After all the feedback on WenPage, I had slightly higher expectations. Baked goods and coffee were correct. The atmosphere is rather bourgeois and the service is not particularly enthusiastic about the work or particularly attentive to the customers.

I love this store. I go there about 3 times a week for Silser sandwiches. Always friendly and always delicious. A little hint. With the schnitzel breads Vlt. think about the recipe. I don't find the cocktail or mayo sauce that tasty, but it's also a matter of taste.

Absolutely freshly prepared, wonderful aperitif pastries; The Speckgugelhopf is the best in Basel anyway. Amaretti was a new discovery. Crisp on the outside, soft and bittersweet on the inside. Guests and hosts were thrilled. Thanks

A very fine "Begg" baker, of which unfortunately there will soon be no more. Absolutely recommended. There is the whole range here: from bread to Schwöbli and Schlumbi to cakes, tarts and patisserie.

Austrian and Swiss baking traditions mix here. The Kipferl/Gipfli are great.

We particularly recommend the Sunday Pastetli and the Mini Morenkopfs, a good combination with Jakob's Basler Leckerly.
