ButchersTable in Zürich

Terrible presence. The hostels said they didn't have a free table and were even rude when they said we would come back after a certain time if my wife and I wanted. At no point did he ask me if I was going to wait in line since no one was waiting and it was raining.

It was our first time at Butcherstable and we had never had such a good experience the first time in a restaurant. The ambience was in keeping with the concept; it wasn't too crowded, not too loud and there was a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff was great from start to finish, from the individual explanations of the concept to the fact that we were always looked after. The butcher really knew his craft, you rarely see such cleanliness👍🏼👍🏼 A surprise for us that from the starter to the meat and even the sweet little desserts always left a complete taste experience. The love for the subject can truly be felt and is therefore fair for the price, good quality has its price! A complete success, thank you very much👍🏼

Good advice based on a lot of know-how from a dynamic team. The food was excellent and the service was attentive. The ambience per se is very nice and harmonious with the food on offer. Prices in the upper segment, which in my opinion corresponded to what was offered. The group of guests (approx. 6-7 people) at the neighboring table were a bit tired, they were very loud. Also understandable if everyone speaks at the same time and no one listens 😉 But it wasn't worth complaining about.

Really good experience. Staff is attentive and nice. Staff gave us bone vodka shot. Steak cuts are varied and really delicious. Slightly cheaper than other steak houses but quality is top notch.

The meat and food is very good, unfortunately the service does not match the food. The wrong one was delivered and the inserts were smaller than you could imagine. Additions and errors were written on the house, which could be seen as a plus, but it seemed more like a standard response which makes the quality of the service seem inferior. Instead of admitting the mistakes, the staff became annoyed and snippy...

That was really great cinema. The team is here at the start with authenticity and a lot of passion. Large selection of premium beef, great side dishes and sauces. The highlight was of course the sip of vodka through the medullary bone. We will be back!

The aged pork chop was our favourite. It was a very confident recommendation by Mario the resident butcher, and it was stunning, I normally will not order pork in a steakhouse. My next favourite was the beef tartare, light and tasty! The other steaks (ribeye and a skirt) salads, fries and sourdough were done perfectly and they had a nice selection of wines to go with the meal. Service was also very friendly, efficient and entertaining 😊 Last but not least, they presented us with a plate of dry aged and cured wagyu striploin that totally melts in the mouth. Don’t need dessert after that!

The steakhouse serves undeniably the best meat I have ever tasted. The team is very attentive and friendly, which contributes to a pleasant experience. The quality of the food, the service and the lively ambience absolutely justify the price in my opinion. The personal interaction with the guests is particularly commendable. Overall, a recommended choice for excellent food and service, value for money is right.

The meat we consumed was very expensive and the price ratio wasn't right. 13 people just under 200 fr per head. Paid.

We've never paid so much for so little meat, it's just not understandable!!!! Meat quality very good. Side dishes very weak for the price. As I said, if you're hungry, this is the wrong place.

It wasn't our first time here, but maybe it's our last time because it's already very expensive. The three of us chose four types of meat. The advice is perfect, as is the preparation and there is nothing wrong with the staff. The different types of meat taste very different and are actually excellent. They would therefore be a wonderful experience. But if we pay over 500 for the meat alone at lunch, we don't want to enjoy it cold. Unfortunately, this is impossible because everything is served on a wooden plate at the same time and the plates are not preheated. Even if you gulp everything down straight away, the last forkful is barely lukewarm. I don't like stress over a good meal. The side dishes are also very mediocre and not worthy of the meat. So value for money is not right for me. A pity.

High-end meat. Highly recommended. A little expensive but worth it. Top. Be sure to listen to the butcher's advice.

I held my Christmas dinner for customers here on November 15, 2023. The employees were extremely competent and always friendly. The food was very very very tasty. We had a wonderful evening at the big table and all of my guests were more than satisfied. I can only recommend this restaurant and will be there again soon. Kind regards to everyone from Pascal

This is the second time I have had the chance to dine at a Williams Butcher restaurant (once in Bern and once in Zurich Bellevue). I loved the experience, the meat offerings were incredible, the wines matched perfectly with the choice of meat, we enjoyed ourselves every time! A very big downside for me, for both visits: charging 8.- per liter of tap water for bills of more than 250.- per person is completely unacceptable! I hope that this is a point that can quickly be resolved, especially since it is the only negative!

We visited Williams ButchersTable for the first time and have to say we are very impressed with it. We received a very friendly welcome, all the staff were very professional and friendly. They explained everything very well to us how everything works in this steakhouse and were also allowed to choose the meat themselves at the counter, where the butcher gave us very good advice. The highlight was of course the food, we enjoyed it very much. This was definitely not our last visit and we recommend everyone to dine there.

Absolutely great, the way we were advised and accompanied through the corridors! We chose second-cut cuts of 21/2-year-old Nebraska cattle. The first time there, we received a friendly and very attentive welcome. We were explained how it works, great selection of meat. Preparation and presentation 1A. Never eaten such great and tasty meat. A little salt and nothing more. Staff very friendly and helpful. It has its price, but it's worth every cent!

NOT AT ALL RECOMENDABLE Very expensive, restaurant chain, it is automatically always included for fries or salad for 2 people, for example, although specifically 1 salad for 2 was mentioned, very loud, no relaxing ambience, meat sealed, no butchers - but business experience the counter of the meat selection, no professional steak sauce just 1 not tasty sauce made in-house, primarily place for English speaking expats

Very lovely for all meat lovers. My only critique is that if you order a selection of meat for the table they serve it on a platter that makes the meat go cold quickly. It’s been a problem every time.

Once again, simply great. Second time there and thrilled again, great selection of meat and perfectly prepared. Operation is also simply great. 5 stars for food and service and the butcher for a perfect butcher experience.

I came in with my hiking clothes after one of the staff said come in and see how nice it is here. The male employee said how can I help you in a way like I'm there for anything but eating instead of saying welcome. He also just wanted to take my backpack and stuff from me and left them on the floor outside the dining room. Both female employees were disrespectful. They stared and laughed ironically even though they themselves were not so elegantly dressed, then one of them came and wanted to reheat my hamburger that I had ordered as well done, without my asking for it. After she heated it up it became extra hard and inedible plus it was tasteless. When I said that, they said it was me who wanted it well done. But the burger was better before she went and reheated it. The female employees were told how disrespectful they were and they deducted the price of the burger. They didn't even know what interrailing was, even though everyone in the EU has heard of it and yet they think more of themselves than they really are and treat others in a condescending way Not recommended!!

Beautiful outside terrace, great experience talking to the butcher and selecting the meat. Marrow bone, tartar and the steak was excellent. Definitely recommended.

Last Friday we were able to celebrate a wedding at the Williams Butchers Table on Hegibachplatz. A group of 10 people. 10 out of 10 people absolutely loved it! From the starter to the nightcap, from the ambience to the staff. Everything was just right. The meat was just perfect, I don't know of any place where you could get a better steak. There was also a perfect response to celiac disease. Thank you very much for the great hospitality!

Great food, the meat is fantastic. The service is actually good, but then incomprehensible, almost grotesquely petty. We ordered a bone with bone marrow as a starter, my 12 year old son and I, to share. Then, because it was so good, another one. The invoice then said 2x Bone&Shot and once separately Marrowbone. We had never ordered a Bone&Shot (marrow bone with a vodka shot drunk from the empty bone), especially not for my 12 year old son. But they stayed firm and I had to pay Bone&Shot twice and Markbein once. The stupidest thing about it: the tip would have been 3 times as high as if the bill had been adjusted to 2 marrow bones. So somehow it's pretty stupid and not at all customer friendly. It's a shame, because otherwise it was great.

It was a culinary experience for me

I often come with my work colleagues on Thursday lunchtime for the dry aged burger, which is also highly recommended. Now I have just returned from dinner with my partner and we were both completely happy. The guys (I can't call them "service") are always very friendly and competent and the food is very good from A to Z. When it came to meat from the counter, we really enjoyed the lesser-known pieces that were recommended to us, but the starters and side dishes as well as the caramel head were simply excellent. The secluded garden makes eating even more enjoyable. If you think this is a bought review, read my other reviews.

Insanely great staff, great expertise in all F&B areas - hospitality is very important here. Meat quality is great - the price is high, but justified.

I had one of the best caesar salads, with crunchy chicken breast from Appenzeller and a delicious caesar sauce. The waiter was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean and well designed. I will definitely get back to try some of their beef specialties.

The reception, service and food are simply top! I recommend trying the special cuts Outside Skirt is highly recommended.

One of the best combinations for good meat grilled at the right temperature. Quality does come at a cost, so it is pricey even for Zurich standards. Booking a table in advance would be advised as it gets pretty busy even on week days.

We were able to spend the bachelor party here with 7 people. It was perfect, thank you very much. There's nothing wrong with it! The food is fantastic. You get the best meat here. The prices are absolutely justified and are within the usual range. The service staff is very nice and uncomplicated. We'd love to come back. This was truly the best restaurant visit I've had in a long time.

Outstanding steak centered experience - there's a reason this place consistently makes the top lists. You pick cuts of meat from the counter which are then prepared and served on a board for your table to share. Entrees and sides are ordered a la carte from a small but sufficient menu to complement your steak. Small tasty dessert selection. All meat cuts we tried were fantastic - comparing the ribeye to other popular locations in Zurich, this one was just a level above. Atmosphere is also pleasant and more spacious and cosy than the Bellevue location.

If you want to enjoy perfect meat dishes in a very cozy atmosphere, you have definitely come to the right place.

Good food, but horrible service! Excellent meat and side dishes. However, the butcher told one of us "this is not the piece of meat you want" and was unwilling to give it to him. Even after insisiting that he wanted it he would not get it. They also completely ignored our wish to have two pieces cooked so that they are not red on the inside. Other steak houses respect such wishes. A waiter also spilled our red wine bottle. They replaced the bottle, but one person of our group got a lot of it on his white sneakers. It's unclear to me why a place with such high quality food lets their personel be so unfriendly to their customers.

Top steak restaurant in Zurich Wow, it couldn't be better. If you like good steaks, this is the perfect place for you. The Butchers Table has an interesting concept in the style of the century before last. The super friendly waitress, who looks like something out of a Jules Verne novel, directs you to the counter, where you are expertly informed about the different types of meat. The order can then be placed as desired, including with different types of meat. There are variants that you almost never get, such as the very aromatic and delicate kidney cone plus various dry aged varieties. You order the delicious side dishes and drinks at the table. The food is then served in different steps and is absolutely great, a steakhouse couldn't be better! The attentive service is always there when it makes sense or is needed. As an insider tip, definitely take the delicious fries as the perfect accompaniment to the steak and the 'bone shot', a vodka that is drunk from the bone marrow groove. Of course it's not cheap, but it's worth every franc and an absolute experience. We were there with 5 people and absolutely loved it!

I come here often because it has everything here if you're looking for very good meat. And the whole thing in the quantity you want and not what is served to you. On the other hand, if you come here for the side dishes, you will be disappointed. While these are tasty, there is very little to choose from. But that's not the point here. The ambience is nice, classic and suitable for a steak dinner.
