible experience that I almost fell on the spot! Everything was black, we couldn't see anything at all! Thrills guaranteed if you're not used to complete darkness. Very good spaghetti bolognese and chocolate mousse! I recommend !

We went to dinner at Blindenkuh one evening in December. What was special about this evening was that a crime dinner was being held there and people were entertained with a play between courses. We were greeted very nicely and instructed. We were then taken to our table. What an experience! I never thought I could do without my sense of sight while eating. Pouring water in particular was a challenge, but we were able to master it well. The food was excellent! The entertainment and service were also very good. We'd love to come back! :)

The food was ok, but did not meet the expectation justifying the price. The atmosphere was very noisy as people talked very loudly and this made the dining experience nerve-racking rather than enjoying the darkness. In addition, we shared a table with other guests and were very close to them. They kept coughing making us very uncomfortable. The guest next to me put arm on my placemats and even mistook my partner's glass. The intention of the reastrant was great but could have been more considerate regarding the setup to make the dining experience better.
