We have been going on ski holidays to Zermatt for a few years and at least once we eat at the Rest. Riffelberg for lunch and several times we enjoy coffee, tea and cake for a snack. The food is very tasty and varied. The cakes and tarts are very tasty. Good price-performance level.

They say it can always be worse! But I don't believe it in this case. Dry, bad food, way too expensive. Very, very, very unfriendly Eastern European staff. I don't really care about nationality. But maybe the boss can react before the employee causes more damage.

One star is still too many. The line to pay was so long, the bratwurst and fries were cold. The barley soup was just water. White wine and beer were warm. Truly the worst self-service restaurant we have ever visited. Never again.

Very chaotic, rather poor and industrial tasting food, staff rude.

Self service to avoid. Incredibly high prices. 7fr a bottle of pet 5dl, 7.90 fr a very small cake. 5.10 fr hot chocolate. Expensive and very average food.

Too expensive for ski resturant on a mountain and food not made too good. Basic street food in prices of good dinner resturant. Missing taste and better preparation. Dont take the brisket.

The service attitude is very good. The items are the cheapest here. The price/performance ratio is very high.

Pretty standard Swiss food that is way overpriced

In the middle of a long day of skiing, we decided to stop for something to eat at the Riffelhaus hotel restaurant. Miguel made our experience fabulous: He introduced us to the different options, explained to us about Swiss customs, and gave us outstanding attention. Great experience! We recommend for anyone skiing in Zermatt. We will be back! Thank you!

Terrible terrible food! The quality is so poor and you pay so much. A bottle of water is 7chf!!

Actually a nice place to stay. Lots of space and delicious food. In my opinion, the price for just 7 chicken nuggets is too high at 13.90 SFR.

Fantastic view on Matterhorn, quite decent food, very affordable prices by Zermatt standards. I took schnitzel (very generous portion) and a bottle of cider, paid 35 francs.

Nice views, windy, there is a toilet, wine and beer for sale. Near the railway station.

Directly at the station, very practical and offers plenty of space outside and inside. Good selection of simple and traditional daily dishes. The food is tasty and the staff is very friendly.

Reasonable price and BEAUTIFUL views of Zermatt. My personal favorite spot on the mountain. Lots of inside and outside seating.

For years we have stopped by several times a month during the ski season for coffee or soup. We usually have a coffee at the bar because the service there is always the same (excellent and very nice). The barley soup is also very good.

Steep prices but it’s expected knowing the location and altitude. However the food was a bit more qualitative than your usual ski resort altitude buffet. Lot of indoor and outdoor seating.

We arrived with 50 students to eat for a week for a camp, we were welcomed just perfectly. The boss is really nice and accommodating. We will be back soon and we look forward to

Great for stopping off with a view of the Matterhorn. Yeast dumplings were great; my daughter ate spaghetti bolo three times (which were also great); Pulled pork burgers were also great. We can recommend

Excessively pricy given the quality of food - everything is precooked and warmed while still a pasta is 20eur/chf. great view on Matternhorn and lot of table to enjoy the sight.

A completely normal buffet, like on any other ski slope. No better and no worse.

Very poor quality of dishes and crazy expensive. A mineral water CHF 6. A dish of a cold rösti and dry schnitzel CHF 33. If they are going to charge this much, they should increase the quality or reduce them.

When I was looking for a yeast dumpling, I finally found it here! Filled with plum mousse and vanilla sauce and poppy seeds/powdered sugar as a topping 😍 Great taste - nice service!

The views are great. This is a cafeteria style lodge where you pick your own food. The today’s special was fantastic (lamb leg, polenta and grilled veggies for 27chf). It was a great deal compared to the 20chf pastas and sausage with fries. No idea what the general quality of the specials are over time.

Delicious! Ate here multiple times during our holiday! 4/7 days we had lunch here! The briskets delicious and so is the chicken! Highly recommend as a spot to stop for lunch! Lovely food, staff and views.

Very clean, nice staff. The chef was available for a nice exchange. What I liked best was the selection of freshly prepared dishes. Prices are absolutely reasonable for Swiss standards. We would like to come again.

Nice view, nice food, nice people

Located just below Riffelberg Station, you can see the Matterhorn on a clear day, and it's not cold unless there's a wind, so the terrace seats are popular in both summer and winter. You order what you want to eat, take it as you go, and then pay the bill at the end. Bread is 7.5CHF for sandwiches and 3.5CHF for butter pretzels. The salad bar costs 10.9CHF for a small plate and 18.9CHF for a large plate. There were 4 types of soup. Barley soup contains whole barley, which is great for Japanese people when they miss rice.

Arrival in large numbers with 66 people... Great welcome and perfect food to continue an intense day of skiing! Absolutely fantastic staff and manager for our large group! Don't hesitate to visit them! Plus you leave the terrace... And hop on the slopes! Brilliant in every way! THANK YOU SO MUCH !

Fine mountain self. Quick and good food at decent price for Zermatt. I recommend the apple strudel with vanilla sauce. Easily found seating at rush hour.

A bottle (plastic bottle) of water costs 12 sf and when we asked, but that's a hefty price, we got the answer, water is precious. Rip off!

One of the two restaurants at Riffelberg, we stopped here for lunch after our hike from Rotenboden. Meals here are self service, meaning you pick what you want to eat and pay at the cashier. Don't expect quality food here as it's supposed to be a quick fix rather than a culinary experience. But the food and price are still decent, and fulfills its purpose. We ordered a pasta, soup and cake and they're all okay. There are also a lot of seats here and the outside seats offer a breathtaking view. Loved the experience.

Food is very bad, but view is amazing. Fries were hollow and not tasty and schnitzel was bland. It is not hard to do good fries. Crazy prices. But the view is amazing and I would recommend stopping here just for the view

Pleasant place, with beautiful views and a delicious apfelstrudel with vanilla to regain strength. To highlight Amanda, she is a delight, always happy to see her again. As a negative point, it is very crowded.

They serve maximally bad food. I don't mind simple food, but this is just bad quality. I guess they can afford it, since people come for the view. But still, I would expect something else from a Swiss mountain restaurant in the Zermatt region.

Here it is difficult to talk price/quality because the view on the mountain is what counts. Just to sit on the terasse and enjoy the scenery is unpayable.

Large self-service restaurant with a large terrace, good food

The bratwurst was only lightly fried on both sides and wasn't warm at all on the inside. The fries that came with it were poorly seasoned. Tip: Better stop at the ski area on the Italian side! Much better food at much cheaper prices.

Price-performance ratio was good. It's worth avoiding lunchtime but otherwise great

Typical restaurant in a ski resort. Simple food like pasta, Rösti etc are served. The location is beautiful with a excellent view on the Matterhorn.

Good range of German/Swiss food - we had schnitzel, bratwurst, fries, penne pasta, roast chicken. The roast chicken was quite salty. Good pitstop for a day out on the slopes.

Vegan offer very small, spaghetti napoli was bland and watery and far too little (very small compared to the penne portion), prices are ok. View on the terrace is great.

I like it, is good quick warm food after a long ski morning! In fact, I would definitely go again. I love the Goulash soup!

Ate there twice, bratwurst with hash browns and meat loaf a few years ago. I remember it as one of the worst slope restaurants I know. Even in other large areas like Davos you always somehow get something decent on your plate.

1 star is a lot. It was served by the chef but it was better to be served by the waiter. the waiter is better than the chef⛈⚡🌬

The location is actually ideal for a break, but unfortunately due to the pandemic there is no way to eat in an acceptable manner. In the snow, the food gets cold quickly and there are no places to put it. It is completely incomprehensible that the prices for take away are as high as before. 6 SFr for a soft drink in a plastic bottle is not acceptable. Take away is nothing like a snack bar or kiosk, so the prices should be accordingly plus a surcharge because of Corona. When shopping, a plastic bottle costs less than one franc... Margins of over 600% are simply not possible. The food should also be sold in appropriate packaging, because plates without tables outside in sub-zero temperatures is not practical

It's good that take away is offered. Food was good, but I find it questionable that a 0.5 L drink to take away costs 6 Fr. (the same price as before Corona)

Vegetarians can only eat vegetable soup, fries or iceberg lettuce.

ゴルナーグラード鉄道のリッフェルベルグ駅から少し下った所にあるカフェテリア形式のレストランですテラス席からはマッターホルンが綺麗に見えるので、お天気の日は混雑しますカフェテリア形式で飲み物やグラスをトレーに乗せ、食べ物はカウンターで上の写真や現物を見てオーダーして作ってもらい、レジに行って支払うという流れですスープのコーナーでは自分で入れましたが、Barley soup(9.9フラン)は大麦の入ったスープで、日本のお粥のような食感で美味しいですスープ(9.9)、パン(1.5)、白ワイン・ファンダン2dl(9)でトータル20.4フランサラダだけにした日は、サラダプレート(小 :8.9フラン)に自分で盛り付けますそれとビール(5)、ファンダン白ワイン(2dl : 9フラン)でトータル22.9フランでした

Zelfbediening met prijzen van toprestaurant!Nadat Restaurant Gornergrat onze reservering door slecht weer geannuleerd had, uit nood dit restaurant? bezocht. Sprite en Cola verdunt met water? Twee personen van ons gezelschap doodziek na bezoek aan deze Zwitserse boevenbende. Tip voor warenkeuringsonderzoek!

Nadat we even snel wat wilde eten zijn we terecht gekomen bij buffet & bar Riffelberg. Normaal ben ik al geen fan van zelfbedieningrestaurants maar deze is pure oplichterij je betaald hier even veel of MEER dan bij een echt restaurant waar je kwalitatief veel beter eten krijgt en de frisdrank niet aangelengd wordt met water. Nooit meer en ik raad iedereen aan hier NIET te gaan eten.

Lo visitamos hoy alrededor de las 3 pm (hora tranquila para ellos) y gastamos 50 francos en café, chocolate caliente y pasteles. Al pedir un vaso de agua del grifo, la mujer muy hostil nos informó que cobran 3 francos por ello. Evitaremos siempre que sea posible en el futuro.

Good sunny meeting place. The food is only average. Sausage and Rosti over cooked.. The half chicken was good. Unfriendly staff. In previous years when I asked for a glass of tap water they were happy to provide. This year not so, they refused and said you have to buy bottled water. There are a lot better places to eat on the mountain that are happy to provide free tap water.

A metà fra le piste, ottimo per pausa e relax al sole con vista Matterhorn. Prezzi folli come tutta Zermatt. Bicchiere acqua gas 4,20 chf. No servizio tavoli ma self service. Qualità cibo comunque buona.

Situé à côté de la gare de Riffelberg reliant le GORNERGRAT à ZERMATT, ce self service offre la possibilité de se restaurer tout en profitant d’une des plus belles terrasses du domaine. Un bonheur quotidien sur les pistes.

Reasonably priced buffet, about an hour and a half away from Klein Matterhorn (if you want to ski back to Italy after the stop). We both got Rosti & they were awesome!

Perfect place for skiing with amazing slopes and views

Very nice staff despite the hustle and bustle of visitors from all countries.. you still feel comfortable and in good hands here.. Food very good and relatively fresh at approx. 2600 meters above sea level. The price is reasonable and affordable for all types of guests. Couples/families and groups... keep it up boys and girls 👍
