Burgwies in Zürich

My husband and I really enjoyed the food here. The starter was already very tasty and beautifully prepared. The selection of different fondues is large and there is something for everyone. Definitely recommended and a nice thing if you spontaneously feel like having a fondue or Swiss cuisine, no matter what time of year.

The fondue chinoise was great. Dessert with a caramel bowl and an ice cream with gin was also delicious. Looking at the menu makes you want to eat here again. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. But never intrusive. We'll be happy to come back, thank you for the lovely evening with you 👍👍👍

The Burgwies restaurant is easily accessible by transport. The ambience is simple, not overly cluttered and exudes solid local charm. We had fondue chinoise with starter and dessert. The food was very good and the prices are fair. A big compliment at this point goes to the service, which leaves nothing to be desired in terms of attentiveness and customer friendliness. Many Zurich restaurants could learn a lesson here. A restaurant that we definitely won't be in for the last time. 😍

Neighborhood pub in a great location near the hospitals and at the tram stop. Also the starting point for great dog walks in the middle of Zurich but total nature. Tip: arrive at 11 a.m., park your car at the restaurant with consultation of course, get the dog tired and us hungry and then order a hearty menu at reasonable prices. We had the veal liver (tender and well seasoned) with Rösti (crispy but a little too much fat) for CHF 35.00. the service is fast and competent. Perfect for a lunch with friends with dogs. Certainly again soon.

We were in Burgwies for the first time three weeks ago so we could enjoy game again before the end of the season. A great, friendly, motivated and, above all, very attentive team welcomed us and accompanied us throughout the evening. We also received a vase for the flowers immediately. The resti was full, but the service still took its time and was patient. The game was super tasty, the chutney served with it was excellent and what was great: there was the game plate you would want: meat, chestnuts, pears, berries, spaetzli, red cross, rose cabbage. This place is fantastic! The food is amazing. You can get 3 kinds of cheese fondue in one pot as well as meat fondue. It is not touristy and is off the beaten path, but very easy to get to via public transportation. It is clearly a local favorite. The service is the best we had in Switzerland. The owner made sure we could understand the menu. The restaurant was everything we wanted and spoiled our children while we were eating. It was one of the best meals we had!

Restaurant Burgwies can be looked at as a traditional Swiss restaurant. In my opinion it serves on of the best cordon bleu’s in town and also has different types of cordon bleu to choose from (both types we had were very good). For the sides we had Rösti which was good and seemed to be home made. The Kroketten were however store bought and therefore not overwhelming. The drinks were good and reasonably priced in light of the restaurant being in Zürich.

The food was good, but in my opinion the price/performance ratio wasn't right. Leberli with Rösti Sfr. 36.- + CHF 3.50 for the hardly any vegetables. It was so tight that my hash browns had to be placed on the windowsill.

There were 8 of us and we were crammed into two tables for four. Two people were seated next to us at tables of four. We pointed out to the waitress that it was too narrow. Don't judge by appearances! Restaurant located in an absolutely anonymous building, inside it is a bit reminiscent of the restaurants of a few decades ago. Very good food, I tried the Fondue Chinoise (in broth) and I highly recommend it!
