Unfriendly, inflexible, quality of the food leaves something to be desired (snails tasted rotten)! 1x and never again! Better go to the kebab in the neighborhood! And Cordon Bleu there are x restaurants in Zurich that are 1000x better!

We were in this restaurant again. We wanted to have a leisurely aperitif and enjoy an appetizer later. We sorted it out with the waitress. We sat there and wanted to talk. Suddenly, without any questions and without a starter, Börni came with the fondue pan and wanted to put the pan down. We said that we had agreed to have an appetizer first. Börni said condescendingly and arrogantly that he only had a limited amount of pans and that we should eat now. We didn't agree with them and it seemed to us as if we now had to "eat" whether we liked it or not. Naughty style! We will never go here again. After the aperitif we paid and left. Serving girl was nice.

Yesterday we went to Börni's Baizli for the first time. We liked it very much. There is a large selection of Cordon Bleus (400 gr.) We 4 people have never eaten such super fine Cordon Bleus anywhere, the filling and breading are simply brilliant, and the fries 🍟 and croquettes are simply great 👍👍. Highly recommended, we will stop there again! The service was also very nice.

Yesterday I went for a game of Jass in Börnis Beizli with work colleagues. We were the first to arrive and the last to leave. We enjoyed very good home-style cooking, felt comfortable and had a great time. Rarely have I experienced such a successful evening in a restaurant. The service is top, the pricing policy is very reasonable. Am I coming back? In any case. Börni's Beizli is a treasure of the gastronomic landscape.

Unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations.

We have often been to Börnis during the week, when the restaurant is not very busy. We actually appreciate the rustic bar atmosphere and the cordon bleu is good. Unfortunately, we were treated so unkindly today on this Saturday that we won't be going there anymore. It was quite busy and we asked for a table. We didn't push for it in any way. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't give any clear feedback as to whether a table would become available. She asked in the kitchen why we were waiting at the door. Then Börni shot out of the kitchen and pushed us out of the restaurant, saying it was full and whether we didn't understand German. Even though the kitchen is stressful, that's just not the way to deal with customers. We were there often and were always polite and had the impression that we now knew each other and appreciated our visits. Therefore, we are simply disappointed as a human being.

Extremely unfriendly boss. Food average. The service lady tried her best to compensate for the boss's unfriendliness. Unfortunately not possible with such arrogance and ignorance.

We were very happy to eat raclette with my partner again, but we were immediately surprised by a group who were very loud and were making out at the table!! And the owner or the employees didn't even want to warn the group! When we left after 30 minutes because I had a migraine because of the noise and couldn't stand it anymore. The owner asked if everything was good, then I said that the food was ok but the noise level was unbearable... He said what volume and when I pointed out the group he said they were the guests!! and it was also very loud, so it was definitely too much for me. I just meant that we are also guests who have paid and will never come here again because of his behavior! Best regards I really wouldn't recommend it to you

we got into the restaurant (3 adults 2 kids) at around 6pm when the restaurant was pretty empty. The owner said all 5 of us have to order fondue and can’t order other things to try. Then she proceed to say the fondue has alcohol so not suitable for kids… we pretty got turned away. So so rude… I saw pictures on google review and people ordering other things! I don’t know why they would discourage us from dining there when the restaurant was half empty. The male owner (or worker) was also short tempered and didn’t want to talk to us.

Very fine cheese fondue with several types of cheese. Good and suitable wine selection. Friendly service. Nice pub with a suitable ambience to make you feel good. Authentic, honest, good.

Ordered tap water but was forced to give a very small bottle of water for 6.50 Swiss francs. That old lady shouldn't be so greedy in business. Please prepare a drink menu for customers, otherwise this is a restaurant full of fraud.

This is a true gem in the neighborhood! It is owned by the sweetest and funniest man around. He was nice enough to make us fondue in the summer when it’s a winter food with unlimited bread and so many fun veggies and fruit to dip in. He also made us a custom salad. All while making jokes and refusing to charge us for what we didn’t consume. Absolutely visit if you can!

The best Cordonbleus in Zurich! What a great restaurant where you feel like royalty as a guest! 😍 Even on my first visit I was treated like a regular guest. Since I took the fine Cordon Bleu home, I got a discount and a free beer while waiting, despite the already extremely low prices. Combined with the casual conversations with Börni and his interesting guests, it's always worth a visit!👍 I'm thrilled!

one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. Fondue was great! The service was very good and fulfilled a request from a colleague of mine. She wanted a pear for her fondue. The restaurant didn't have these on hand and bought one across the street so that my colleague could have a pear with the fondue. Top service, I can only recommend.

Although every seat was full, the food was great and the service was always very friendly. Very good price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, when it's cold outside, it's sometimes a bit "fresh" at the tables near the entrance.

Amazing cheese fondue! Very welcoming and great recommendations for meals. Definitely would recommend this restaurant. If visiting Zurich this is a great place to have authentic Swiss fondue !

The fondue was pretty good, the service friendly also. However, the owner was incredibly rude, accusing us of bringing our own water to the restaurant. Our visitor from abroad had bought the water bottle to bring back to his hotel afterwards. Even though putting it on the table may have been a mistake, a simple request to remove it would have sufficed. Instead, we got a prejudiced tirade against foreign tourists, along with immediate threats to kick us out, even though we were perfectly willing to remove the bottle, had not drunk from it, and even apologized (repeatedly). I know life as a restaurant owner can be stressful, but this is not an excuse for frankly indecent behavior towards guests. I would not bring visitors here again.

Very "strange" catering regulations: every guest must order at least one main course. No matter how hungry or not hungry the guest is. Perhaps this only serves to ensure that every guest notices how the boss shouts at his employees in the kitchen and thus communicates to everyone that the food is clearly prepared poorly. ... Anyway: the taste wasn't overwhelming, but it was okay. (We had cheese fondue and a - forced - raclette)

Six of us had fondue for the first time today. We found the food, the service and the owner to be very pleasant, friendly and fine.

It's a small place that makes you feel like home as soon as you sit down. I highly recommend the fondu, was drooling now just thinking about it. I'll definitely go back. The people working there are very friendly as well as the owner. I'd give more stars if I could 🌟

Börnie is a very warm and competent host. He knows how to make his guests feel welcome. I went there with my friend who is unable to eat bread. No problem, she was served potato. In fact our fondue was served in two Caquelons so I could have bread. We even got s complimentary Luzerner Chrüüter Schnaps!!! Thank you Börnie x

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. The other day I went to dinner with my partner at this restaurant, since we had been once before and we liked it. We would like to highlight the rude and unfriendly behavior of the chef, starting with his surprise when we arrived, since according to him we had booked with very little notice (which is true, we booked on their website half an hour in advance, but if you don't like it, you can do that, modify the possibility on the web to do it with such short notice). Next we ordered a fondue to share for one person (28 francs, the same dish we ordered the previous time on his recommendation, since he told us that for two it was too much), accompaniment for the fondue (pickles, 6 francs) and a starter of 26 francs. The waitress who served us told us that the chef had told her that the fondue had to be for two. We explained to him that we didn't mind paying more, but that we weren't that hungry. After this, the chef came out of the kitchen and with very bad manners told us that we had to order the fondue for two people. Since he was quite rude and impolite, with manners that left a lot to be desired, we decided to go somewhere else. It's a shame that the owner himself generates a bad image of his own business for 28 francs (which we were also going to pay).

What a wonderful place. The person serving us as well as the owner were extremely sweet. He made us feel extremely welcome. A very homely vibe and lovely food. We had the fondue which was wonderfully nice and rich and the Swiss wine combined with it made it even more appetizing. A must visit for sure!! :)

Börni is a delightful personality. He runs the front and back of the restaurant by himself (at least tonight)... Charming and quirky. He made sure we didn't over-order (thoughtful!) The fondue was very traditional and high quality and the pork schnitzel was extremely tasty. Börni gave generous pours and a digestif after dinner. Great beer and wine, nice authentic casual atmosphere, definitely worth it for traditional Swiss dinner!

Our favorite place we ate at while in Switzerland! The raclette and fondue were delicious, and Börni was simply the kindest host ever!! Next time we’re back in Switzerland we will be coming back here, without a doubt.

The restaurant was recommended to me and I have no reason to doubt the recommendation or the cuisine. However, it is annoying and a shame when the opening times on the homepage and those on the door do not match. Nothing happened except expenses!

This place is an absolute gem. Local spot just outside of the city serving up home cooked meals. The owner does everything from cooking to bussing the tables. His love of what he does shows. Order the fondue. It’s a delicious concoction of 6 different cheeses some of which are local specialties that you just can’t find anywhere else. (Ask the owner he lights up with passion when you ask him about it!). Anyway I highly recommend and will return when I’m back in town.

Very friendly and funny, also courteous and attentive. The food was really delicious, we had the Cordon Bleu with croquettes and the portion was just right for me, a very hungry man. Great meat, delicious cheese and plenty of ham. Can only recommend the restaurant. Thank you for the delicious food and the great service.

We spent a very lovely evening here and had the special Fondue, which was amazingly tasty. Also had the meat platter and Nüssli salad and they were both spot on. Service was impeccable, very friendly and attentive and no wish seemed too much. A great selection of Swiss food, I highly recommend this place! Needless to say that we will be back here on our next visit!

The owner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We ordered the fondue and chicken cordon bleu and both were amazing. It was our first night in Switzerland and it set a great mood for the rest of the trip.

Unfortunately, he rejects online orders (CHF 75.00, takeaway) without giving reasons. Then he shouldn't offer this option either.

It was awesome! Borni the owner was just about the nicest guy we met on our whole trip! The fondue was delicious and authentic! I ordered the Hawaiian cordon bleu and that was delicious! Go here and you won’t regret it!

Good Baizli. The Cordon Bleus are fine but too big for a “normal” person. I would be happy if you could choose between different sizes (M-L-XL...). Luckily you can take your leftovers home with you, but at least... Unfortunately the fries are not homemade. The prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately the fondue was a disappointment. It tasted so much like wine that children couldn't eat it. The chef seemed snotty and didn't care at all about the criticism. We cannot recommend the restaurant more highly. The points of criticism are even omitted from the answer. No respect for customers!

We arrived at 9:30 p.m. and asked if the kitchen was still open. The manager welcomed us kindly. We ordered two cordon bleu (400g pork fillet heart) with homemade rösti croquettes. The food was incredible for a more than fair price. The atmosphere was very friendly and the manager took very good care of us. Always smiling, even when she hit the table hard. We recommend 👍
