Mega delicious food, authentic and polite staff. Allow some time in the evening to get a table, people line up and like to wait. No wonder with the Cottu Rotti :)

I don't say anything more about the fact that the food was almost cold despite the express delivery. Maybe UberEats is to blame; maybe not. But: the lamb was fatty, the dal was watery, the chicken was far dry and the rice wasn't what I ordered. Samosa was still the best, but only just. Perhaps the whole thing was seasoned in the cook's dream; no taste has been lost until the dish. With so much good Indian food on offer in the city, this one is completely unnecessary. Addendum: whoever wrote the restaurant's response would have to consider looking for a job outside of the hospitality industry. “Then next time, look for another restaurant.” Good advice, I will definitely follow it.

Legit Indian food. One of our favorites in the city, and we checked a few. The waiters' memory and efficiency is incredible:))

First of all, as a Tamil, I can confirm that the dishes are very authentic and I really enjoy eating at Friend's Corner. The portions are very large (sometimes there is even enough for two people, you have a good selection and the prices are also ok. It is often full house on Fridays and Saturdays, which is nice for the resti. Service has always been friendly. But what I noticed after a few visits: - Starters are often forgotten or are unfortunately no longer warm. - Reservations are not taken seriously (they don't write down names and you should just show up). We gave spontaneous guests a table in front of us (the only table with a reserved sign) and we had to share a table with other guests. - The restaurant is extremely small (I wonder why they didn't look for a larger location or place the seating differently. - And unfortunately I ordered from just eat just three days ago and the order was canceled after an hour. I called and said the courier wasn't there and then I was hung up 😅 - Vegetarian implementation of a dish such as simple basmati rice with various curries was not possible because they said that it comes with a meat curry as standard (although you could simply leave out the meat curry). Unfortunately I don't know if this is still the case, but it wasn't there a few months ago. Otherwise, for me, Friends Corner remains the best restaurant in Zurich that offers good Tamil food! 👍🏻

Really tasty Sri Lankan food. Worth a visit

I'll confess that what first brought me to Friends Corner was the reasonable prices. I had heard that the area around Im Viadukt had some cool restaurants, but as a resident of central Manhattan, I was shocked that the to see the prices at most restaurants were much, much higher than what I was used to. At first, the name "Friends Corner" seemed like a misnomer to me. Sitting outside in the warm, somewhat buggy air, saturated with cigarette smoke (How many decades will it take Europeans to understand that smoking is stupid and rude?), watching the server zip back and forth without so much at a glance... To be fair, the people around me, lingering and smoking at tables covered in empty beer bottles, probably felt Friends Corner was a perfectly appropriate name. I was a solo traveler and my AirBnB host had her own life, the girl who climbed the cathedral stairs with me had moved on to Baden, I'd somehow failed to properly break the ice with the girl on the boat tour, and no one on my walking tour had met anyone other than the walking tour guide. Friends Corner was not responsible for any of this. Even so, it was frustrating leafing through a menu I couldn't understand for 10 minutes while repeatedly failing to make meaningful eye contact with the server as he whipped too and fro, clearly covering more responsibilities than was plausible for a single employee. Finally he stopped by to find out what I wanted, and of course I had no idea. Maybe something from this 'vegetarisch' section? I pointed to the ones that seemed to come with 4 somethings (curries maybe?), since I like variety. He directed me to one of the items with 3 somethings, but I demurred. He more pointedly directed me to a second item, insisting "It's good. It's very good." So there you go. I ordered my meal without being able to read the menu or know what I had ordered, all based on an 11-second exchange. Ah, but the food! He had directed me to the dosai, which were bread-like but had a satisfyingly eggy texture. It came with several curries and also something that resembled wasabi, yet with a trace of mint. It was quite a sizable portion of food, and I ate every damn morsel of it. Okay, but did the food really make me feel like I was back in Sri Lanka? You know what? Yes, it really did. If you like Sri Lankan food, you've got to visit this place. (Bring a friend.)

Waiter had a taste of alcohol, long waiting times when ordering and also during service. Of course, I understand if the service team is understaffed. But if one person asks for the order and then goes to the other to get a pen and then forgets the order and the other comes back and asks and forgets again, that is not service. Starter was not served. To order you had to get up from the table. After asking several times for the take-away boxes and the receipt, nothing was brought to the table. You had to get up from the table and go inside. You pay more for the service than for take-away. Accordingly, the prices for such a service were really outrageous because there was no service at all! Kotthu Rotti just had chilli powder in it and was dry. Never again!

The restaurant forgot my reservation and had to relocate another customer to make place for us. On top of that the restaurant served me a veggie samosa that was still frozen inside. They serve huge main dishes, which were difficult to finish but tasted good. Note: I felt sick the next day but can't directly attribute that to the food.

The food is great and also corresponds to Tamil cuisine. The service towards Tamils ​​is poor. The best masala dosa I have eaten in Zurich.

My wife and I were served very poorly by the owner personally, as we are also (brown)... There are many recessions that the owner is poorly serving his own nation. We decided to place an order anyway. My wife couldn't finish it all. We wanted to take the rest with us. When we asked him if he could pack it, he just threw the packaging on the table and ran away... I don't recommend this restaurant and hope it closes soon. Never again!!!! Shame on you🤬

The waiter didn't wash his hands after he went to the toilet. The store is inviting but it is not very clean. The food was ok… Rolls were good and vadai was simply warmed up in the microwave (not crispy and fresh).

Delicious Sri Lankan food at an excellent price

The combination of poor food and poor service make this is an awful option - irrespective of price - to dine at. Food: All the curries are made in batches and they sit in a regular food display cases. I have no clue how long they've been sitting there for, but it's long enough that the food has cooled down and needs to be re-heated again. Their method for re-heating food is with a microwave which isn't really great if you're in the mood for fresh food. Service: The service is awful. We went on relatively quiet day and the waiter took forever to get to us, as did the food. I've been three times and each time, they've messed up my order despite me needing to repeat over and over. Yet they always get it wrong, then give attitude when I tell them so. Can't recommend.

Yesterday my relatives and I went to friend’s corner and we wanted to order the food. The waiter was stressing us and was bit annoyed. He couldn’t note down our menu properly and repeated again and again. After so long, we received our food and went home. Later when we checked, the order was incomplete. We received just dosai, but we even ordered for Rolls and plain rottis. I’m sorry, but we are not satisfied at all with your service.

Rich portions, sometimes quite spicy 🌶🌶🌶 but always good! A local location where you can observe the hustle and bustle in the district from its authentic side. Fast service, for spontaneous hunger pangs and you can sit outside. My choice when I'm in the mood for Sri Lankan cuisine and/or a spontaneous, casual dinner.
