Vito is good. Vito Gundeli is better.

Eat: Very fine pizza slices available in different sizes. Open all day. Service: Self-service concept - in my opinion, the reception at the pizza counter could have been a little more friendly. But generally friendly staff Location: Simply but comfortably furnished - always busy in the evenings, I would recommend making a reservation. Conclusion: Top pizzas for a short stay - always good. We recommend.

If you want to experience the pleasure of pizza in a new way, this is the right place for you. The dough is amazing, the choice of toppings is varied and for every taste, including vegetarians and vegans. The price is high but justified.

Good pizza but opening times are too short for business travellers.

It's good for Korean tastes. It cost about 35 euros, enough for two stuck pizzas, one beer, and a meal.

Vito's Gundeli in Basel, Switzerland is a really cool pizzeria specialising in one metre long pizzas - You can choose two or three different choices, we had the spicy salami and the Mediterranean veg combo which was excellent - even though they showed fully booked online when I phoned them they were able to take us - so don't always go with the online info. The restaurant is located very close to the exit/entrance to Basel SBB train station, on the Güterstrasse side. From there it can be reached in just a few steps. There is seating available in the restaurant. The space is rather tight. The pizzas are constantly prepared fresh. I found the ingredients used to be fresh. As always, I really enjoyed the pizza. They make the dough themselves. Here it is possible to put together a pizza yourself or order a slice, a third or even a whole meter of pizza (the meter pizza is ideal if you are eating with several people - so everyone can have a piece of everything). You can also get home-made drinks here. And for those who are in a hurry: here you can also order pizzas, pick them up and take them with you directly (just like at the smaller "offshoot" on the train station passarelle. I always like to come back here.

There were three of us and we were really excited. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. By the way, the house iced tea is also really tasty. Overall, definitely worth a visit, either to stay or to-go. We'll definitely be back :)

Definitely one of the best pizzerias in Switzerland! (Not just in Gundeli☝🏻) Great pizza, great wine, even the tap water is good, the glasses don't stink of eggs/wet dogs (which is rare!), great atmosphere/decor, great service! What more do you want? When I once visited the branch in Zurich, an employee there spoke to me and said that I was often a guest at the branch on Klybeckstrasse in Basel - how fantastic is that? I was very happy!

The pizzas are very tasty, the price is reasonable and you eat enough from one piece. There is a large selection: many vegetarian or vegan pizzas are also available. It doesn't take long for the pizza to warm up, and you can also top your own pizza if you choose a whole one. Highly recommended.

I think the quality of the pizzas has decreased significantly. For the reasonable price, the toppings are quite poor and the selection is not always the same. We will be looking for other pizza restaurants in the future.

From the salad to the pizza to the tiramisu: it was all very tasty. The service was also super attentive, quick and friendly. We will be back.

A very small pizzeria in the Gundeli of Basel. The pizzas are made from fresh products which you can really taste when you eat them. The space in the swlbst restaurant is a little tight. There is hardly enough space for a 1m pizza at a table for two. The staff is friendly and prompt.

Fast, fresh, tasty and at a fair price

Reserved a table online at the beginning of the week. When we arrived at the restaurant, it quickly became apparent that the reservation had been lost. We were then assigned the least conveniently located table right at the entrance. Cold draft, queue at the pizza counter, etc. The staff was pretty passive and not exactly accommodating. When I asked a waitress if she could call the branch on Aeschenplatz and ask if we could have a table there, she replied that I could do it myself. The staff simply didn't care that a reservation was lost. We then decided to go to the VITO branch on Aeschenplatz. Completely different experience, everything was very nice and there was also space. But the Gundeli branch is disappointing, is avoided and no longer recommended, which is a shame because I had a positive image up until now. This can happen because of the botched reservation (even though I received a confirmation email); But the fact that the staff is completely indifferent is not acceptable...

I love this place! The pizza tastes amazing and the staff is super friendly. Although the prices are a bit high for me (student), I still enjoy their food very much.

Unfortunately, the vegan pizzas are very monotonous and not special. I really like the Vito, but please increase the vegan offering.

Pizza was great as always. Unfortunately the service was super unfriendly! Not once asked if you wanted something to drink or coffee/dessert. We weren't even greeted when we came in and there were additional drinks on the bill that we didn't consume. The tables in Vito Gundeli are either right at the door at the front or extremely narrow at the back. Service used to always be top, but unfortunately we have now encountered unfriendliness from individual service specialists on several occasions. A pity! Better to pick up pizza and eat at home or go somewhere else for the future…

Not all pizza is the same! VITO has innovatively developed this simple dish. The pizzas come “by the meter”, i.e. in an oblong shape. If you are a group, order a “meter pizza” and choose up to three different toppings. There is also a wide selection for vegetarians and the dough is simply perfect! Pizza is available to take away or to enjoy in the restaurant itself. There is always a lot going on at lunchtime and in the evening. So you better reserve a table. This worked out great for our group of five. We found the concept of choosing and sharing pizza together to be “community building.” Our only suggestions for improvement: plates wouldn't be a bad idea and the music was too loud for our taste. You couldn't have a good conversation.

Very high quality, very good pizzas AND nice, friendly staff.

When I felt like having a piece of pizza again, I went to Gudeli in Vito. I was greeted very unfriendly by a bald man who gave me an angry look as soon as I came in. I wanted a menu with everything, but he couldn't get it.!?! Then it got too stupid for me and I left. The gentleman shouted loudly and aggressively after me, and then he even came out onto the street, then I drove away as quickly as possible because I was scared. It's a shame, I always enjoyed being there!!

The staff were very nice. One guy patiently explained how the pizza sizes work. Four of us went for dinner and had 4 different 1 slice pizzas followed by a tiramisu and a brownie for desserts. Brownie was dry and could have been moist. Rest were all excellent.

Vito generally makes very good pizzas. Service very friendly, but a bit stressed due to the high number of visitors. Vito Gundeli is small and has no windows at the back, which makes it a bit restrictive.

A casual place for hanging out with friends and eating great pizza. You buy the pizza by the slice, either a big or a smaller piece. I usually go for two small pieces so that I can try two different pizzas. The dough is amazing, soft inside, nice crust and fantastic taste! You can have each slice topped with freshly grated parmiggiani, rucola and chili oil if you want. Prices are absolutely reasonable, too! Tip: They sell the dough if you want to make your own pizza at home!

Supposedly the best pizza in Basël. It was recommended to us by a local man who grew up in Italy, and it was indeed delicious pizza, crispy dough, and wonderfully selected flavors. A must-have.

Went to the Vito for the first time on Saturday May 27th, 2023. At first I was a bit confused by the menu, but the friendly service informed us very well. A pizza pleasure of a different kind. When in the film The Godfather, we are placed near Vito Corleone. We don't imagine that name evokes one of the best flavors in pizza outside of Naples candles. Good service, fast attention, and delicious oval-shaped pizzas

As any other VITO is a good place for having a slice of pizza. Maybe a bit overpriced for being pizza, but I challenge you to find better quality/price pizza in Basel.

The food as always is simply great and the presentation was also on point. The quantity was very generous and the flavors delicious. We really enjoyed our time there too. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I ordered a half and then a whole one was made. In response to my confusion, an unfriendly comment was made that there were only thirds here. I then got two quarter pizzas, one of which was the wrong kind. We then left with a drink that was also wrong. Pizza was great. Actually 2 stars but I want my rating to have more influence. Very nice place where you can feel the "Italianness" of those who work and manage it. Good with cocktails, wide choice of beers and excellent pizza, especially for the choice of quality ingredients. To try!

As always, the pizza arrived quickly and was very good. As befits everyone, the leftovers were given to us in a pizza box. Online reservation worked perfectly.

I can warmly recommend it. Very tasty food. Has something for everyone. Whether everyone orders something for themselves or together. Here, eating becomes an experience. The staff is friendly, the furnishings are simple but still comfortable and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right.
