Brezelkönig in Basel

I'm not really someone who is quick to give bad reviews, but I've always had the impression that this location was a bit stingy with sauce, but today I got a planted curry without sauce. Unfortunately I only noticed it on the train. Definitely the last time at this location. Other locations are significantly better. (e.g. Basel Market Square)

Pretzels are very good, but prices have doubled dramatically. No card payment accepted, often no receipt for purchases... Makes you skeptical

Unfortunately one of the worse pretzel kings, ordered a raclette pretzel, unfortunately you had to look for the raclette cheese and that for 4.50 - unfortunately no.

I come by every Thursday at closing time (10:15 p.m.) to pick up something to go and every week I am served very friendly by the same lady! The food is always delicious and that's why I'll stop by again and again! Can highly recommend it :-)

I was there yesterday to buy a tuna baguette. Tell me it's sold out! It's only 4:00 p.m. and Brezelkônig is open until 11:00 p.m.?? The next day I went again and it was sold out again? This can not be! The BrezelKönig has been out for 2 days and is out of tuna on the weekend. Plus cheeky employees with cheeky answers. Something needs to change quickly at brezelkönig SBB Basel. It wasn't like that before!

Was in the Basel SBB today. For the umpteenth time, I am not ordering one Unfortunately, when you bite into the sandwich you realize it's not fresh. (not soft). I go to Brezelkönig because I want to eat a fresh, soft chicken sandwich and I'm willing to pay a little more for it. Instead, at 4 p.m. I had a very hard Silserbrot with a tomato sticking out that looked like the sandwiches had already been prepared in the counter since the day before. In addition, there is a lot of the cocktail sauce and you can't see it, unfortunately the sandwich is even drier. I have to say I'd rather go to the Coop and buy a sandwich there that isn't freshly made, but at least it's softer and cheaper. Possibly set up several preparation stages throughout the day. Instead of having the whole counter full and then selling the customer a sandwich that is no longer fresh. Next to it you have a shop that makes things that are 1m long (not to mention them by name) and you always get it fresh and you're always asked if you want it warmed. Maybe cut off a slice of it and integrate it into yours.

Great pretzel. I just think it's a bit of a shame that there are no more sesame pretzels. Price a bit expensive but ok for what you get.👍🏻

What I find very sad is that I bought 2 pretzels shortly before the store closed. I asked the saleswoman if they weren't half the price, unfortunately she said no. I asked when will they be disposed of? You as an answer tomorrow. It's a shame that these don't automatically cost 50% shortly before closing time. You have to order it from to good to go. In any case, throw it in the trash tomorrow If the lady had been nice and given me 50% I would have bought more but oh well Well, even with to good to go you get as little as it says on the amount. At certain stores you definitely get more than what is advertised. But you would rather throw away food than make people happy. Why biogas? Who do you have people who would have liked to have bought it?

The ideal place to buy an authentic pretzel. I find the Brezelkonig butter one particularly delicious. Regarding the attention, it seemed a little abrupt to me. The staff were clearly in a hurry. In any case, this is to be expected for a place in a train station.

On the way to Frankfurt am Main, I was at the Brezelkönig Basel SBB, what really impressed me was the service, even though there were a lot of customers in front of us, the service was very fast, I particularly noticed the lady Bayik very positively, How can you be quick and give the customer a beautiful smile at the same time! A few weeks ago I bought a pretzel with ham and cheese at the main station in Zurich. When I took it out of the fridge the next day and unwrapped it, I bit into it and had a hair about 20-25 cm long in my mouth. I took a photo of it and used the Brezelkönig feedback form. So the case is documented. To date, however, there has been no response! I think that's absolutely weak. It was absolutely disgusting and I almost threw up. Apparently the hygiene at Brezelkönig isn't that great. I will never buy anything there again and will no longer be able to do positive advertising for Brezelkönig.

I wanted a raclette pretzel and she gave me one with cheese but not the one with raclette! Unfortunately I only noticed this on the train. So I was able to throw it away because 1. it wasn't raclette cheese (I don't eat any other cheese) and 2. because it was cold! I usually always eat the raclette pretzel at Brezelkönig, but unfortunately my experience in Basel was bad! Thanks for nothing unfortunately :(

UPDATE: I have not received a response to my email(s) after the reply here and have not received a refund to date! Despite asking, I was essentially given 10€ for a pretzel bar with cheese that costs 7.90CF and got 1.10CF back. That doesn't work, according to the current exchange rate. When asked, they just said, yes, the euro is more expensive. Google says I got 2CF back. 🧐 The whole thing was around 5:30 a.m. today

Last Sunday I had a stopover here during my trip. Got a chicken hot dog here, a bit expensive, but otherwise fine. When I was sitting on a bench next to the tent, another traveler became ill, I offered to pick up some water for the couple and since I had just gotten a sandwich here, I thought I could get a cup of water for the sick person. Madam. But there was no sign of humanity at this tent, in addition to the fact that the staff did not care at all that someone was sick, they also claimed that they had no water from the tap. Afterwards I wondered how the staff who worked with food washed their hands, but that is besides the point. I only had to buy a bottle of water for 3.5 francs for the lady, so I did that. What an inhumane thing, more concerned with their own turnover than just thinking along with their fellow man.

Overpriced, but good quality. It is what it is... A good but expensive bakery at the station, so your last chance to grab a quick snack.

I regularly buy a coffee from Brezelkönig before I get on the train. The staff is extremely unfriendly and the cup is often half empty. I also have the Brezelkönig app and should get the large coffee for the price of a regular one. This also works in all other branches, except in Basel. Either I have to fight for it or I have to pay the full price. I will avoid the Brezelkönig in Basel in the future. I don't want to support a branch where customers are treated as if they were an imposition!

I actually love Brezelkönig But putting open food away without gloves is a no go for me!

We love the variety of pretzels, at least at lunchtime, which are always fresh, well-baked and also reasonably priced.

Before I left today I bought a sesame pretzel from the Brezelkönig and I have to say that it was the best pretzel I have ever eaten. The name says it all: fresh, wonderfully tasty dough and covered all over with sesame. Yummy! And there is absolutely no comparison to the almost always bad pretzels that you get in Germany. I'm happy to pay a little more for quality. It's a shame that I'm rarely in Switzerland.

I like the products, the cream cheese silserli is absolutely delicious, but I feel rejected by the staff. I said a friendly goodbye and wished you a nice weekend. Nothing came back.

Very friendly, tasty and fair prices. But I thought it was great that the gentleman at the service put the sugar, the stirring stick and the lid straight into and onto the cup. That's what makes it. Unfriendly and unmotivated staff. Was there on January 12th, 2021 at 4 p.m. It's a shame because the pretzels are delicious.

Unfriendly and annoyed staff, you feel unwanted as a customer. Products are not fresh, the pretzel was hard and wrinkled, there was hardly any salt left and unfortunately not the first time. I will avoid this branch (Basel SBB) in the future.

I came today, December 6th. around 3:10 p.m. and wanted to get a vegan sandwich. The saleswoman had no idea what she had in stock. Vegan was foreign to her. Shouldn't the employees know WHAT they are selling and especially know vegan and vegetarian as terms?

Long wait and at the end a pretzel made from half raw dough. Unfortunately it was only discovered on the train that it was a case of the rubbish bin. Should never have been sold like that.

I often get something to eat here. Great quality and competent staff. For the price you get really good products here.

Very good pretzel and vegan sandwich!

I was always satisfied with the products and their quality during my visits to the Brezelkönig at the SBB train station in Basel. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the friendliness of the employees. Sometimes you don't even get a "good morning" or a "thank you", but are processed like a product on a conveyor belt. This way I could get my food straight from the shelf at Migros.

Unfriendly staff who can hardly speak German and are completely overwhelmed when there is a short queue. Pretzel otherwise ok as usual

The hot dogs are very tasty and for 5.50 fr. Also very cheap for train station conditions. In my opinion, you can also get the best coffee at the train station at Brezelkönig plus fast service.

I paid 7.50 CHF for a bread that was completely dried up and with perished salad and dried cheese. When I pointed out the issue, I was told that it was due to the fridge and my bread was not replaced...That bread landed in the trash bin after one bite. It's the last time that I will visit Brezelkoning.

If you need a quick snack, pop in for the hot dog for 5.5chf. Cannot get any better value for this, especially if you are on the run and want something hot. Served in a bretzel like hot dog bun with the sausage stuffed in side. Ask with ketchup and mustard and your on your way.

Get the pretzel, you cant leave without getting a good old salty pumpkinseed pretzel.

I got a pretzel with sunflower seeds that didn't even have a quarter of the "normal amount" of sunflower seeds in it. I would have just as easily gotten an original pretzel, it would have been salted and I would have even saved money. I am very disappointed.

Today I only received a small original pretzel...I expect the normal size for Fr. 3.50. Unfortunately, this was only discovered at home. The best pretzels are only available in Chur anyway. They are always crunchy/crunchy and fresh. That's why I don't buy pretzels in Basel anymore. There is enough choice at other shops in the SBB station.

Beautiful, newly designed sales area. I like BK's pretzels best and I've never had a better one. By the way, you can find great combination menus here.

Pretty solid pretzels here, with an interesting array of toppings and fillings. Not a bad option for a quick lunch during a connection.
